The owner listed it at $2,300 with a 55% payout and claimed it would sell within weeks. Instead, I spent six months chasing updates through texts, calls, emails, and website tickets. By summer, they stopped responding entirely. When I visited on September 2, they refused to answer a basic question without an appointment and made me wait until September 11. At that appointment, the owner repeatedly disparaged my bag as outdated, then told me it had sold for $1,875. She initially tried to pay me only 50%. Only after I produced the contract did she apologize and acknowledge the agreed 55%. Even then, my final payment was less than 55% because they deducted an undisclosed "processing fee" of several dozen dollars--something never mentioned throughout the entire process. Six months of silence, condescension, attempted underpayment, and a surprise fee. I'll take my other luxury bags to New York. Avoid this store.

When I first started consigning, I was told that if there was something I *really* didn't want donated, I could let them know. If they decided not to sell that item, I was obligated to come back immediately to get it. I thought that was a nice thing to do, especially since it creates good will with their consigners. One of the last times that I consigned, I explained to the shop-person that there was a piece I wanted to hold onto if they didn't want to sell it, and I was given some eyerolls and told that this is not something Secondi does. They did complete a quick assessment for me, which I appreciated, but the attitude around it made me feel very uncomfortable. It might be helpful if all the shop folks were on the same page about guidelines! Otherwise, Secondi has been around since I was in high school (and probably even before that), so it's a real DC institution. It's one of the most well known consignment shops in DC, and I do think they do a great job curating their wares and they do not sell mass-market/lower quality items.

Thr6 have all kinds of stuff, most of the things are hand-made and originate from various countries. There are also several hundred unique orientak rugs which I wanted to check-out more. There is definitely a Persian flare just based on the otomans and many more statues that appear to orinate from Egypt. I bought a hippie stule wind chine for my apartment and it's very cool. There are two levels however I didn't venture up tonthe 2nd level. I would definitely encourage people to come and check it out. Beware of the cats while you're walking around inside.

Over multiple visits I've come away with pieces that anchor my apartment: an Indo-Persian repoussé silver tray, cut crystal, a vintage Chinese vase, and most recently the bronze bust in the photos. The selection rotates constantly and the quality rivals shops charging several times the price. The proceeds support children in need, the volunteers are gracious and knowledgeable, and the whole experience feels like Georgetown at its best. If you love the hunt, put this place on your list.

This was a Lion and Tigers and Bears OH MY situation! It's quite crowded in here. Not cluttered but crowded. They have soooo much stuff and it's all in order. This place could be 2-3 floors easy!! I saw all of my fav brands at great prices. They have a huge selection of high-end wear for a great price. They have a huge selection of summer, spring and winter wear. The cosmetics and body care... chef's kiss!! They have everything in every color/ scent/ size!! Cool accessories, luggage galore, etc. I did not take a gander at the shoes as I had a show nearby to attend. I bought 2 gorge blouses and a short sleeve loose fitting denim blue top. One plus I will say about this Nordstrom Rack location, is that they carry a large selection of men's business and casual clothing. This location carries tons of business suits, dress shirts, ties and business casual slacks-pants. I think the reason for this is because this location is centrally located in the downtown DC area and business district that is primarily surrounded by law offices, lobby firms, consulting firms and federal government agencies. You often don't find this at a lot of Nordstrom Rack and bargain clothing, places like Marshall's/TJMaxx around the DMV. There are also tons of men's athletic shoes, casual sneakers, great running shoes and dress shoes. In all, you can't go wrong shopping here. Although, the Pentagon City location is more my speed. This location is not all bad. Lots of good finds and decent customer service. Just have a little patience and time to roam around this treasure trove!
