Tried out a bunch of different things from Grandone's menu. I love how they have a great variety from chicken to seafood options - sandwiches, chicken, wings, tenders and more. The staff were very welcoming and pleasant - 10/10 customer service! The chicken was delicious - flavourful and crispy! The spice level wasn't to high, so it was just perfect for me. My favourite sandwich was fish sandwich - so delicious and flavourful. The chicken sandwich was also delicious and juicy! The shrimp sandwich was my least favourite out of the three - even though it seems like the most popular! It's definitely something unique though - it was my first time trying a shrimp sandwich. The calamari rings were very crispy however a little thin - still really enjoyed it though! Great spot for a fried chicken meal!
This is a relatively new food stall which opened 2020-12-18. It is located in a food court in the "The Diamond at Don Mills" mall near Don Mills and York Mills. They obviously specialize in fried chicken but they have a few other food. The chicken pieces are much bigger than I expected! Some of the food is spicy but you can ask for original (mild) versions. There is a grand opening special of 50% off the entire order from Jan 5 to Feb 4 when ordered in person. So hurry before the promotion is over! We had the following: - 3 pc Crispy Chicken, $8.99 - 3 pc Chicken Tenders, $8.99 - 3 pc Spicy Chicken Wings - Chicken Sandwich, $7.99 - Shrimp Sandwich, $8.99 - Squid Rings, $6.99 My favourites are Crispy Chicken, Shrimp Sandwich, and Squid Rings because they were so tasty. The Crispy Chicken was indeed crispy with just the right spices and the chicken was juicy. The Shrimp Sandwich had the right combination of flavours including a sauce and corn. The Squid Rings were plump and just the right amount of chewiness and comes with a delicious dipping sauce. The Chicken Tenders and Chicken Sandwich have white meat so we're a little dryer and their dark meat. One interesting trivia is that the owners used to be food delivery people. They put a case of pop cans that are free for any food delivery people picking up orders. The staff were so very courteous and easy to converse with. There is free WiFi. Their WiFi is stronger and fast than the free WiFi at the food court. The restaurant is accessible with accessible parking in the parking lot for the mall. 2021-012
5+ stars for amazing customer service I had read another Yelper's review and saw that there was a 50% off promotion and decided to give it a try. Opening is listed as 11 am so when I got there just before 11:45 am I was surprised that it didn't look like they were open yet. Apparently they were running behind today and would be open at noon. The man told me that the promotion was over but since I was already there I asked if my order could be taken. After a bit of fiddling with their ordering and payment system and it not working the man wrote down my order instead and asked that I come back just after noon. When I went back there were some takeout bags on the counter so I went to inquire about my order. It'd be another few minutes and I was asked if I wanted mild or spicy fried chicken. There payment system was still not functioning and I didn't have any cash on me. They generously gave me the order on the house! I was in a bit of shock but told them I'd come back another time. I was pleasantly surprised with the shrimp sandwich. There were actual pieces of shrimp and even some veggies in it. I'm not a fan of a lot of sauce in a sandwich and they had just the right amount. I can't handle spicy food and I found that the spicy fried chicken wasn't spicy. It was more like a dusting of spices on top. The chicken was fried well with a crispy skin and juicy meat inside. The fries were the least favourite item. It could be that they weren't eaten immediately and cooled down on the way home.
This place is currently running a 50% promo until the end of the pandemic!! It's also a non-franchised small business so go, go, go support! I'm not usually a fan of fried food but they have best shrimp sandwich- I finished the whole thing in 2 minutes! I didn't really care for the breaded fish but their fried chicken was also pretty good! Service is also amazing, I highly recommend that you check them out!
Finally able to come by for some takeout after reading about this place. Plus friends of ours highly recommended us to give this place a try. They are located in the same plaza as the infamous ice cream joint I wrote a review sometime last year (Don Mills, south of York Mills). This place is new and in a food court that is at only 50% capacity. With the pandemic, all the tables and seats are taped off. But it's all good. So we came by to order some food and after browsing their menu, we decided to grab 4 pieces original flavour, a chicken sandwich original flavour and sweet potato fries + onion rings. After 15 mins or so wait, our food was ready. We grabbed it and drove at a "steady pace" home. When we got home, the chicken and the sandwich were still warm cause the packaging was done pretty decently. After 1st bite, the chicken was super juicy. And then I took a bite into the original chicken sandwich, the chicken was very juicy, and its HUGE! The meat tasted flavourful, and I can still taste the chicken. The fries and onion rings are alright? So there were 2 pieces of chicken for leftover, and we saved it for next day lunch. We popped the chicken into the air fryer. The chicken still came out juicy!!!! We were shocked! Leftover fried chicken still tasted like it was freshly out of the fryer. You guys are amazing! We are coming back.
During this pandemic, I am even more picky about my food options as I don't want to waste any of my calories! This is already my second time coming to Grandone. As I am typing this, I have to share my joy with my fellow Yelpers, I am eating my second shrimp burger. Totally worth the wait and getting fat for. The batter is light and as you bite into the burger, you can taste pieces of small shrimps with corn inside. The flavour is what makes it even more phenomenal, a little bit spicy with the thousand island sauce. For fast food, it's hard to find a lot of seafood options, but this is definitely the place! The shrimp burger is definitely a must try!
A new joint offering a 50% off all menu items spot opened up...well ya know where I'm going! It's located in a weird spot - inside a "food court" area in a strip mall on Don Mills. Lots of free parking, and you can wait inside while they prepare your order. Since they make it fresh, be prepared to wait 15-20. I ordered the Shrimp sandwich and the 3 piece spicy fried chicken. The Shrimp sandwich is pretty good - shrimp patty (there are real pieces of shrimp inside), cheese, thousand island sauce - make it the perfect after work bite. At half price I think I paid around $4. The fried chicken- the spicy isn't that spicy. It's like some spicy dust coating on it, not fried into the batter. The fried chicken is crispy and not greasy, and juicy. I even had a piece leftover for the next day and it retained it's crisp! For half price- definitely a good option. The staff person is so nice. It's a small place so I think maybe only 1-2 employees. Just been opened a month. Hopefully they can survive the next few months, it's tough out there for small restaurants!
I finally had a chance to visit this place for lunch, and I'm glad I did. They're still running their 50% off promo which is great! I got the chicken sandwich and onion rings. Chicken sandwich: pretty good, decent size chicken but I think it was dark meat? I didn't mind, just wasn't sure. Comes with cheese, lettuce and mayo. Onion rings: standard rings, hard to mess these up. I hope to get back here soon to try the shrimp sandwich, it looks like it might be the thing to get!
Location/Service This place is located in a new strip plaza (along Don Mills), right beside LA Fitness. It's inside a food court (next to Woffles and Cream). Plenty of parking and seating available - obviously can't do indoor seating right now, but nice to know it would be available in the future. Staff were friendly and nice - and I like how they have contactless payment. But it was very difficult trying to order via phone - the line was constantly jammed (even at different times), perhaps it was just the volume and the new promos they are introducing. Food Ordered the 3 pc crispy chicken (original). Loved it! The chicken pieces were big in size - the skin is crispy (like its name) while the meat is still juicy and tender. I also don't feel like overly fat/oily compared to other places that do fried chicken. Also tried the chicken sandwich - originally I wanted to order the shrimp one - but miscommunication through the masks. But nevertheless, it is also very good too - with similar tastes and consistently as the fried chicken. This place is a little out of reach for me - but it's nice to see there's more selection and variety near that area. Definitely will have to come back to try the Shrimp Sandwich in the future
Right now they're having everything except drinks & sides at 50% off so it's great value. But at normal price not everything is worth getting (possibly the promotion affected quality). It's probably safer to stick to the shrimp sandwich, fries & onion rings. In the combos you can change one drink to a side or vice versa, which is welcome flexibility. 2 piece chicken: The chicken was alright. It came with free gravy, which was nice, but the gravy was mediocre - even on its own it didn't have much flavour. Sides are cheap - $1.99 for a regular side & the fries were a good size for the price. The fries were good - crispy & dusted so they had some texture. The onion rings were pretty good. They had quite a thick batter. The coleslaw salad was so-so: a bit raw with a generic dressing flavour that didn't penetrate the vegetables. Shrimp sandwiches aren't common. Theirs was good - crispy & full of whole shrimp, which were quite bouncy. There was not a lot of filler. They give free dips here (but you don't get to choose from all the sauces on the list - I haven't figured out the rationale for which sauces you get free). Kraft sweet & sour was very gingery. The BBQ sauce was on the sharper side, with a prominent vinegar note. It was quite flavourful.
Always glad to have more options in the area. It's in this food court that's never really gotten going since it's opening, but that's another review. Chicken was pretty decent. Spicy wasn't that spicy. They cook to order so be prepared to wait.
Grandone recently has been the talk in the Toronto food blogger community for the past month, so I though it was time to make a visit to see what the hype is all about. Grandone offers a selection of comfort food items ranging from fried chicken, sandwiches (fish, chicken, even shrimp), and seafood. For a place that prides itself in their fried chicken, I couldn't resist trying them out. The seasoning on the chicken was solid, I felt the meat could have been seasoned more as the taste was suble upon each bite. The skin was fried had a nice crunch with a hint of sweetness to offset the paprika. The chicken tenders were moist and juicy, which is not an easy feat to achieve with white meat. The fried sole filets were flaky and not overcooked. The shrimp sandwich was a unique combination of plump pieces of nicely cooked shrimp with peas and corn adding a pleasant texture to the patty. The staff at this place were very friendly and courteous, even as the orders started to pile in for the dinner rush. They always ensured to update customers who have been patiently waiting for their orders, which is a nice gesture on them to ensure each customer gets freshly prepared food. They now offer a 50% special off everything on their menu until February 28, 2021. So, be sure to check them out!
Reason for Visit: Saw the new fried chicken 50% promotion with super high reviews so decided to give it a try. Their promo ends at end of Jan 2021. Menu: I got their 16 pieces fried chicken special + fish burger. Fried chicken- it was a crispy light crunch. Not as oily and spicy as Popeyes. I enjoyed it, I felt it was less greasy too. However, I definitely still think Popeyes is more flavorful. As other Yelpers mentioned the pieces were huge. Fish burger- the piece of fish was huge! My bun did get a bit destroyed, but it is okay. Taste was on point. Service: Unfortunately, it was very tough to even get a hold of them to place an order over the phone. However, I would encourage others to be patient as they are very busy right now. Overall: Highly recommend. I hope they extend their 50% promo! Will try to visit again to try their other flavors.
Was craving a niice juicy fried chicken and didn't feel like going to big franchises so we researched and found Grandone. It's located inside a food court that has a bunch of other restaurants. The service was really nice and i like that it came with plastic gloves cause you know how messy eating fried chicken can be. We got the 3 piece with fries and the fried chicken was made fresh to order. One bite into the chicken and it was so juicy and flavourful. It definitely hit the spot. The fries were amazing and the gravy was delicious also. We will be coming back! read more
Grandone Chicken serves up Asian-style fried comfort food. Opening during the pandemic, they had a hot deal going based on the rave reviews. Somehow we didn't get the hype memo, as our order was far from a grand one. I'm glad the business is doing well so I'm sharing an honest opinion of the fried chicken and shrimp sandwich. The staff was surprised to have business on a weekend afternoon, and just sat under the cash register. Within our order, the fried shrimp sandwich came loaded in a crunchy patty with beans & veggies inside toasted buns. I was anticipating a good bite; the only problem was that it was rock hard without much flavour. Since I don't like wasting food, I didn't toss it out. The spicy chicken was crispy and seasoned well similar to Taiwanese fried chicken. Its only drawback was that the spice seasoning was quite salty. Not as ultra crispy as Taiwanese night market chicken but it'll do. One benefit of this location is that dessert is only a stone's throw away. The nearby Wooffles & Cream stall is always busy. The rest of this quiet food court seemed to have fallen on harder times during the pandemic though a return to office may help boost lunch business. However, we'll be getting our fried chicken fix from elsewhere at a similar price point. read more
TL:DR = Duh... you're missing out on a Classic PeterM review! I know... there are going to be a bunch of you that might wonder what I am doing with a 5-STAR here! Some of you who know me as a Foodie, and who has enjoyed top restaurant foods, are scratching away on your heads - stop... you've now pierced scalp! LOL! No need to hurt yourself... just have a read. I've been here more than a few times. I love the story behind the place. Their willingness to listen and take pointers from customers and people that know the food industry. Their struggle to be relevant in the times of Covid and business challenges. The friends that got together and had a dream to setup an independent place that serves good food. I've had the opp to meet and chat with Charles and Will. Friends that decided that they are going to make a go of it. They spent months practicing their craft and recipes. Many of their personal friends were involved in tasting the food to ensure that taste and portion would work. OH... Did I mention they have the BEST DEAL in TOWN too!?! 50% off all food orders all the way through this pandemic! Not that I want Covid to drag but this deal is so AWESOME! [insert weak but maniacal chuckle hear} Their chicken is fresh! They cook your order fresh - expect to wait! The chicken comes out of the fryer and packed. You might experience foodlock "basically steam from food cooling in your package and making things a little soggy" so they have been leaving the box open to let some of the steam out. A simple solution to this... drop the chicken in the air fryer for a few mins! Hot and Fresh all over again! Oh... the chicken here is GOOD! And everytime I go there, I feel like a caveman eating dinosaur chicken! No wimpy pigeon here my friends! AND get your order SPICY!!!! A fan fav here is their Shrimp Burger. So many times people have told me that they ran out of it. Look, they only make so many per day and if it's gone... it means you got lazy and that's something I can't help you with! :D Chicken Strips are good sized and I've asked them to come up with a signature dipping sauce - I hope they get some soon! Yum! For Fish peeps, they do have a Fish Burger and it is good too! Then again, if you are going to a place call Grandone Chicken - you might want to try their Chicken First. Just say'n! Reminds me of people going to a burger joint because they want a salad. Ugh... shoot me now! OK... now to address some of the peeps out there. KEEP in MIND that this is a food court and not your Michelin Star Resto! For F!#K sakes, temper your expectations. I had a few people talk about service and blunders on orders. One ... they just opened. Two... a pandemic is going on and they are doing the best they can. Three... they are trying to cook things fresh for you! It will take time! And so on...so on... If you are looking for white glove service in a food court, you missed your calling... as a food taster for Putin (let that one sink in)! -.- I stand by my rating! If I didn't feel it, I would not have sent family and friends to Grandone! If you are going to have some Chicken today with the Best Deal in Town, make it a GRAND ONE at Grandone! CHEERS!!! read more

Surprised! 5 stars out of 5 This is the best non-franchised fried chicken I ever had. After seeing so many excellent reviews, I had to give this try. There was a promo at ubereats for 2 for 1 as well! I order a 3 piece mild, 3 piece spicy, 2 fish sandwiches, sweet potatoes fries and coleslaw. Chicken - still very crispy after delivery! The pieces were very generous. The mild was well seasoned and the spicy was just right amount of heat. It also comes with gravy which was good as well. Fish sandwich - was surprisingly delicious! The fish patty was made of real fish, I can see the actual fish flakes. Sweet potato fries - the large portion was very generous. It was not too greasy at all! Coleslaw - lightly creamed, not mushy at all. Overall, I would definitely order again! read more
Truthfully, I jumped on the 50% off hype when Grandone Chicken first opened and ate there for 3 consecutive weekends in a row (probably would've given them 5 stars after my first visit). But after my third visit, I never went back. Pros: Portion and cost. For 50% off, it's hard to go wrong. At my first visit, I was getting delicious large juicy pieces of chicken and even the sandwich had a big piece of chicken that was great value. However, both of these things were temporary. I noticed by my second and third visit that the pieces were getting smaller and for the "4pc", they were giving 3 drumsticks:1 breast instead of the usual 2:2. The seasoning was also poorly distributed as one piece would have none while the other piece would be over-dusted. That being said, I felt that it was still a pretty decent option at 50% off but I just don't think it'll have the same attraction once the 50% off is over. Cons: Consistency and following instructions. My first visit took over a 1 hour wait and I think the employees had somehow lost my order because they couldn't find their copy of my receipt (when I showed them my copy). The second and third visit, they had either completely ignored my instructions (i.e. it was hand-written on their copy of the receipt "no sauce" and they still put sauce) or completely left out an item (i.e. when I opened the takeout bag in my car, an entire 4pc box was missing)!! I do believe staff were all flustered with more orders than they could handle because of the 50% off promotion but instead of slowing down their intake, they attempted to play "catch up" which led to several experiences for me that were all quite lackluster and frankly, a bit frustrating. Overall, I felt that my dining experiences with them got progressively worse with each visit so I stopped going. Also, this has nothing to do with them but I feel like you can only have fast food fried chicken and processed cheese/mayonnaise so many times before you get sick of it! I believe after their "initial" 50% off promotion period ended, they brought it back indefinitely so if you're in the area and craving some budget fried chicken, I'd still say go for it! read more
Granduer Chicken and Seafood Feast at @grandone_ Grandone is the new fried chicken joint that has become the talk-of-the-town for its delicious fried chicken and seafood fiesta. Even if you've tried it once, I bet you'll be ready for another round What all I tried: Crispy Chicken Drumsticks: Marinated in black peppery batter, drumsticks were soft, crunchy and comes coated with right about to spices the way you like it. Brings a lot of Asian flavours in each bite. Fried Chicken Tenders: These tenders are buttermilk marinated and are the big day of the crispy drumsticks Calamari/ Squid Rings: The rings were crispy and juicy on the outside and soft and tender on the inside and went perfectly with the creamy garlic and spicy sauce Signature Shrimp Sandwich : This is undisputedly the best pick from the entire menu. The sando comes with mighty shrimp patty (something I've never seen before) wrapped in cheese and ranch which was Incredibly delicious and crispy. Don't Miss: In-House Gravy: The gravy is freshly prepared in the kitchen with their secret recipe and goes a good side with the drumsticks and the tenders. Guess what, they are offering a 50% off on their entire food menu except sides and drinks. So do check out their IG page for more details. This new fried chicken spot that located inside the Diamonds' food court at Don Mill Plaza offers wide range of menu include fried chicken, as well as seafood selections - squid rings, fried fish, and shrimp sandwich Tried their fried chicken, both regular and spicy; if you like a little kick, definitely recommend the spicy one! I love the crispy skin, crunch, juicy & succulent meat, well seasoned, and most importantly not greasy!! The seafood items are a good addition to the fried chicken! And the Shrimp Sandwich is exceptional! Shrimp patty, cheese, and thousand island all wrapped in a buttery brioche buns. Let me tell you! It has a whole lot of flavor, perfect texture and some nice big chunks of shrimp!!!. It surely will become one of your favorite sandwich This is my first time trying shrimp sandwich and I instantly love it! New fried chicken business alert !!! I saw all over social media of the 50% off deal for FRIED CHICKEN. Who can say no to fried chicken especially at 50% off! Ordered through the phone, took a few tries to get through but the guy over the phone was very nice and apologetic! We ordered for pick up at 6:30 and we got our food on time. The guy was very friendly and accommodating! We even asked for extra sauce and the powder and we was quite generous with it! The chicken was juicy but could be a little bit more crispy. The sides we got were sweet potatoes fries and squid rings. The squid rings were really good and crispy!! We also tried the tenders but they were a bit dry imo. Overall, I think it was good but they still have some tweaks to make. I will come back. And would recommend others to try. Support small businesses ! read more
Okay you might think you have to come here for the chicken...but there is one thing I always get and that's the shrimp burger with sweet potato fries. I must say I am bias because shrimp is my favorite food but this burger is heavenly for me! I have never had a dish like it and both my friends and family I told to purchase it enjoyed it. I'll definitely try the chicken next time as I heard good things about it but this burger is a 10/10!! I called ahead as they are busy and would recommend you calling too. read more
This place caught my eye on the F.O.D. app because they were doing 50% off all orders. Apparently they've only been open for a week or so, and this special is on until maybe the end of January. They give you the discount across other apps or if you order in person. Got the 3 piece chicken and requested all dark meat, 2 pieces non-spicy, 1 piece spicy. To be honest, when I first saw the made product, I was worried it'd be dry because it looked a little overdone. Boy was I wrong! The 3 pieces were huge, with very crispy skin and surprisingly juicy and tender meat inside. I originally got this to go with leftover pasta at home, but I was so full already after eating the chicken on its own. The spicy chicken is only mildly spicy, but still delicious. For those of you who are familiar with the Calbee brand of potato chips, it kind of tastes like their Hot and Spicy flavour. I'll definitely come back next time I crave fried chicken! read more
Crispy, fresh, had the original and spicy for the fried chicken. Also tried the wings, chicken tender, shrimp burger, fish burger and the calamari. My favorite is the shrimp burger. The spicy is not too spicy, remind me more of the shin instant noodle spicy favour. I really like their batter for the chicken though. The staff told me that they prepare their food in the morning everyday. So it's like made fresh daily in the morning. read more
Really really wanted to give this a better review because their chicken and squid rings were amazing but unfortunately had to wait 2 HOURS. The cashier told us to come back in 30 mins, so we did. When we came back, everyone who has ordered after us got their orders before we did!!!!!! Not until we asked after another 30 mins did they make our order which took another hour. No matter how good the food is, I don't want to wait 2 hours by the store. Hoping their customer service improves because I really liked their food and hoping it's just a new business learning the ropes and they'll improve. read more

Saw their promo pop up on Uber Eats so I decided to give it a shot. Honestly, it's really bad. I'm not the type of person to complain online or make a report about food being bad unless it's missing stuff or damaged. This is actually my first time writing a review. But this is just so bad. The drumstick is filled with tendon and I can only barely chew through some of it. I don't know how they picked their meat or how they made it but it's so awful. I had to constantly spit out skin or tendon that can't be chewed down. Had to throw it after after trying 3 drumstick/wings read more

What better way to celebrate the weekend with a feast with Grand One. I have tried Grand One_ earlier this year and was super impressed with their fish burger and their fried chicken. I love how crispy the coating is of the chicken but yet the batter isn't too thick and hard. The chicken is succulent and juicy and not dry! The items that I tried this time around were the Shrimp burger, Chicken burger, Fish burger and 4 pc of chicken (spicy/non spicy) and of course their delicious gravy for dipping. Each burger was super juicy and of course very very big! I could barely unhinge my jaw to bite into these monsters! My favorite of course is still their fish burger but the shrimp burger is a close second! My gosh it was so flavorful and juicy and blended perfectly with the melted Cheddar cheese and mayo. They are currently celebrating their grand opening of their 3rd location at 384 Yonge Street so check it out and you get 10% off!! read more

There's a new spot in town! Grand One offers crispy, juicy, and flavourful fried chicken and to spice it up, they're offering % their entire menu until the pandemic ends! While you're there, try their shrimp sandwich too - very thick and yummy shrimp and chicken patty read more
50% off until the pandemic ends! What an epic deal. This is such a great takeout spot, located in a foodcourt in north york. The fried chicken and chicken strips are delicious, especially the ones covered in the spicy powder! It wasn't super crunchy when I had it, but it was definitely very flavorful. I would definitely return to try it again. read more

I wanted to love this as much as everyone else but it was just OK. I came here while they were having their 50% off promotion because my friend hyped it up. We drove separately because of COVID, and she had a large order for her family and I only got the shrimp sandwich because she said it was a must try. She ordered first and they let her know that it would be an hour wait!!! I figured I might as well wait too because I had already made the trip out there lol. It ended up taking over an hour and when I got home the sandwich was already pretty soggy, but I'm sure it would've been much better fresh. I'm sure they're still working out the kinks in their system but I probably wouldn't go back soon until the hype dies down. read more
Went here because they're having 50% off in January, I think their quality is like Popeyes standard. I paid 24.85 for 16pc, 4sides (you can choose sweet potato fries/ onion rings with no extra charges) and two large drink. With this price, I have very saitisfied with their food lol. The one BIG down side is that you have to order early and I don't mean 15minutes earlier, I meant 60minutes. Because they're very slow, don't expect to be able to wait at the food court. May be after the promotion, they might not have as much traffic then the line will be a lot smoother. I called at 11am sharp so I was actually their first client of tand can get my order within 30minutes and when I arrived there were a good 10 orders after me. The staff was already telling people who ordered to expect 60minute wait. read more
Not sure why they are getting 5 stars....maybe because of their 50% off promotion deal but I've been here twice and I wasn't really blown away by any of items. My first visit the chicken was cold like it was sitting out for a while and their onion rings are not my cup of tea....I prefer onion rings from Harvey's or Johnny's hamburger, but that's just my preference of the type of batter I like for my rings. The coleslaw was meh. If they are still having the deal, I may try it and give it another chance, third times the charm? read more
