Kofi & the ladies listened to my needs, took a 3D measurement of my feet, and found several options to cover not only my basic sandal need, but also the cute sandal & basic sneaker areas of my life. They didn't even push me to buy everything now, just know what works for me and what I can come back for after purchasing what I need now. I didn't have a lot of time and wasn't expecting to find anything but I quickly saw a pair of black nubuck sandals that caught my eye. The salesman was quite efficient and helpful. He took a scan of my feet and told me a few things about them. He grabbed the shoes and I tried them on and then I asked him if these fit or not. Sometimes at other stores you will get a shoes salesman and he will just say "if you feel comfortable," which is not helpful. He noticed that my left foot didn't fit the shoe as well and he offered to go across the street to the other store and grab a half size smaller. I didn't wait long for him to come back and I am sure glad I tried on the half size smaller and it fit perfectly and my feet immediately felt comfortable in this pair. I actually tested out these sandals the next day while walking through Luray Caverns (about a mile and a quarter walk) and they were super comfortable. I am tempted to call them to see if they can find me another pair (if you have difficulty finding shoes, buying 2 pairs of the same shoe before they stop making them is a godsend). I was in and out of the store in about 15 minutes-- fastest shoe sale of my life! Also, there were a lot of people in the store, so I feel with the combination of good styles and excellent customer service, I am not surprised why this place does well. He said he would grab them from the other store, which was only a short distance away, and brought them over for me to try. I tried the shoes on and looked at them in the mirror, but the comfort felt very different compared to what I'm used to with my HOKAs. I mentioned that to Frank, and his response was, "Well yeah, you're used to all that cushion." The way he said it came across as dismissive, rather than trying to understand what I was looking for in a shoe. After that, he took the right shoe off me and put it back in the box. When I took off the other shoe, he did the same thing without asking if I wanted to try a different pair, suggesting another option, or even asking if I had any other questions. I understand that not every shoe is going to feel right for everyone, but I expected more customer service when shopping for something as personal as footwear. I left feeling like my business wasn't wanted. I hope management sees this and speaks with their employees about making customers feel welcomed and actually helping them find the right shoe. Unfortunately, after this experience, I won't be returning to Comfort One.
