Sizing-perfect fit- best running/walking shoes o have had . The staff was so helpful and patient.

Second experience of pressure sales at this store. The sales person was visibly upset that we didn't even want to try the very expensive insoles. We ended up just buying the (expensive) shoes and he was rude. Two stars because they have a good selection of shoes. A little sales training would go a long way to help. Probably won't give them a third try. read more

Minnie was amazing. She was very knowledgeable and clearly an expert. She was also extremely patient.

Very very weird customer service experience all around. To preface, I am a runner, I have purchased several pairs of running shoes and am very familiar with shoe types, therefore I knew exactly what I was looking for when I walked in. After waiting 15 minutes to be greeted, I asked to try on a specific pair of shoes and the employee with the brown locs was extremely rude and condescending - instead of asking any questions at all, immediately upon asking him to try on the shoes he gave a condescending remark assuming I didn't know anything about the shoes I was asking for, cut me off mid sentence and passed me a tablet to fill out a very long "required" pre-assessment and walked away. I'd understand if it was my first rodeo, but I literally walked in wearing running shoes (Sauconys at that!!!) and told him exactly what I was looking for. Anyways, I left the store to purchase my shoes from Pacers instead. read more

Minnie was incredibly patient, kind, and understanding. She brought out numerous shoes for me to try and waited patiently as I tried them on. She listened to my concerns attentively. I would highly recommend this store for their excellent quality and service. read more

Totally pushy about joining their membership. Apparently, the only way to return your shoes is if you are a member. So the associate said that the membership was "free" for the first year, but they actually charge $19.99 on your receipt and then they give you 10% off the shoes, so my savings was actually $4.50. The associate explained that the membership was " free" because the discount offset the price. So now I have a membership that I don't want and I'm going to have to spend time on the phone to cancel it. I do not shop there enough to make it worth it and they don't have enough shoe styles there that I would buy. The actual service that they provide, which is scanning your feet and doing an analysis of your gait on a treadmill is really valuable. Their Technology allows them to match a pair of shoes that will fit you so they should allow their customer service to do the job of selling you shoes instead of pushing these memberships in a manner that is highly annoying. I am not going to go back there unless they get some better shoe styles in stock. read more

I've never had a lot of body pains, but I didn't know that the few that I did have came from the type of shoes that I wore, and some insoles that shoes have are basically garbage lol. Quality information provided by the manager on duty, Minnie. She was exceptionally kind and very informative, she delivered all the points. I even got socks lol. It's been about a year now, and they're still good! Amazing work. read more

I had an excellent experience shopping for a nice new shiny pair of Brooks shoes at this store in Pentagon City (store 715). It was my first time buying shoes from this store and Nancy gave me wonderful service! She helped me pick out the best shoe for me (Brooks Ghost 15) and I was astounded at how cheap the shoe was, only $118 after the discount I got. I paid $140 for the Ghost 13 shoe at DSW a year and a half ago, so I was very satisfied with this steal! I live in Pentagon City so I'm sure I'll be back for more gear in the future, thank you so much for the wonderful service and see u next time! read more

Road Runner Sports - The Brooks Ghost 15! - Shoe Stores Near Me - Arlington, Virginia

This place is AMAZING. I will never buy shoes anywhere else. Let me start with the team at this store. I'm in here fairly often as it is right beside where I work out (and I have a little shoe fetish), so I feel like I know them all. The managers, Kim and Demitrian not only run a tight ship, but you can tell the team enjoys their jobs. They all know me by name and I always feel like they are glad to see me. Now let me tell you about the products. Firstly, they have a custom fit station that takes 3D images of your feet and crafts the perfect insole for your shoes. Not only that, they can craft different insoles for different types of activities. Minnie was so amazing when she did my fits Fort insoles. Needless to say I have a pair for lifting, running, and cross training. The show selection is current and very well rounded. All the products, from the shoes to the athletic wear is high and and very high quality, and they even have a full line of recovery tools. Everything is reasonable my priced already, but they also have a VIP club that gets you a discount on almost everything. Next time you are in the area, stop in and see for yourself. This place and it's team are the best in the biz! read more

Customers service is not super friendly but giving them four stars since they had what are likely the last pair of On cloud runners that I just love and am really sad to hear are being discontinued. read more

Would not recommend. It took almost 45 minutes just to be helped (there were only two other customers in the store) because they make you go through an entire fitting process with machines and videos (most running stores can do this in a matter of minutes or just by watching you walk). I already knew which shoe I wanted, checked online prior to coming to ensure they had my size and color in stock at this location, only to be told they had one pair left in a random color. Customer service and the system of this store needs some serious improvement if I were to ever consider returning. read more

My experience shopping here was extremely disappointing. While the staff were helpful, the checkout experience was rough. 2 separate associates helped me, so when I went to check out, it seemed like the two staff members were fighting over who could perform the checkout as to make commission off of my purchase. Something else sketchy happened as well. I was told I could receive 10% off, but was not informed that I was actually being signed up for a VIP membership. The membership has an annual payment, which starts a year after the sign up date which makes it easy to forget about, and hard to track down once you finally do see the charge come through. Super predatory. Stay away! They did not inform me they registered my card to the membership, nor did they give me any information about the VIP membership at all. The only reason I was able to figure out i had it was because right after my visit, I was confused about the 10% deal and did some research. Of course, you cannot cancel your membership easily, you need to call and speak with a representative to cancel it, and to top it off, you cannot do it right away. You need to call back after a week to allow the system to "catch up". So many sneaky methods to get new members and so many road blocks to canceling. Very disappointed and will never shop here or at any of the company's other locations again. read more

Expect long waits and no system to their store. I waited over 45 min and at most got a greeting after 30 min. Left because it didn't seem I would ever get any help. read more

I just want to say thanks, and honestly it's through a tear or two. Just ran my first 3 pain free miles in over a month due to some Achilles tendonitis. I thought it might be my shoes so I stopped in here and asked for a fitting and some custom insoles. Stephen (Steve) took such good care of me. He ran me through the various systems that scanned my feet and recommended shoe types, and then he patiently ensured that I'd tried enough different types of shoes that I had a good basis for comparison before making a decision. He listened carefully and made adjustments to ensure I had a great fit, and he genuinely cared that I be able to get back to this fantastic sport. After I got home, I got on the treadmill. Steve, I have you to thank for 3 of the greatest miles of my running career. Thank you, good sir. See you again next time I need something running related! read more

DO NOT COME HERE! Fraudulent business practices. They sell you a membership and sell you the idea you can try the shoes for 90 days for a full refund. I wore them one time, returned to store to return, and was told I can only be given a credit. Was not told to me when selling membership and wording in fine print is vague at best. read more

For relative purposes, the company Road Runner is great and I have used them for a few years now in 3 different states. This one seems to be subpar compared to others. The gentlemen that helped me did not seem knowledgeable about the differences in shoes. He was also over weight and did not look like he is active so I was skeptical about his recommendations in regards to which shoe is best for running/different types of fitness, but I won't hold that against the company, maybe just this specific location (felt like I was taking advice from a nutritionist who only eats fast food). The store also lacked variety of colors/options on different shoes. Three different pairs of shoes I was told to go to Falls Church. Needless to say, I ended up just purchasing from road runner online. Again, I love road runner and am a fan, however will not be going back to this location as I essentially took nothing away from spending 45 minutes in the store. Suggest trying different locations in the area (maybe Falls Church is better). read more

This review probably warrants 6 stars. I can't say enough about the quality and range of available products. All of your favorite brands and running accessories are available for you try on and find. I brought my son in to prepare for his upcoming XC season and we left well prepared. Kelmonnie (aka Minnie) provided outstanding service by conducting his running analysis and suggesting shoes and equipment based on his form. She did not pressure us to purchase and ensured that we were aware of all the stores offerings. As much as I love online shopping these are the shopping experiences I hope will last and stand the test of time. read more

It's clear this shop is very short staffed. They are unable to handle more than 3 customers at a time. This is partly because they are giving lots of guidance and support to the customer they are currently helping with their in depth analysis on the treadmill, but if you're the 4th person to walk into the store, you'll probably have to wait more than 30 minutes for anyone to service you. I left without buying anything because I knew it would take another 30 minutes or more to order the shoes I wanted (they didn't have the color I wanted in stock). Only come here during off hours if you want the experience the full extent of their services! read more

Everytime I come in this place it's usually a customer service disaster. There is endless waiting with zero acknowledgment that anyone is going to help you. Also the sales associates seem to not know their products. HOWEVER, this last time I went in, it started the same and I was about to walk out after 15 min of no help until Kelmonnie started her shift and helped us. Kelmonnie was friendly and attentive and knew all about the brands and fit. And while she was helping us, everytime someone walked in, she greeted them. Thanks Kelmonnie! You saved the day and add credibility to the store! read more

Thank you to Jamar for taking care of my kids and I. It was full service all of the way and he helped me convince my kids that the shoe really does matter in long term health. I can't say enough positive about Kimberly at the Arlington VA Road Runner Sports. I first met Kimberly when I called the store. She answered on the first ring and was polite, friendly, and incredibly helpful. The next day I went to the store to pick up an item she had kindly put aside. As soon as I opened the door, Kimberly greeted me with a warm hello. She is very knowledgeable and willing to listen to your concerns and help you figure out the best solution. It was one of the most positive buying experiences I have ever had. When I left the store, I felt happy and confident knowing that what I had bought would be perfect. I am starting to run again and decided to check out this store. What Amazing, personal service. My fit expert was Nancy and she made my shoe shopping experience delightful. This will be my go to store for all of my running needs. Both Nancy and her colleague Jamarr were fun, amusing and engaging. The prices are reasonable and they help you better understand your physical challenges and how to best address them with the correct shoes and insoles. This was my first time at a Road Runners store. I have gone to Pacers in the past, but figured I'd try RR this time around. I was just there this morning. I was greeted by David, who asked if I had ever shopped RR before. He never showed me where to look, just put his head into his iPad to collect info. After seeing me looking at men's shoes, he told me the women's were down at the other end. He didn't ask what I wanted, just immediately jumped into a fit test. I told him I'd like to skip the test and just try on shoes. At that point he shut down and was irritated with me - clearly. I did find 4 shoes to try on. I was the only one in the store and had to ask for help. He was clearly not interested in helping after I declined the fit test. He brought the shoes to me and left. I was approached by the other employee, Narobica (sp?) who said David asked me to check on you. She was initially helpful, but lost interest with my questions and having to get shoes for me. At one point I asked what the difference between the two Brooks shoes were and she said, "it's stability...i already went over that". I asked to try on a pair of Brooks and she took the shoe and rolled her eyes. She went into the back to get it and I could hear her and David talking about me. I said, not very loudly, "I can hear you talking about me...I'm just on the other side of the wall". Unbelievable. Narobica came out laughing a bit and said, "sorry, we were taking about a friend". Seriously, I'm not an idiot. The partition wall is paper thin. I told her I've been running longer than she's alive. I didn't say it but should have asked why they were so annoyed with me. I probably tried on a total of 7 shoes, nothing obnoxious. I decided it's best to just leave. I don't want to support a store whose employees like to laugh at the customers and clearly think they know better. I drove to Pacers and was greeted by Billy who was delightful. I declined the fit test and she was more than happy to work with me. I ended up buying 2 pair of runners. $350 given to Pacers. Both shoes were at RR. So glad to support a store who puts the customer first! Pacers is close by, go there, don't waste your time at Road Runners. Support friendly, helpful employees - shop Pacers!! read more

Road Runner is not a place for serious runners. The VIP progam, which they push shamelessly, along with their silly $90 "scientifically" engineered insoled, is a huge money maker for them. Their employees know little to nothing about running shoes. BEWARE: the VIP progam auto renews with no opt or notification. For a couple years it was of value to me (you have to buy a lot of shoes!!), and then I had forgotten about it until I got a call from my credit card co. about an unauthorized charged at RR. Not thinking about it, I declined the charge and my card was cancelled bc of suspected fraud. The next day, WITHOUT contacting me, Road Runner tried to shift the charge to another card of mine that they had on file from a SUBSEQUENT purchase! The light wenbt on, and livid, I called to cancel the VIP membership, and I was assured that I had until the end of the year to use my points. Two weeks later I went in to pick up a pair of shoes and was told no, I could not use the points; I protested that I had been explicitly told I could. They clerk called RR customer service and and confirmed that no, I could not. While I stood there wasting my time, I watched another clerk repeatedly lie to a customer about the VIP not auto-renewing, even as the customer read out loud from the terms of service that it did in-fact auto renew! This customer had also been fed a load of crap about the inserts, which he almost fell for, This place is a scam! We have too many good local stores in the DMV from which to purchase shoes to support this kind of nonsense. I urge runners in the DMV to boycott Road Runner Sports. Let's put this jokers out of business! read more

It was definitely time for new running shoes, and my feet require specific types of shoes. I'm usually stressed about buying expensive shoes, hoping that they'll provide a positive running experience. I was quickly relieved of that stress, thanks to Vicente and the team. Vicente monitored how I ran, and quickly diagnosed all issues. He was helpful towards choosing the best shoes for my needs, and providing additional resources to prevent foot pain. I definitely recommend this establishment for those who love to run, as well as those who love to run occasionally! Great team, with great energy. read more

Steve needs a lesson in customer service. He was friendly at first and did my fitting (it did take about 10 minutes for me to get helped though, and I came in the late morning on a week day). He had me try on the shoes that were recommended to me by the fitting system and I had decided to get a pair of shoes but he got very frustrated when I didn't want to buy the socks he was recommending me. He told me that he wanted to show me some socks that were cushioned and "moisture wicking" and was insistent that I needed these socks because I'm on my feet all day at work. I told him that I would pass because I usually wear compression socks at work. He basically didn't want to take no for an answer and kept pushing for me to buy the socks. It was just very uncomfortable but I still ended up saying no. I don't understand why he kept pushing the socks when I was already going to buy sneakers. He also got mad that I didn't want to sign up to be a member. He also expressed his frustration with the fact that I didn't want to sign up to the other employees right in front of me. It was a very uncomfortable experience but I did end up with shoes that I like, hence the 3 stars. read more
