This coffee shop is almost always busy, so we stopped in today to give it a shot. It's pretty loud for a coffee shop, but it seems intentional as it's more of a chat and converse vibe than study and relax vibe given that they serve food and alcohol as well. The line moved pretty quickly, and after ordering a cold brew we left and then tried the drink. I've had my fair share of cold brews over time, but this cold brew was undrinkable. It tasted bitter, burnt and disgusting. I usually will power through but didn't want to waste $6.50 on a coffee especially given how rude the barista was when we ordered. Despite there being no preparation and simply a pour into the cup, Matty acted like I insulted his family when I returned it to ask for a refund. He processed the refund and surprisingly didn't even offer to make something else or find something else we might like. To wrap it all up, I kindly asked him if he wanted me to leave the drink so he could toss it out or if I should throw it away and he rudely responded, "you can do whatever you want." Wild approach to customer service. I will not be returning to this place no matter how close it is. read more

I had a great experience at Republik Coffee in Pasadena! The service was excellent, and the staff was very friendly and welcoming. They have some of the best coffee in the area, and the pastries were absolutely delicious. Everything was fresh, tasty, and made the experience even better. I'll definitely be coming back and highly recommend Republik to anyone looking for great coffee, pastries, and excellent service! read more

The most magical cold brew you'll ever taste. Come in to have your life changed, your palette altered, and magic created.

My daughter and I had a nice breakfast here with coffee. It was very busy the day we went. We waited a little in a line but the food and drink cane out in time. I have nothing to really say. The breakfast was not bad. We sat outside because it was a nice day. read more

Charming café with great brunch and strong local vibes! Visited Republik Coffee in Pasadena on a busy Sunday for brunch, and it's clear this place is popular--expect it to get packed and crowded, especially on weekends. The space itself is super cute and inviting with plenty of small tables for 2, both indoors and outdoors. There's a large indoor seating area and some patio tables outside. Just a heads-up: this spot isn't ideal for big groups. You'd need to push together a few small tables, which can feel cramped when it's full. One thing I noticed: a lot of people come here to work on their laptops and stay for a while, which adds to the cozy, studious vibe--but also means fewer tables free during peak hours. Not the place for a rowdy brunch crew, but perfect for a chill meet-up or solo coffee-and-laptop session. Parking can be tricky, so give yourself extra time to find a spot nearby. Now let's talk food: Eggs Benedict - Loved this! Perfectly poached eggs, creamy hollandaise, and solid portion size. Avocado Toast - Fresh, clean, and Instagram-worthy. A reliable pick. Breakfast Sandwich - Super satisfying. Hearty without being too heavy. For drinks, Republik really shines: Iced Matcha Latte - Smooth and refreshing with just the right amount of matcha flavor. Lavender & Oat Latte - Floral but not overpowering. Beautiful and balanced. Black Vanilla Latte - Unique and delicious with earthy vanilla notes. A standout! Service was friendly even with the rush, and the food came out reasonably quick considering how packed it was. Would definitely return. Great for brunch dates, casual hangs, or working with a good latte in hand. Republik is a Pasadena gem! read more

I get my nails done regularly next door but only a month or so ago decided to finally check Republik out. I've now been there several times and I have to say this is some of the best coffee I've had. I'm not big on coffee drinks which I always consider quite unnecessary/frou-frou but here, their Signature Drinks HIT. I've had several 'as is' (no modifications) and they are just so...balanced. I am scarred by sweetness of some other cafe renditions but nothing here I have found overwhelmed by the sweetener. Black Vanilla Latte, Lavender & Oat, Cardamom Oat Latte, Sea Salted Hazelnut Cappuccino, Purple Caramel Latte...you honestly can't go wrong. My 1st order was actually their Vietnamese Cold Brew ("dark roast cold brew, condensed milk, coconut water, rich cold foam" and I was SO SURPRISED how good it was. I remember audibly mouthing "wow." So safe to say I'm now a big fan after experiencing this + other choices beyond it. Food: I haven't had a full meal here but a good selection of brunch dishes I see others around me partaking in + a few brunch cocktails. In the meantime, I have however, gotten hooked on their pastries i.e. their ham & cheese croissant (warmed up) eats like a meal as it's the right amount of decadent. P.S. Yesterday around 2pm a musician with a cello was setting up for a performance. Entertainment here too on occasion?? I'm sold. Big fan. read more

Well first of all everyone was very friendly and helpful of answering my questions about the food. They recommended this plate right here and it was delicious and also the banana almond bread hit the right spot after I was done. I can't wait to come back and try other things on the menu. I truly think they did a great job over all. The area was very beautiful to relax at. read more

Parking is terrible from 2pm to 6pm. You have to find street parking in Pasadena. It is also known that Pasadena is really strict about parking enforcements. So read all the signs before leaving your vehicle! Staff were super friendly and very helpful. I got their ham and cheese croissant with a jasmine hot tea. I had to watch which item to get because there were flies inside the display where they grabbed the small sandwiches. They also had a fridge that kept all the cold items and desserts. Their patio is pet friendly and is nice and small. A cute little coffee shop. They also sell alcohol there. Im not sure if I'd come back for the food, but the drinks and ambiance is what I'd come back for. read more

Pretty solid, but not my favorite in Pasadena. We got a cardamom latte and a matcha latte. The cardamom latte was amazing, but the matcha was very milky. The ambiance was nice, there are a lot of individual tables for studying and the lighting is nice and mellow. We got free street parking but there are also paid lots around the area! read more

Cute spot with a fun interior and plenty of seating outside. I ordered a pistachio latte which was delicious. I ordered the chilaquiles which I found to be not that great. The food was on the colder side. I should have sent it back but I thought I could work through it, I just didn't care for it. I think I'd opt for something different on my next visit. read more

Wonderful place to study on the weekdays! I heard their WiFi can get kind of slow on the weekends, or it's not available. Great cafe vibes, a taddd bit pricey but I guess it's the standard for Pasadena. Brunch and drinks here are excellent! I really enjoyed their cloud cold brew. Their latte art is also excellent and the staff are always on top of it! After customers has left their dishes on the table, they are quick to clean up. There is 1 hour free street parking from 9am-6pm if you can find it. read more

I came to Republik Coffee in Pasadena because of all the great reviews, but unfortunately my experience didn't match the hype. I ordered The Quench and it completely lacked flavor -- it really needed seasoning and salt. My best friend ordered the bacon, egg, and croissant sandwich, and the eggs were also very bland with no real flavor. The café itself is cute and has a nice vibe, but the food didn't meet our expectations at all. I was really looking forward to trying this place, so it was disappointing to leave unsatisfied. read more

Great brunch and study spot in Pasadena! I've only ordered delivery from republik in the past and only recently have been here in person and would definitely come back in person next time because this is just the cutest cafe. There's a good 15 tables inside and you order at the counter. You order inside and they'll bring the food out to you. Portions are pretty generous as well. Normally the interior is pretty packed with people working on their computers so it's pretty quiet too. The outdoor seating is definitely more adorable and cute. There's multiple benches outside and are quite comfortable too. Makes for a good spot for girls day too. French toast 5/5 so so so good. Crisp on the outside and moist on the inside. Fruit, powdered sugar and whipped cream on top. All the works! Chia pudding 5/5 one of the best things on the menu in my opinion. Coconut flavor infused in the chia pudding. If you're in the mood for something lighter this is definitely a good option. Rose Matcha 5/5 good quality matcha always makes for a good latte. It's not too sweet and the matcha is not too forward which sometimes can make it unpalatable if not done correctly. Addition of the rose flavor marries well with the matcha read more

Honestly the nicest thing about this place is location. I love sitting under the trees on green st. But I wish the place was managed better.. and by managed I mean.. a better overseeing of menu (food is not great and often comes out cold), manage their behind the counter flow... there is often a line because the cashier is busy making drinks. Too bad. This is an example of something that can be great but due to lack of oversight .. is not. read more

Near the corner of Lake and Green, Republik Coffee has plenty of 1 hour street parking and nearby structures. I can see why many love this place, tall ceilings, NY coffee house feel, customers that look like lululemon and Vuori models, etc. The salted cold brew cloud wasn't too special- it had a nice salted cream foam, that made me feel like a kid with each whip of my tongue. The big disappointment is their breakfast burrito. The chorizo reminded me of a calabrese salami, which is delicious on a pizza, but not the texture I want on a burrito. Not sure how this is the #1 food item, maybe should have gone with the chilaquiles or a $6 danish. Staff was friendly, but the food missed the mark. Also, you can buy some bottles of Caymus and Opus One in the scenario you can't make it to a wine store. read more

There was a tall Asian cashier that took my order and was very kind. Loved the Vietnamese coffee and having live music is outstanding.

Came here for a morning coffee while I was in town and there was a line out the door! The line to order and get my drink took about ~20 minutes. I got the vanilla black latte and it was absolutely perfect for what I needed. Will come back again if I'm in town. read more

I frequent Republik coffee more than I would like to admit, but this is because they are superior to pretty much all the competition in all aspects of perfect coffee shop-ness. Not only do they have a beautiful, comfortable environment to relax and work in, but their food and beverages are top quality and consistently delicious. I have never come in and left unsatisfied with anything. This place is popular for a reason and I will never not recommend it. Daniel and Alex are especially amazing staff as they always go out of their way to make customers feel comfortable and taken care of. 10/10 every time!!! read more

A trendy restaurant with delicious food just off of Lake Ave in Pasadena. Republik is located on a shady block on Green St with street parking and a small front patio. It was busy today with many people working on their computers, grabbing coffee, or lunch with friends. My husband and I got a couple of sandwiches to try out and a refreshing drink. The Pink Guava drink is Lowkey the most delicious drink I've had in a long time. Coconut, guava, blueberries, and it's not artificial or incredibly sweet it's just perfect! My chipotle chicken sandwich was scrumptious with plenty of aoli and avocado and my husband loved his turkey club. The service was nice and the place had cute decor with the owner walking around being attentive and friendly to guests. My only tick was that it needed a little TLC to get the restaurant up to the same standard as their delicious food but I get it, it was a busy holiday. Overall, an excellent spot for a quick lunch! read more

The chilaquiles were delicious, they were crunchy. The avocado toast was perfectly tasty with hint of lemon. Even though it had all kinds of things on top, you don't really taste everything. Inside can get a little crowded, but it didn't take us a long time to find a table for 2. They do not allow food or drink from outside. Stopped by here after taking a 7 hour exam, so I was in big need of a pick me up! The cardamom oat latte was delightful. Really enjoyed the flavor and the potency. There was also a cardamom pastry that I can't remember the name of, but it was sooo good! I don't live close, but I might have to make a trip back out there for that pastry. They also serve a couple of breakfast cocktails if you want jazz things up a bit. Overall, a dope neighborhood spot with good food and drink options. read more

You'll always catch me trying some new coffee shop. I was happy to stumble across this one out in Pasadena when I dined in at Nick's. Now this place could be a little bit difficult to find when you plug it into Apple maps. This is located on a busy street with no real parking. They do have some street parking available, but it could be pretty hard to come by. Upon walking in, you're welcomed by such a nice ambience and it feels very homey. I came in on a Saturday afternoon, and this place was pretty packed. They do have a pretty good selection of pastries available, some refrigerated items, some lunch and breakfast items, and of course a coffee bar. For a place like this expect to pay upwards of $8 for a drink and probably about$6-$8 for pastry. I guess it's pretty expected. I stood in line for about 5 to 10 minutes, it did move pretty quickly, but the place was pretty busy. All the tables were taken inside and what was nice as that they did have live music going with some guy playing a guitar - he was pretty good. They do have some tables available outside, but also pretty hard to come by. The lady that took my order was just OK, I didn't get spectacular service, but I can try to understand why as it was pretty busy. I did order a traditional iced vanilla latte and it did look a lot milkier than it tasted. It was OK, something I can definitely make it home. Overall, the vibes of this place we're pretty nice and I can see why I can get pretty busy. They do have a pretty good selection of menu items so rest assured there is something for everybody. Some feedback for the place: - I would recommend maybe slowing down with your customers despite a line forming. Try to make the experience a little bit more memorable for each person walking in. - Redo the pastry display as it looks a little mediocre, with that you'd have more appealing display. Make it look more organized and keep it stocked (if available). My review is as follows: - Food: 4/5 - Service: 4/5 - Ambiance: 5/5 read more

Let's start by saying it's such a cute little cafe in Pasadena. They usually have live music playing on the weekends with oh gives it this chill, relaxing vibe. It's cute and small. They have both inside and outside sitting. It's good for a friend hang out as well as needing to get some stuff done. The menu looks pretty extensive. I just got this time around a Lavender & Honey Matcha Latte. Which was amazing. Definitely have to come back to try some breakfast stuff. They also offer some brunch drinks ;) if that's what you are looking for as well. In terms of service; everyone is very nice and attentive. The amount of time you wait for your food depends on how busy they are. But it's not a crazy amount of time. Will definitely be coming back to try some of the food. read more

This place has been on my list for awhile now and I'm glad I got to finally try it out. A fun and busy spot. You stand in line, order, given a number and can sit anywhere. We originally wanted to sit inside but it was too busy. Luckily we were able to get a table outside. The drinks came out first and we started getting our food. My friends ordered a few items. We got chicken pesto panini, eggs Benedict, chilaquiles, a latte, a mocha and a purple caramel latte. Let me start by saying the drinks were so good. You can tell they use quality ingredients. Nothing too sweet--the perfect balance. The pesto panini and egg Benedict's were good but the chilaquiles were great! Their fresh chips were thick and even after sitting for over 30 minutes in sauce they were still so crunchy! Very flavorful and a well put together dish! The staff were nice and helpful. Decor is gorgeous, food is great, definitely couldn't recommend this place more! read more

This place has good tiramisu but I just cant justify the price with what they served. Visited on a busy Monday morning. I searched Yelp for chilaquiles and theirs looked decent enough to want to try. I've wanted to try this place for a while but it's always very busy to the point where I've walked in several times just to walk out. Although the space is large, there just isn't enough sitting for how popular this place is. The food was tasty, but the chilaquiles could have used a bit more sauce. You order at the counter and they bring your food out so a server isn't going to come around and ask if you need anything once you have received your food. I might come again, but I wouldn't rush to. read more
