Steadfast Supply - Cards & Stationery Near Me - Washington, DC, District of Columbia

Steadfast Supply showcases the artistic talent and entrepreneurial spirit of DC residents. The store curates a collection of gifts that truly represent Washington with some extra fun lifestyle and craft items. I made sure to visit every corner of the store to make sure I did not miss a thing. It's a wonderful spot to browse while you're in the neighborhood and to take a workshop. Virginia led a group of us through a plant and pot decorating class right in the store. For my first Steadfast event, this was well organized and we were well cared for by our host! It was a rare moment of art therapy for me. There were no rules except to paint. At the end, we got holy basil seeds and soil to complete the project. I can't wait to see it grow along with my other plants. read more

This is my go to place for gifts to anyone for any occasion. It is a neighborhood gift shop selling items from DC branded clothes, candles, soap, posters, baby misc items, plants and many more interesting and cute items. The store is dog friendly and they have a lot of dog treats for your puppies. Staff are always so pleasant and welcoming. They also offer classes every now and then so come check them out. I love the boxed gifts they always have for special occasion. Highly recommend to visit this neighborhood store. read more

I LOVE this place. 6 stars! Steadfast Supply not only is a local business of it's own, but it's a local business that supports other local businesses in the DC area. If you want gifts, they got gifts. But they not only got gifts. THEY GOT GIFFFFFTS I mean- we're talking about Clothing - check! Candles - check! Jewlery - check! Plants - check! Prints - check! Books - check! and the list goes on and on and on. And I have a dare for you. If you're ready for this one. Try to go around and buy gifts for your loved ones, and not fall in love with something yourself. I literally just dare you. I ended up getting a wonderfully smelling candle for myself, and a little pin for a friend. They also do little events and classes there I believe. So you should definitely follow them on social. Trust me, just walk into this place. It's different. I don't know exactly what it is... but it has a different feel that any sort of gift shop you've been in. The variety is amazing, and the merch is 18 emoji heart eye faces worth of love. read more

When I travel, I love to shop local. I found Steadfast Supply on Yelp prior to a recent trip to DC. I stopped in a cold evening and loved exploring this store. All sorts of gifts and fun stuff--for yourself and for others! If you want a good souvenir, this is a great spot to get it, plus it's in a fun area (I grabbed dinner and ice cream at two other businesses nearby). The employees were friendly, and there was good music on. Definitely recommend this great spot! read more

I'm surprised I haven't written a review sooner! Before the pandemic I had the pleasure of browsing this store several times. It's a large store filled with all kind of local and artisan goodies. From clothing to jewelry, cards, and candy there's absolutely something for everyone here. And this is a great spot to bring out-of-towners to browse or a place to pick up gifts for almost anyone! The customer service has been top notch each visit as well as virtually. My most recent trip is all because I was wanting my home smelling better since I've been inside much more often these days. The website was easy to shop and navigate. I found a nice selection of candles with descriptions that made the decision of buying without smelling a risk I was willing to take. They had both delivery and curbside pickup options. I placed my order for pickup and the next morning got an email saying it was ready (a full day before I expected it to be!) Pickup was quick and easy and safe! I called the store when I arrived and an employee met me at the door for the handoff. She waited while I checked to make sure everything was correct which I greatly appreciated. And once I got home and de-masked I was so impressed with the amazing quality and smell of the candle I chose! I'll be back for sure! read more

I dare you to walk into Steadfast Supply and not pull out your wallet. If you love supporting local artists or just plain treating yourself, Steadfast Supply is your jam! Every nook and cranny is filled with items to satisfy even the pickiest people on your gift list -- there is jewelry artfully hammered into beautiful designs, dog pillows (or to be exact, pillow for humans in the shape of dogs), witty cards, posters, ceramics, clothing for baby hipsters, terrariums, hot sauce, gluten free chocolate bars, and much, much more. They often host events in the space from pop-up designers to craft nights and tastings. And as a bonus the entire place is extremely Instagrammable! I definitely recommend this place for some retail therapy! read more

Such a great spot to pick up unique (and locally made) gifts! You can seriously find something for just about anyone in your life here. It's especially a great place to go when you're looking for some*thing* for some*one* where you don't have much direction or insight into what they'd like. You'll find some inspiration here and will not leave empty handed. Last I was here, I purchased some earrings, a few healing crystals, a candle and a sweatshirt that says "Productive AF." Nice little hodge-podge of a bounty I came up with, ay?! Additionally, the staff here is always so kind and so willing to help. I totally forgot that they offer a check-in discount on Yelp and remembered literally right after being rung up. I asked it if was too late to use (because no biggie if it was) and she gladly corrected the transaction to reflect that discount. She really didn't have to, but she wanted to and it was just one more thing for me to appreciate about the business. If you're in or around The Navy Yard, make sure to pop in to see what's new. They're constantly getting new inventory, so if you haven't been recently make sure to keep it on your list as a gifting destination! read more

This is an absolute gem of a store. Great to see some retail joining the bars and restaurants around Navy Yard. So much variety and unique things from an assortment of local artisans and businesses. I'd read about Steadfast awhile back and made a mental note to stop by. After lunch at nearby Bluejacket Brewery, I ducked in and immediately started thinking up gift ideas. For myself, yes, but a little bit for other people as well. ;) You name it, they got it--pet toys, custom onesies, sunglasses, leather bags, jewelry, candles, incense, stationary, cards. The concept of providing a marketplace for area businesses is great in theory, and the way Steadfast has executed on their showroom is even better. Everything is well merchandised and the staff is very friendly. The woman manning the register took such pride in talking about the artisans and how the store helps serve as a launchpad for them. One line featured in the store was recently picked up by a large national retailer, so the store already has some successes under its belt. I resisted the urge to stock up on a bunch of stuff, but some some amazing weekend duffles, unique jewelry, and my addiction, modern pattern tea towels. My one selfish purchase was a neighborhood map of Shaw print from Miks Letterpress. Still not sure where to hang it, but I love being able to pinpoint my block and even my building on a print. Look forward to checking out Steadfast for holiday shopping--this place is what shopping small is all about. read more

Steadfast Supply is the most hipster thing in the very yuppie neighborhood of Navy Yard. It's in an industrial space right across the street from Blue Jacket and next to Philz Coffee. The concept behind Steadfast Supply is great! It's a collection of LOCAL designers and creatives under one roof selling a variety of goods from baby clothes to tables to artisan chocolate (From DC's Harper Macaw). The space is open and clean and the back corner has a variety of beautifully designed tables for anyone to sit at and bum their free wifi. The manager told us, "My home is your home." Based on the look of this place, you'd imagine the price tags are super expensive. In some cases, yes. A bar of chocolate is $12. However, they had designer t-shirts for $25 and a quality men's jacket for $85. Not bad! If you're in the area, definitely stop by! It's the beginning of SE turning hipster. read more

The first time I went into Steadfast Supply, I thought, "Hmm, this place is interesting." As I've been in multiple times now since they opened, I've been pleased to see a great variety of awesome local goods, from neighborhood-specific art to pillows to jewelry to clothes and just about everything else. I most recently picked up a beautiful painting of NoVa for a friend who lives there and was moving away. I've always found the staff to be really friendly and helpful if you're looking for something but you're not quite sure what you're really looking for. They also have cool handmade cards here, which have a very personalized look and feel to them. As I promised the cashier the other day, I will be coming in here more frequently. read more

I just stopped by here today to pick up a Bailiwick sweatshirt I was too lazy to order. It was very cute! Parking was pretty trash and typically is in that area so be forewarned. Steadfast Supply is exactly what I hoped it would be! Not only are they a small business, but they support other small local businesses. Each of the stations within the store highlight the items sold by a unique artist. The notecards, jewelry, beauty products, clothing, and home goods were all of great quality and it was very interesting to read about the people that made them. I love that they have testers for the mists and body sprays, which all smelled amazing and weren't overpowering! I will definitely be coming back for last minute gifts or when I am looking for something nice. There were many DC related items from posters to clothing that would be an awesome present! Everything was priced reasonably and you know it is going to a local artist/business owner. I really appreciated how helpful the staff were, without overselling the products, they seemed to generally love the store and products. They even encouraged me to check out the vendor's website directly, if I didn't find exactly what I was looking for in the store. It is clear that they really care about supporting the artists. When I briefly spoke to the owner, I learned that they started as a pop up and had such a positive response that they decided to have a permanent storefront in Navy Yard. The location is great - just a quick walk front the Green line. read more

Absolutely adore this store. Lots of fun items. Wide assortment of cards and a great place to get last minute gifts.

I went to the place before it moved to the bigger space. I liked it when I first went a few years ago and love it even more. I love how they sell things from local artists and sellers. They curate very interesting things. I love the cards and candles.. and clothes and cool workshops they host. I love the windows instead of walls and I like how they use their space. Everything is super cool! They sell baby clothes and adult shirts. They have a lot of things to look at. It's street parking and there are lots of things to do nearby. Must check it out! read more

I absolutely love this store. I've always enjoyed shopping at steadfast supply because they have such unique and beautiful things. It's important to me to buy local and natural products and steadfast has a plethora of items that meet this criteria. During COVID, they quickly pivoted to online orders which I really appreciated. I had a friend in NY that suffered many losses and Virginia helped me put together the PERFECT care package. My friend loved it and called me in tears because she was so thankful for her gift. They started carrying masks and I ordered right away and picked up the next day. My mom in MI even ordered some because they were beautifully made and shipped very quickly. Thank you, Virginia and Steadfast Supply! Glad to be your neighbor and customer. read more

love the store and everything about it. Small woman owned, perfect. And you never know what you'll find. I may go in looking for one thing and leave with "it" and something else! Wonderful people. This store is my happy place. The vibe is unique for DC IMHO and sort of reminds me of something you'd find in SF... airy west coast with a little east coast grit sprinkled in maybe. You can tell that everything, from the staff to the selection, to the music, was meticulously chosen with care and it makes for an awesome place to frequent. Most recently I learned about their events calendar and I highly recommend checking that out on their website or in store (or here, as I couldn't resist taking a pic) read more

There's handmade jewelry, unique bath salts, seasonings, and hella opportunities for GIFTS! All of the items are great quality and unique. You pay for quality here and prices will reflect that. It's a cool gift shop if you're looking for unique, handmade goods. They have a nice selection of jewelry, cards, art,and foodstuffs. I ended up buying some chocolate and chocolate spice crackers. I learned about Steadfast Supply in a very round about way. Last year at the American Field Event at Union Market in Oct, I found a jeweler I wanted to buy rings from. But then I spent $$$ on a lamp instead. When I finally found that jewelry maker online, I ordered some rings but she also told me she sells her jewelry locally through Steadfast Supply. So of course I had to check it out and buy more! The shop is in the Navy Yard among the strip of other shops and restaurants. It's a well curated shop filled with some really gorgeous things. It's not the cheapest but when know that you're supporting small biz artists both local and not so local (think Detroit), I don't feel so bad spending a little extra. I can definitely see myself returning here around the holidays for some unique gifts. read more
