Second visit here. Tasty and served hot. Tried the cod and halibut with chips. In terms of quality, the fish was good and not too greasy. Nice to see they've added some Korean flavours to the menu; would like to try next time! Price wise, at $14.99 for the halibut and $12ish for the cod, it's not cheap but reasonable.

Renforth Mall Fish & Chips is located in Renforth Mall at the south west corner of Rathburn and Renforth. This is a review update. OK so while ownership of this business has changed hands in my lifetime (I've been coming to this place when I was a kid) something drastic has just happened here. Last month (Feb 2019) the restaurant had undergone a renovation to the interior and has really updated their look that really hadn't changed for as long as I can remember. Along with changing the inside they added a new sign at the storefront which now reads Renforth Mall Fish & Chips on one half and Oh My Chicken on the other. Basically this staple which is well known for serving the community Fish & Chips has essentially expanded to a whole new platform in that they now serve Korean fried chicken. For me, this is huge. Previously the closest place for me to get KFC was on Dundas in Mississauga west of Dixie. That is a bit of a drive but hey it's KFC. Now that Renforth F & C serves KFC they've now taken the proximity crown for me. Distance aside I have to say their flavors are really good. My brother who actually discovered this new change told me about it last week so naturally we were intrigued to try it out because ever since I introduced him to Korean fried chicken, he's always down to hit it up. We had ordered half / half which is basically choice of 2 half orders of certain flavors and we also ordered a half order of Padak (green onion). For the half / half we selected soy and garlic. My wife and sister were with us so we didn't go with anything spicy this go around. We were assured however for next time if we so wished we could go with a spicy version which would be made just for us. The flavors were absolutely great. We ordered a side of fries and steamed rice as well. I like the fact that they have rice because many KFC don't and only have fries or other sides. With the orders we were also given cole slaw and daikon radish which were complimentary with the KFC orders. The chicken was great, hot and fresh, well fried, crunchy, bubbly, and not too overly sauced. Their Padak was probably the best we've had. Their green onions were bright and snappy. The interior now has a lot of photos of the chicken on the walls. It's like a whole new place. The chicken is great and I'll be honest in the past I never bothered trying the fried chicken (wings) when they served them before because I prefer the fish and chips but now things have changed dramatically. I still love fish and chips but now I have another reason to visit Renforth Fish & Chips now. KFC so close to home is sort of a dangerous thing.

This place is great! I've Uber eaten this place before when my oven broke so I thought I was ready---Big mega spoiler alert. Don't let the title fool you this place is a triple threat (well quadruple if you count the gorgeous interior)! They serve burgers, chicken, fish, AND SM MORE! my jaw dropped looked at the physical menu in person, theres so much variety! There is truly something for everyone to love!! I can even bring my uncle Jack here (Running joke in the family LAUGH OUT LOUD). Anyways I had a heavy breakfast so I only got a fish. Now if I be frank, it isn't as good as ikea-- oh who am I kidding it was delicious! Fish is fish after all! Awesome tar tar sauce by the way! Tantalized my taste buds in ways I never dreamed of and overall the palette harmonized together so beautifully! Anyways will be returning with uncle Jack.

The modern, chic decor sets a wonderful ambiance, and the service was immediate and welcoming. The food was spectacular from start to finish. We started with fresh, warm bread, followed by a flavorful seafood gumbo loaded with meat, and a generous portion of two lightly breaded crab cakes. For our mains, the 10oz ribeye and 8oz tenderloin were seasoned and cooked to absolute perfection--compliments to the chef! They came with a lovely side of baby potatoes and vegetables. We capped off a perfect meal with a warm pecan tart and ice cream. I highly recommend coming here. We noticed they have a pizza oven and plan to add pizza to the menu soon; we already can't wait for our next visit to try it out! Ps parking wise, the restaurant is just off a residential neighborhood and parking is free. No need to pay for any parking, just remember to read signs.

There are specials that change weekly. The interior is decorated with New Orleans memorabilia, medium lit, cozy (not large), with jazz music in the background. Service was attentive and friendly. They operated for 30 years at their old location. This location soft-opened on 2026-02-12. We came on 2026-02-25 for dinner. There were still some furnishings to complete (there were unforeseen delays). They kept the same menu offerings but it will be expanded within a month. We ordered the following: 1. Citra Terre D'Abruzzo Pinot Grigio - Italy (glass $14.95). 2. Coke. 3. Crab Cakes ($19.95). 4. New Orleans Shrimp Cocktail ($19.95). 5. Jambalaya Aranchini (weekly special). 6. Blackened Lamb Chops (weekly special). 7. New Orleans Fisherman's Plate ($39.95). 8. Pecan Pie warmed with Ice Cream ($14.95). 9. Bananas Foster ($14.95). 10. Beignet ($14.95). Every dish had an excellent presentation. We spent a lot of time taking photos and videos. What did you expect from me?! We loved all the dishes! The portions were large! There are more staff than in the previous location, allowing the service to be excellent. They tend to have many loyal and returning customers. Every table starts with freshly baked bread and butter. The bread was so fresh! The three appetizers tasted good. They each had a little kick due to creole cuisine. I loved the shrimp the most. The Blackened Lamb Chops was perfectly cooked. Each of the four pieces were very tender, accompanied by a delicious sauce. The dish had some very nicely cooked seasonal vegetables: roasted potatoes, a red pepper, string beans, a broccoli, and a carrot. This dish will be put into their regular menu in the near future. The New Orleans Fisherman's Plate is great if you want a little sampling of their seafood: Blackened Fish, Cajun Calamari, and Coconut Beer Shrimp. It also comes with rice and seasonal vegetables. The fish was so good! We brought some home for my mom and she really loved it. The Coconut Beer Shrimp was on top of a Orange Marmalade Sauce, which is really liked. The three desserts looked really good and tasted good. I loved the pecan pie the most. They can split dishes in half in the kitchen and serve them on two dishes for two people to share. The restaurant uses fresh seasonal ingredients and spices to create authentic Creole and Cajun tastes. Everything is made in-house except for bread and butter. In the near future, their bread will be made in-house too. Currently, there is only indoor dining but they are looking into the possibility of sidewalk outdoor dining. Mike Djurdjevic runs the front of the house while his wife, Mira Djurdjevic, operates the kitchen. Their son, Marko, also helps in the front of the house. There is a large pizza oven at the back of the restaurant. They will be introducing creole pizza in the near future. There is a separate large room for events, parties, etc. This room will be ready in the near future. They also do catering. The restaurant is wheelchair accessible, but there is no door-open button. There is one gender-neutral washroom, which is also wheelchair accessible, and one female washroom. Thrre is paid neighbourhood street parking. Review 2026-037

Back to why I do this. I'm endlessly curious about food, people, and the magic that happens when great meals meet good music. Friendships just seem to evolve naturally around a table. And thank you, E, for another incredible photo -- your choices are always perfect. Mercado on St. Clair is a hidden gem. What was once beside my mom's flower shop downtown has now found a home in a slightly more industrial setting on Caledonia -- and somehow, it works perfectly. Cozy seating inside, a great covered patio outside, and that village-style European restaurant vibe you hope to stumble across. First off, the waiter was phenomenal. He walked us through the menu, explained everything perfectly, and genuinely elevated the whole experience. The menu is massive -- meat, seafood, everything you could want -- but we came for the paella. We were told it takes time because they make it the proper way. Not overly crispy, just authentic, rich, and layered with flavour. Worth every minute of the wait. To start, we had the gambas / shrimp in a rich red garlic and herb sauce plus extra toasted bread for dipping, per our waiter's recommendation. Absolute rockstar move. The other appetizer was a delicious beef stew served over crunchy rustic bread. Simple, hearty, and top notch. Now... drum roll please. This may have been the best paella I've ever had. Okay okay, maybe somewhere along the coast in Spain I've had one fresher... but this was absolutely off the charts. Zero fishy smell. Just beautiful saffron-infused rice with that perfect slight crisp, loaded with mussels, clams, octopus, calamari, shrimp, and more. Built for two people to share and completely unforgettable. A few glasses of house white later and bam - there was absolutely no chance I was going back to work. And dessert? I kept telling myself: "No dessert, Frank. No dessert." But there's a rule in life ; if you see crème brûlée on a menu, you order it. This wasn't exactly crème brûlée, but a cheesecake-inspired version of it. Two spoons, four bites, and thank you very much. Favourite meal of the year so far. Completely blown away by this place. Mercatto -- go now. Go fast.

We started with the escargot, which was tender and very well prepared. I also loved that they allow the caesar salad to be split onto two plates. Even half a portion was more than enough for one person. I ordered a mixed drink, and I thought it was a nice touch that they brought the juice and alcohol separately so I could mix it to my liking. My partner enjoyed his old fashioned as well as a whiskey. For dinner, I had the filet mignon, which was cooked to perfection exactly as I requested, medium rare. The plating was simple, but the steak itself was excellent. My partner had the prime rib, and we both had baked potatoes. They brought out my tiramisu with a candle. All in all, it was a great birthday meal. The waiters were friendly, conversational, and attentive. What really stood out to me was the old-world charm of the restaurant. The chandeliers and stained glass windows created such a beautiful, classic atmosphere that you just don't see very often anymore. I also loved hearing that many of the staff have been there for more than a decade. That kind of longevity says a lot about the restaurant. A wonderful experience, and definitely a place I'd enjoy returning to.
