Relume is such a fun, cute store. You can make charm jewelry there, but they have so much more, such as books, jewelry, housewares, clothing, and other assorted gift items. The "blind date with a book", where you buy a wrapped book, only knowing a brief synopsis, is awesome. Relume is bright and welcoming, with friendly staff. What a great shop.

My friends and I went to Relume to make charm necklaces. There were plenty of charm options to choose from. While I wish there were more silver charms, we all ended up choosing charms to pair with a gold chain. It was a unique experience making our own jewelry and I'd recommend this to those looking for a different kind of activity to do while out!

Such a cute shop with unique gifts and great service. There's a DIY jewelry making area (make an appointment). There's cute "blind date books" by genre. Fun stickers and trinkets. Love this spot! Definitely pricey, but worth it!

I have 0 idea how you could not love this place. Everything in the store is cute, fun, and unique - and is reasonably priced. They also have a section where you can pick out a "blind date with a book" - definitely will be my weakness whenever I stop in. My friends and I also came in for a candle making workshop, sooo fun - and the staff was super friendly and helpful. I would absolutely do another one (and maybe other types of workshops they offer too). Do yourself a favor and pop in this store!

Fitting for the Capitol Hill neighborhood, Relume bridges the gap between families and everyone else. A woman-owned vintage and handmade goods shop, they sell "blind date with a book" packages and a "craft bar" for all ages to make bracelets and more. Because of its inclusivity, all kinds of people can be found inside from caregivers with kids to university students. On top of it, the owner and staff are kind and gently guide you through the shop if you need recommendations. The space itself is a work of art and anything from cards to candles to creative DIY kits can be found throughout. Open every day, it's worth a stop in. Or stay for hours making art at the "craft bar." They also host workshops!

Love this little store!!! They have so many group activities that are fun and cute. We decided to make charm necklaces, and this was a great experience. The staff were very nice and i overall recommend checking it out!

By far the most unique little sho I've ever seen! Everything for sale in the store is eclectic, handmade and often times made from recycled materials. They have a workshop called The Makery where you can partake in different artistic classes.

This is such a fun and unique store in Eastern Market - always offering a great selection of gifts and activities. The service is impeccable and value exceptional. Tonight, we especially enjoyed the intro to crochet class!

Located in a space once a…read morechurch office, this local woman-owned flower and plant shop is the perfect stop after a weekend brunch at Barracks Row's many restaurants. Here's why you should go: 1) Flowers: They sell beautifully arranged bouquets of locally grown seasonal flowers. When my daughter and I popped in to pick up a bouquet to surprise my wife at the airport returning from a trip, we left with two. My wife was impressed with how beautiful the selection was. 2) Space: Once you enter the space, you're surrounded by plants and household goods like candles. The shop is put together well, inviting you to stay awhile browsing every corner. 3) Staff: Holley, the owner, was managing the shop when we stopped in on a Sunday afternoon. She is welcoming and can guide you through the store connecting you to the right bouquet or plant. She Loves Me's Barracks Row shop is open Wednesday through Friday from 11 AM to 7 PM and Saturday and Sunday from 10 AM to 4 PM. They also do next-day deliveries through their website and provide flowers for weddings, etc.

She looked up, saw me come in, and turned her back, so I left. Ever the optimist, I returned during posted store hours and once again the woman was on the phone, but this time the door was locked ‍. Haven't had the pleasure of actually shopping there, but it's not because I haven't tried.

It's rare that I stop in a don't leave with at least one item (though I almost always go in there "just to browse"). Diament Jewelry is a misleading name for the shop though. They do carry some jewelry, but it's a smaller collection of rings and necklaces and nothing I'd say to go out of your way for (ie, no unique look or designer). What I would call it is Diament Gifts as they have an amazing selection for just about any occasion whether it's a new baby, bridal shower or just to treat yourself. They carry a lot of clothes and accessories, soaps, candles, decorations and cards. This store is literally packed with inventory and it changes out on a regular basis (it's also good for almost any holiday!). It's well curated but also impressively stocked in a way few other stores are. Another huge highlight of Diament is the sale section. With so much inventory, much of the more themed items can usually be found marked down for an excellent deal. I especially recommend the sale section for cards, I've found so many great items here. The one thing holiday Diament back from a full five is the customer service. It's incredibly hands-off and fairly unfriendly - when I buy things at a store I expect a smile at the very minimum (small talk or a greeting would be ideal...). But despite this I still fully recommend this fun store.

There were a couple of people in front of us in line, no big deal. But, when it got to the person directly in front of us I began to wonder if they really wanted my business. The woman at the register (who I found out was the manager) was moving as slow as possible, literally having complete conversations about various topics. And she kept looking at me, looking away, and then seemed to just move slower (no I'm sorry, with you in a minute, etc). It was one of the stranger (and more uncomfortable) service experiences I've had in recent memory. After suggesting that I would just go elsewhere where she did offer to ring me up and offered a 50 cent discount for the wait. I did purchase the items because my son was getting upset and I wanted to shield him from the ugliness of the situation. However, the manager just didn't seem like she wanted to serve me and I really felt like I was being treated differently than other customers. I won't speculate about why, but needless to say there are plenty of other businesses in the area that I know will happily serve me and I will never walk through the door of this one again.
