I need to report an extremely disturbing experience at a Nordstrom Rack store during a recent visit…read morewith my husband. We were shopping for outfits for our son's graduation, which should have been a positive and memorable occasion. Instead, I was subjected to unprofessional, confrontational, and ultimately abusive behavior by a fitting room associate. Upon approaching the fitting room, I followed the associate's directions regarding where to place my cart, although her instructions were inconsistent and unclear. Inside the dressing room, I found a shirt that had been left behind by a previous customer. After trying on approximately seven items, I returned them to hangers and exited the fitting room. At that point, the associate demanded that I remove and hang the shirt that I had not brought into the dressing room. I explained that it was not mine. She became visibly frustrated, entered the room herself, and then shifted her focus to insisting that I return all of my items to the exact locations on the sales floor where I had found them. I placed the clothing neatly on the rack provided near the fitting room, which is standard practice in most retail stores. I declined to return the items to the sales floor, as that is typically handled by store staff to ensure proper organization. The situation escalated significantly when the associate followed me out of the fitting area and toward the front of the store, continuing to confront me. She then called me a "horrible human being" and used an additional demeaning term toward me. Racially motivated ! Being followed and verbally insulted while exiting the store was both shocking and unacceptable. I think she forgot what her job actually was and that was too curate the clothing, and to rehang them up she had the nerve to continue following me and would have exited the store to follow me. Had someone else stopped her I am a 50-year-old customer who has shopped in retail stores my entire life, and I have never experienced anything remotely like this. This interaction was not only unprofessional but crossed the line into harassment. this incident be investigated thoroughly. No customer should be treated in this manner under any circumstances. I would also appreciate a response outlining what steps will be taken to address this situation and ensure it does not happen to others. Huge thumbs down to this store and this horrible little twit

This was a Lion and Tigers and Bears OH MY situation! It's quite crowded in here. Not cluttered but crowded. They have soooo much stuff and it's all in order. This place could be 2-3 floors easy!! I saw all of my fav brands at great prices. They have a huge selection of high-end wear for a great price. They have a huge selection of summer, spring and winter wear. The cosmetics and body care... chef's kiss!! They have everything in every color/ scent/ size!! Cool accessories, luggage galore, etc. I did not take a gander at the shoes as I had a show nearby to attend. I bought 2 gorge blouses and a short sleeve loose fitting denim blue top. I will revisit very soon for some more shopping greatness.

Just had a great little shopping moment at Ella-Rue, a consignment boutique in DC that's definitely…read moreworth knowing about if you're into designer pieces without the full-price guilt trip. The edit is solid -- everything from Hermes (yes, I spotted a pair of immaculate riding boots, sadly not my size) to The Row, Prada, Chanel... even some more accessible gems from brands like Mansur Gavriel. I lucked out and found a pair of Prada Monolith loafers that are still available in-store at full price -- except mine were half the cost and looked like they'd maybe been worn once. Maybe. Such a good score, plus I got to support a small business, which always feels better than buying direct from some corporate mega-retailer. And shout out to Julia, who works there -- she was fantastic. Super helpful, super knowledgeable, and when the right shoe went missing (yes, really), she helped me tear the place apart to find it. I had almost given up, but then I spotted a Prada box... and there it was. Victory. All in all: great range, well-curated, and the kind of place where you just might walk out with a designer piece you didn't even know you needed. Definitely one to add to your DC shopping circuit.

Not only was the staff lovely and welcoming - the glass of wine offered was such a nice touch - they were incredibly helpful as well in finding me a gorgeous red Armani dress at a fantastic price. It only gets better! One of the employees (Krista) noticed that there was a small fix that needed to be done on the shoulder. Before I could even blink she had a seamstress in from a local shop, who came and got the dress to repair on their dime. I honestly didn't notice the issue until Krista pointed it out, she's got an eagle eye. Krista was amazing at coordinating the dress pickup a few days later. I couldn't get out of calls from work so she got the dress delivered to me! I cannot get over how amazing they are, and will ALWAYS recommend Ella Rue. Consider me a customer for life!

This was my first post-COVID visit to the Current Boutique on 14th St (which is now located in the…read more1300 block in the former Buffalo Exchange digs). I was a bit underwhelmed. Maybe it's because I went toward the end of a season -- but I found nearly all of the clothing and shoe options to be unappealing. I ended up buying only one thing (a cropped denim jacket for $17) and even then, I need to check my records because my store credit balance (from previous consignments) seemed lower than it should have been. So I need to look into that and make sure they haven't stiffed me out of any money. As for the store itself, I like the much brighter interior and better dressing room area of this new location. That said, parking is even more of a nightmare than it was when they were farther up 14th. Also, I like that the sales people promptly greeted you when you came in. But I ended up having to hold my try-on items for way too long before someone offered to start me a fitting room. When the employee finally came over to grab them, she actually apologized because she had been pricing someone's consignment items and thus had been unavailable for like 30 minutes or more. My one other gripe with this place is that the music they were playing was definitely not the radio edit. They were playing what sounded like all female R&B artists, but there were so many raunchy lyrics and four letter expletives in all the songs that it turned my stomach. I got a good listen to about 4-5 songs while in the dressing room. The music was terrible and should not have been played in this setting. It just added to what was a lackluster visit! Given the limited selection, terrible parking, and offensive music, I can only give 3 stars at most and will have to try again next season.

I have consigned with this Current Boutique for over a year and recently decided to stop. Their…read moreconsigning decisions are really inconsistent across employees - items that some will take to consign others will not, it is really unpredictable and consigning with them feels like a crap shoot. Better training and quality standards would probably fix this. I've noticed they are trending more towards fast fashion rather than quality pieces as well, so I haven't found a lot there.
