A $2 sweater dress from Fia's Finds.

I got this perfect sweater dress for $2. Great for a Spring lunch at an Indian restaurant with daughter Najila and grandson Brinx. The dress is sooo comfortable. It's Steve Madden BB Dakota.

Randomly found this store by just searching "thrift near me" and was so pleased! Found a SUPER cute sparkly copper romper with a thigh slit vibe, helped me pick matching jewelry, and everything was a great price. I ended up grabbing lunch with a friend nearby and went back to pick up two more pieces I decided I would be so sad to miss out on. Will def be back! They have a cute vintage section as well if that's your jam

This is my first time here! It was nice there is a lot of looking through stuff; which is cool I don't mind. I ended up getting a dress and a purse. (I'll share pics) Pros They have many styles and designs. They have lots of shoes as well. I didn't see many 8's or 8.5's. I was greeted when I first came into the establishment. Eugene was very professional. Cons I wasn't informed about the bargain basement deals. I heard the lady ahead of me said she got a whole bag for $1. I thought that was a cool deal. But it was never mentioned to me about how that works. But I did say this was my first time here. This is a consignment or thrift store, I love thrifting. The only thing I would change about this experience is the shoes on the floor. I tripped over three different pairs of shoes! They were placed too close by the threshold! Nevertheless, I would come back because I love looking for great items. But if your not into looking for things this wouldn't be the place for you! Btw, I did get 15% off for checking in but I didn't go to my total It went to one item because the purse I got was already 50% off.

Omg had a fabulous time yesterday at the fill a bag for $25 fia and her staff are so much fun a very professional even when some customers are rude! Wide variety of items nice and clean the sale was outside yesterday but with some gloves and coffee you will be fine be ready to look at all the racks and take your time they bring extra stuff out as you are shopping I found some great dresses very different styles and a cute spring jacket with lots of buttons my favorite I can't wait for the next sale!

Ask the Community - Fia's Fabulous Finds

I have new shoes and clothes I don't wear. Could I turn it in and get paid cash? How old do I have to be?

Not sure there is an age restriction. But yes, she'll appreciate the new items or any in really great condition. Trade in for cash or store credit upfront, not consignments.

I am wondering if this kind of consignment where I can bring in my clothes and get a small profit out of it?

Hi Emily. Yes that's exactly it. Or you can opt for store credit, which goes a long way here.

All of the items, with the exception of one sweater, came from the $10 and under bargain basement.

Just had a great little shopping moment at Ella-Rue, a consignment boutique in DC that's definitely…read moreworth knowing about if you're into designer pieces without the full-price guilt trip. The edit is solid -- everything from Hermes (yes, I spotted a pair of immaculate riding boots, sadly not my size) to The Row, Prada, Chanel... even some more accessible gems from brands like Mansur Gavriel. I lucked out and found a pair of Prada Monolith loafers that are still available in-store at full price -- except mine were half the cost and looked like they'd maybe been worn once. Maybe. Such a good score, plus I got to support a small business, which always feels better than buying direct from some corporate mega-retailer. And shout out to Julia, who works there -- she was fantastic. Super helpful, super knowledgeable, and when the right shoe went missing (yes, really), she helped me tear the place apart to find it. I had almost given up, but then I spotted a Prada box... and there it was. Victory. All in all: great range, well-curated, and the kind of place where you just might walk out with a designer piece you didn't even know you needed. Definitely one to add to your DC shopping circuit.

This review is way overdue, but I cannot recommend Ella Rue enough. Back in early April I had an…read moreupcoming wedding and nothing to wear for it, and stopped in with my husband. Not only was the staff lovely and welcoming - the glass of wine offered was such a nice touch - they were incredibly helpful as well in finding me a gorgeous red Armani dress at a fantastic price. It only gets better! One of the employees (Krista) noticed that there was a small fix that needed to be done on the shoulder. Before I could even blink she had a seamstress in from a local shop, who came and got the dress to repair on their dime. I honestly didn't notice the issue until Krista pointed it out, she's got an eagle eye. Krista was amazing at coordinating the dress pickup a few days later. I couldn't get out of calls from work so she got the dress delivered to me! I cannot get over how amazing they are, and will ALWAYS recommend Ella Rue. Consider me a customer for life!

Just went back to the shop yesterday -- here are some updates!…read more - The shop is open now on Sundays from 3-6 pm... and NOT open on Saturday from 12-3. Essentially its hours now are Thursday-Sunday 3-6 pm. Even if the door is locked, just knock and the shopkeeper will let you in. - The owner (Sylvia) is going to start transitioning the clothes to the spring season... coming in a couple of weeks or so! - On that note, the shop's strong suit are the accessories -- lots of nice cocktail hats/handbags/jewelry. Examine closely, because pretty much everything in there's for sale. - Starting next week she's going to start making prices static. Yeah, no more haggling, but at least it will be a lot less pressure for those who are uncomfortable with negotiating. In conjunction, some of the prices of the clothing will be adjusted... so maybe that amazing paillette jacket will be cheaper now? Also, I've learned something recently, having become acquainted with the owner. Y'know how it might be kind of intimidating/irritating when the shopkeeper tries to talk to you/make comments about what you're browsing? Well, I always found it that way. All in all, it's just the keeper trying to be friendly, not necessarily trying to pressure you into buying something. Ain't nothin' wrong with trying to be nice.

The prices are to die for, especially in DC where most vintage or thrift stores are anything but thrifty. The shop owner, Sylvia, is such a sweet lady. She gave me a great deal on some amazing pieces I would have easily paid double for and still would have walked out thinking I got a good price. Needless to say I will be going back again and again and will do my best to spread the word about this lovely little gem. I am almost a bit hesitant to share this with too many of my friends, as I want to make sure I get all the goodies, but there seemed to be plenty to go around and the shop owner is just too nice and lovely to not help support. Go there - you will find something you love. Great place to buy gifts!!!

I've had mixed experiences as a consigner here--I'd say probably 80% neutral to good. Overall, I…read morebring clothes that I think are excellent quality/good brands, but understand that Secondi might just donate them outright. When I first started consigning, I was told that if there was something I *really* didn't want donated, I could let them know. If they decided not to sell that item, I was obligated to come back immediately to get it. I thought that was a nice thing to do, especially since it creates good will with their consigners. One of the last times that I consigned, I explained to the shop-person that there was a piece I wanted to hold onto if they didn't want to sell it, and I was given some eyerolls and told that this is not something Secondi does. They did complete a quick assessment for me, which I appreciated, but the attitude around it made me feel very uncomfortable. It might be helpful if all the shop folks were on the same page about guidelines! Otherwise, Secondi has been around since I was in high school (and probably even before that), so it's a real DC institution. It's one of the most well known consignment shops in DC, and I do think they do a great job curating their wares and they do not sell mass-market/lower quality items.
