After having our semi-annual seasonal checkup, it was determined that our dual central HEVAC system of 13 years, was considerably out of specification and one unit was on 'borrowed time'. We requested a quote for replacement vs repair, and Very QUICKLY it was provided. We shopped around a bit and quickly determined that Mechanicool offered the best choice of both equipment and price and discounts (military). We chose to upgrade to higher efficiency equipment to help stave off increasing energy bills. We needed financing and they too directed us to a lending institution with acceptable terms. Once we decided to go with this project, within a matter of minutes financing was established and approved (good credit helped). Within one additional day an install was scheduled. My oh my, were we impressed! The NEXT day the install team of 4 technicians arrived. This team of professionals was not only polite, competent and HARD working, they endured 9+ hours of incredible heat in the attic space, without even a word of complaint. The new equipment is incredibly quiet and seems to be working efficiently. Plus the two very high tech thermostats are actually fun to operate remotely with our phones and even with Alexa! It must be mentioned, once the team was finished with the installation, there wasn't a hint they were even here. Absolutely no mess as they even laid tarps on the floor to avoid tracking in debris. The removed equipment was placed street side and magically an additional vehicle & trailer was dispatched to pick up and take it away. Suffice to say we are very pleased with a total outcome of this project and most importantly, Mechanicool.

As I held the positive impression of his work ethics in mind, I want to request the whole HVAC system replacement to his company at this time. When I established the estimate schedule with the company via phone, I obviously told them that I planned to purchase the HVAC system with Efficiency Arizona rebate program; because Mechanicool was the affiliate contractor of the rebate program in public. 10/16/2026 afternoon, the estimating technician, Chad was supposed to provide me with the accurate estimates of available A/C brands options in email after the estimate meeting was finished. In 15 minute after he left, unknown person suddenly called me from Yuma 928-373-XXXX, claiming himself as a manager and the company owner. He refused to give me the quotes with the rebate program. Instead, he attempted to push the hard sell on me rudely, which the original owner, Nick and his family never showed the customers. He strongly denied that the MechaniCool handles the Efficiency Arizona rebate assistance with State of Arizona. What a shame! Does the state government lie in public? MechaniCool must be listed in the qualified contractors of the rebate program. The reckless sales person's speech blew the business trust that Nick built up away from me at the moment. I suspect that as Nick and his family sold the business to somebody else, the customer service is seriously declining. I desired to put 1 star in review. So we paid $125 for someone to come and immediately say it's not worth fixing. I think they knew ahead of time it wasn't worth fixing but sent someone out anyway and took our money. They were nice on the phone, stated they would charge us a tech call fee to come out and determine what the issue was which is understandable. They stated after they figure out what the problem is, they would apply the $125 service call to the bill if we moved forward with the repairs. After the service guy came out, which he was very nice and knowledgeable, he stated it was the 2 small switches in front and our transformer underneath. Stated it was $680 - $125 for everything. We agreed but they stated they had to order the parts and they would come back the following week around Tuesday. Tuesday came and we did not hear from them. I called them on Wednesday and they stated the parts came in and would have someone call me. Again, another day went by and no one called. I had to call back in where they told me they could not come out until Tuesday or Wednesday of the following week and would put us on the 1st stop at 8am. We scheduled for Tuesday. 8:20am came by and no word. I called and asked if someone was coming and the lady stated the service guy had to stop by the parts store to pickup the parts and then would head our way. The guy finally showed up at 8:45am. Mind you, I was advised the previous week by 2 people the parts were in and they already had them on hand. After the service guy installed the 2 switches which took about 10 -15 min, he started on the transformer. After we swapped out the transformer, he proceeded to advise us that it was not the transformer but most likely something with the internal wiring and they would have to pull the built in fridge out and start to tear things apart to find out where the break in the wire was bad. We did not want to spend the money on that. They ended up billing us $400 for 2 switches. I spoke to the manager and he stated they don't charge by the hour, just what the billing time states for the parts. I asked him for a breakdown of labor and parts and he stated they don't do invoices that way. I would assume it is THEIR way of covering all the labor they did on our fridge for something that did not need to be replaced which they misdiagnosed from the beginning. Now, here comes more horrible service: I looked under the fridge to see how things were put back as I had a bad feeling after what they did on the above. The service guy only put 1 screw back on to hold the cover plate. He did not put the other 2 screws on. After I took the cover plate off, the service guy did not put the transformer cover back on as well. He shoved it back under the fridge and put all the screws under the fridge laying on the ground. Every time you call this place, they asked you how they can put a smile on your face. What a joke. I would never use this company nor recommend them. They did not finish the job and wasted our time/money.
