Buying my dress from Carine's was the WORST mistake of my entire wedding process. **Their communication is terrible.** I had to chase them down to find out where my dress was, and it turned out they had forgotten about it until I reached out. **They do not take responsibility for delays.** Even though they forgot to send my dress and caused the delay, they refused to overnight it unless I paid extra--despite the $600 I had already spent on shipping. **They left me scrambling last minute for alterations.** I received my dress only TWO WEEKS before my wedding, forcing me to pay double for rush alterations in California where I live. There's A LOT MORE I could say about other shady things they did to me beyond what I've listed above, but I'll refrain. Bottom line: Carine's turned what should have been a joyful experience into an expensive, high-stress nightmare.

Carine's Bridal is the epitome of a bespoke customer experience. At Carine's we felt celebrated, embraced, and unhurried. We were clearly in expert hands, yet it felt warm and family-like. Carine was in the store the day we first shopped and her relaxed, easy manner clearly sets the tone. We were lucky enough to have Grace as our guide. (I can't call her a salesperson-- it felt like we had an experienced guide.) She showed us gown after gown with no pressure whatsoever. None of the "let's put a veil on you!" No relentless questioning: "Is this the one?" I felt like we were in a special place, but after visiting other shops in DC, New York and Boca Raton, Florida, I am convinced. I can assure you --Carine's is different. It is bespoke-- the experience is personal and crafted for the bride. We were so at ease. So cared for. I cannot imagine how it could have been a more relaxing, informative, and joy-filled experience. Lastly, the atelier is absolutely gorgeous. Think French salon. I did the homework for you-- the finest, by far, is Carine's. (No I had never met her. No, I don't even live in D.C.)

It took me several visits to pick my dress, and I so appreciated the patience, encouragement, and responsiveness (via email and phone call) of everyone who works here. When I first started dress shopping, I honestly didn't really know what I wanted, so I scheduled an appointment to try on _everything_ that appealed (recommend going on a weekday to do this as it's less busy!). Emma was so, so patient with me, listening to what I liked and didn't, and making suggestions. I left that appointment with a much better sense of what I was going for, and really appreciated the follow up email with details about my top picks, sizing, and warnings about any styles that are back-ordered or low stock. I returned later with a much better sense of my taste and was able to narrow down to two dresses, but still wasn't ready to make a call. Then, went back *again* a few days later to try on my top pick again (with accessories!!) and say yes to the dress! Generally, their selection is great-- especially of Jenny Yoo dresses which I was most interested in. They also have many options that are lower prices than other high end boutiques in the area. Everyone that works here went above and beyond to make sure I had the best possible experience and was comfortable every step of the way. Highly recommend!

Sarah was our bridal stylist and she was absolutely amazing. She was so friendly and attentive, she really made me feel special and made sure to check in with me and figure out exactly what I liked and didn't. We tried in seven dresses total, and I ended up trying two again, all within the hour-long session. I honestly had no expectations coming in, I thought I'd try a few on and then come back for a second appointment. But I'm so excited to say I found the perfect dress for my elopement. The one I chose ended up around $1300, which was a great price for how gorgeous and well made the dress is. We bought before we left and it was back ordered, so I should get it in a few weeks! Thank you to Sarah and the entire Anthropologie team, it was such a fun, easy experience and all of the dresses are so gorgeous.

She expressed how disappointed she was by my experience and immediately took matters into her own hands by issuing a refund, personally checking on the status of my dress at the store, and figuring out what had gone wrong. She kept constant communication with me and was transparent every step of the way. Within a couple of weeks, my dress arrived at the store, and she has even offered to ship both my dress and veil directly to me free of charge. With new ownership now at Lovely Bride DC, I'm confident no bride will have to go through the stress and disappointment I experienced. That was my main goal in sharing my original review and reporting everything to corporate. Lovely Bride DC is in good hands now, and I truly believe future brides will have a lovely experience finding their dress there moving forward.

My experience in-store was uncomfortable from the start--the stylist was rude and dismissive until it was clear we were serious about buying. That should've been my sign to leave. I was originally told my dress would be ready for pickup in December 2025. It is now April 2026, and I still do not have it. That's over 13 months of waiting for a wedding dress. Communication throughout was consistently poor and reactive. I had to repeatedly follow up just to get basic updates, and timelines were vague, shifting, and never met. As my wedding approaches, the lack of transparency has been incredibly stressful. I was scheduled to pick up my dress twice. Both appointments were canceled the morning of with no real explanation and no urgency. Completely unacceptable for something this time-sensitive. After months of this, I requested a refund because there was no clarity or confidence that the dress would ever arrive. After that, communication from Danielle, the store owner, essentially stopped. Prior to that, she mentioned she would "tentatively" travel--one week to Cincinnati and the next to New York--to address the issue, but nothing ever came of it and no resolution was provided. Ultimately, Lovely Bride DC never had my dress in its possession and still cannot provide a clear answer on where it is or when it will arrive. After more than a year, I was left without the dress I paid for, without answers, and without accountability. This is completely unacceptable for any bride. I strongly urge others to go elsewhere.
