I used to love coming to Caesar this time it was very disappointing. My sister salad is always very good, but I got the duck La'orange which is my favorite staple but unfortunately, it came out dry and overcut had to send it back and then by the time I seen the bag of room we ordered anything because we were already eating the pasta which was a very good . Experienced their iconic service was OK and ambience is always fun. Not sure if I'll go back anytime soon but definitely go for the Caesar salad.
FUN FACT: Caesar salad was invented here in TJ! I was shook when I learned that -- and also very excited because Caesar's Restaurant is just a short drive across the border. The restaurant is located on Revolución, so there's plenty to walk around and explore, plus lots of paid, secured parking nearby. We went during lunch for drinks and, of course, a Caesar salad. I love the whole idea of a tableside Caesar -- food and a show, honestly. The staff was friendly, and we ordered a mojito and a mezcal cocktail, both excellent. We got the large tableside Caesar, which is perfect for two people. The host came over, explained all the ingredients, mixed everything right in front of us, and served it up. It was great. I prefer a creamier Caesar where the anchovies are mixed in rather than left whole -- and that's exactly the style they make here. Definitely stop by, and I'd love to come back for a full meal next time we're in Tijuana.
This place was on my bucket list for quite some time and I finally had a chance to go. I ordered a mojito and it was just perfect. As for the famous Caesar salad, it was good but to be honest the one I had in Puerto Penasco, Mexico taste it better in my opinion. But still this place is an icon and it was a good experience. For an appetizer we ordered, beef carpaccio and it was pretty good. I also ordered carbonara but it was nothing like the carbonara that I know. It was more like alfredo and I was disappointed.
First time trying this restaurant and of course the Caesar salad is a must! Absolutely delicious. Definitely get the table side presentation for first timers. The restaurant is very classy and has a lot of history to it. Order the duck with mashed potatoes and spaghetti bolognese. The server was very kind and helpful. Will be be back !
I was told this restaurant was the OG place where the Cesar Salad was invented. Nice restaurant I see why it's considered an icon! Very nice and busy. Place is considered high end so practice your best habits before you go! Restaurants have low music which is nice to have a proper conversation.
Yes--get the Caesar Salad! It was literally invented at this hotel restaurant. They mix up the Caesar dressing right there at your table. Service is very professional and attentive. And I love the Roaring 20s vintage interior decor. Cozy, soft warm lighting. Lively place, but not chaotic. Pasta came out HOT and flavorful (impressive cause pasta cools down fast). They preheat the dishes so your food stays hot longer. Walking street right out front in the only charming part of Tijuana. This restaurant is like a time capsule.
May I make a suggestion? Do NOT order a steak. Caesar's is NOT the place for steak. Case in point, I ordered a rib eye, one of their most expensive cuts of red meat. Ribeye is a cut of steak known to be 1-1.5 inches thick. So when I saw my plate I wasn't sure whether to laugh or cry. The "steak" wasn't even a 1/2 inch thick. Normally, I would send a plate like this back, but I honestly did not think it would get any better. They did however nail my medium rare request Yes, their Caesar's salad is one of the best I have ever had. Yes, they mix nice at the table side with raw egg yolk, anchovy and fresh black pepper. Yes the food server was excellent. Yes the establishment has ambience. In fact, Caesar's has one of the best decors in Tijuana. Even the ladies room was one of the neatest/cleanest I've seen in the city. Now, if we could only fix the steak I might come back.
We walked in yesterday around 3:30 and were seated right away. Our server was super quick, informative, and funny. We both agreed that it was the best Caesar salad we have EVER had. We also got the cafe martinis (espresso martini) and they were great. We will definitely be returning during our next visit.
After my friends finished their dental appointment and haircuts, we were ready to fill up our bellies with great food. Before I learned about its history, I grew up thinking the Caesar salad originated in Rome, Italy and named after Julius Caesar but the only thing Italian about it is the birthplace of its creator Cesare Cardini. And since reading about this fact, it became a bucket list item to eat the original Caesar's salad in the restaurant that first made it back in 1924. Today, we get to indulge in the experience of its table side preparation - a small production to behold with the 'salad maestro' placing each ingredient into the massive wooden bowl one by one, mixed fully and incorporating it onto the crunchy fresh Romaine lettuce then topped with generous grated Parmigiano Reggiano and toasted slices of bread. It's simple enough that anyone can do this at home and ask the question "why would you even choose store-bought dressing loaded with gums, corn syrup and chemicals. The first bite of the salad was worth the drive to San Ysidro, parking near the border, crossing over and taking an Uber to this well-known restaurant. Because my two friends just had some dental work done, they each ordered soup. One Classic French Onion soup and Tortilla soup. We shared an order of Gambas al Ajillo and I opted for the Spaghetti Al Pesto. I got to taste their soups as well and I shared half my pasta with them. Our waiters all spoke English and readily topped our glasses of water and accommodated our small requests like soda, olive oil and extra slices of bread. Only praises for the service! They were fully staffed! Compared to other guests during this lunch hour, we were underdressed in what is considerered the classiest restaurant in Tijuana according to San Diego Reader (2017) and we are not even in rugged clothing. I would definitely return here and bring my special date for a romantic evening of culinary delights and drinks.
Beyond my expectations for fine dining in Tijuana. Close to the Emporium, my favorite shop for silver and copper jewelry. Creator of the famous Caesar salad. If you order a large they will prepare the salad in front of you. Watching our server at work- marvelous and the homemade dressing from start to finish, freshest taste ever. The croutons were large pieces of perfectly sliced crispy heavenly toasted bread. The marrow was sawed into 4 chunks of bone, impressively plated and arrived with 3 saucers of different flavors: spicy, beefy like gravy and simple salt. The escargot were luscious morsels in garlicky butter and perhaps parsley. Doc's octopus to share was tender and good. The calamari had the most delicate batter fried to perfection, not oily just delectable. Doc also had tacos in an Italian restaurant. Very swoon worthy, ritzy with servers dressed to the nines, dark wood, cloth napkins, photos of celebrities like Laurel and Hardy on the wall. Loved our midda meal here. I'd return here in a heart beat.
Service here was excellent and food was great. This is home to the creation of the ceasar salad so had to try that. I would say it's as good as any other places that I've had like Golden Steer in Vegas or House of Prime Ribs in SF. I can skip on this. What you must order is the bone marrow on sopes! That was delicious and one of the best bone marrow I've had. The ambiance was elegant.
My first time here but had to try it out. My brother took me here since he kept raving over the food and I have to agree, it was amazing. Did you know this restaurant is known for being the first to create the Caesar Salad? It was named after the chef, Caesar, who immigrated from Italy! We had the following: - table side caesar salad - bone marrow - chicken tortilla soup - beef wellington I enjoyed the table side service for the salad. They make the dressing, toss in the romaine, and there we have it! It was pretty good, but next time I will just get the smaller plate. The Bone marrow was mouth watering! I would order that again. Beef wellington was the perfect size and cooked very nicely. Overall the cost was about $80 USD for two people. We also has some drinks! Definitely check it out!

The food is really good, the restaurant is stunning definitely very upscale, the bartender speaks fluent English, the rest of the waiters no so much. Had a great time here sitting on the bag, Coronas are like $2.5 a meal is like $10-$12 - your classic high end Italian restaurant. Check out the chef's specials and don't forget to try their Caesar Salad, after all - they are the ones who invented it! Great ambiance and central air conditioning, very clean and in a excellent location, your classic tourist-go-to place They have a hotel too, we didn't stay there but next time we'll sure will. A real gem in downtown Tijuana. read more

Of most places in TJ, this restaurants is pretty nice with old time photographs of Ceasar and various famous people hanging on the wall. You can really tell that the food is either high end quality compared to most places in TJ by the ambiance of the classic Italian atmosphere. I ordered a Ceasar salad, and there was a waiter that stood there making the famous Ceasar salad in front of me. He mixed anchovies, egg yolk, olive oil and a slew of other ingredients to make the salad dressing. The salad was actually very fresh and good. Caesar's is an outstanding choice in Tijuana, Mx. it's the beginning of the Caesar's salad, this alone is the best! You cannot rate a Caesars any better. The abeyance is that of a fine San Fran Resturant. Lots of dark wood and glass. The rest of the menu is outstanding too! About 10 minutes south of the border. read more

This place is a Gem in Tijuana! The Caesar Salad prepared to order table side is a MUST! We were looking for a lite meal so we split the salad, Châteaubriand for Two (cooked separately to perfection and plated for each of us), a bottle of wine and she had the onion soup as a started. Total Bill ONLY $61 + 20° Tip! CONCLUSION: I totally recommend this restaurant. The Food is fantastic, the service is wonderful and the prices are better than reasonable! read more

My friends and I took a day trip to Tijuana and we arrived early at the restaurant. We sat down down and they brought over bread with a garlic spread. We ordered tortilla soup to start and then had a caesar salad prepared at the table for the four of us. The caesar salad was delicious every bite was perfect! Afterwards our lunch arrived and we ate all the delicious pastas we had ordered . For dessert we wanted to try them all but we narrowed it down to those three choices. read more

Good food and service. Even the simple naranjada is just done right. Of course the caesar salad is a must. Nice ambiance in the restaurant. The only thing we didnt really care for was the free tapenade with the bread. The flan is good. read more

If you look up Caesar salad, it was apparently invented here. That alone wouldn't have been enough to get me to make the trip, but the menu and reviews were. Located on Avenida Revolucion, this restaurant is about a $5 cab ride from the pedestrian border crossing. They accept card, pesos, and US dollars. The dress code is casual by day, I'm not quite sure if that changes at night. I walked in around 2 pm midweek and had no problems getting a table. The first thing I noticed was the elegant and clean decor. It was as if I was transported backward in time to somewhere that had style and class. The service was excellent from the moment we stepped through the door. Menus are available in English and Spanish, so language barriers are not a problem selecting your dishes. I ordered the Caesar salad (OF COURSE) which is prepared tableside. They make the dressing from scratch and talk you through it. The lettuce was clean and fresh, and the dressing was amazing. I also had the calamari, which was excellent. The breading was nice and crisp, and the squid was fresh. For my main dish, I ordered the duck l'orange. It was very nicely plated, cooked perfectly, and well seasoned. The bf had the beef wellington. The last time I had beef wellington was at Gordon Ramsay's. This was on par or even better. The sauce was better here. After the salad, calamari, and duck, I was completely stuffed. I had to decline the dessert menu, which I was loathe to do. I can't recommend this restaurant enough. We've already agreed to visit TJ just for this restaurant at least a couple times a year. I can't wait to go back, because they have so many of my favorite dishes on their menu. read more

On our 1st visit everything was over the top. When we arrived there wasn't a wait time which was a plus. Our waiter gave us some recommendations and I'm glad he did. The Caesar salad was AMAZING! Can't get any better than that. My husband said the rib eye was probably one of the best steaks he's had. I'm only giving it 4 stars because our 2nd visit wasn't as great as the 1st one. We were sat by a table of about 12 young college kids who probably had one too many. I highly recommend visiting Caesar's restaurante ! read more

Oh the famous Caesar's restaurant where the Caesar salad was born! Amazing upscale restaurant sitting right on Avenida Revolución. Wife has been wanting to try this place for awhile and finally we took a day trip down to Tijuana with some friends to give it a whirl. First, the service was great and attentive, super friendly server! Getting the Caesar salad made at table side was a cool experience as well. This is a must try when visiting our neighbors to the south. Such a great restaurant with 1920's decor, you'll feel like you've escaped out of the US during prohibition. Like I've mentioned in my previous reviews in Mexico, Tijuana is becoming extremely gentrified with modern upscale restaurants and coffee shops. Truly an amazing little city with so much to offer. read more

Restaurante Ceasar's was a phenomenal experience all around!! When we first walked in, the staff were friendly and welcoming, and the restaurant itself felt very authentic and had beautiful decor! We ordered a pitcher of sangria with the famous table side Caesar's salad and garlic bread to start, which absolutely led up to the expectations. Our server's name was Oscar, who was very excited to serve us, had a great attitude, and was super attentive. He prepared our Caesar salad to perfection! The pasta entrees were delicious, and were kindly packaged to-go by the wonderful employees. 10/10 experience with food, service, and atmosphere!! Will recommend, and definitely will be back!! read more

Yum yum. We almost went for NYE and thought it was too pricey. We ended up going for my birthday in August. Now we know that NYE would have been worth it. Protocols were followed 100%. Service was excellent. Valet parking offered. The only downside was because of covid no tableside salad. But we still ordered it and it was perfection. We had the friend calamari. Nice and crisp and not greasy. We ordered mixed drinks then We ordered a bottle of wine that they kept chilled. They gave us garlic bread that was soft and warm and flavorful. My husband did the spaghetti arrabata with chicken and shrimp and I had the peppered steak also cooked to exact temperature. And of course birthday flan. Hoping that covid will be more under control so we can do NYE THERE read more
Beautiful Restaurant + Great Food + Amazing Service + History + Awesome music This place is stunning, it's like stepping into a place expecting Al Capone in the corner. You feel like a Chicago mobster 10x more than a gringo tourist in TJ, the tunes are very Frank Sinatra. The food is great, I'm not a salad guy but when in Caesar's get yourself a Caesar salad! Everything is super fresh. The tapenade is incredible, randomly my favorite thing about this place. Service is incredible, especially at these prices and so close to SoCal. The weak Peso helps anyone coming south! This place is the perfect destination for your day trip from SD. read more

Wow if there was a 10 star restaurant, I have officially dined there. The home of the Caesar salad! The service is out of this world. Our server Hugo came around to greet each of us and shook our hands. He then pulled our napkins off our plates and put it on our laps. He then brought 4 glass bottles of water and poured each of our cups. We ordered beef carpaccio, spicy grilled octopus, salmon stuffed peppers, bone marrow and calamari. All of it was DIVINE. But my absolute favorite appetizers were the bone marrow and spicy grilled octopus. For the Caesar salad they make it by your table. The sauce was just so creamy and authentic. It comes with 3 pieces of romaine lettuce and a crispy bread on top. I'm not a fan of salad but man was this delicious! For the entree I ordered ravioli and my husband got the prime rib. We both enjoyed our entrees. Great portions. In-between the dessert, we got a round a cappuccinos and for me a hot chocolate. I then ordered the creme Brûlée and my husband got their apple strudel. My friend ordered the guava tart. Did I mention that their desserts are only $3-4 each?! For what you get that is unheard of. I would recommend the guava tart with fresh guava pieces inside. We went here a while back and it was great!!! Amazing place!!! The service was phenomenal. Can't remember our servers name but he was great. What we loved was the ceaser salad made Infront of uou! How they explained every single ingredient was fantastic. And the taste of it was even better. I loved it. And complementary bread was good as well. My raviolis were really good and my fiancé's pasta was awesome too. We were very satisfied with our dishes. The only reason is a 4 star is for two things the dresser wasn't that good the cream bulee and because the prices were a little too high! My pina colada was very good We don't regret coming here it was all worth it. We will be back soon!!! It was great can't wait to come back. The place itself was a very cute restaurant and plenty of help from everyone read more

Such an elegant, old fashioned vibe. The pictures on the wall were so interesting to see. I tried the lemonada. Perfection. Food was great. We had to try their famous Caesar's Salad. It did not disappoint. Loved it. Garlic fries had perfect amount of cheese. So good. The appetizer with toasted bread, wasn't bad but I really am not a fan of olives and you could taste the olives In the spread concoction it comes with. The complementary house bread, OMG. Loved it. Dessert was great. Nothing is made in house but it's good. We tried the 4 cheese ravioli; the lemon in the sauce wasn't over powering. We will definitely be back when visiting town. read more

My husband and I love to dine out! And this restaurant is definitely one of our favorite places to visit when dining in Tijuana. The resturant is known for their cesar salad, hence the restaurant name. . .and no wonder! The salad is really good and always fresh. We have tried several entrees from the menu, and they have never failed. The drinks are really good! You must try a Tamarindo Martini. . .the tangines of the fruit makes the sweet martini really yummy! Or Mezcalito of your choice (tamarindo, cucumber, mango etc. .) read more
