I heard about the bag sale, which is for $25, you can fill a bag with as many clothes, shoes, and purses as you want in the basement. I normally have so-so luck with thrifting, but I found SO much that my bag was full in 30 minutes. The upstairs area also has jewelry, more clothes, and more shoes and I ended up buying even more. SO many great finds - Fia has a wonderful collection. Fia was there the whole time and is such a nice lady, made me feel so at home while I was shopping - amazing customer service. If you, like me, enjoy a good hunt through the racks from time to time, do not miss Fia's. read more

My first visit to Fia's Fabulous Finds was for their $40 bag sale. For anyone new, you get about 30 minutes to fill a bag with items from the back section of the store everything from household goods and cosmetics to shoes, clothes (men's and women's), jewelry, bags, and even kids' items. I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised by the variety and quality of the inventory. Let's just say I ended up leaving with two bags Even though I came specifically for the sale, I couldn't help but notice they have a lot of other great items throughout the store. I'll definitely be back to take a closer look at everything else they have to offer. read more

We went for their $40 bag sale which turned out to be whatever was outside not inside the store- that's ok. We were able to still find some good pieces inside at decent prices. It is a bit of a smaller smack but there is a decent selection of items with men's and women's wear and home pieces as well. The employees working there are very nice. read more

I absolutely love this store! I came in for the first time randomly while waiting for a friend and I'm so glad I did. It's super size inclusive and they have a little bit of everything. Clothes, perfume, skincare, jewelry, home goods, kids stuff... almost anything you can imagine. I got this gorgeous velvet and sequin pink dress for under $40. The woman working was also really friendly. read more

I would see her live feeds every now and then and I love a good thrift experience. So I started following this lovely lady on FB and vowed that I would visit her store once I hit DC. Let me say this, the store did not disappoint. I was thrilled to not only meet the owner but excited to hear her story while exploring and trolling for goodies. I found some good buys that I'll post when I'm styling and looking fabulous wearing them! read more

This is my first time here! It was nice there is a lot of looking through stuff; which is cool I don't mind. I ended up getting a dress and a purse. (I'll share pics) Pros They have many styles and designs. They have lots of shoes as well. I didn't see many 8's or 8.5's. I was greeted when I first came into the establishment. Eugene was very professional. Cons I wasn't informed about the bargain basement deals. I heard the lady ahead of me said she got a whole bag for $1. I thought that was a cool deal. But it was never mentioned to me about how that works. But I did say this was my first time here. This is a consignment or thrift store, I love thrifting. The only thing I would change about this experience is the shoes on the floor. I tripped over three different pairs of shoes! They were placed too close by the threshold! Nevertheless, I would come back because I love looking for great items. But if your not into looking for things this wouldn't be the place for you! Btw, I did get 15% off for checking in but I didn't go to my total It went to one item because the purse I got was already 50% off. read more

There's no organization - you will dig and look for everything. It took me an hour to go through the shop - it has 3 sections. It does have some plus sized, but I was hoping for more options. There was about half a rack/ 3/4th of plus sized options all together. There's no pricing on items, you take it to the owner and she tells you what it's worth/price. read more

Fia, thank you for keeping the DC thrift scene alive! I visited Fia's Fabulous Finds about a month ago and am beyond pleased with my thrifting experience. Being from out of town, I've been eager to find a shop that embodies the essence of a good thrift experience- quality clothing at outstanding prices. Fia plays wonderful soul music and her shop smells like fresh eucalyptus, with the help of some diffusers strategically flowing throughout. Women's clothes and more "designer" items are located in the central room when you enter; the room behind it is mens, and behind that contains shoes and jackets as well as other miscellaneous items. DON'T SKIP THE BASEMENT! Fia has a sick deal where you can fill a bag with as much clothing as you can for $40. I was downstairs exploring all the goodies for a solid hour. I think I left with 20 items - including J Crew, Armani Exchange, and Tahari - for $65. I told Fia I heard about her on Reddit and she beamed from ear to ear, service could not have been any better. Looking forward to returning! read more

Randomly found this store by just searching "thrift near me" and was so pleased! Found a SUPER cute sparkly copper romper with a thigh slit vibe, helped me pick matching jewelry, and everything was a great price. I ended up grabbing lunch with a friend nearby and went back to pick up two more pieces I decided I would be so sad to miss out on. Will def be back! What a cute and quaint store! I came in just to take a peek at the local finds and was greeted by the lovely owner. She was so nice and very helpful on how to find quality items. The store has 3 areas and are well organized so that you can get around to all the items. Only negative is that there's no a/c so it was a bit warm inside but that's the only downside. Finding great pieces made up for it. read more

I. LOVE. THIS. PLACE. If you are looking for friendly staff, items that are on trend, and at a great price, this is the place for you. I have been to many consignment shops in the D.C. area and have not come to a place that is similar to Fia's. In addition to her inventory she has awesome events with her shop as well. My favorite is Fill a Bag for $25, which she hosts every month! Just as the title suggests, her overstock is placed in the basement and she opens her doors to the community to fill a bag for $25. That's it! Tell me when's the last time you've come across something like that? I'll wait. My favorite find so far has to be my Stewart W. Satan peep toe black pumps! Fabulous place, a must see when you're on Upshur street in DC! read more

According to the reviews this is a place you can bring in clothes for cash. That is incorrect. I called asking about trading clothes for cash and whomever answered the phone (most likely the female in charge) stated "I don't accept clothes like that". I asked what do you mean and she repeated the same statement. After asking for clarification, she stated she gets her clothes from Nordstrom, and other stores. Looking at the pics, these clothes are not new. However, she was a little brute and rude as she had no idea my clothes are new with tags from Saks 5th Ave and include luxury bags. I was looking for what I thought was a high end boutique but I was sadly mistaken and turned totally off. read more

Huge fan of Fias. I've come multiple times on my trips to DC and always walk away with a new purchase. Clothing 4/5: Fia collects designed and brand name clothing for women only, no men's wear and limited children's. She does include special racks for plus size, so there's a good range in size. There's a definitive style throughout which isn't quite my taste, but digging through the racks you're sure to find something you like. Price 5/5: don't expect dollar deals here. She takes good care of her clothing so there's almost no wear and tears or stains. Designer brands like J Crew and Franco Sarto range. A pair of j crew pants were $24, a sweater $28, Franco sarto heels $15. Go for the bag sales and always check out the basement where clothes range from $5-$10. Atmosphere 4/5: the store is very tight so busy days can be frustrating trying to sort through the tightly packed racks. She has a DJ and margaritas every first Friday of the month. It's very clean and the customer service has always been wonderful. They accept credit cards. read more

Fia's is a "bargain basement" to the max...but in a GOOD way. My MAJOR scores: Diane von Fürstenberg, Dolce & Gabbana, Dooney & Bourke, GAP, Michael Kors, Express If you haven't attended her monthly "Fill-a-Bag" events, you are definitely missing out. for $20, you get a medium-sized shopping bag and free range of the basement and all of its splendor. She has EVERYTHING down there. Everything! There's everything from outerwear, shoes, clothing, jewelry, accessories (don't skip over the rummage bin) and handbags. read more

There's always something worth buying at Fia's. I've gotten studded Ugg clogs for $30. My mom got a cashmere cardigan for $10 and that's just a few things. I love how Fia's is owned by a black woman and how the store carries larger sizes. read more

Found out about this fabulous boutique via Facebook and I was estactic! I visited on the weekend and it was crowded but very manageable to move around and find your fabulous find. The ladies are very welcoming, accomodating and a great eye for design/style. I shall be returning to find more great deals. read more

Pretty small place, but for the size, there's an ok selection. Their basement deals and fill a bag sales are definitely amazing, but you have to be willing to dig and there's no trying on for basement items. My mom got a pair of brand new looking pants from the basement for a couple of dollars. They have some new jewelry for sale at the cash register that can yield some great finds. I got a claw bracelet from there that I always get compliments on! Prices on the first floor are pretty reasonable. They're actively buying and selling plus size clothes, which can be unusual for consignment stores, so that's a nice bonus. When I asked about consigning, the owner specifically said she's looking for more plus size items. If you sign up to get emails from them, they're constantly sending updates about their special events, fill a bag sales, and discounts. read more

Why have I waited so long to visit Fia's?! If you're a bargain hunter, designer lover, or any combination of the two, you need to get there ASAP. The cozy consignment shop has a solid selection of gently worn high end clothes and accessories for all women of all fashion styles. For the most part each item was priced appropriately (H&M and some department store brands were priced a little high in my opinion) if not at a ridiculously low price for the quality of the good. What I really enjoyed about the selection was that it catered to many different styles but still maintained a fashion-forward vibe. When you're trying to stretch your dollar and look stylish, it's important to find classic and versatile pieces that will make your wardrobe pop. Fia's meets those criteria and much more. If you're a true bargain hunter or not deterred by chaos, head down to the bargain basement. Serendipitously I happened to visit Fia's when the store has the $20 bag sale where you pay $20 to fill a large brown bag with whatever you can. Some items are seriously dated (for the right person it works!) but there are some truly hidden gems. For example, I scored a brand new with original tags Missoni skirt ($495!), a new black cashmere sweater, J.Crew cords, Dana Buchman navy blue jacket with gold zippers, and some other casual tops. Additionally snagged a very gently worn pair of black booties. I'm quite particular about secondhand shoes but these looked like they had never been worn. I spent a good amount of time down in the basement and I think I walked out like a fashionable bandit. Everyone in the store, from Fia to the customers, are all friendly and social. This is not a stale and quiet atmosphere. You'll feel happy the entire time, laugh a lot and score some quality threads. read more

This is my go-to shop, point blank. Everywhere I go people ask about my clothes, bags, shoes, and I can only say "Fia's Fabulous Finds!" If you haven't checked out this adorable high fashion store for ALL sizes, YOU are missing out! And of course, what else can I add to the glowing reviews of the $20 Fill-a-Bag sale? If you were out of work or just graduated from wherever and are looking to either spruce or build your professional work wardrobe for that new job or new size(!), Fia's has everything you need! Filled up your bag already? Grab another, it'll only be another $20 for $$$ worth of clothes, you cannot beat that. Not even at Goodwill, really now, you know I am telling the truth! :-) I love this store so much I have to pace myself and only go once a quarter, lol. And I travel from Springfield VA past ALL of the other thrift stores (and yes, Fia's is a THRIFT store though many on here keep saying the store is consignment, the owner will tell you this is Thirft!) I love it, this store gives "Thrifting" a super high, exciting flavor, and I come back for more every time I'm in need/want of a particular or "surprise me" piece(s). I've already planned a girls night out at Fia's store, with my friends which the owner recently has made available to anyone who inquires. I'm also excited to wear my first pair of Ferragamo boots (worth $600) I scored from this shop (for $30!!!) back in January, this coming fall. So since you are now done with my review, what are you waiting for? Go! :-) Best way to get there is via metro, Yellow/Green Line to Georgia-Petworth Ave Metro Station, and then walk a few blocks to Upshur on the right. Also, plenty places (cafes/organic stores) to grab a bite to eat before/afterward! The area is pretty darn awesome looking with all the new revitalization in the last couple years. read more

I believe in paying it forward, even though I would otherwise likely have kept this gem between a couple of close confidantes and me. So listen well: I shall only share this but once. Hie yourselves to 806 Upshur Street. Make sure that you are well-fed, hydrated, and *focused*. Wear a tear-away onesie, or something. You'll thank me. This shopping experience, much like the ability to enjoy the nuances in any other visual fine art, is best appreciated by those who have a trained eye and savvy sartorial skill. I wandered in with a friend, expecting to make cheery small talk and window shop. The first thing I saw was a vintage piece from a LEGENDARY French couturier. I tried to ignore it and moved away. It followed me and whispered "You know you want me". 3 hours and four shopping bags later (ladylike restraint, thank you), all I can say is I will keep Madame Fia on speed-dial. And you should, as well. This is one of the few VIP lists in town worth remaining on. read more

So on November 10, 2017, I got up early and hit up Fia' s Fabulous Finds $25 Basement Bag Sale. I had a fabulous time. Ms. Fia was truly a joy & take pride in finding quality gently used designer items for her clientele. If you are thrifter who loves great finds for affordable prices like red bottoms shoes & other designer clothing, shoes, and bags gently used Fia's Fabulous Finds is a must shop stop! She has killer items ranging in sizes from x-small to 3x. The Fia's $25 Basement Bag Sale was a great deal. I got 13 items including two purses in my bag! Woohoo! Please support this female owned business! Fia is truly a nice woman who was sooo kind and sweet yet about her business. I will visit again and looking forward to the next sale. read more

I found out about Fia's by attending a vendor pop up shop event that was held in DC a few weeks ago. During the event, I noticed that Fia's items were the most unique and reasonably priced as well! (DC has a reputation for hiking up their vintage and consignment items, which I hate) Anyway, after getting some awesome deals at the event, I was informed about the fill a bag for $20 every 2nd Sunday of the month event. AND OMG! Can you say deal! Day of the fill your bag for $20: I made it there by 11am, thinking that I was still making good time... (NOPE!) People were already there filling their bags with great finds, as I hurried to get my own brown bag inside the store to start my own treasure hunt. The result: I found enough things (11 clothing items and 1 pair of zara pumps) to fill a whole bag and only paid $20. Some other great things about this store, is its so well organized. And most of the clothes are designer, but very reasonably priced. There's also a nice dressing room for you to try on your items. The staff is wonderful too... they'll definitely make you feel welcomed and make your shopping experience wonderful. I will be a regular at Fia's Fabulous Finds and do recommend any fashionistas looking for a sweet deal to give Fia's a try as well. read more

This place is such a gem! I live in the area and the only thing I can think that has stopped me from not going earlier is laziness and law school. Either way, I'm glad I made my way here. Upon arriving, Fia greeted us with refreshments and was very helpful during our shopping experience. I became extremely attached to a vintage jacket and handbag that I just couldn't leave behind. The basement is small, but full of great finds and everything down there is under $10, including shoes and jackets! There is a wide range of pieces that can fit anyone's budget and style. Almost didn't want to write a review because I didn't want anyone to find out about the best kept secret. But, I have to share the wealth. The moment I walked in, Fia introduced herself. I just wanted to add - again - how much I love this store. Recently I started a new job, after grad school and then working at home, and needed some conservative clothing. Not the sequin mini skirts and head to toe lululemon I tend towards when left to myself. The owner never makes me feel pressured to buy anything and in fact informed me that one top was a bit much for my new field. In a nice way. Also - this block is seeing some nice growth with several restaurants opening including the Petworth Citizen. They have such a glorious chandelier over the toilet that it will have you chugging water all night. Street parking is still easy tho. read more

I love Fia's (and Fia!). The store is bigger than you'd think from looking at the outside--there's a huge basement that always has great sales (on already very affordable things...) and there's a back room just full of shoes! The jewelry selection is very good, and the $5 grab bag did not disappoint. The space is a little crowded and you have to sift through things to find the gems, but isn't that what thrift shopping is about? Fia is friendly, professional, and always willing to offer style advice, which is on point. She has a great eye for style, and you must keep an eye out for her thrifting parties--what could possible be better than sipping champagne while you thrift? read more

I don't want to reveal my shopping secrets but I don't want bad Karma either. Fia's Fabulous Finds is just that kind of "Pinch me, I'm dreaming" shopping experiences that you feel real guilt for when finding amazing items at amazing prices. I say "when" because it is a matter of when, not if. Even the experience of walking into the boutique immediately gets your pulse racing and your fingers itching to dig for treasures. That's Fabulous right there. When was the last time shopping was fun?! Maybe she should consider a name change to "Fun at Fia's Fabulous Finds." I'm sharing this because of the encouragement I received from the owner, her assistants, and other customers while shopping; (the opportunity to network, build and create friendships, as well as get and/or give friendly advice is incomparable to any other boutique in DC). I feel more confidence, courage and creativity all bubbling up to the surface when I step out in my Fabulous Finds. I've completely updated my style and wardrobe without having to donate a limb or sacrifice a child. Go and find Fabulous. I dare you. read more

Not much luck with the $20 bag bargain (too many people in a very small space with a lot of worn looking clothing). Given that they have this event all the time - I'm sure the selection and thus experience will vary a lot. However, after walking up from the basement - the jewelry caught my eye and although normally pricier than I would spend - I ended up coming out of the store with 2 BEAUTIFUL necklaces - not secondhand, a designer Fia found - and I get so many compliments each time I wear them (and I wear them a lot). The rest of the store has a really nice selection of clothing and shoes - pricier than thrift stores, but cheaper than most consignment stores. Definitely worth checking out. read more
