So after looking around and finding a spot, I headed out. Made my way here and the area was still reeling from the storm that rolled through. The parking lot was a mess and even though they had just opened, they were jammed. I found one of the remaining parking spots near the store and made my way inside. I was expecting a rather expansive area on the inside only to find out that it is much smaller. Not usually a problem, but when it came to browsing, it made for a much more bothersome experience. I would spot an item, want to take a look at it and then promptly be pushed out of the way with another customer with a cart. I was beginning to get frustrated when I decided that I would give it another go. I came here to find an item to put my remotes in and kept going through the housewares section. I had in mind what I wanted, couldn't quite find it. When I did, you could tell it was cheaply made with the Goodwill mark up. I was about to give up when I spotted the endcaps filled with random items. I saw one particular piece and decided this would fit the bill until something else might come along. I quickly went through the clothing but when it comes to clothing for men, this place is severely lacking. Compared to the women's section, it is about quarter the size. Checking out was fast. I paid for my purchase and was back outside.

I visited there for the first time today and had selected several items. The saleswoman informed me of the color discounts in effect today. One of items I selected was a hexagonal side table. On to was a sticker with a price of $35 and the words "red sticker!" That meant the sale price was to be 25 percent off $35. I brought the sticker to the saleswoman and informed her that I was interested in the table. I asked if she could keep the sticker so she will know to hold the item when I was ready to pay. She looked confused and then told me that she wasn't sure that was the actual price for the table. I informed her that the sticker was firmly on that table. Later, she started explaining that she wasn't sure that that was the right price for the table because it had been listed on Facebook marketplace by the shop owner for a different price. She scrolled through her phone and found the purported listing for the table, which was priced at about $235. I told her I prefer to pay the price that was on the sticker that had been attached to the table. No other price sticker was on the table. I asked her if she could ask the shop owner who apparently is on vacation. She texted the shop owner and then informed me that the shop owner apparently said the sticker did not belong on that table. I couldn't see the text that she was attempting to show me. And how would I know it's the shop owner? This table was a 70s style piece of furniture that was veneered and had gold metal handles. It definitely was not worth $235. The shop apparently was trying to sell the item on Facebook marketplace as a mid-century modern piece of furniture. The $35 plus the discount was definitely a fair price. At that point, I told the saleswoman that the situation was shady, and I wasn't going to buy anything from the shop. I left.

Very sad experience and honestly one that felt like racial profiling…read more I made an appointment a month in advance to bring in a large amount of items for consignment (almost all of them were designer with tags attached). I arrived a few minutes early with my things and stepped away for about 6-8 minutes to use the restroom elsewhere since I was told I couldn't use theirs, which I understood. When I came back, the owner quickly told me she had already looked through everything and didn't want any of it. I was shocked because my things were clearly untouched and I had a suitcase with a number-code lock on it. I asked her twice if she had opened the suitcase, and she said yes, but I was aware that she never actually went through my things at all. I left upset and called the store afterward to confront her. She panicked, kept apologizing, and said she learned a big lesson from this. What is disappointing is that I was judged before I was even given a chance. I couldn't help but feel that my dark hair and brown skin played a role in how I was treated and that assumptions were made about what I may have brought in. No one should walk into a business and feel dismissed or stereotyped like that. I do not recommend consigning or shopping here.

My issue is I was never greeted and the staff seemed so occupied the entire time I was in the store. Additionally, most of the merchandise as far as the clothes went are the same style. I planned to attend (for a colleague) a sale being run by Capital, and I had to come a great distance to do so, so I reached out to find out a bit more as I was spending a bit of time/money to be there. I asked about pricing specifically as if it were going to be very high, I just would stay home. They would not reveal pricing, which is fine, but also would not even hint at the general level of items, which was not helpful as I pointed out that I was making a big commitment to be there. So, hundreds of dollars and many hours later, I arrived for the morning of the sale, which was being held at an offsite location. When we were let in it was painfully obvious that everything was in fact priced very high, in some cases even higher than retail. As we all know, none of us goes to a tag/estate sale to pay retail, we are there for bargains. When I complained about my time and money being wasted, the man I spoke to, who was clearly someone in charge, shrugged his soldiers and would not answer me. I guess it comes down to if you want to run tag sales, then you need to be priced accordingly and be willing to at least be honest about pricing and not waste people's time. Otherwise, just go run a a retail consignment gallery and leave tag sales to actual professionals.

However, the items are subpar in quality and value. Over the years, I've been able to find a solid coat during the winter, seasonal home decor (candles, throw pillows, etc.), and journals/planners for myself and gifts for friends. No complaints with the customer service if I need to return something, and the lines are never too long. If you're reading this before January 3, 2026, everything must go so stop in to see they have anything while everything is an additional 30% off. This is their last week at this location.

In fact, I actually picked up a couple of things that were not on my list (e.g., a few scented candles). For my visit, I primarily wanted to pick up a few bedding and kitchen items. I had no problem finding the things that I needed (e.g., mainly pillows, regular towels and dish towels). Like other Tj Maxx location, I thought the prices were fine, especially for the area. Customer service was fine and the store was clean and organized. I think this is a great place to pick up some last minute items, and I more than likely will be back in the future.
