This General store has a nice collection of comfortable casual clothing and accessories. You can feel the high quality and the clothes are very reasonably priced. Apparel is more classically styled so it never gets outdated. Most of the items seem to fall into 2 fit categories. "Roomy" which is slightly oversized and "Classic" which fits more naturally. However, I prefer the "Fashion" fit which isn't tight but more aligned with my natural curves. Aside from clothes, they have specially designed accessories and stuff for your furry friend. Staying true to its roots, philanthropy is always is full swing. This general store partners with local animal shelters to host dog adoptions events. Adoptable dogs find a home and new owners learn how to properly care for their new pet.

Whether I'm making a planned trip or just stopping by on a whim, I always enjoy browsing the stores. Some days I have better luck than others, but that's just the nature of shopping--sometimes you find exactly what you're looking for, and sometimes you don't! Most of the stores I shop at are clean, and the staff is generally friendly and helpful. The outdoor areas are always well-kept and have plenty of seating for people to relax. The bathrooms are also fairly clean, which is always a plus. One place I'm not a huge fan of is the Starbucks. One of the cashiers can be a little unfriendly and rude toward customers. The first time I interacted with him, I thought maybe he was just having a bad day or was tired. However, after having another interaction with him and witnessing how he spoke to another customer before me, I realized that maybe it's just his personality. ‍ Overall, I really like this outlet center. The stores typically have great sales throughout the year, and there's a nice variety of options for everyone--it just depends on what you're looking for. I'll definitely continue to stop by and see what I can find!

I love stopping in at 3 Sisters (you guessed it, actually owned by three sisters). It's a two-level boutique of fashion for women that ranges from accessories to formal wear and everyday wear. The items they curate are stylish, timeless, and lovely. They've got something for everyone. The prices are incredibly affordable. I mean it's a boutique with a luxury feel in one of the most expensive neighborhoods in the country and you can walk out paying the same prices you would at a big box place like TJ Maxx. The difference is that at 3 Sisters you're getting personalized service and higher quality items while supporting a local, women-owned business. Love, love, love.

If you're looking to add a couple staples to your wardrobe, but this would be a cute place to stop at if you happen to be in the area. The pricing was actually pretty reasonable. The were some items that were a little bit higher than I would have normally spent if I was purchasing anything. I also noticed their sizes did not really go past extra large. There may have been a stray XXL, but I don't really recall. So I'm not sure it's plus size friendly in the long run. When we walked in, we were not really greeted and nobody really helped us the entire time we were in the store walking around. It did not give me warm fuzzies.

When I moved to the neighborhood earlier this year, I mapped out and spent an entire day checking…read moreout the dozen or so consignment shops in Old Town. I've been a devoted consignment-store shopper from Dallas to Boston to SoCal. While I found several great shops in Alexandria that day, none checked all the boxes quite like Vida Style did. First off, it has something for every budget and size. There's a $10 rack AND couture items that can cost $400-$1k+. My regular shopping budget is closer to $100, and I've never left here empty handed. The first time I visited, I was on the hunt for a muumuu for a theme party by the same name and had no problem finding the perfect item below my price point. Today, I was on the hunt for "holiday cocktail" wear and found not only a festive, sparkly A-line skirt but also a beautiful DKNY cocktail dress just my size--and walked out having spent LESS than $115 total! The hardest part will be deciding which to wear to this weekend's party. What else sets Vida Style apart is that, unlike other neighborhood shops, there's PLENTY of inventory without sensory overload. Having worked in retail, I like seeing racks that are organized (size and color!) AND easy to peruse in a reasonable amount of time (I mean, if you have a street meter running, you don't want to be in there all day, right?). Other nearby shops might have lovely items, but they're SO crammed on the rack that I just give up porque no vale la pena. Then there's the Vida Style staff. As others have pointed out, they're AMAZING. They treat you like a human being and don't judge if you're just buying a $10 skirt for your cousin's wedding (guilty). They treat you like family and if they give you a compliment, it's genuine. Also, if you can't get there for whatever reason, they have a serious e-commerce presence. They're super active on Instagram, where they showcase new arrivals and rare finds, which is great for folks who love fashion but might not live close enough to just pop in. Lastly, I was pleasantly surprised to find a robust selection of blazers and suit jackets right in the center of the shop. Other stores have reduced their jacket inventory post-pandemic, but not here. Why was I not surprised that TWO attorneys were shopping here at lunchtime today? They really have it all. From shoes to purses to scarves, shirts, sunglasses, jackets, formal wear, and even menswear, Vida Style has it all. I really can't recommended it enough. Please shop local and check them out!

I wasn't really looking for anything in particular, but I thought why not give it a try. I browsed and browsed for a while, going through what they had, let myself go back to my college days as this was my choice of clothes shopping back then. Not much has changed here, in my opinion, with the selection of clothing. Still has the jeans, button downs, and tees. As I had said, I wasn't looking for anything in particular. I really wasn't in need for anything, but I just felt like it was time to buy something. Not sure if it was the weather that day, but I ended up in the sweats section. I remembered how soft their sweats were and the best thing, how they usually do not have elastic around the ankles. I found them, the sweatpants of my past. Same soft feel, same free ankles. Grabbed myself two pairs, and best part, they were on sale. Staff were pleasant, even though you could tell they were dealing with difficult customers all day. The lady at the register I had, you could tell she dealt with more than her fair share that day. Especially the one right before me who though he was too important to pay attention to the transaction and stayed on his phone the entire time.
