Jose M.

Went there recently to rent a tux for a weekend black-tie event. I had my measurements taken promptly, tried on a jacket, shirt, pants, and shoes, and within 20-30 minutes was all set to pick up the tux in a few days. Pickup went smoothly, though I tried the jacket and pants on to be sure, and I looked great. Returning it was as easy as dropping off. Their hours and location (near Cap South metro) are very convenient, and the staff is as nice as can be. This has been my easiest and best tux renting experience to date, and I recommend them wholeheartedly.

Looking sharp for my sisters wedding

During the afternoon, I am able to go inside to order & browse their collection of clothes & shoes. The drinks are made to perfection & I'm still thinking about their caramel apple butter matcha from their fall/ winter seasonal menu! The matcha's are a beautiful green color that don't taste like grass, but also don't taste super sweet as if I'm drinking sweet milk. My personal favorite at the moment is the Tokyo fog, which is an earl grey tea with matcha cold foam. The staff are very kind, welcoming, & knowledgeable about the drinks and clothing/ shoe collections. I personally love that they have their own merch that you can buy & you can wear/ use it without feeling like you're a walking logo lol. I get anxiety when shopping due to having so many options or other stores breathing down my neck, but the staff makes it so easy for me to shop & feel good about my purchases. I was given a loyalty card that they punch holes in every time I order, which gets me a free drink & I make sure I keep it on me!

Majority of Navy Yard is populated with local chains, and SOMEWHERE offered something unique. BLUE MATCHA - 8 I think this is just milk + spirulina (don't think there's actually matcha in here, but maybe there was so little of it that I couldn't tell). Either way, it was disappointing. It tasted like blue-colored whole milk with a slight "sea umami" flavor from the spirulina. Definitely not worth how much I paid for in terms of quality and quantity.

The young manager, I do not know her name only that she was wearing a Georgetown sweatshirt, would not do it because I purchased the shorts with Afterpay and my card did not match up on the receipt. She did not even let me try my card to see if it would work. Upset, I decided to go to the Navy Yard location. This is where I met Robin, one of lululemon's associates. She introduced herself and showed me some alternate shorts if I wanted to get those after I mentioned I had a return. I told her I went to the Georgetown location first and the manager said she could not return them because they were bought with Afterpay and could only provide a gift card for the amount since my card did not match with what was on the receipt. Robin apologized to me for the experience I had at the Georgetown location when I told her I was upset about it, and told me she would see what she could do. She was able to return the shorts with no issue going back on my debit card after letting me try. She even called me right after I left to confirm with me the way the item was returned was the correct way even though it was purchased with Afterpay. This experience at the Navy Yard location really made my day. Sorry to say I will never go back to the Georgetown location ever.

Lots of great "stuff" and finds....if you have the patience to look around and dig for it…read more This Nordstrom Rack is loaded with brand name products, designer clothing, jewelry, household goods and all at decent prices. The only gripe I have specifically with this location.....is that it is waaayyy too cluttered-- overstocked with just stuff everywhere! And, let's talk about organization to make things easy to find....forget it. It sort of reminds me of Filene's Basement (on Connecticut Ave) from back in the day or a " sub high-end" Thrift store. If you park on the street nearby this store, you better load up your parking meter to the max.... Because you're going to need the time to roam around this place. Note: There is no parking lot or garage..... so you don't want your parking meter to expire because we all know parking tickets in DC is like paying rent or the amount of a one night hotel stay. lol Other than this, not a bad shopping experience here. There's something for everyone when it comes to looking for bargain clothing that's from designer labels and semi on trend. One plus I will say about this Nordstrom Rack location, is that they carry a large selection of men's business and casual clothing. This location carries tons of business suits, dress shirts, ties and business casual slacks-pants. I think the reason for this is because this location is centrally located in the downtown DC area and business district that is primarily surrounded by law offices, lobby firms, consulting firms and federal government agencies. You often don't find this at a lot of Nordstrom Rack and bargain clothing, places like Marshall's/TJMaxx around the DMV. There are also tons of men's athletic shoes, casual sneakers, great running shoes and dress shoes. In all, you can't go wrong shopping here. Although, the Pentagon City location is more my speed. This location is not all bad. Lots of good finds and decent customer service. Just have a little patience and time to roam around this treasure trove!

This was a Lion and Tigers and Bears OH MY situation! It's quite crowded in here. Not cluttered but crowded. They have soooo much stuff and it's all in order. This place could be 2-3 floors easy!! I saw all of my fav brands at great prices. They have a huge selection of high-end wear for a great price. They have a huge selection of summer, spring and winter wear. The cosmetics and body care... chef's kiss!! They have everything in every color/ scent/ size!! Cool accessories, luggage galore, etc. I did not take a gander at the shoes as I had a show nearby to attend. I bought 2 gorge blouses and a short sleeve loose fitting denim blue top. I will revisit very soon for some more shopping greatness.

I have to admit that Union Station in D.C. is really the main train station I know well. I've spent…read morequite a bit of time at Denver Union Station, but never actually to catch a train, and the other major station I can compare it to is Penn Station in New York City. Obviously, Penn Station handles a completely different volume of people, so it's not exactly a fair comparison, but every time I travel through Union Station I'm impressed by how easy it is. First, there is SO much room. Even when it's busy, I rarely feel like I'm fighting for space. It's consistently clean, it's easy to navigate, and the communication around where trains are and where you need to go is clear. I also love that they actually use all that space. There are sometimes little markets in the huge open area toward the front, and there's also a room off to the side that doesn't have a restaurant or anything in it, but people seem to use it as a quieter place to sit. It's just more space, which is something I really appreciate in a train station. The food options are also surprisingly good in terms of variety. You can have a sit-down meal upstairs, grab something reasonably priced and fast-casual on the main level, or head downstairs for the cheaper fast-food options. There's even a post office, which is incredibly convenient if you need to get an errand done before leaving town or while you're passing through. Overall, I'm always impressed by Union Station. It's spacious, clean, efficient, easy to understand, and has enough food and other amenities that you can actually spend some time there comfortably before your train. As someone who really appreciates not feeling crammed into a train station, the amount of space might be my favorite part.

I'm updating my review since Union Station has been making an effort to make some changes. But, I'm…read morenot giving up other malls or restaurants. I had a good time visiting lots of stores during the day. I always use a cross body bag whenever I'm downtown. When I use the red line at night, I take Chinatown's metro stop. The streets are well lit and I have less unsavory characters to deal with. The police have a presence at Capital One Arena and the convention center. There are new businesses on the Mezzanine level that are interesting. A case study is whether Wolfgang Puck's Bar & Bites will stay. A pop art installation has replaced Ann Taylor on the mezzanine level. The space that housed Victoria's Secret is still empty (rip). My Swatch store (rip) is where Amtrak passengers wait for trains. H&M is now on the lower level (where Borders Books was located). Walgreens is hanging in there too. Chipotle is always a favorite (but the 4th St location is closer). The main hall is a beautiful event space. All that marble floor used to have benches where DMV residents & visitors could sit and visit. It is one of the reasons I don't hang out inside that gorgeous building as often. Most of the seating is gone. The Amtrak gates are just gates. All of the seating was removed after homeless people caused injury to Amtrak employees. Union Station is beautiful. We used to visit more often. I loved trying items in the food court. The vendors change over more frequently. Wendy's is gone. Taco Bell is hanging in there. Raising Cane's is there (as of 9/26). We attended the grand opening of Halal Guys. I'm happy they are still in business. The "suggested rule" for dining in the food court area is staying for 30 minutes. I have never been asked to leave when visiting with friends but we're usually in Chinatown where places are open after 8pm. The food court shuts down promptly at 8pm. If you are lingering after that time, all the other tables and chairs have been stacked and moved. Wok a Holic was a disappointment but meat eaters can find a dish (just don't order fried rice). Unos was a big loss (rip). We loved having pizza or pasta and two floors of places to dine. The main purpose for visiting Union Station is taking Metro, Amtrak, a bus or the Marc Train. The loss of the Circulator buses is another reason I don't visit frequently. Enterprise Car Rental has taken over dozens of spaces in the parking garage. The expansion project fell apart & was halted. The Postal Museum is across the street and worth a visit. If you park in Union Station you can still get a few dollars off of your parking by validating your ticket at the bus entrance level.
