Stopped in here while I was at the Wharf (waiting for a table at a nearby restaurant). My son found a few trinkets and so I thought we'd get them since we had a little time. There were a couple of people in front of us in line, no big deal. But, when it got to the person directly in front of us I began to wonder if they really wanted my business. The woman at the register (who I found out was the manager) was moving as slow as possible, literally having complete conversations about various topics. And she kept looking at me, looking away, and then seemed to just move slower (no I'm sorry, with you in a minute, etc). It was one of the stranger (and more uncomfortable) service experiences I've had in recent memory. After suggesting that I would just go elsewhere where she did offer to ring me up and offered a 50 cent discount for the wait. I did purchase the items because my son was getting upset and I wanted to shield him from the ugliness of the situation. However, the manager just didn't seem like she wanted to serve me and I really felt like I was being treated differently than other customers. I won't speculate about why, but needless to say there are plenty of other businesses in the area that I know will happily serve me and I will never walk through the door of this one again. read more

4.5 rounded up. This store is really fun, it's one of the longest term residents of the Wharf and I've been shopping here since it first opened. It's rare that I stop in a don't leave with at least one item (though I almost always go in there "just to browse"). Diament Jewelry is a misleading name for the shop though. They do carry some jewelry, but it's a smaller collection of rings and necklaces and nothing I'd say to go out of your way for (ie, no unique look or designer). What I would call it is Diament Gifts as they have an amazing selection for just about any occasion whether it's a new baby, bridal shower or just to treat yourself. They carry a lot of clothes and accessories, soaps, candles, decorations and cards. This store is literally packed with inventory and it changes out on a regular basis (it's also good for almost any holiday!). It's well curated but also impressively stocked in a way few other stores are. Another huge highlight of Diament is the sale section. With so much inventory, much of the more themed items can usually be found marked down for an excellent deal. I especially recommend the sale section for cards, I've found so many great items here. The one thing holiday Diament back from a full five is the customer service. It's incredibly hands-off and fairly unfriendly - when I buy things at a store I expect a smile at the very minimum (small talk or a greeting would be ideal...). But despite this I still fully recommend this fun store. read more

Cutest little shop ever!!! I just moved to the neighborhood and kept passing by this shop. As it advertised itself as a jewelry shop, I was hesitant to explore. However, I finally gave it a go today, and I was massively impressed! This was so much more than a jewelry shop. Diament includes so many beautifully curated items that are incredibly trendy right now. I found a hand drawn map of the D.C. neighborhoods--something I've been looking all over for, but was unable to find. There are also candles, succulents, beautiful notebooks and journals, mugs, gift ideas, and specialty items. And of course, beautiful vintage and handcrafted jewelry. Libby, one of the owners, was super sweet and helpful. It's nice to know there are passionate small business owners in The Wharf neighborhood. I'll definitely be back. read more

I was heading to lunch at The Wharf when this shop caught my eye. SO glad I stopped by as it ended up being one of my favorite stops during my D.C. visit! Upon entrance, the boutique was very aesthetically pleasing and contained a large selection of jewelry and gift options. While I probably could have spent hours in there, I only spent about 15-20 minutes and picked up a necklace and Barefoot Dreams cardigan (on sale for 30% off) for myself, and a bracelet and candle to bring home as a gift for my friend. The boutique contains a all types of jewelry (necklaces, bracelets, earrings, rings) and variety of gift options (catch-all dishes, candles, soap and bath salts, planners, decorative pieces for your living space, and even cute little gifts for weddings). Most of the jewelry is considered the "dainty" type that is very in-trend right now. The store also carries other brands for sale such as Barefoot Dreams clothing items and Quay sunglasses. Upon checkout, I met Libby, the owner of the store and Diament Jewelry (they also have a website and Etsy store). I found out that most of the jewelry pieces were made by Libby herself! It made the visit and experience that much more special and I loved that Libby was at the storefront personally meeting and providing exceptional service to her customers. She was extremely accommodating and provided different gift packaging options since I purchased a couple items as a gift. She also included a Diament Jewelry business card, which I plan on using in the future to visit her online Etsy shop since I don't live in the D.C. area. I absolutely advise you drop by if you're in the area as Diament Jewelry is truly a special and one-of-a-kind boutique! Amazing store with a bunch of unique items. A great spot for gifts since there is a wide variety of merchandise. Prices are very affordable. The staff is always friendly and knowledgeable about the items (and there is A LOT of stuff). This is my go to spot for clothing for myself but also gifts for friends and family. We passed by this shop while waiting for our water taxi and I just had to take a look, as I love all boutique-y shops with cute accessories/jewelry & this place gave me strong Francesca's vibes. Adorable space and everything was neatly organized for browsing. I ended up purchasing three pairs of socks and a sticker. Two of the sock pairs I bought were marked as clearance (50% off) and it wasn't until we got back to our hotel that I realized I was charged full price for both, hence my lower rating. I'd visit again if we were in the area, but will definitely be more mindful when checking out. So, I don't live in DC. I don't even live super close to it... Massachusetts to be exact. I heard of this shop doing super cute and thoughtful care packages during the COVID-19 pandemic. I have a coworker who is expecting her first child in a few weeks and it clicked! I should totally support local during this time! The staff was beyond accommodating to my requests for the package - something for baby, something for mama, etc etc etc. I received pictures of all the options, as well as suggestions. I just bought a very 70's inspired jumpsuit and have been looking for the perfect jewelry to go with it. They carry a variety of home goods, accessories, and lotions/perfumes, so you're bound to find something that fits your preferences.
