Absolutely as good as it gets. I have been returning to Gossip for YEARS! I adore the shop's selection and I can always find something unique and amazing. My freshman year of high school I wore a blue and white matching scalloped set for the first day. I also wore a white, lace, body-con dress from there for homecoming. The following year I bought a darling blue grid dress. The neckline was a little low for me, but the incredible owner helped me to find a bandeau to make it school appropriate. A rivet on the dress unfortunately came off after the first wear, but the owner was kind enough to fix it - free of charge! I also wore a white dress with lace top and chiffon bottom to prom that year (underclassmen are required to wear short dresses). For my junior year I returned and left with an awesome collection of casual clothes. I had a cropped red sweater, beige turtleneck, and suede army green dress. All of this in addition to the gorgeous jewelry I've picked up over time there too. My mom can normally find something she likes there too and we have different styles and wear different sizes. Overall, Gossip provides a very personal experience. Even if you don't find something you like, you leave with the feeling that the owner truly and genuinely cares for every customer that walks through her doors. read more

Box looked like it had fallen off the truck. The items inside were nice but one sweater seemed to be a irregular as only one seam was inside out and it ran down the front of the sweater. I wear a 3X and these items were running really small so I couldn't wear them but my size 2X cousin was happy with them. Overall I would recommend just size up if plus size. Since today's NoVa Yelp Weekly was focused on Crystal City, I feel this a good time to write this review. I also feel like Gossip should have been in newsletter, and you'll see why, in case you already can't figure it out from other reviews. Gossip has been on my list for years, but honestly, the parking situation in Crystal City scares me, so I've been somewhat avoiding it. I'm so glad I finally went and so mad that I didn't visit earlier. This boutique is an awesome array of clothing, jewelry, and other accessories. Anytime I walk into a store like this, I'm always worried the staff is going to be uppity (though it's rarely happened), and I can tell you that is definitely not the case here. The woman who worked with me was super friendly and knowledgeable about her products. She picked out the absolute cutest top for an event for me. And she was great with all her suggestions and advice. I wish I had gotten her name. The jewelry and accessories are in the front, and then the clothing and shoes, along with dressing rooms, are in the back. In addition to on-trend tops, bottoms, dresses, and outerwear, they have basic camis and t-shirts, along with some foundation options. I was slightly overwhelmed at first, not because the selection is huge (though it's definitely not small), but due to the layout, I didn't know where to look. Dresses are in the middle; tops and bottoms on the sides (mostly). I say the pieces are a mix of fashionista and vintage-ish. Not sure how else to describe the styles, but if you know my style, I can find pieces here, and if you know Sahar's style, she can find pieces here, and we're a bit different when it comes to fashion. Their website shows only a fraction of Gossip's actual offerings. The prices are quite reasonable. I cannot wait to return, and will hopefully have the chance to go often, as they get new items frequently. read more

I absolutely LOVE this place. It's my go-to spot for West Coast style on the East Coast. I love the clothing and the staff/owner is super friendly and nice. Every time I wear an outfit purchased at Gossip on a first date, I get asked out on a second date. Coincidence?! I think not, as I am not that spectacular of a conversationalist and have a tendency to embarrass myself! Everything in the store is shipped from Los Angeles, so there is a flavor to the clothing that is edgier and different from anything else you'll find in the area. The store is small, and the employees (particularly the super sweet owner, Kathryn) are always on hand to help you put together a signature look for whatever occasion you're going to. I find the personal attention you get here refreshing. Also, with the exception of one or two fancy items in the store, everything is less than $100 -- a bargain as far as I'm concerned! The only thing that sucks about Gossip? The fact that I live down the street from it and feel compelled to spend every cent of my paycheck whenever they change their window display. This is a wonderful little clothing boutique in Crystal City/ Aurora Highlands. Near 23rd and Eads, it's teeny-tiny (some walk-in closets are larger!) and chock full of unique women's clothing at affordable prices. Nothing's over $100, and the sale rack items average $20. I got a red chiffon party dress for $20 here yesterday and was greatly tempted by a $15 zebra-print scarf. Or the white scarf with the pink polka dots.... If your style is conservative rather than colorful/ ostentatious, you won't like this place. Gossip's buyer picks up bargains from the West Coast and clearly has a passion for bright prints, chiffon/layers, color, and unusual textures. The store has beautiful, flamboyant clothes and cute accessories at rock bottom prices. The selection is small, but the fashion is high at Gossip. The clothing quality is not superb (i.e. you'll find less silk and more polyester), but you get what you pay for. Service is friendly but unobtrusive. As good as it gets. I am little late in writing my review for Gossip. However I thought this place needed to be called out from what I saw when I visited on 4/1/15. I had passed the store several times while visiting the Fashion Center (above it) and was curious. First of all I have to commend the owners ability to price several items at what I would consider reasonable prices (and I like to shop at thrift stores so that says something). If you have ever been to a "boutique" you know that the limited supply of women's clothing can range anywhere from $100.00 to $1,000.00. I was pleasantly surprised to find pants and dresses from $30.00 to $60.00 and several of Gossip's jewelry pieces which ranged in style from old glamour to hipster from $10.00 to $40.00. The store has a dressing room but overall feels a little cramped. It wasn't a big deal because it doesn't seem to get a lot of foot traffic at once (so there was plenty of space to move around). The only reason I cannot give Gossip is a higher rating is that I am a size 14 and found my size (although available) in very limited supply. In conclusion it was worth the visit (picked up a pair of clip on earnings for $10.00) and would visit more frequently if it were closer to home. read more

Gossip is a fantastic little boutique on South 23rd Street in Arlington, nestled between the row of restaurants and bars. While it is a very small store, it has quite a lot of variety. It reminds me of a rich best friend's closet - it has a little bit of everything. Came to check out some summerdresses, and the store probably had about 50 different styles. Most dresses hovered around $40 - a good deal in my book. There are also purses, jewelry, belts, tanks, spanx, and leggings. There's a good variety of casual clothes and clothes for going out - whether it be to a nice dinner or a club. The owner is very friendly and helpful - when the dress I had was sewn a bit crookedly, she went in the back to find another one for me to try on. When the size was a little small, she searched again and found it in my size. She was very enthusiastic and made me happy to be a customer there. I don't find myself in the area very often, so I don't take advantage of Gossip as much as I should. Make a stop the next time you head to Crystal City Sports Pub - you'll be glad you did! read more

Heck Yeah!!! I just moved to the area and when I spotted this store on a run. I came home and read the reviews and went back today and was VERY pleased. All the reviews are correct. They have super cute stuff and the prices are very reasonable! And the people that work there are awesome! You feel like you are friends with them and we don't even know each others names. haha I ended up walking out with 2 pairs of pants, shirt and pair of shoes for $60! Not bad at all. I will absolutely 100% be checking them out on a regular basis. Especially since I'm so close to them. Keep it up ladies! read more

This store was a real find. I'm always trying to think of new things to wear that are not the same ole same ole. I mean you can really only buy so many things from the Loft and Banana Republic before you start looking like everyone else. This store sells things that you can't find everywhere and the staff is great too. I love that the store has a little bit of everything and it's ideally located next to a couple of sports bars..makes for a great halftime break. I love love love the website too. For anyone who has complained that Gossip is too small....they've expanded! Apparently it was back in the summer of 2011, which means I've stayed away too long. But they now have 3 sizeable rooms, with either 3 or 4 dressing rooms. Go check it out! read more

Stopped in for the first time today. I wasn't anticipating on getting anything, but walked out with two new, super cute wrap dresses. The woman working was very helpful and not pushy or annoying. There was a fairly large selection for such a small place. I would say that for the size, there's quite a bit of clothing. I feel like that can make a shopping environment too hectic and you miss things that you might have ordinarily really liked. I saw some really cute jewelry and some other odds and ends (leggings, purses, etc) that I'll probably stop back in for. Overall, it was a nice find. This is one of my favorite stores!! Everytime I go in I find at least a bag full of stuff to walk out with. The owner is the best and will help you find anything you are looking for. Countless times I have gone by on my way out to dinner and found the perfect thing to change into! She also has great cute comfy clothes. Really nice store with unusual finds. I walked in to kill some time while on 23rd street and to walk off the atracon I had at MIO on Vermont Ave, and walked out with some nice finds for UNDER 60! If there were more stars... I would absolutely rate Gossip higher. I can't believe I haven't reviewed it earlier. This is a great boutique. I have been shopping here for almost three years now and have no complaints. Kathy, the owner, is the best! She is a great stylist, always taking care of her customers, will never let you leave with anything that doesn't look great on you, which is something you would never get in any of those stores at the mall. Clothes, accessories... everything is just great here. There is something for everyone and everywhere. You can find everything from tights, jeans, underwear to cocktail dresses, wedding appropriate outfits, and work outfits, shoes, purses. The list goes on and on. The best part is that there are only 6 of each item and you know you are not going to end up looking like everyone else. And price vs. quality is awesome. I have to admit that I was very surprised to see someone rate it with two stars because of the return policy, as there is a sign stating the return policy which is impossible to miss when you are paying. Discovered this quaint boutique when I was in DC this past week. Although it is small, Gossip offers trendy clothing at affordable and reasonable prices. The owner was in there when I came in, and she was really nice. Compared to other specialty boutiques I have been in, it's smaller, but what they do have to make up for being smaller is cute selections of tops, dresses, and skinny jeans. Lots of color and print pieces that are hard to find at reasonable prices. Beforehand, I had been to Pentagon City Mall, Georgetown, 18th Street, and 7th and F Street, and to my disappointment, I was not impressed. I found that many of the shops I had been to were ridiculously expensive and overpriced. I have worked in the boutique sector before so I am familiar with the different lines most of these stores sell--trust me, they are NOT worth $150-$300. Sometimes, things are worth paying more money for, but if you're looking for casual everyday wear that is unique and at affordable prices, Gossip is a good place to go to. The only thing I wish they had more of a selection on were tops and dresses with some sleeves. Other than that, I recommend you give Gossip a shot. read more

This was such a fun shop. They don't feature any plus sized clothing but I didn't really find that shocking. They had lots of jewelry and baubles to pick from though. This shop is great! They have really cute dresses/tops/jewelry at really good prices. It feels like a high end boutique but the prices are very reasonable. And the owner is so sweet and fun, and so helpful. If you ask for help or her opinion, she is right there to provide it for you but is not pushy AT ALL like typical boutiques. I highly reccommend stopping in if you need a last minute cute and affordable weekend dress, or a ton of new stuff, its definitely very worthwhile to stop in. I am soooooo excited to have found this store... While the store is on the smaller side, it has soooo many wonderful clothes, shoes, bags, glasses, and everything else you could imagine! The owner Katherine is GREAT! I did have a lot of time to shop but I did pick up a cute purse hooker... But I will be returning in the next few weeks to get a purchase a few items! The best place about this store is that there is no item over $100! And you don't have to worry about seeing someone with your shirt out because she only buys 6 of each item she has in the store! I went in during a lunch break because I was in dire need for a wedding outfit. I'd ordered two dresses online and neither fit right, and Tess was so helpful in picking out dresses/jewelry in a pinch. Since it was a Thursday mid-day and only one other person was in the store, it felt like we were friends shopping together and I walked out with an amazing $42 dress that I can not only wear out, but to work, a necklace, earrings, a ring and a slimmer. This place was a great find! It's somewhat of a Forever 21 but locally owned and has much cuter and more practical merchandise. I am always looking for something "different" to wear in my wardrobe and it's hard to keep my closet stocked with name brand clothing. Here you can find chic pieces and for the right price. I never leave empty handed from here and always wear these clothes more than my J.Crew, etc. The owner is super friendly and outgoing and doesn't force any purchases on you at all. Their accessories are cute, but the earrings I bought broke halfway through the first time I wore them. This is disappointing, but they cost about $6 so I wasn't torn up about it or anything. read more
