My experience at ReMo's cafe was solid. The food was good, the service was excellent and the ambience felt laid back and quiet. There are no frills about this place, it honestly just feels like your ma and pa shop. There are a few seats at the restaurant, I think this is a good spot for you to order to go. Here's what we ordered. I got the Fried catfish with green beans and cabbage and my friend ordered the chopped beef sandwich with fries. I definitely had to get some kool aid as well. My fish was cooked to perfection. It was fried hard & the batter was crispy. The batter didn't miss a pinch of seasoning. Probably one of the best fried catfish's I've had. The green beans and cabbage were forgettable. Seasoning wasn't really there except for heat. My friend sandwich was decent. The bread was nicely toasted with butter. The meat could've been more tendered but not bad because it was seasoned. Maybe a little salty but better than bland. The fries was definitely made in house and it was delicious. My kool aid was made just right, sweet. Overall, it was very good. I would come back just for the catfish. They definitely made it with love. Hands down great clean location which is the 1st thing that stood out to me definitely A+ in that book for me. Service it was myself and two others in line and all three of us were assisted very promptly and efficiently. When I got home which I ordered the rib plate which came with two sides the greens "make you wanna slap ya mama" (literally don't do that). I am not a fan. Visited around 3:15 pm, 0n Saturday afternoon, they were out of some food that I wanted. No potato salad, no greens. Ribs were so tough, no sausage. Greens were ok but not what I expected for souk food. Chicken was ok but not great. All in all, I was not satisfied. I went there from reading the reviews, though after getting my food I wondered if they were written by the owners or employees. However, the pound cake was ok but wrapped on tin foil and not a container. If I may make a suggestion, be sure your restaurant is supplied efficiently for the weekend. read more

The cabbage was steamed no seasoning or meat. The greens needed more cooking time and seasoning. I also ordered the TX/LA..pork ribs/stuffed pork sides potato salad and baked beans. The stuffed pork was dry and over cooked. Very tough. I could not eat it. Gave it to the dog. The pork ribs were tender but no seasoning. The potato salad and beans were ok. Nothing special. Great family restaurant located between Subway and Papa John's. Been here a few times because the catfish sandwich is so good! Customer service is always perfect. No matter who is taking your order, it's a pleasant experience. Staff is always patient and ready to answer question about the menu or your order. They're always polite and professional so it really is a great place to spend your money. My first time in, the young lady that took and bagged my order, was the perfect cashier. She had just finished taking someone else's order, so she put on a pair of gloves and showed me my food before placing it in a bag. I was very appreciative of how mindful she was considering Covid. This place has been on my list to try and today, I had time. I remember reading another review about not seeing the specials for the day so upon entry, I was scoping! I didn't see it either so I went to the register to look at the menu. A few minutes later, a gentleman greeted me and he actually mentioned the special for today and pointed to the board (it's a white board behind the counter to the left). I went with the Thursday special of turkey wing plate with rice, cornbread, and 2 sides for $12.50 and the Cowboy combination plate which was preselected with sausage and brisket $15.99. The sausage stood out for me! I would've liked a little more spice but it was just enough to make me dance. The brisket was good and tasty. The sides was on the ight side. I ordered the rib sandwich with a side of coleslaw and 1 pound of Chicken quarters with a side of potato salad. The staff was courteous and the restaurant was clean. A slight problem I had was that I wasn't made aware of the daily specials. The special was on a sign on the wall, but it was off to the side in a location that wasn't easily visible while I was ordering. If I would have known about the special, I would have gotten that instead since it had the same chicken entree I wanted for a better deal. But the food was good and the service was fast. So i like i was able to get me an adult drink while waiting. It was perfect you can taste the alcohol and the fruit flavor! The red beans and rice had a great flavor and was delicious. Went to remos for some BBQ I was very happy with the service and food. The place is clean you can see into the kitchen and from what I could see looked good with covid going on today that's nice to see taken seriously. I got the Htown special and that comes with three preselected meats of sausage, brisket, and ribs. That's what I normally get to try a new bbq joint so they got a plus from me there. Its 15.99 and that's pretty fair for bbq. My 2 sides I choose were greens and macaroni and cheese. The greens were probably the low point they went bad at all just didn't seem much added to them. The mac and cheese was good I liked the fact it wasn't drowning in cheese seemed more adult. The brisket was good had a nice fat cap on top of it, the smokey bbq sauce went well with it. The ribs were tender and good came with rib tips and 2 rib bones meaty ribs too. I liked the sausage it seems homemade. I would like it spicier myself, but I know folks complain if you make stuff spicy but the option would be nice they had nice flavor and a little spice too. All in all I will be back I use to drive to Ray's bbq to get a fix before he moved to the more commercial spot. It unfortunately ain't what it was. But when one door closes another one opens. I had an amazing meal at this restaurant. They have been popping up on my Instagram for some time and finally took time to go and try them out. I ordered the kids plate which consisted of a choice of meat and a side. I picked the dark meat chicken and macaroni. I got this because I wasn't sure if the food was going to be good and didn't want to waste my money if it wasn't. Boy was I wrong!!! I wish I had gotten a normal size plate because I literally was licking my fingers when I was done. The chicken was made juicy and well seasoned and the homemade barbecue sauce completely set it off.
