As an avid thift store/flea market/garage sale/yard sale junkie, the Georgetown Flea Market has EVERYTHING I love about, what I call, The Art of the Find. Haggle, dicker, bargain, negotiate - it's a wonderful way to spend any day of week; however, the Flea is only open 8am-4pm, weather permitting, on Sundays, so plan accordingly. The flea wraps up, around and behind the school there, so be sure to make the full run - there are treasures EVERYWHERE! Plenty of street parking, Safeway across the street for refreshments or to use the "facilities" - a most EXCELLENT plus! Vendors are friendly and easy to work with - pleasant interactions and, generally, affordable transactions. Of course at a flea, variety is key and there is PLENTY of it here. You can pick up outdoor, indoor and international items for your home - even fresh flowers, starter plants for gardens AND SUCCULENTS - the best plant variety out there for an apartment garden! my first flea market ever! kind of underwhelming i dunno when i went there was mostly jewelry (bracelets, rings, necklaces), clothing (secondhand shirts, tops, +pants). id say the pricing isnt that bad, the rings were like ~$8 each. someone i know got a really similar chrome hearts ring dupe for $12. (?!!) uhh writing this review i dont think i actually explored the whole market .... a LOT of vendors were selling the same jewelry. in the farther back (which i enjoyed wayy more) there was a record booth, pins, as well as crochet dollies. read more

I have been shopping at the Georgetown flea market for years and love it. This is a place to go for rare finds and a great time overall. I was so disappointed when I ran in to one of my favorite vendors who informed me that she was put out of the market by the manager, Ace, because she was unwilling to negotiate with a customer on the price of one of her items. I was shocked to learn of her predicament as she was one of my favorite vendors at this lively market. I bought quite a lot of her pottery and she helped me to create a unique collection of her pottery pieces. No other vendor has the specific panache that she does. Personally I think the prices of her beautiful pottery are fair and the quality of her inventory is unrivaled. It is so unfair for a person to dictate how a vendor manages their business, especially with this vendor who was ethical, personable and reliable. I am so disappointed in this management style that I do not intend to patronize this market again. I hope others will consider this business practice before seeking to vend there. read more

What a fun way to spend a Sunday morning in Georgetown. In the parking lot of a school are tons of vendors selling vintage items, handcraft goods, clothes, and more. My family of three had a blast browsing each stand and buying a few items like a necklace for our daughter. The coffee stand at the market was excellent- highly recommend. One thing to note is there are no public restrooms, but the Safeway across the street has three. read more

This is my favorite flea market in the #DMV currently! So many antiques and vintage goodies. I have found some great pieces to add to my collection. I currently have a vintage watch obsession so that is what I have been hunting for and I've found some unique pieces here. All the vendors are very friendly and most of them have been setting up shop here for decades. Even if you don't buy anything it's still a fun place to visit. So many rare finds and very budget friendly! I can't wait to go back! read more

Great day event to check out local farmers market and vendors. We had a great time walking around and checking things out.

Really great way to spend a Sunday if you're in the city or interested in thrift/vintage shopping. Open every Sunday from 8 AM - 4 PM. About 30-40 vendors with wares ranging from jewelry, clothing, records, plants, furniture, houseware and knick knacks. Strange setup but vendors were friendly and prices seemed fair for most items we browsed. I'd be careful to shop around before buying as some of the jewelry vendors had identical pieces at different prices. Parking was plentiful in the nearby area and lots of things to do before or after considering the location. Not many if any food vendors but lots of places to eat nearby. Will be back! read more

Flea market? More like old vintage garbage being sold out of vans. Just not what I expected, nothing was an official vendor and all of the prices seemed made up. The only nice thing I saw were some paintings/portraits but we were traveling from afar so we weren't taking any large portraits home. My first visit to the Georgetown Flea Market was shortly after it's reopening in Georgetown. It is held every Sunday from 8am-4pm on the grounds of Hardy Middle School. While not the biggest market I've ever been to, there was certainly still plenty to browse. I think my friend and I were wandering around the stalls for a couple hours at least, but we were taking our leisurely time. I walked away with some pretty nice finds including some jewelry and some wall art. I haven't been back since my first visit earlier this fall but today was admiring the picture I purchased from there... which reminded me I have to go back! (since the holiday season is approaching!) They also have a location in Arlington (which was where the market had relocated to while the Gtown location was closed) that still operated on Saturdays and Sundays (http://www.yelp.com/biz/georgetown-flea-market-arlington). The Georgetown Flea Market is a great spot to consider stopping if you're in the area on a Sunday afternoon. Bring cash though, because only a few vendors are able to take credit cards (and some require a minimum purchase to do so). read more

Its OK. A nice way to pass a warm summer afternoon in the city. And parking was much more plentiful than I though it would be. Enjoyment of a flea market can be largely influence by the number and variety of vendors, what goods happen to be there on a particular day, and having a great friend to go treasure hunting with. The great friend I had - but there were not the 100s of vendors that I'd seen reported elsewhere. Yesterday there were a few dozen. I nice mix of furniture, jewelry, wall art, antiques, etc... Not really what I was expecting, and nothing like the great urban flea markets I've been to in London and Paris. I had fun though. And there were a few vendors that I know I'll be back to visit again and do more damage to my bank account. read more

Loved it -- totally worth the visit. We visited DC and specifically spent a Sunday in Georgetown so we could hit this flea market up. It's a fun way to spend about an hour on a Sunday if you're in the neighborhood. I've been here twice now and it's fun, but the vendors were the exact same both times and there wasn't a lot of variation in the offerings. It's also a pretty small space. I'd suggest going with a mission (like wanting a piece of art or fabric or a pair of cufflinks). read more

3.5 stars for effort. That's how I would rate the Georgetown Flea Market - if comparing it to Eastern Market - for ambiance, location, variety and quantity of goods. It's a pleasant pit stop in Georgetown for Safeway shoppers on the weekends. The location is slightly awkward, though: its space is sort of sloped and wedged in a parking lot off of Wisconsin Ave. We have found unusual antiques and jewelry here but, for the most part, end up at Eastern Market when we want the full flea market experience in a relaxed neighborhood: *live* music, the famous indoor market (and celebrated "blues" pancakes), numerous artist stalls, area cafes/restaurants AND the flea market. Sorry, Georgetown. Capitol Hill beats you here, hands down. read more

Not quite what I was expecting. I suppose the Georgetown address conjured up images of an Eastern Market look-a-like on the west side of town. Far from it. Instead of independent artists selling quality pieces mixed in with a few thrift finds, this is all thrift. A few steps above the old Florida Ave market (i.e. didn't see any packaged underwear), but not by much. Mostly old glassware and jewelry (but nothing high quality). The highlight was finding a mid-century coffee table with matching side table that was beautiful. read more

Came here looking for a bike but they only had pricey used bikes ranging in the $300+. Everything else is just weird old antiques. You should only go if this type of scene is your thing. FYI, there wasn't any food =( read more

I LOVED the flea market. I got 3 gorgeous chiffon and tulle 1950's dresses with metal zippers for $20 each. Such a steal. There was another booth full of turquoise Native American jewelry and I stocked up on rings. Prices were $10-$35 for the rings I purchased. Very fair. Spent way too much total but leaving extremely happy with my purchases. Everyone was very nice and friendly despite the heat. Bring water. read more

Generally smaller than the Eastern Market crowds - but fun. Antigues, jewelry, paintings and old clothes. It's eclectic but that's why you come to Georgetown isn't it. It reminds you of a car caravan because people literally sell out of the back of their vans with some tables thrown around. Bring a drink and your dog and browse. read more

Vintage Diva and flea market sleuth here! I buy, I wear, and I sell vintage clothes that is (ladies and gents) and I did my second setup at the Georgetown Flea Market (GTFM), which btw has something for everybody. I love this venue and you can network and make your rounds to see what the other vendors are selling, and I'm sure you'll end up buying something like I did. I'm re-decorating my house and the GTFM is a gold mine while looking for cool and unique furnishings and "whatnots." I've collected a few business cards (networking) cause I will be touching base w/a few vendors afterwards. I'm there on Sundays so come check me out and buy some really nice vintage clothes (and the other vendors) and if I don't have what you're looking for at the moment, I'll see what I can do for ya the next time around. Just come to the GTFM and see for yourself what you can get; just wear comfy shoes and bring a cold bottle of water or two. read more

Many a treasure has been found at the Georgetown Flea Market including the 2 Isamu Noguchi anodized aluminum prototype tables which were discovered when the market was temporary in Arlington. This is my favorite Flea Market!!!!! read more
