Y'all. I thought my hair was done-for. Goneski. Adios! I am the WORST about over-styling my hair using a heat higher than the surface of the sun and putting off getting a trim for long enough that i can't even recall what shears look like. My hair was an awful, terrible tumbleweed. I would run my fingers through it and they'd get stuck in a mess of tangles that would then shatter off of my head and onto my clothes. My hair was ROUGH. I made an appointment with Sarah while googling super-short haircuts and mourning the loss of the majority of my hair. I went in and told her i was clueless as to what could be done, or what would even look decent on me. I gave her no help, AT ALL (because, to be honest, i am hair-illiterate). Y'all, she saved my hair. We only had to say goodbye to about 3-4 inches in the longest spots and she was able to taper in the really rough pieces so they're practically invisible. Seriously, Sarah is a miracle worker and an angel sent from Hairven and instead of crying tears of sadness over an uncomfortably-short haircut, i left nearly crying happy tears because my hair looks and feels absolutely amazing at a length that doesn't terrify me. read more

Renata, i REALLY wanted to like you. Today was my first visit to this salon and I went due to such high ratings right here on yelp. I made an appointment today for a cut and color. The receptionist on the phone told me it would be "about 100 dollars" which aligned with another yelper's review here, so that's what I went prepared to pay. Now my hair has put up with a lot from me the past two years. I've dyed it out of the box and salon-hopped through several cities before settling here in grapevine. Needless to say, although my hair was deemed healthy by the salon staff, it wasn't in great condition color wise. The girl doing my hair brought over another coworker for her opinion and they threw a bunch of beauty terms around about how to fix my hair the right way, i guess. They took me back and to the best of my knowledge, applied a strong shampoo to the ends which gently lifts the bad evil "box" color out so that new color can be applied. That entire process took approximately 5 minutes from start to finish. Then my color was mixed and applied and i waited... after 30 minutes of processing time, she came back with a squirt bottle and applied toner to certain parts of my hair she left out of the dye. 3.5 hours after arriving, i finally had a cut and color i felt pretty happy with. I was exhausted and I'm sure the hairdresser was too. We walked over to the receptionist to check out and they hit me with a cool $160 surprise and the promise that "next time it wont be so expensive." Apparently that fancy 5 minute color lifting shampoo (what I came to learn was a ~color correction~) and the squirt bottle of toner slapped on the extra expense. Now, had they explained to me up front "hey look, this might cost a little extra, but it's really going to make your hair better in the long run," i might have just felt a little better about the whole ordeal. There's nothing worse than going into a salon with high hopes of walking out feeling great about yourself afterwards and instead feeling someone just pulled a fast one on you. The icing on the cake was that as soon as I got home, i noticed two large spots of hair color on the FRONT of my shirt, which won't come out. now i have less money and one less shirt, but at least a hair cut i feel okay about. :( Renata could have really improved the experience for me today by at least talking things through a little more thoroughly in terms of exactly what extra services they planned on providing if they really were deemed necessary for my hair. read more

I booked a last minute appointment with Christina through the receptionist. The receptionist was bubbly, and very helpful navigating me around my work schedule and salon hours. I read great reviews about Christina on Yelp, and they did not disappoint! Admittedly, it had been too long since my last cut. My once shapely A-Line Bob was now grown out and tired. Christina helped tweak the picture I brought to what she though would suit me best. We confidently went in that direction and I love the results! The atmosphere of the salon was very comfortable,while still being hip. My husband is very picky with his hair, and found a favorite in the stylist Kim. Ok, so I have mixed reviews. I love Carrie. She was amazing, my hair looked awesome, but this place is ridiculous when it comes to scheduling. I've only been here once and was scheduled for another appointment tomorrow. Both times, they've called me the day before and the day of my appointment to try and reschedule. The first time I went, I told them it was fine to move my appointment back an hour because they were running late and overbooked. I got there an hour after my original appointment time and I STILL had to wait an hour before I went back. I spent 4 hours at the salon on my day off, but Carrie was awesome so I didn't mind. But now, a day before my 2nd appointment that I've had scheduled for 6 weeks, they call again and try to move me to a different day because they've overbooked, once again. Im sorry, but I'm not spending 200 dollars to be constantly shuffled around. I'm a student and I work full time so I need a salon that's more reliable. read more

Had a massage this weekend by Desiree and it was awesome. I have shoulder issues from volleyball and she worked on my arms and shoulders for a good chunk of the time doing more of a therapeutic massage than one of those kind at chains that feel nice but don't really work anything out. First time I made appointment, they called and said the girl went home sick, would I mind coming in early and seeing someone else. I said as long as they can cut long hair into a pixie cut, I would not mind. I arrived on time, the girl they gave me to had no idea I wanted a pixie. I have one length hair down to the middle of my back. I wanted and showed the girl a photo of Kris Jenner's & Victoria Beckham's hair with the longer pixie and she even recognized them. She said yes, I can do that, I will stop before I get that short and work into that length to make sure you are good with it since that is a such a drastic change. She never stopped and my hair is not long on top, it is layered everywhere and is 2.75" at the very longest not to mentioned tapered wrong. She just kept cutting and cutting and it looks nothing like the photos I showed before we began. My son got his hair cut after mine and his is still longer than mine. For someone that had long hair for years, to get whacked like this is ... by a shop with this reputation is mind boggling to say the least. Then she asked me after she stopped cutting if I liked it lol. Um, what choice do I have, might as well try to like it, I was stuck with it. Afterwards, you will need these products $65 more to style it. I guess you are right, because I needed some retail therapy to soothe this pain. read more
