First night in Berlin so wanted to try authentic German food. Stopped in on a Thursday night without a reservation but was able to be seated. Server suggested the Nolle-Teller which is platter with three different meats, potatoes and sauerkraut. It was large enough for two of us to split and great way to start our German experience. Food and serve were both very good. Would recommend to others. read more

The food was reasonable but I was more a fan of the location, ambiance and services. Aesthetically it's a beautiful restaurant to dine out for lunch or dinner. Maybe try to make reservations because they get full real quick. However, we got lucky to get a table, despite not making reservations but keep in mind it was luck. In the future we would definitely make sure to make reservations. read more

Nice outdoor atmosphere... I highly recommend the traditional Flammkuchen... service not great.. but typical of Germany.. had to wait for service even though place was empty.. that's always a frustration in Europe. But if u have tons of patience and not in any rush this was a lovely outdoor experience and I would repeat everything I had again. read more

A blast from the past...but so much better. The food was excellent. Old Berlin favorites, like Buletten, Schnitzel, Pommes, soup, and salad. Service was friendly, helpful, and incredibly efficient. The beer was so good, the German red wine was even better!! Nestled under the SBahn, the cozy and retro atmosphere made the experience even better. The husband and I stopped in here for a drink. The bar was busy and had a fun vibe. I had the mulled wine, which I didn't love (but I think I just don't love mulled wine, not their fault). We had some tasty beers. It was a comfortable and fun place for a drink. I'd recommend it. read more

Great place. I really enjoyed the Nolle dish after a day of travel. Just perfect. The place sits over a subway which transmits sound into the restaurant, which I didn't mind at all (in fact, I liked it). Best thing I can say is that I intend to return soon. This restaurant was right across the street from our hotel. It was one of the two that the concierge recommended if we were looking for German food. Tired from our flight, we went to Nolle. They had outdoor and inside seating. We chose to sit inside, and we were greeted by a very boisterous waiter! He was funny, efficient, but does not give recommendations :o) We found this throughout Germany. If you ask a server for a recommendation, they respond with, "We cannot tell what you like." As an American, we're used to asking for the server's recos....not common in Germany I guess. So I went with the schnitzel. Though it wasn't listed as an option, I asked if I could have a baked potato on the side instead of the fried potato options. The server happily accommodated! I also ordered a wheat beer, and thoroughly enjoyed it also! Overall, a good experience. read more

We were in the area and dying of starvation, and Restaurant Nolle answered our walk-in prays with delicious food, huge portions, and timely delivery! You really don't get all 3 in Europe much... Service: we came around 2pm, so it was an off-hour visit, but the place was still relatively packed with small and large parties alike. They quickly seated us 4 and were quick about getting our orders. Food: we ordered the schnitzel combo plate, the Bavarian meatloaf, and a mixed meat plate. The schnitzel was amazing. I've had schnitzel in Munich and Zurich before, but this one takes the prize. We ordered the one with the creamy mushroom sauce - highly recommend!! There was a 2.5 euro additional fee for changing the original combo plate order (that only had the traditional schnitzel, no sauce), but it was well worth it. The meatloaf was not what I expected... it tasted more like spam meat (ie salty) and had an almost gelatinous texture. Not a fan. The mixed meat plate wasn't too memorable, except for the steak that came with a rich sauce. I don't recall them asking how we'd like the meat cooked, but it came medium well which was perfect. read more

Sure, it is probably a restaurant, and a rather random one at that, but as we were wandering through the backstreets, completely lost without the benefit of some mapping software, it was probably time to sit down and have a drink. It turned out that this particular place was reasonable enough, so we decided to stop by for a drink. Went on a cruise with Princess Cruises and was taken to eat authentic German food at this restaurant. Nice interior and nice serving of German food that included sausages, sauerkraut, potatoes, vegetables, and apple strudel. read more

We went here with a tour group and only had an hour. Most of the time these types of places rush you in throw a plate of mediocre food at you and move you along. This was not the case here. We had a full 3 course meal with the main course consisting of a ton of really good food. The main course was veal which was amazing. The dessert was apple strudel. Traditional german restaurant. Not pretentious, laid back and family friendly. Interesting location, underneath the train tracks of Friedrichstrasse train station. Good honest food in HUGE portions. We had the schnitzel with cream of mushroom sauce. It is thicker than the usual thinly tenderized veal schnitzels, but still very tasty. We also had the chicken salad. The chicken was grilled to perfection, juicy and tender meat. Greens galore. I also had a potato dish which was basically based potatos, sour cream, chicken and salad. That was also VERY substantial. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Would definitely go back. Perhaps for small eaters I would recommend going there on an empty stomach or sharing dishes. read more

Love love love! I wasn't expecting much out of this restaurant because it was right around the corner from my hotel and across the street from McDonalds. I was definitely surprised! My dad and I came on a busy night where there weren't any open tables. The bartenders were very welcoming and nice and they were able to get us a table within 5 minutes. I had seen a sign outside of the restaurant earlier in the day for Spaghetti Bolognese so my mind was set on that but I saw all of the wonderful German food on the menu so I also got the Berlin potato soup. Highly recommend! It was one of my favorite things I had during our trip. The pasta was also 10/10! I also had to have schnitzel so we came back on our last day, and I got the schnitzel that has the cream mushroom sauce on top. It was DELICIOUS. I wasn't sure if I would like the sauce but the dish was so good. I would definitely come back here if I am ever in Berlin again. There is a wide variety of German food on the menu that I still want to try! read more

We were staying on Friedrichstraße and were looking for a quick bite on our way back from Museum Island late afternoon. The portion sizes are huge, and well priced. You have to make yourself known to a waiter if you want something on a busy evening, but the service was good and the waiters/waitresses were very charismatic and amiable. It's perhaps not worth going out of your way for, but if you're in the area and want a decent sized German meal, this is the place. We liked the atmosphere and price/quality so much we came back late one night after seeing the grand show. read more

I was tired and did not feel like exploring so I picked this place and thought that because of location and the availability of an English menu that it was a tourist trap. I was wrong... The food was decently priced and pretty good. Service was fast and I was satisfied at the end. I ended up going with the schnitzel with "gypsy" sauce. Very nice. We wanted a dinner near the hotel after a long day out, and didn't want to spend a fortune, so after looking at the menu online, ended up at Restaurant Nolle. It was pretty busy even though we were eating at around 9pm. Our waiter was nice but a bit distracted, but English menus were immediately provided and as long as I could catch the eye of the waiter, the service was adequate. I ordered a schnitzel, which was actually pretty good. It wasn't the best I've had but it was a huge portion and perfectly edible. There are obviously much better places to go for dinner in Berlin, but for the relatively decent price and the convenience factor, it was A-OK indeed. read more

Enjoyed traditional German fare here. The atmosphere was warm with an Art Deco feel. The restaurant is located under a train station, so you can hear the trains come and go adding to the ambience. It wasn't too loud. The crowd was a mix of locals and tourists. I was a little worried it would be bad because as we entered, a group of elderly tourists were exiting into their giant bus. Two of us had the Nolle special which was a good sampler - meat patti, bratwurst, schnitzel, slaw and potatoes. Surprisingly good without being too heavy. My husband had the Bavarian meatloaf with an egg. It was just okay-- the "meatloaf" was similar to Taylor ham or Spam; not like an American meatloaf. My other son had the roast chicken which was good. Husband and I had the Berliner beer (pilsner) which pared well with our meals. Service was good. Our waitress was attentive and pleasant. Very good food and wonderful outside seating. Had English menus for those of use who do not speak German. My sons had pasta dishes and ate every bite. I had the meatball dish with mushrooms in cream sauce and also ate very bite! My husband had the special Nolle plate which was very filling and really the best plate at our table. read more

This was an awesome place to eat at the last night we were in Berlin. The food was super tasty, our waiter was friendly, and it has a fun 20s/Art Deco vibe. It's under some train tracks but it's not like we were trying to concentrate on performing surgery, just eating, so just made for interesting ambiance. read more

Literally a few steps from our hotel so we just had to go visit. They have lots of seating inside but we chose to eat in the courtyard out back. Our waiter happily greeted us and brought us an English menu once he knew that we spoke English. He was not very talkative but he was very nice and attentive. We ordered schnitzel, steak, and veal. The serving sizes were very large and nobody finished their plate. The veal and schnitzel were great while the steak was just ok. The courtyard was very pleasant which made for an enjoyable evening. It is right next to the metro line but it was never so loud that it got unpleasant. read more

First local cuisine place we visited and the best. I really like spacious venues and this one is very much so but also very cozy. Lively but with the level of noise in with which you can have your conversation effortlessly. I had 2 veal sausages with sauerkraut and parsley potatoes - incredibly delicious and immediately different from all the tastes of NY. Even the regular veggies-lettuce salad we ordered had the dressing with some unique tones. The guy who served us, when i asked him to bring me any very German wine, brought me the wine that turned out the cheapest on the menu; very cool of him not to go sell us the priciest item when he had a carte blanche to do so, inspires trust. And he was super nice. Next time I'm in Berlin I'm definitely coming back. read more
