I had a slab leak and decided to repipe...mainly because my neighbor also experienced a slab leak days before and I wanted peace of mind that this wasn't going to happen again. I shopped around getting five estimates. I went with Repipe Specialists because the quality of their product and I felt they would stand by their warranty. Stevo was great explaining everything to me. He went through my house explaining where the cuts would be so I was fully prepared. I'm so happy I went with Repipe Specialists! The crew was on time, clean, and professional. I was worried about how distressed I would feel seeing my house tore up, but they were so neat, I actually felt happy thinking about how great my new pex pipes were and how I wouldn't have to worry about any more leaks. The foreman walked me through again where the cuts would be made and we made some adjustments to minimize the holes. I went with the delta shower fixture they offer and it "remembers" the temp u set ur water at and wow no more complaints from my kids...too hot or too cold...it's always JUST RIGHT! I got one for my shower as well and it saves fussing with the temperature and worth every penny. I had my brother come take a look because he is a plumber and he said the work looked really good. Even the city inspector commented HOW GOOD OF A JOB THEY DID! The patching crew came the very next day after the inspection and they were amazing. Their texturing was practically unnoticeable, it blended so well. I know this company stands by their work because the drain on one of my faucets I had them install began to leak and they came the very next day and fixed it. It was so convenient to have the new shut off valves so it was super easy to shut off the water to the leaky sink until they repaired it. First of all I have to say I'm really bad about writing reviews... I definitely read them all when I'm deciding on who to use for certain household projects or dinning but I never contribute, good or bad. This time I decided to write a review so that I can help someone else in my situation make a good decision when facing a terrible situation like a slab leak or burst pipe. When I read the reviews, I have to admit there were some that scared me. I talked my concerns over with Mike Norris my sales guy, and he made me feel comfortable to move forward. Although he was great and friendly and informative, I knew he was not going to be the one doing the re-pipe. The company that came out to do the job was Miranda Plumbing. The supervisor was Steve... Let me start of by saying he is one of the nicest men I have met. He told the guys "he just finished remodeling his house so he would really be happy if you could put as minimal holes as possible". The 4 guys that came worked super hard. They also went above and beyond crawling into tight spaces and hard to get to areas just so they would not have to put more holes in the wall. This really surprised me because they could have put an extra few holes and made their job a lot easier. I really appreciated that they did it right and treated it like if they were doing their own home. All the holes were in closets, bathrooms and behind the refrigerator. All areas that were going to be not seen much. Also, the covered everything and cleaned up after every area they finished. They answered all my questions and were so nice and polite. They did everything as stated on the contract (this was something one of the reviews had said they violated and scared me a little prior to starting) The patcher came after... the guy was really nice. A talented kid that did an amazing job. you could not even see the holes when he was done. He also took the time to take care of all the details and make the place look great again. He also covered everything and cleaned everything before he left. Steve called me after to make sure that everything went smoothly. I could not have picked a better company to do this huge job. I mean they replaced the guts of my home. It's like getting all your valves and arteries replaced in your body. This is not an easy job and definitely not a DYI project. We obtained 3 quotes and felt Repipe Specialists was the most thorough and professional. Agreed to the terms of paying 85% at completion of repipe, before patching and final work - big mistake. An estimated 3 day job turned into 2 weeks. The final patchwork to outdoor stucco was left undone awaiting inspection by the city. The inspection found issues to be corrected. Another day for the sub-contractor of Repipe Specialists to fix the problem. Then the sub-contractor did not follow up to schedule another inspection. So, we scheduled ourselves and informed the sub-contractor who ignored us. Called our estimator Jon Lopez 7 times, no response. Once paid no one cares. Called the head office and they told us to call the sub-contractor. We paid Repipe Specialists who took the money and ran. read more

I recently had Repipe Specialists repipe my home. Generally speaking I find having any of this type of work done in my home invasive, inconvenient and harrowing. With that said, the RS crew came in and got the repiping job done relatively painlessly in two full days with one additional day for plastering. I've had a couple of leaks in the past few years, so when I discovered the third leak I knew it was time to re-pipe the house. I got several estimates, and they all were within a few thousand dollars of each other. Differences were wide as far as: -Professionalism -Use of copper and/or PEX -Inclusion of drywall/stucco repair in estimate -Length of Warranty After one plumber gave an estimate, he suggested that I learn about PEX by researching it on the Internet. I'm glad he did, since that's how I found Repipe Specialists. Mike Norris from Repipe Specialists came by to give an estimate and he was very knowledgeable. He was professional and answered all of my questions. The estimate he gave was less than half the cost of all the others. Not only was it the best price, but it included all patching and provided the best warranty on work and materials. The day of the re-pipe a small army of guys appeared on-time and got right to work. Steve Lovell was the project manager and he was there most of the day to make sure things went right. The job was completed in one day, the workers were neat and cleaned up before they left. The next day the patchers arrived before the city inspector came to sign off on the work. They prepped all the areas to be patched and waited for the inspector to arrive. When the city inspector came to sign off the work, he even commented on what a good job they had done. Then as soon as the inspector left, the patchers started working. They even patched up a couple of areas that weren't part of the contract! The patchers are truly artists because after they finished putting texture on the repaired areas, it blended in so well that it was hard to see the patches. After getting 3 different quotes for my water system to be re-routed out of slab, Repipe Specialists gave me the best. The repiping crew came in on time, cover all furniture and floor. The leader did a walk-thru with me and discussed for the least invasive spots. They finished the work from 8 am to 2:30 pm, and did a thorough cleanup. The workers are polite. Steve has done 3 jobs for me and they were tough jobs . I appreciate the promptness of the job and they were all done to code and inspected and they all passed. I am so unhappy with this company. I feel like the whole company is a scam. I met Rafael and we sat down and went over the proposal. He gave me the whole speech about how they were the company that was responsible for fixing all the plumbing issues in the Las Vegas housing market, they have a lifetime warranty, etc etc. He gave me the quote of $6534.00 pex repipe, mainline and include a Nortiz tankless water heater and install. Does not include Electrical. I had to have that done seperately. This was for a small 1200 sq ft house with a kitchen and one bath. This also included them to run a hot water line outside to my garage ($200.00). I also got 2 other quotes. I liked them better than the others. I think they may have been the middle bid. I put the deposit down and they started the job. The crew showed up. The lead guys name was Steve. I later found out that Steve is a subcontractor for Repipe Specialists. Just so you are aware REPIPE SPECIALISTS CONTRACTS EVERYTHING OUT. So if one customer had a good experience, its because it was with a completely different company. Steve, is from a company called Repipe 4 Less, out of Sun Valley. If you google their name nothing comes up. He showed up and we went over the job. I was also redoing my main line , which Rafael said we would cut diagonally across my lawn, under my drive way and into my neighbors city owned piece of land on the other side of the sidewalk. Steve said we could not do that and that we had to go directly under my driveway and into the main part of my neighbors yard and then out to the city property. I said NO, we cannot run my plumbing into my neighbors yard. Seems pretty basic. Then his lead on his crew shows up and says their is no problem running it the way Rafael originally stated. Then, I was having them install an outside exposed shower. Rafael, had explained to me it would be no problem. I ordered the shower. I showed Steve and explained it to him. He looked at the shower and said that was way too much work to put together. That it would take 2 of his guys a whole day to assemble. WHAT!?!?!?! I looked at the box and said Steve, its like 6 parts, and you just screw them all together. I had to call Rafael. Again, Steves lead looked at the shower and said, oh no, that should not be a problem at all. It wont take that long. I am not sure how Steve has been an owner of a plumbing company. He knew almost nothing. I texted Rafael, and said, I dont feel good about this guy Steve and I am having second thoughts about having this job done by him. He assured me Steve was great and he would make sure the job got done correctly. My kitchen contractor and Steves lead both informed me that my drains were also bad. I only believed them because my kitchen contractor also told me. I trusted my kitchen contractors, who were great. He told me to do it now, or I would have to tear up my new bath and kitchen in the future. So I did. I called Rafael and explained to him that I wanted to do the drains also. He said that I would be dealing direct with Steve on the drains. He said that Steve would give me a much better deal than if I went direct through him? huh? So I did. Only to find later it was because Repipe Specialists doesnt do drains. Steve showed up the next morning and gave me a quote of 6500.00 for the drains. I told him he was crazy. I had another bid that I had got that was for both the repipe and drains and it was 11,600.00. So I pulled the bid out and just like that Steve said he would do it for $5000.00. So I agreed to it because I already had them working on the job. From here it was just one thing after another. Here is the email I sent to Rafael: Rafael, Here is the list 1 Left tons of dirt on my porch outside the entrance to under the house and around the patio. 2 They cut out the hose bib on the back of the house and did not replace with new one. They just ran two lines out to the back of the house. 3 Installed outside shower. Did not run the line first, so the faucet was clogged with dirt and had very low water pressure 4 Steve came out to look at the outside shower, I told him my contractor said there is prob dirt in it. He had me call the manufacturer to trouble shoot. By the time the manufacturer called, he had pulled the shower/faucet apart and found a good amount of dirt in it. He cleaned it out and it fixed the problem 5 While fixing the Shower/faucet he asked me if I had any allen wrenches, I lent him mine. After he left I went over to my tool box, he put them back in my tool back and they were covered in mud. 6 He did not show up with any tools. He was asking his patcher for pliers 7 He asked me if I could help him insert a screw into the faucet, after he took it apart, because he could not see well enough. I was out there trying to fix it, and I did. THERE WAS MORE, BUT I GUESS I AM OUT OF ROOM. SO YOU GET THE POINT. BE CAUTIOUS OF THIS COMPANY. read more

2.5 stars. I wish I could give a better ratting but my experience was below average. The estimator (Mike Norris) presented the company in the best possible light as you would expect from a sales person. He told us that the job will be done by a very experienced subcontractor (Miranda Plumbing). He estimated that the job will take a day plus a day for patching. It took two plus a day and a half for patching. The crew that worked on our house worked hard and their supervisor, Steve, tried to please us and corrected the things that we pointed out to him (Tip: Make sure to be home during your own re-pipe). The process was messy (to be expected) and had a few hiccups (two leaks under the sinks, flooded fire alarm, minor damage around the house like burned out light bulbs, torn paper lampshade). I think it all happened because the crew was rushing to get to the next job. I hope no mistakes happened inside our walls. We had lots of holes in the walls and the ceiling. I am not sure how many exactly but probably close to sixty. Patchers did a great job on closing the walls and matching the texture but the ceiling is another story. Ceiling is not even and texture is different. I can see all the ceiling patches :( I was hoping that two coats of paint will make it blend in better but I was wrong. It bothers me a great deal and I will probably have to fix it in the future. read more

Obtained quotes from 5 different repiping companies before I dediced on Repipe Specialists. They weren't the most price competitive but were at the more affordable end of the range. Reason I ultimately went with them was that I felt the most comfortable with the information and recommendations that they provided. Work was fast and created minimal interruptions for us. Guys were professional and seemed to really know what they were doing. They essentially had two crews like everyone else, one comes in to do all the repiping and another one comes in a few days later to do the patchwork after the repiping has been inspected by the city. They subcontract out and we had three different companies handling our project. They caused another leak during the project and took no responsibility. They also didn't patch all the holes, didn't put back appliances, took six days to do project, and removed baseboards but never replaced. I'm going to try and just get straight to facts: We have a 3200 SF single story house in SJC. Total price from RPS was $6700 out the door. They stayed true to that number 100%. 1) Price- Super fair for the amount of work that needs to be done on a repipe 2) Showed up on time. 3) Inspection went smooth and they got high marks for their work from the inspector. 4) The salesman that sold us the job was good. 5) As clean as you can probably expect in a repipe. They really tried to keep it clean. 6) Patching was done in one day. Did they match my orange peel texture? No. Would anyone really notice? I do but others probably wouldn't. That said the patching went well. Don't "not" use them because you don't think they will match the wall texture. It's not that big a deal. 7) We had a couple little things that needed attention afterwards and they were on it. Called us back fast and answered their phones. They were available to us and focused on customer service. 8) I used PEX through the whole house. I would recommend Repipe Specialists 100%. read more

The salesman arrived on time, explained how everything would work, answered my questions, and gave me a competitive price. He also gave me a packet of information. So after he left I went over the estimate, checked their record with the CA State License Board, and checked their record with the BBB. Then I called him a couple of times with questions about the estimate. He always called right back. I was about ready to hire this company when I noticed that he only gave me proof of Worker's Comp insurance, not liability insurance. When I called and left him a message asking to see proof of liability insurance, I never heard back from him. Make sure whomever you hire has liability insurance--not just worker's comp! (I assume this is why their price was lower than their competitor's.) And be sure to call the insurance company to verify that the coverage is current. (I'm not saying that this company doesn't have liability insurance; I'm just saying that he never called me back when I asked to see proof of it.) read more

When I called the plumbing guys they always answered the phone even though I had a problem with the inspector. I used pex and they finished my small home in one day. The wall repair guys were good as well and covered everything. They came back late to finish the job after the inspector gave his approval. We really did I not know who to go to to go for a complete repipe nor cooper or pex. Living in La Canada you cannot go cheap on your home. John gave us a very good quote under $8000 for a total redo.. And promised the Type M being the best. He also told us about pex, but we decided cooper even if 20% higher. Doing a repipe is nerve racking as your whole house is wide open during the ordeal and you need the confidence to make sure you get what's promised and that is exactly what we got.. If I could give six stars ... Adis and his crew were above top notch and get those six stars from me.The first day three trucks drove up (not dumpy like most) . Very clean new vehicles and professional looking as the workers. They covered and protected all the furniture , appliances, ect. They started on Friday and done Saturday. Monday the tough expectation with the city..I was surprised as the inspector approved our house in 10 minutes.. Repipe Specialists was recommended to us by one of our city building inspectors who we know from the morning gym crowd. Our first impression of Repipe Specialists was Stevo Hines, the gentleman who estimated our job. Stevo called to confirm, and was even able to come early to our appointment, which for us was great. Stevo made a GREAT first impression - he was terrific. He educated us on all our options with regard to repiping, and clearly described how the process would work, what the crew would do, how they would do it, and everything in the contract from end to end. And he was 100% honest and accurate - everything he described was exactly what the crews did. We really enjoyed speaking with Stevo, the first cool guy we met from this company. Best of all, the job itself went perfectly. The crews were amazing - the entire repiping job was completed in under 5 hours. The repipe crew was there promptly at 8am, and were finished just before 1pm. They brought the permit, arranged the inspection, and the inspector was there the next day at the appointed time - and he was impressed with the work. The patch crew finished in just under 6 hours two days later. Everything happened just the way Stevo said it would. And absolutely everything was completed exactly per the contract - no upsell, no hidden anything. We were initially very concerned about cost, thinking we'd be in the $10k-$15k range, and probably wouldn't do it. Not even close - under $6k, all in. Our repiping crew was VERY respectful, totally honest, REALLY nice guys - they really make an impression, and it shows what kind of company they work for. Led by Artis, this was an impressive group of young men, I think 5 in all - they couldn't have been more friendly and professional. The patching crew was more of the same - just like our repipers, these two gentlemen were VERY respectful, genuinely nice people, AND they did a terrific job. They finished before 2:30pm - not left the job, to maybe come back days later, but finished, including clean up - how often does that happen? Repipe- Scheduled on Saturday February 13 the guys showed up on time and did a good job putting my new pipes in. When I scheduled this job with Rafael from the Repipe Specialists, he said that The re-pipe would be done on Saturday,and Monday the inspector would come out, and Tuesday the patching would be done. Then they told me that Monday was a holiday so they wouldn't be able to get the inspector out until Wednesday. I called Steve the job foreman on Monday and he told me that he would set up the inspector for Wednesday and he would call me Wednesday morning to let me know what time he would be out. It's Wednesday morning and I called Steve and Steve said that he thought that I wanted to hold off until we talked about the drainage that he gave me an estimate for. I never told Steve that. I thought he would call me Wednesday morning to let me know when the inspector was coming out on Wednesday, he assumed this on his own. I am now waiting to set up an inspector, something that should have been done by yesterday including the patching, now I don't know when this is going to get done. I'm still waiting for Steve's call. A job that should have taken three days may now push into next week and even beyond. I don't have time for this. I scheduled this week off of work for the purpose of having my pipes done. As of this writing I am still waiting for a scheduling of an inspector to come out and finish their job. Then I will have to schedule the patchers to come out and do their job. This is getting ridiculous. City inspector came Thursday and noted some things that had to be fixed on the new water heater. Friday morning the patcher came out and took care of the patchwork. Supervisor came out and did the fixes on the water heater (pending inspection). The actual work done is good work, no issues with that at this time. I had some miscommunication and misunderstanding's with the plumber supervisor. I'm waiting for the final inspection that will be done a week later than I was told by the salesman, that this job would be done. I will do a final review on the day the inspector passes the work. Inspection went fine. In the end, these guys did what they said they'd do. It took longer than they said by a week. The job was done in good quality. read more

Yikes. They put down tons of drop clothes and really try their best. But you will need to clean well after. Probably wanted to anyway. Other than that they do a really great job. First day Six plumbers cut 20 holes and completed the job in about 6 hours. The inspector from the city came the next day. It took him about 10 minutes to sign off. He knew their work. The fourth and final day into the project the dry wall people came in. They were awesome! You cannot tell anywhere that someone might have cut. Drywall experts bar none. We decided to go with Repipe Specialists because the person who gave us the quote really seemed to know what he was talking about. On the day of the job, Ed and his crew showed up on time, they worked all day, explained things as they went along and completed everything in one day. The next step was the City inspection after which the patching/drywall crew came in. They did an excellent job of covering up the holes and the texturing was probably one of the best jobs I have seen. The follow up city inspection went well too. One thing to note is that they only made holes as needed, they took the time to find out other ways to access pipes such as through the attic, closets etc. They have been responsive after the job as well. During the job, our insinkerator was damaged and they replaced it. We feel confident knowing that their lifetime warranty will cover any issues that may arise and would highly recommend them! read more

My 3 bedroom 2 bath home was built in 1962, plumbed with copper water lines run beneath the concrete slab. Twice within the first 25 to 30 years, we experienced small leaks which allegedly resulted from abrasion wearing of the pipes as a result of water hammer effects where the pipes came up through and chaffed against the concrete slab. One morning recently, I could hear what sounded like water running when there should have been no flow. It turns out that a hot water pipe under the dining room slab had burst, producing a high flow leak. I immediately turned off the house water supply line, and contacted a local plumbing company, explaining what I was sure was a burst hot water pipe under the slab, since the flooring was hot. They scheduled a plumber, who did not arrive until near the end of the work day. Once he was inside, I turned the water back on, and was flabbergasted by his brilliant deduction. When I came back in the house, he said "you have a slab leak". No kidding Sherlock! Then he proceeds to tell me that their company does not perform leak detection, and that I would need to contact a leak detection company to first pinpoint the location of the burst pipe. I had already fully explained the situation in my initial phone call to their shop dispatcher, and he made absolutely no mention of their inability to determine the leak location. I had explained that the water to the entire residence was shut off, so there was a sense of urgency to get the problem fixed. The plumber stated that the leak detection companies typically charge between $1000 and $1500 just to locate the leak. Then he said I would have to contract with a concrete cutting company who would typically charge another $1000 to $1300 to cut and remove the concrete. By time he added up all the additional fees to repair the pipe, have the concrete floor repaired, install new linoleum in the dining room and kitchen, the estimate was approaching $7000, and this was just to fix this one location. Should another pipe break a month later, I would start this process all over again. I told them that their services would not be needed. This is when I went online and searched under repiping, and I found Repipe Specialist Inc. I called them the following morning, and they sent out Ken later that same morning to advise me and provide an estimate. Ken was extremely knowledgeable and straight forward in his advice. He pretty much confirmed my suspicions that having the existing leak repaired would be throwing good money after bad. We discussed repiping in copper vs. PEX, with him showing me samples of the PEX piping system. I was actually pleasantly surprised when Ken estimated the complete repiping job at $4500 in PEX. That also included replacement of the master bedroom shower controls with a Delta valve. He called their scheduler, and was able to get an installation crew to start two days later. Repipe Specialist called later to say they had an opening in their schedule for the following day, and I was thrilled to get the job started a day earlier. A team of six guys lead by Ari arrived from Repipe Specialist (not a contracted plumber) at 8:30 AM the following morning, and went right to work. This was a blistering hot summer day, yet they kept right at it. I discussed with the crew how I would prefer that they run the pipes in the walls so as to minimize visible wall openings, and they complied, opening holes inside cupboards and behind bathroom mirrors. I felt that they were as clean as one could expect. I knew that there was going to be dust, just a fact of life. They worked very diligently, and had the entire repipe completed in about six hours, with water back on. They cleaned up their mess as best as was possible before they left. They scheduled the drywall and stucco repair crew for the following morning. I did have one minor problem the first evening when I used the master bedroom shower. A puddle of water appeared on the floor in the main bathroom. At 9:30 PM, I called their emergency phone number and their answering service took a mesage. Within 30 minutes, Art, the owner, called me to find out about the problem. He said he would personally be out at 9 AM the following morning with the wall repair crew to see what the problem was. Within 15 minutes he located and repaired the leak. I was impressed that the owner was so committed to my satisfaction that he personally corrected the problem. The wall repair crew quickly patched, mudded, and textured the walls. Without having repainted, it looks like they did an excellent job with the repairs. I did not experience any theft or or damage of personal property, as some have claimed in their reviews. Everything Ken said that they would do in the estimate, they did as stated. I am writing this to tell everyone my experience with your company. We have been in our mobile home for 38 years and we had almost no water pressure! We are both retired. So the idea of repiping the house was to say at least very scary! I called a number of plumbers some of them as soon as I said mobile home they said no, and the ones that did mobile homes the estimates were shocking. Being on social security money is tight. I saw your ad in the Sunday paper so I checked out your web site. I was very impressed. So I called and first thing I said was do you do mobile homes when I heard Yes we do. I said can I get an appointment for an estimate. They sent me an email telling me John Oscarson would be coming out to give me an estimate. John was very professional went over everything showing me what needed to be done when he gave me the estimate I was in shock it was the lowest of any other plumbers and when he said the job would take one day Maybe two. I told him sign me up. He told me they will call and set the day the work could be done. The next day Telma called we talked and set the date. Monday the 24th. Monday at 7:50 two trucks and four men arrived they unloaded the truck in the drive way while I walked thru the house with the foremen two other men covered all the floors and they started the work. I cannot find the words to say how professional and courteous and considerate the crew was! they worked diligently, without a break all the time being careful of walls floors and furniture. When they were done the foremen did a walk thru with me while the others were cleaning up when they left the house looked like no one was ever there. Anyone thinking about having their house repiped "Don't waste your time calling any other plumbers!
