I feel like some of these people are misleading since they never even met the sales team. We completely understand how it may sound pushy to have both people there, but for us we only schedule appts of we can both be there anyway. Also, they didn't push us to have both of us there either, they just asked if we could schedule to arrange it that way. Not a big deal for us. We both had questions we wanted answers for. We had a canvassor approach us and he scheduled an appt for the next day. Michael came out on time, he was professional and personable and not one bit pushy. He roughly measured all windows, and gave us ideas on how to save money by changing window styles. He didn't upsell anything, which we appreciated. He then gave us multiple quotes for different sets of windows, explained a lot about windows and their differences, and despite the fact that most people cheap out, he explained the benefit of cheap windows over higher end versions such as Renewal windows. He didn't spend any time bashing any other company or style of windows, which we're used to and don't care for. If you have to talk crap about another company to make a sale, you're not doing a good job yourself. In the end, the windows are outside our budget. Which, Michael was also up front about the second he walked in. We were curious and wanted to know more about windows, so we still asked for a quote. We are considering them for just our front windows (we're ripping out the ones in the back and replacing them with doors) but they are pretty expensive for our area. Most still have original windows or went with cheap vinyl. So, in the end the downside is the price. If we were going to stay in this house forever, these are the guys we would probably use. Since we're planning on selling or renting it out, we're going to go with less expensive ones. Not cheap vinyl, but still significantly less. I will say that with all the research we did, it came up quite often that these were great windows and built to last. I just don't consider benefits to be worth the extreme amount of additional cost. Oh, which reminds me, he didn't once push the "cost savings". It'll take 20 years for people to recoup money and its a bs marketing tactic. He only talked about the quality and best warranty we've heard so far. We're also having solar panels out on in a few weeks, so "energy cost savings" means nothing to us. We experienced no hard selling or pushy phone calls. They have us an additional 5% off If we committed that day, which we were worried he'd spoil every thing and try to get us to commit because of that, but he mentioned what it was for, we said we're not ready to commit, he printed out the quote for everything without it, and let us know how to contact him if we had any questions. If we receive any future calls trying to hard sell us we'll let you know. But these 1 star reviews are ridiculous. They are expensive windows, but high quality. If that's what you want, give these guys a call. If you're afraid of sales people, tell them to send Michael Lambard. We also went to the HGTV show, where these guys were, and none of them were pushy, but a lot of other window companies were. read more

I had a terrible experience with this company. I wanted to give them a try due to the Andersen reputation, but every experience I had when talking with an employee was negative. They asked for a 60 - 90 minute meeting. After 2 hours I had to ask the man to leave. I felt strongly pressured to make a decision regarding a large purchase within that initial meeting. I had a bad experience with a follow-up conversation which was about 16 hours later and I asked they not call me again. Within 2 hours I recieved another phone call from a VP. During that call I asked they never email me again. Months later and I am still getting frequent emails. Save yourself the frustration and don't call for an appointment. I would really hesitate to do business with them given how they treated me as a prospective customer. read more

These guys are horrible. I made a request online for a virtual quote. I got a call (expected) to set that up, during the call the person was reading from a script and made several attempts to get me to have someone come to my house versus the method I requested. Despite having ALREADY made that choice in my initial request. Then my request was for windows quotes and during the set-up I said I had 7 windows and a sliding door. After setting the time I thought I was all set and ready to go and was looking forward to having a professional contact me on the set time. Then this morning I get a call from a person who wants to make sure I am all set for the quote session. She then questions me on what device I have whether I have a tape measure and if I know how to use same. Okay I can understand the need for those questions. BUT why the heck did that not get asked in the initial call? Then she tells me that I am ONLY getting a quote for a sliding door. So the initial call was completely and totally a waste of my time. So this company thinks so little of their customer base that they cannot even call them to set up the initial appointment, they have a 3rd party with no knowledge of the business do this and they give that company a script to read to you. Then on top of that the company they hire (lowest bidder) cannot even enter the information properly and they do not do all that is needed in that initial call. Instead Renewal by Anderson has to call you themselves (which if they cared they would do in the first place) to complete the set-up of the actual appointment a quote. THESE GUYS ARE SO UNCONCERNED THAT THEY CANNOT EVEN CALL YOU THEMSELVES THEY PAY SOMEONE ELSE TO DO IT INSTEAD. LAZY AND USELESS. read more

I can't say enough "good" about Andersen. Wife and I had been researching windows for well over 12 months. We talked to Pella, Sears, Window World, and some independent installers that resell various types of windows. We were petrified to pull the trigger for fear of hating the windows we chose, or having that "nightmare install" story everyone has seen. Jon Beno in the Scottsdale office was spectacular, and very patient. We had an initial meeting, and Jon quoted a partial-house install, as well as the full house. He left, and my wife and I agonized for months about the cost. Jon checked in with us periodically, leaving us voice mail but not pressuring us, just checking in and asking us to call whenever we were ready. Jon came back months later at our behest, and spent another 3 hours with us answering questions, talking about financing/payment, etc... my final "jab" was to ask why we should pay the price we were being asked to pay when I had read many reviews online saying the Home Depot Andersen windows were the EXACT SAME WINDOWS that Renewal was selling. Jon spent another hour with us, showing us the differences in features, quality, etc... and was fully willing to walk out the door that day, again, without making a sale. My wife and I talked for another 15 mins as Jon went outside to give us some privacy. We went ahead and pulled the trigger, and waited 10 weeks for the 2 custom windows, 2 split picture/slider windows, and one French slider patio door. I was out of town when these were installed, and my wife called to tell me how amazing the entire install team was, even framing out two custom windows for us because we had completely renovated the room they were in, having no existing sheet rock finish and framing. Installers were nice, professional, and went way above and beyond in cleaning up leaving the work space in better shape than it was before the install. To top it all off, the screens were "taped" to the window frame when they shipped and when the tape was peeled off, some of the paint chipped on the screens showing the silver metal below. Andersen promptly came back out, looked at the screens, and just on the spot ordered replacement screens to "make it right" and several weeks later came back to replace them. The price? Yes, the price is VERY high, but honestly of all the home renovation money I've spent, I've never been so happy to spend THAT MUCH MONEY for the quality I got in product, and service. All the way from Jon Beno (sales) down to the individual contributors (installers). High quality product, very professional service... I just can't say enough as to how happy we are. We have another 10-12 windows to replace, and cant' wait to get some money saved up to get the rest of the house done. The insulation value of the windows alone is amazing, reducing temps in the rooms they were installed in by a solid 10 degrees (measured), and they block a LOT of noise from the airplanes flying over near Scottsdale regional airport to the cars speeding up and down our road. I think that some people are missing the point here. It's a good business practice to set up appointments the way that they do. When we were shopping for windows, several other companies had the same requirements. However, none of these companies had what Anderson had, the amazing product to back it up. The in-home demonstration is a fairly intense event, I could see how they would only want to do that once and have you both available to make your decision at the time. Of course, you do not have to say yes during that first demo. You have the option of declining or accepting at a later date. I live in Arizona. Our heat eats vinyl windows. The design of the Anderson windows beat out everyone. The quality that Anderson has is second to none. We purchased windows for our entire home. It did take a while to receive the windows, because they are produced custom for your home. We had them installed today, and I cannot say enough wonderful things about their installation team. We had a four person crew at our home working hard all day. They were professional, friendly, and very hard-working. They knew their craft and it showed. I was so impressed with them I cannot say enough about that. The windows are amazing enough but the whole process was professional, educational, and very satisfying. I would totally recommend this company and this product to anyone. read more

This is the biggest rip off I've ever known. After receiving advertisement from Renewal by Andersen, I called them to find out if they could replace a small door in my home. A receptionist told me they could not help me because they only work on larger doors. I cancelled. The next morning, a man with Andersen showed up unannounced at my front door. He claimed no knowledge of my cancellation and he asked to see the door. I let him in, he saw the door and said he could replace it. However, everything they wanted to remove on my door was everything I loved. "Gino" asked for the password to my Laptop which I did not give him. I was transferred to his sales manager, Mark Lewis who bullied me, threatened to put a lean on my home and hung up on me. No small door should cost $10,000, $7,000, $6,000 and no door knob should cost $700.00 as I was told by them. Perhaps the door Mark Lewis so insistently tried to force on me was a door already made long before I called, leaning against a wall somewhere collecting dust. There were also several unnecessary phone calls made by people representing this company that I finally asked to please stop due to their calls becoming a form of harassment. Had Hans Andersen been alive today, I wonder how he would feel about the disrespectful way a sales manager representing his reputable company, treated a potential client, retired and on a fixed income. Although the cost was over this amount, all I ask for is to be refunded $3,000. I realize I made horrible mistake trusting this company. As a Christian woman, I must forgive. Ordered a door and was installed in Sept 2 2022. I part needed to be replaced and they didn't have it in the warehouse. I got an email from sales person Ed saying I should be hearing from them soon. That was about 2 weeks after. So i contacted the him at the start of November. He said they had been leaving messages but I wasn't returning calls. Checked my phone and no calls or voice mails. So contacted the end of November and he sent me a paper showing she called the 11 i went through my phone no calls. So he offered me the 12th of December, I gave him my phone to make sure that they were calling the right number. It is the 9th and haven't heard a thing. I contact this morning and I'm sure they will say the called and left a message. NO THEY HAVE NOT. I know cause i'm dealing with health issues and my phone is will me all the time. Now the next week I have to go back to work, not time to leave work because what I am missing. Bottom line is once you have paid the bill they could care less and lie all the time. Run for your life especially if you ELDERLY AND ALONE. They pry on us. I would recommend anyone but them. read more

I purchased a large 8'x6' window and it was expensive. $4300.00 and lots of grief from the poor installers. I had 3 sets of screens ordered for the window and none of them fit over the course of 4 months. Then, I took my 4 foot level out and saw that the bottom rail of the window wasn't level. I call their service supervisor and he came out to verify the unlevel window. They had to order a new window frame and uninstall and install the window again. After 6 months of grief the window and screens finally worked and were level and aligned. I wouldn't recommend the installers since I was the one that found the problem.....very poor installation but a good window I guess since it's expensive. I wish they would STOP sending their advertisements since I WILL NOT BUY ANOTHER WINDOW FROM THIS COMPANY!!!! read more

We are very impressed with the quality of the patio door which was recently installed. I would like to give four or even five stars but it is the lack of follow-up customer service which keeps me from doing so. I contacted the installers directly, shortly after they left, and requested they return for a minor issue. I spoke with one of the guys who said they would have to call me back. I waited all day. No return call. I called back in the late afternoon and no one picked up. Same thing the next morning. I called the 800 number and had to leave a message. Three days later, still no return call. I had to fix the problem myself. For the price we paid for this door, they should have sent a team of guys out to fix an issue created by their own installers. They are great at selling you a product but it appears that once they get your money, you no longer exist. read more

I called Renewal by Anderson to arrange a salesperson to come to my home and give me a quote on replacing 14 windows. At first the conversation was normal questions concerning the project. Then it abruptly turned intrusive, with the sales person wanting to know how many people lived in the home and who was also authorized to make decisions. When I told him I owned the home and I made the decisions, he would not take that as an answer. He continued to ask me the same question over and over again, with a lame explanation that they needed to know who else could make decisions concerning the project. I finally told him I would not be going any further with them and ended the call. Their intrusive questions into a customers privacy would make me never use this company. read more

Bottom line she discouraged me from using them because she said I would not see a return on my investment because their windows cost $1,700 each. They were professional, informative and extremely patient (I tend to ask a LOT of questions). There was no pressure to purchase, although we did, they would have walked away, without a sale and been ok with it - or at least that is how it felt. We had new patio doors installed by RBA last year at our home in Fountain Hills. They were the largest size RBA manufactures. Our sales rep, Joe, configured the perfect solution for our needs. The technical measurer, Tyler, was extremely professional. And words cannot adequately express how incredible our installation team was, led by Andray (I wish I had the name of the other team members, as they were all fantastic). We LOVE the doors. One year later, we just had another 3 patio doors and 3 windows replaced yesterday! We asked for the same personnel and got them. Same outstanding results. We couldn't be happier. read more

I had an appointment on June 7, 2017 with salesman John Beno who gave me a very high pressure sales pitch and would not take "no" for an answer when I told him I would not sign that day while he was in my home. He refused to leave or stop pressuring me until I signed his contract. Immediately after he left, I called my bank and put a stop payment on my check. I was 70 when this occurred so I've had plenty of exposure to high sales tactics but this was the worse I've ever experienced. read more

I guess what has inspired me to write this review is the constant advertising by this company and what they boast . . . affordable, no pressure sales, no disruption in your home. This is far from our experience, which, granted was over 5 years ago at a home we sold in 2020. Not affordable, we were told on the day they came for the presentation that the "special offer" of that day would not be honored past that day, so we succumbed. (Stupid consumer move on our part.) Then the demolition of our existing windows was horrific and disturbed our wall strength. We ended up with many cracks in our drywall, not small, but big ones that had to be repaired by a professional drywaller, painted, etc. I think it even affected our foundation. So, when I see these commercials over and over, I just have to roll my eyes and think of the over $30k for 14 windows---never again. There must be other products out there that are comparable, for a much more affordable price. Buyers be ware! read more

It was a completely awful experience. March 14 I was scheduled for an install of 4 windows at 8am after waiting 6 months for them to be made and this appointment to be scheduled. 10 am still nothing. Called the company and they told me they had truck problems and would still be here by 1. 1 o'clock same thing. This happened several times. I kept getting told they were on their way. Mind you I had surgery scheduled for the next day!!!! Finally about 5 pm they arrived. 2 guys. Worked for an hour and one guy left. Then an hour later the rest showed up. The job didn't get finished and my house was left disheveled. On top of it one of my new windows got broken. Along with an old window getting smashed and broken glass was left all over when I have 4 children. Mind you again- surgery on the 15th. On the 17th they came and cleaned up and finished the windows while I was in so much pain and recovering from surgery. It was such an inconvenience to have them banging around when I wanted to rest. Oh wait. They gave me a 100 dollar gift card for my inconvenience. That doesn't even cover the day of lost wages waiting around for them on the 14. It's basically a slap in the face after spending as much money as these windows cost. I've been told my new window won't be in until April 5 and then they will schedule when they can come put it in. I made an appointment with Renewal after receiving a flyer in the mail. I am in the process of a remodel and need to replace 2 standard size patio doors and a standard size front door. At Home Depot, I was quoted $1,900.00/patio door + install. I had a custom iron and glass front door with side lights quoted for the front entry at $5,600. After calling me everyday for a week and then confirming our appointment 3 times, a sales person came to my home. I was quoted $47,000 and some change for two 72" x 80" french patio doors and a matching from door with side lights. I was floored. That was a waste of my time. I hope people don't think that is what doors cost, because it is not. read more

I had eleven windows replaced by Renewal by Anderson recently. They were supposed to do them all in one day. They arrived on time to do the replacement, near the end of the day they told me they didn't have the material to install the last window. Now I had to schedule another day. Had they told me up-front, I would not have let them start. It was three weeks until it was finally "done". They left a role of some kind of plastic material in my home, several pieces of channeling in my lawn, at last 18 screws around the house, including three in the driveway. They over cut a window, leaving saw marks in the stucco, and on one window failed to seal it completely. They damaged plants around a window that I had specifically asked their sales person about being a problem. His answer, "no problem". I had a visit from a service manger type person who apologized profusely last week and told me someone would call to schedule a fix, but now several days later, I haven't received a call from anyone at Renewal. This week, I'll fill in the stucco problem they left behind. read more

Asking the same questions that they asked during the first 30 minute inquisition. If their estimate process is like the appointment process it must be an extremely high pressure sale. My husband and I have used Renewal by Andersen previously a few years ago for our windows and they did a wonderful job. That's why we decided to use them again for our sliding glass door and it had been a complete nightmare! Horrible installation, defective product. they sent an inspector out who deemed it necessary to completely replace the whole thing. 30 minutes before our appointment they call to tell us a part is "back ordered " no way do we believe they knew this 30 minutes before our appointment. Then it has taken almost 6 months to get the replacement door. Again 30-50 minutes prior to our appointment they say someone had a Covid exposure. They did not try to get another crew to take their place and have tried to make us wait another month! We have been calling and calling and a manager does not even have the courtesy to call and speak to us. This is been a horrible experience and I would not recommend this company anymore. They have given us the runaround and it's very rude and unprofessional! read more

The product is good. The installation was smooth. The price is high but the long warranty and ability to transfer the warranty are good features. The scheduling and availability of post installation service has not been anywhere near as professional as the installation. The first service call was scheduled for weeks after the request. Then the tech never made it on the scheduled day. I was only notified of the fact that the tech wasn't coming when I called after the appointment time had been missed. Now I have a defective door closing device and the "soonest available" service is one month from today. So I have a new door installation, which was part of an extensive and expensive project, and which doesn't work and can't be fixed for 1 month. These people are a joke, they charged me $8000.00 for 1 window and a patio door, they brag about making their own product, but our patio door is still warped from original installation, they ordered new replacement and tech called day of installation and said the replacement was damaged, now they are making another one so here goes another 30 days. Had them come out to replace weatherstripping on casement windows that had dried and come off. This was under warranty. They came out in august2000 to look at it. Scheduled for replacement oct 14, they came out, wrong product. Reorder and will have manager inspect product, rescheduled for Saturday Jan 9, 2021. No show, and they are closed on saturdays. Left vm, someone got back to me at 5:30pm, they are short staffed "sorry". Rescheduled for Jan 29, WRONG WEATHERSTRIPPING, AGAIN! Rescheduled for March 15, NOT ENOUGH PRODUCT TO DO JOB!!! I gave them benefit of the doubt before posting this, but this is ridiculous! I have arranged my time to their timeframes, to get this done. I don't think they are going to finish the job and honor the warranty. They talk a big game on selling the product, "we're the only one's who make this special window product" , and office people nice on phone, but what a ruse! The salesman was super! He could sell A parka to a desert dweller! He is good! We placed our order for three windows that were larger than the original, many months in advance from when we needed them because we were going to have the whole house restuccoed and wanted them installed before the stucco guys got here. They were scheduled to come out a month before the stucco guys. The job was supposed to take two days. The windows showed up on time but everything went downhill from there. Nothing wrong with windows as far as I can tell. They seem high quality, but the install was amateurish in the extreme! They framed the windows out of square by one inch on all three windows. Also, when they cut the old sill out, they left about a half inch of the old 2 x 6 sticking out into the window frame on each side and actually trimmed the window trim prices to go around the 2 x6 that was sticking out. They somehow managed to get the windows installed. Next day their drywall guy came out and found the out of square situation and just shook his head in disbelief about 2 x 6's sticking out. Then things really went downhill. Anderson came back out and corrected the issues. But trying to get the drywall guy back was not easy . Meanwhile Anderson is constantly trying to get full payment. I became the manager, as when I called them they seemed to have no clue what was scheduled or even where the project stood. The drywall guy finally got done two weeks later. Now for the stucco...he came looked at it and said he'd b back with materials. Never came back. Next guy came and worked for ten minutes and then left and never came back. By now our whole house stucco guys showed up and set up scaffolding around our whole house. The next Anderson stucco came and and suggested to just let our other stucco guys do the work. He said that he will just let Anderson pay him for the work and then he would pass the money on to our other stucco guys! Riiight!!! So, I called Anderson and they agreed to knock of $500 and our other stucco guys would finish the work. I just wanted them out of my life! So I agreed. Interior painter was good. I would have given them one star if they didn't take off the $500. I will say that while all this was going on everything was very cordial and polite. The three windows were $12000! I would never use this company again. One additional item.. just figured out our alarm system no longer works and it is showing the new windows that are the problem. They cut the wires and shoved them into the wall. Looks like our new drywall will b torn into. read more

I should have visited here first. I have a broken sliding glass door and just wanted to replace it with french doors. A bit of an emergency since our auto-close device has pulled the frame off the back of the sliding door and it seems the door is barely holding together. We will not be using RBA becasue I couldn't even get throught the appointment scheduling phase. You'll see when you call. Even for this one problem they wanted 90mins for what I assume is a marketing push for their services or explain their cost. Not sure as we didn't get that far. It seems they are really proud of this presentation and explain how they will walk you through the mysterious window ordering process and become your window I simply wanted a quick, relatively emergency repair and it felt like I was signing up for a time share half way through the interview. When they wanted, or demanded, that both my wife and I be there for the quote, I said that wouldn't happen. I told her we both weren't going to take off time from work just for a quote to get 1 door replaced. That seemed to be a deal breaker for the quote and I saw no reason to continue and hung up. read more

Called them today to schedule an appointment for an estimate to replace 4 windows. I was told they would like 90 minutes of my time at the appointment. I agreed to that. However, I was absolutely flabbergasted when I was told all INTERESTED PARTIES in the home must be present. I told the gentlemen that I was the only person he needed to talk to. When he again reiterated that they like all decision makers in the house to be present I told him I was no longer interested in a visit from them and the guy tried again to get me to agree to his terms. I finally said goodbye and hung up after telling them not to ever call me as I had already given my phone number. I guarantee that if they do ever call when I specifically used the words "remove me from you call list", I will file a complaint with the FCC. Let's see, I could have had my husband at the appointment, my brother who lives with us at the appointment, my adult son who lives with us at the appointment and oh, my next door neighbor in interested in our house, I guess I could have invited him to the appointment. Our mailman likes our house I'm sure he wouldn't have minded joining us at the appointment. Renewal by Andersen emailed me today requesting that I remove my review because they noticed I list Portland, Oregon as my home through Yelp. We are also homeowners in Phoenix. read more

My 87 year old dad told the salesman he didn't want to pay 13,000 for two sliding glass patio doors. With all the slick talk my dad thought he was paying 8,400 with all the discounts. His last payment was 600.00. His last bill was for 2,400. Also the doors were a month late. Multiple times phone call were never returned. Their address has changed but I tracked them down. Looking to replace 8 windows and one patio door I reached out to RBA and scheduled an appointment for a quote. The salesman arrived on time and was super polite. He never made it feel like a high-pressure sales pitch, even though it was. I will come back to that. He walked through all of our windows and measured them (he even said every window was custom and if one side was higher than the other they would measure for that too, so I will have a trapezoid window?) He did spend an inordinate amount of time explaining and showing photos of builder grade vinyl window failures. He even told a story of his grandmother's newly-built home with failing windows (why didn't hook up his grandmother with better windows from the start?). He concluded with the price estimate, which was all done on a tablet (to go green naturally). The estimate we received was $26000. We have received other bids with the winning bid at $7600, which was the second highest bid. We were offered a discount of 20% plus 5% to sign today and he explained their financing program. When we told him we only wanted the quote and would like to think about it, he told us we would no longer be eligible for the 5%. We insisted and he then told us we could still get the discount if we "rescheduled" and yes he used finger quotes. Oddly he never left a written bid. In the end we still passed, not because of the quality of the product but the rate of return. The RBA windows come with a 20 year warranty (pretty good) where many vinyl windows come with a lifetime warranty. So let's say the windows (both RBA and vinyl) fail after 20 years and need to be replaced. It will cost me another $20000 to use RBA; however it will cost me $0 to do the vinyl because they are still under warranty. Even if I decided not to use the warranty and paid to replace the vinyl again at the same cost as I originally paid I would only have $15000 total invested. At that point with RBA I would be $40000 total invested. So even if I have to replace the vinyl after 20 years and decide to pay for it I will still be $25000 in the black. So that high pressure sales pitch wasn't bad, the guy did it well. However, I knew exactly what it was. Why was it vital both my wife and I were there? That's right, it is a big decision and all parties involved should have input... BULL! That is to eliminate the, "I need to talk to my wife" response. Second, that slick tablet to "go green." Seems modern and easy, but wait, why are pictures of his grandmother's house on your work tablet? Further because of the tablet there is no need for paper, hence no bid was left behind and the need to close the deal immediately. He pushed that idea further (politely, don't get me wrong he did a great job) by saying we would lose a discount if we didn't sign today. Why would you tell a customer they can have a discount and then take it away? I work in sales, once you tell them the price that is it. As a salesman you can always sweeten the pot but you can't make it higher, you will blow the sale. I cannot say RBA has a bad product, it may be great or even the best, but I save a lot more and have the same effect (oh, look this house has replacement windows) to go with another vendor. Sorry RBA you should have lead with your best offer. You know what vinyl sells for. If you believe your product is superior and is worth a little extra that is ok, but you have to be able to compete to win business. The opening offer should have been $10000. It still would have been the highest, but we probably would have chosen them. read more

SO I just had a scheduled appt for these guys to come quote me. The guy shows up with two people. Why I need two trapsing through my home I don't know. I told him to go ahead and get measurements and quote me and I would be fine with that. He said he couldn't do so as he needed to sit down with me for a 60-90 min presentation. He said "I have the computer and the whole powerpoint and all!" LOL.. kidding me.. I asked if he wanted to go ahead and do the quote and he said no. SO he left. WOW! Turned down a possible 30k job! Never seen that nonsense before. Even if these are the best Windows in the world and dance at night while I sleep .. I wouldn't go with this nonsense! read more

I should have checked here first.... I set up a visit by Andersen and they insisted both "decision makers" be present. They said the visit would be 90 minutes. After checking here, I decided that hard sell was not what I wanted, even though my home is 100% Andersen windows. I called back and cancelled my meeting, The gentleman asked why I could not reschedule at that time and I said, "Because your reputation for hard sell is not what I want in a window contractor." He began to raise his voice and read a canned spiel to which I hung up. The sales department just screwed the deal again. Plenty of other window manufacturers out there. read more

I haven't yet actually done business with Renewal by Andersen and after my first encounter with them, I probably will find someone else, anyone else, to replace my windows. Why? Because they will not schedule an appointment to come out and measure and quote an install price. They have to do a 90 minute pitch in the evening to both home owners. This is because they want to sell you something that is more costly than it should be, likely has financing attached to it and I guarantee you, is tied to a commission. I am in sales and the only type of company I would NEVER work for again is one that forces the sales person to operate like this. Look, we all buy replacement items for our homes regularly. New bath fixtures, new a/c units, new flooring, etc... 99% of the time, you don't have to sit through a pitch. You just get a quote and the salesman is on his/her way. When the price o the product is competitive and the sales rep has the product that fits your lifestyle, no pitch is required. No financing, either, since most people will have their own financing available BEFORE they call for that quote. Anyway, it has all the attributes of an overpriced sale so unfortunately, Andersen Windows won't be the new ones in my home. We scheduled a normal appointment with a local contractor who doesn't have any gimmicks or hooks in his portfolio, just the new windows we desire. It's clear that the hard close tactics remain part of Andersen's DNA. We attended a home show and had a couple projects lined up including a large patio door. Just as I opened the door for a lady coming to quote a custom closet I got a call from Andersen's office stating that they did not want to hold the meeting we set if my wife was not present. I bluntly told the woman on the phone that if they wanted to pull the appointment from the calendar go ahead. She stammered and I simply hung up. I got a voice mail during the closet design appointment that the salesman was coming. He arrived later and between my annoyance and his smugness the meeting was short and terse. The coupe de gras was his email sent later that informed me they would not quote the project until they got an architectural drawing which, GET THIS, they would offer me a discount on. Let's see...you want me to pay for a drawing in order to get a quote on something I may or may NOT buy from you. On top of that the two other vendors that came to quote did not ask for a drawings. Yeah, my spidey-sense was tingling. As a 20+ year sales professional that started out in a boiler room I know when someone is trying to set me up for a hard close. I can also tell you the reason they look to employ these methods in a word - FEAR. They are afraid to walk away and let anyone else pitch you because they are convinced they will lose the sale. I notice the owner attempts to reply to nearly every review and claims they don't run their business this way. That's a load of crap. read more

I'm sure they may be an okay window installer but they are terrible drivers. Their advertising is on their little cube and they were tailgating me and weaving in and out of traffic unsafely while tailing other vehicles. Don't drive like that when your advertising is on your vehicle. read more
