Such a cute store with really great staple pieces. I noticed there seem to be a theme for colors and it was a lot of neutrals and browns and blacks and creams. If you're looking to add a couple staples to your wardrobe, but this would be a cute place to stop at if you happen to be in the area. The pricing was actually pretty reasonable. The were some items that were a little bit higher than I would have normally spent if I was purchasing anything. I also noticed their sizes did not really go past extra large. There may have been a stray XXL, but I don't really recall. So I'm not sure it's plus size friendly in the long run. I really enjoy 3 Sisters. It's a super cute boutique and the clothes are on-trend and on-season. It's two floors, which is great, and you can usually find a sale rack. Today while I was looking at a dress with my mom discussing if the top would fit me the sales lady said to me "This store is really for younger smaller ladies. Decent clothes here but had a horrible experience shopping here. I almost left the store without buying anything when I spotted an upstairs floor with more dresses. I went up and found two dresses I wanted to try on. My boyfriend sat on the couch while I tried on dresses in the fitting room. When I came out in the first dress, I found a salesgirl (black hair, pale skin, slightly chubby) staring/glaring at me from where my boyfriend was on the couch. Whenever I came out to show him a dress, there she was, staring me down. I don't know if she thought I was going to shoplift or if she thought my boyfriend and I were going to canoodle in the dressing room. However, we were clearly not doing anything suspicious and she made us feel very uncomfortable. I bought a cute, royal blue peplum dress for around ~$75 (partially to spite the salesgirl and show her that YES, I can afford the clothes in your store). The girl at the register was really nice and told me that she loved the dress I was buying. Not sure what that salesgirl's problem was, but she was being extremely hostile when she works in the customer service industry. read more

Not the most impressive clothing selection, it was trending towards "resort MILF" when we passed through. A couple changing nooks behind curtains upstairs, with full-length mirrors in the adjacent hallway. I had fun perusing the accessories, though they were a bit on the lower end of the costume-grade quality scale. Half the rings and bracelets I wouldn't go near after puberty. I found a nice peach-toned cocktail ring, but the opaque plastic made the setting visible enough that I settled for two bracelets. Three and a half stars, I'll be back another season in hopes that their attire options improve. In the meantime, Lou Lou on the opposite corner wins out for accessory choices. read more

Andrea, Stavroulla, Stella and Athina, There seems to be a prevalent issue at your establishments, our girls experienced it this past weekend and other reviewers in Yelp and Google Reviews experienced it as far back as a decade ago. Your employee chose to follow my daughter and her friend around the store, yet she was more relaxed with a different group of girls that were trying on clothes freely. After our girls left the necklace area, your employee followed to make sure all necklaces were accounted for. Then later when they were trying clothes in the upstairs dressing rooms, your employee stopped my daughter and sternly told her that they were not allowed to try any dresses (they were not trying any dresses) then in an accusatory tone she asked to see the items they had with them in the dressing room. They observed that they were the only ones being treated this way, they're both latinas. When we heard about their experience, we were furious and it prompted us to go back to your store at once and confront your employee. She offered excuses and insincere apologies of "that's my job", "that's the way I have to be", etc. Then my daughter, a very quiet and reserved kid, gathered the courage to speak up and crying told your employee that she made her feel bad. Your employee, displaying a big grin of amusement on her face, responded with "I'm sorry if you felt like that". We walked out soon thereafter. So when I read your response of "false accusations" it really makes me sick to my stomach. My daughter and her friend's awful experience at your store were very real, their feelings of being profiled and singled out were very real. The dismissive attitude of your employee towards a kid that's trying to share how she felt was very real. Please own up. To our surprise, it appears this was not an isolated incident. After we left your store, we found the negative reviews that people had left of your stores over the years and in them, there's a common theme that can't be ignored and that's of prejudice. If you haven't, please go read them while they're still up there. You say that this "is not who we are" and I really want to believe you but words are cheap, so I ask you to please fix whatever is making some groups of people feel unwelcome at your establishments. We respectfully decline your invitation to meet. All that needed to be said is here and in the paragraphs of the negative reviews left by people that visited your stores in the past. Show the Northern Virginia community that you truly are going to address the root cause of the problem once and for all. read more

I'm not a huge fan of their clothing, but I do love their accent jewelry and sunglasses. They have a wide range of accessories in varied colors and sometimes by theme. Like last fall it was all about Kate the princess of England, then in March it was Saint Patricks day themed. Ok, ok, you got me so I've been there many times, but each time it's been different which I think is a neat aspect of the store. I was trying to support Small Businesses on Black Friday. I love this store. However, they seem to need a better system! I waited in line for about ten minutes while they tried to figure out to process a gift card purchase. They had to make a few calls. That didn't work. No one seemed to have an answer. There was a line forming. Unfortunately, at that point I had to put my purchases back (about $125) because I no longer wanted to wait. Seems to me, with the digital economy, a gift card should be easier to process and not cause a backup at the the register. read more

Out of town visitor shopping and bought an item that I wasn't not anticipating on returning and ended up needing to return as the item was no longer needed due to unforeseen circumstances. The store refused a full refund back onto my credit card and told me they only offer refunds in the form of store credit and gift cards. The very tiny small print sign saying this isn't noticeable to customers and store employees should tell you this at the register. This is poor poor business and will not recommend this store to anyone in the nova area or dmv area at all let alone fellow out of town people. If I pay for an item I expect a full refund by cash or credit card if that's how it was paid not a gift card to a store I will never be visiting again. This could just be an issue for me but I have had a gift certificate for 3 Sisters for the longest time but every time I stop in there, nothing strikes me as something I "have" to have. And I think it boils down to the pricing. I feel like many of the items they carry could be purchased elsewhere for less. But I do suppose that perhaps it's the rent of the location that drives costs up. Anyways, the only other critique I would have is that the organization is a bit lacking and it makes me uncomfortable when employees follow literally right behind me to disperse the items on the rack meticulously but the clothes are very cute and all the staff I have encountered have been very warm and friendly and offer assistance without being pushy. read more

My favorite shop on King Street! I can't tell you how many dresses I've purchased from 3 Sisters- it's a great boutique to shop when you need an outfit for an upcoming event: wedding, party, etc. They have a colorful and fun selection of clothing. Everything from dresses, blouses, pants, shorts, and skirts to accessories like jewelry and handbags. The target market is probably a little younger than I am (I bet they say they cater to women up to their late-20s/30s, but I'm not sure that's true). However, if you're willing to look you'll definitely find something suitable for those of us who are no longer in high school or college. The prices are decent- comparable to other boutiques. The dresses I've purchased are great quality and none were more than $50. They also always have items on sale (upstairs). I bought two dresses for $10/each from the sale rack and I love both of them! Wore one last night, actually :) Finally, the staff is very friendly and helpful. I've had many conversations with sales associates who give me honest opinions on outfits and are just generally pleasant to chat with. One young lady (blonde working on the second floor- I can't remember your name, sorry!) even chatted with me for almost an hour and gave me suggestions on where to go for a Charleston trip that I was currently planning with some girlfriends. I was walking around Old Town, when I saw lots of fun colors through the door of this shop. I walked into the store and I am so glad that I did. This store is full of fun dresses, clothes, and jewelry. I wanted to buy everything. There are actually 2 levels, with all of the colorful items on the main floor and the black and white items on the upper level. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The prices were reasonable on all of the items that I tried. Cute store! First time here and I was looking for a gift for my bestie. She's a girly girl so this shop was perfect. There were bows, sequins, fur (I'm sure faux), and ruffles everywhere. Perfect for finding accessories or gifts, and centrally located for those who like to wander and shop and window shop at the same time. Also, I noticed some folks complain if they experience too much interaction with the employees (it makes them feel like they're being pressured to buy or "shadowed"), and some folks complain if there's too little interaction (that the customer service is thus poor or nonexistent). This was a horrible experience. The clothes and accessories are cute. I love the bright colors they have for spring, however, it was hard to even get a "hello" at the door. I am unsure if it is because I am black, but this happened when I have visited the store twice. Multiple workers gave me an up and down stare, followed by a tight lip smile ( I wouldn't even call it a smile). On both occasions I had to force the sales women to say hello by walking up to them and saying hello first. Your clothes aren't that high quality to be treating your customers with such disrespect. Oh! Did I mention that on both occasions, I walked through the door and no one greeted me? Did I mention that seconds later, Caucasian women walked through the door and received a warm welcome?
