I have never pushed a stroller before 2. The price of a stroller range from a minor purchase to exceeding one thousand of dollars... what do you get for your money?? You'll never figure this out by looking at them online or reading. You have to push it around a bit. ChatGPT will tell me? Nope. You have to try it out. 3. How do you collapse these things? Or extract out the detachable bassinet? Or put the second bassinet in there? They do not let you do this at Target or any other store we've been to. There was staff giving impromptu lectures on how they work, can they be carried onto a plane, do you have to gate check them, anything you'd want to know. Frankly, I have no idea how you'd make this purchase otherwise. Sure, maybe you're a baby-strolling veteran, and know all the latest, but I didn't. Same thing with car seats. Some swivel out and make it easy to extract your child. Others let you pop the bassinet out of the car seat and put it right on the stroller... but not all of them... and not all brands mix and match. I'm telling you... as a soon-to-be first-time dad, I left there so much more knowledgeable about how to approach this problem. I learned pitfalls, preferences, and, most importantly, what it feels like behind the wheel of a baby-moving contraption that seems on par with the Mars rover.

And the service is friendly, which is so important and relatively rare in indies. I've been to so many other indies where the staff are just weirdly hostile or look like they can't care less about customer service just because they're intellectual or whatever. This store makes me feel good about not buying from Amazon, whereas some other bookstores just lecture you about it and don't do anything to make you want to stay and spend money. It does get crowded on weekends. Also, be prepared to overhear lots of 20-somethings talk to each other like they're trying to impress. They have now opened up their own storefront next to their office, complete with a "Notebook Bar," but there is little reason to buy the products here instead of another store, unless you are in immediate need of a notebook while in Ivy City (but at that point, just go to Target, unless you are really want something fancy). They do have a small selection of items from other companies, but none of it is must have, unless you must have $20 paper clips. A selection of items at different price points would be nice. I booked an appointment at the Notebook Bar (with a giftcard that covered most of it). I'm not sure what I was expecting, but it was pretty underwhelming. You just fill out a form and watch someone build it for you. I guess I would have liked to have been a part of the building process somehow. I have more fun buying their products off the shelf from cooler stationery stores. I did build a "half and half" notebook, which maybe is supposed to be something special. It was just lined paper in the front, then dotted grid paper in the back, which is essentially two different notebooks, so I might as well buy them separately elsewhere. My favorite part of the whole experience was the plastic button envelope that protected my notebook. In short, products are great and the staff is nice, I am just unlikely to visit this specific store in the future. It's skippable, especially if you don't live in the area.
