Enclosed Back Patio Quick background - We have had a screened-in patio since moving into our house in 1983. In 2001, we replaced much of the wood and installed a 28" slab wall. My wife fabricated the screens. The last improvement was made in 2011, when we had heavy screens fabricated with eyelets and attached them with cap screws. After all these years, we decided to make this a functional room year-round instead of Mar - May/Oct - Dec. As we know, it is always easier to build new than to reconstruct. It's a 200 sq. ft. space with good wood, foundation, etc. We went out for three quotes, including Desert King Windows, which we had replaced all our windows with back in 2010. They came in as the best price, but what was most appealing was how straightforward it all was. It was not a simple project. We required to not have any wood showing other than the very top. It was explained how they would foil wrap the beams and ledge. We were given options for the windows and doors with no price haggling. Since they were our last quote, we were satisfied to advise on the spot that we wanted them to do the project. Days later, Johnny came over for exact measurements, to engineer the project in terms of how many windows, which beams would be removed/moved, exactly how the foil would be placed and installed, and the like. A few days after that, the owner, Jayson, came by with Johnny and the sales rep, Don, to give a final look over and to make sure we were "all on the same page" before the order was submitted for fabrication. The project was scheduled for 6-8 weeks, which occurred. It was expected to take three days, but the crew led by Jose finished it up in two long days. My wife, who has had a complete bathroom remodel redone, was extremely happy (this was her ideal and project), which is telling. I have attached before (after the screens were removed) and after pics, which show the transformation. Oh - and to be able to use this year-round - we added a mini split, and thus far, with the type of windows and doors, it hardly needs to run to keep it cool. We checked a couple of places for two sliding glass doors before going with Desert King and the cost was quite reasonable. It took a while to get the doors in, but once they arrived, installation happened very quickly. Mike and Cindy did an excellent job of installation. Dallas was our salesperson and did a great job explaining the differences in the windows. Ultimately settled on the Anlin Del Mar which is a slimmer profile (trim) than some of the cheaper windows on the market. Living in Arizona I was concerned about warping or brittle vinyl. Justin did final measurements and said might request to come back for the installs. Jonny and Justin did install the windows-great install, very clean. You can already tell a big difference in the new windows. Outdoor noises stay outside and doing a nice job reducing the amount of radiant heat from the sun. read more

I originally rated these folks quite high - five stars. The salesperson Mauricio is great. As with some companies when you're buying and spending they are wonderful. When it comes to honoring warranty work and such it is a different story. A screen door on a $7000 window (we spent close to $9K in total) was not functioning properly. I called and was told by James Cataldo the COO "Since we did not install this door, We can replace the rollers however there will be a $225 labor fee." At the time, they were 2 months out on installations and our house had a 12 ft wide opening boarded up while in the middle of our renovation project., So my General Contractor used a licensed, registered window contractor to install the door. When I said I spent $9K with you, James in his infinite wisdom says this: "The amount you spent unfortunately has no bearing on my decision. I'm not sure why you would think it is. It has everything to do with us not installing the door. Unfortunately we did not install the door. That was your choice. Im happy to send someone out to take a look at your issue. But our time is not free. It costs money to send a tech and a truck to your home. I am the COO of the company, and these are my decisions." Oh really so you treat a $9K customer just like a $100 customer?? Well James you can kiss off the 20-foot of sliders we will replace and the references I gave for your company to our friends who are replacing all their sliders. I dealt with 3 groups of people when having windows installed at my home. I will go over each interaction in order. I had retrofit windows installed. (Anlin) Mauricio: He was my initial contact and salesman. Everything he said was true and all portions of the install were as expected. He helped with information I relayed to my HOA for approval. No issues whatsoever. Johnathan: He did the final measurements. It took 20 minutes for him to get the measurements and it was fine. I don't understand why it takes 2 weeks to schedule final measurements when it only takes 30 minutes to do the measurements, but I guess there are back end things like ordering correctly sized windows. Regardless, everything went fairly smooth albeit contact for final measurements were a bit late and I had to reach out to Mauricio. This would be my main recommendation for Desert King Windows; make final measurements quicker. Mike and Cindy: This is the team that did the install. They were fantastic. They are by far the best thing about the entire encounter with Desert King. They laid down tarp everywhere they did work. They were quick when removing and installing windows to limit exterior dust from entering the home. They vacuumed each area as they competed each window. The exterior and interior sealant was all well done in both attractiveness and sealing. All of the windows were in perfect condition and clean before they left. Desert King was a about a 4 star experience until Mike and Cindy brought it to an easy 5 stars. Ask for Mike and Cindy when dealing with your sales person. You won't regret it. read more

Walk away from this company. They are not honarable - or back up their work and will make up any excuse rather admit error. They installed windows 8 years ago at a hefty $20k and have been calling them every other year on a leaking master bedroom window- they keep coming back saying its the seal and guess what - still leaking! And we now have a couple other windows leaking- Called a couple 20+ year reputable Window companies and both confirmed installed incorrectly!. They took out aluminum and never put in flashing. Most likely all my windows leak on a rain just haven't noticed yet. Horrible. Not sure how company can not want to fix something they installed! read more

We needed a new sliding patio door, my colleague recommended Anlin windows and doors and I went to their website and made a request. Within 24hrs Desert King called me and setup a time to come explore options. To make a long story short, we ended up replacing all our large windows and sliding patio door. Our sales person was polite, professional and said it would be around 8 weeks for the build. Less than a month later we got a call from Cindy and Mike for our install! Cindy and Mike arrived on time and got right to work. They were a great team and even let me annoy them with question while they were working so I could learn more about the window install process. As our front west-facing windows caused the room to be extremely hot during the summer and cold in the winter, we knew it was time for replacements. After contacting a few recommended vendors (one of whom was a no-show claiming it was due to a concussion he had received when in high school!) we chose to go with Desert King and were quite pleased. The turn around time from signing contract to installation was approximately 6 weeks, the installers - who could not have been more pleasant - completed the job of a installing 7 windows of various sizes in 5 hours, protecting all furnishing in the room and with no need for removing the shutters or any paint touch-up. The temperature effect was immediately noticeable from the installed Anlin energy efficient windows. I've no doubt we'll be seeing the results reflected in our next electric bill.
