Recently I went to Remo's and had the salad pizza and was blown away. I like how there's always a table available and it's a pizza place but with an urban vibe. Last Friday I went for the salad pizza that I'd been dreaming about, but it was lighter on cheese considerably and not nearly as good as the first time. Brick oven pizza and a glass of wine?! Count me in!!!! So my roommate and I were looking for a spot to check out for dinner and found this place! It was a little crowded on a saturday night But there was both indoor and outdoor seating available. We sat inside towards the back and our waiter promptly greeted us. There have a wine list and they also have a few bottled beers available. I got the Zinfadel for $7 / glass and It was great! As for dinner, we ordered a large Margherita pizza to share and meatballs with ricotta as the appetizer. The meatballs came out so quickly. I was still eating from the Bread basket! They also have olive oil, parmesan cheese and crushed red peppers on the table so all your bases are covered. The meatballs were juicy, the marinara sauce was good and the ricotta was plentiful! The pizza was crisp to perfection and we had Lore than half leftover. The ambiance was cool and my Italian roommate was surprised they had Italian pop music playing in the background. First time in Stamford and decided to try out this pizza/Italian place near my hotel. I ordered New England pizza with shrimp and clams. Maybe because I was famished, I believe this is one of the best New York Style pizza I had in a long time. For desert I order freshly filled cannoli, it was also amazing. Remo's was great! The music choice when we went was solid too, no complaints there! My friends and I sat outdoors and didn't go indoors at all, but the outdoor seating was comfortable and clean. We ordered Gorgonzola bread and a custom cheese pie. The Gorgonzola bread was F-A-N-T-A-S-T-I-C and made for a great starter! The flavor wasn't super overpowering and was a nice balance of the Gorgonzola. Our custom pie was delicious as well and came out quickly. The service was polite and we had no issue with our servers. I went to Remo's in March when my college roommate came to visit me. It was the same night as the Saint Patrick's Day celebration so the place was filled with drunk people. The owner and staff handled it all very well. We sat at the bar and as we were eating our food a man in his 30s came over, extremely intoxicated, and took food from our plate. The owner was quick to jump on this guy and kick him out of the restaurant as well as fix our order and give us a free dessert. The food itself is so worth it. This is by far the best that's what I've tried there and their pizza the pizzas OK I expected a little better the customer service another story a little pushy short not that when you need them. I go to Remo's regularly now. I can't get enough. Especially so for their pastas, desserts and appetizers. They prepare a great (REAL) Bolognese sauce that I love to get on ravioli and then pair with another order of their chicken Alfredo on Linguini. Both really great, flavorful sauces that balance each other out when you can mix bites!! I'd highly recommend going with a friend and mixing/trying each other's plates, since the portions are big and you can balance out creamy dishes with acidic sauces. Their desserts are also perfect. Their tiramisu and cannolis are creamy, light and reasonably sweet. The Buffalo wings and house wines are also great. This popular restaurant serves seriously mediocre pizzas. I cannot understand its popularity. People come to pick up take out orders and park in the street outside. The location is near the very busy intersection of Bedford and Broad streets, so there is a lot of traffic which frequently gets jammed up due to thoughtless customers parking illegally to pick up take out food. This restaurant and its customers are a blight on downtown Stamford. The police do nothing. read more

This is our favorite takeout place in Stamford. We go here basically once a week. The pasta portions are HUGE, definitely recommend the penne alla vodka. Their pizzas are so good! Our favorites are cheese, margherita, and garlic shrimp. Their Cobb salad with grilled chicken is probably my favorite salad ever. read more

The food and service was great, but every time I go to remos and try to sit outside, there is a trumpet player across the street that ruins my experience. He played the star wars cantina song on repeat the entire time I was out there, ruining the experience of going out to eat. This has happened multiple times I have gone. I realize this is not the fault of remos, but it is a part of the experience when you go there. The trumpet guy is just simply bad, and you have to sit through a dinner of trumpet screeches and random notes being played loudly. So I never would have thought of going to Remo's, but my wife convinced me. One day we were in the mood for pizza and figured we would go here. I must say, we tried a few things since, and they never seem to fail us. Their pizza is good. The bruschetta was great. The grilled calamari was awesome. We have had their chicken marsala, chicken piccata, linguine pescatore, shrimp.scampi, and their various pizzas. All were good. They definitely know how to cook seafood though. Their calamari is always perfect. Also, try the cannoli and sfogliatelle. Those are always good. And the service has always been good too. Definitely check 'em out. Few things though, sometimes the bread is cold and butter is cold as a rock when we ask for the bread. I would only suggest warming the bread up and keeping the butter out. I left this place feeling really undecided, I had varying impressions from the time we step foot into the door from the moment we walked out. Here's what went down. The place was busy at 10:20 pm on a Friday night. They are open til midnight which is great. They were able to accommodate three so we were seated in a booth towards the back of the restaurant. It's an interesting vibe, the counter looks like a typical casual grab a slice and have a seat counter but then it's not like that because there's waiter service an a dining area. Seconds after being sat, a busser came over with bread. No butter just a loaf of bread. There was olive oil on the table but no bread plates. I thought maybe they would pour the olive oil onto a small plate with some seasoning like most italian restaurants do. Here is the rule I just made up in my head. If you are fancy enough NOT to serve butter, you are fancy enough to pour the olive oil for the customers so they know what to dip the bread in. If you're not going to pour the olive oil, then serve some butter. Seconds after the bread was served, our waitress came over and asked if we wanted drinks. We said waters all around please and she gave an eye roll and walked away. Seriously? Turns out I was GOING to order wine when I ordered my meal but what was that about? I didn't know that people had to order beverages other than water when they dined out. The waitress brought our waters over and asked if we were ready to order. We weren't. My Dad said, "No sorry we aren't ready yet, first time here." Then the waitress took off. We were going to ask for a suggestion. Ask what they were known for, maybe get the waitresses name, but no. She didn't give us the time of day and we contemplated bouncing. A moment later a very kind DIFFERENT waitress came over and asked if we were ready to order. Again, we weren't because she had just come over after the last waitress but this woman was so sweet, patient and knowledgable about the dishes. Thank goodness our original waitress decided to bail on us because she was grouchy and shouldn't be in the business quick frankly. We ordered a large Margherita Pizza for an appetizer and it came out lightning fast. It was decent. Not too much flavor, flimsy crust but hit the spot. For entrees we got the Rigatoni Bolognese, Chicken Parm and the Farmhouse Salad which came with apples, pears, gorgonzola, craisins and walnuts. The food came out SOOOO quickly I couldn't believe it. Microwave came to my mind, but I shouldn't be so quick to judge because the food wasn't the best we've ever had but it sure wasn't the worst either. My salad was fine but the house dressing was pretty gross, stick with the balsamic vinegar. Our waitress was attentive and sweet. She saw me analyzing my pear on the salad and immediately came over to see what was wrong. I questioned the brown spots all over and thought it was rotten then she reminded me the fruit was grilled! So just in case you get this salad, the brown spots are from the grill!!! (Most likely.) The bill came to $60. Not horrible for three people. The wine selection was just alright, no liquor. I wouldn't come back here just because it wasn't anything superb. I want to give two stars but I'm giving three only because the new waitress kept us from leaving and because the bussers were excellent. Consistently checking to make sure we had enough water and were quick to clear our plates. ALMOST FORGOT. ADD AVOCADO FOR AN ADDITIONAL........WAIT FOR IT.......$4.95!!!?!?!?! I repeat, add avocado to a salad for $4.95. What earth do we live on? I was kind of appalled. BE CAREFUL if you choose to build your own salad. The toppings add up like crazy. You're better off choosing one of the one's listed and modifying as many ingredients as you can get away with. read more
