Great store and merchandise. Apparently the rude staff is part of the equation. If you want snark, this is your place. Too bad.

He wants you to look good and feel good. Make an appointment. Be prepared to spend money. Victor is going to make you look amazing after all is said and done. Something to note if you're high fashionista, he exclusively sells Italian. For the more fun part of the story, in less than a week, he was able to tailor a suit for me and find a proper undershirt to wear to a wedding. I'm sure he gets these kinds of pressured requests far too often, and I really appreciate him coming through for me.

I would not recommend Dash's to anyone. My experience has been disorganized, dishonest,…read morediscriminatory, and unprofessional. I was initially sized for a custom tux shirt early June 2024 for my wedding on July 26, 2024. I paid $300 for the shirt. The shirt was not ready until August 8 and the shirt did not fit correctly. I knew there was a chance the shirt wouldn't be ready in time, however, I was told by Dash's that it was possible. I ended up purchasing a shirt from Brooks Brothers for my wedding that fit perfectly without any alterations needed. There was a major issue with the upper button/section of the shirt that you wouldn't expect from a custom shirt. I took the shirt back to Dash's on October 12 and the owner Victor assured me that they would get it fixed. On November 2, I returned to the store after being told the shirt was ready. When I arrived at the store, Victor told me there was a mistake and the shirt wasn't ready. He said they would have to send it back to the manufacturer. I did not hear back from the store until January 8, 2025 - in which I received a text letting me know that the shirt was ready and that they've been trying to get in contact with me. Prior to this, I never received a call or text with an update. Nonetheless, I proceeded to go back to the store to pickup the shirt, only for Victor to tell me it wasn't ready. He told me that there's a piece he was looking for on amazon and other sites that he couldn't find. He went on to ask me to look for that piece as well. Then he alluded to my height as being an issue. Mind you, Victor is an inch taller than me. Not only that, it was a custom shirt. So that's a poor excuse. At this point, I am frustrated because I paid $300 for a custom shirt that wasn't done correctly. Till this day, I have yet to receive the shirt. I've requested a refund and Victor refuses to give me one. His reasoning - "they are a small business." There has been no attempt to make things right by resizing for a shirt, or offering me anything to make up for the mishap. I've attached two pictures showing the issue with the shirt.

It has been a minute since I have been passing through H&M. I actually need to Ask Jeeves what H&M…read morestands for.* But that's something I'll do later. This trip was one that I actually packed for. Whether H&M is recycling clothes to cut down on their carbon footprint or seeming charting trends and styles as I believe, I don't know for sure. I haven't done too much research. I do know that for a tied bag of clothes donated you get a coupon and you get a coupon. So now for the particulars...por fín. I have never been to this H&M outpost but I dug it as soon as I entered. I didn't remember seeing security which usually has me confused because I want to speak but I don't want them to watch me for speaking. Shopping ain't easy for everyone. So this H&M was cool. So this is where all the youngns are getting their NASA clothes. More importantly clothes weren't "jumpin' jumpin'" off the racks which seems like it should always be the case but no.@ Also, clothes weren't on the floor and oddly, there wasn't any music playing. Surely this was probably an error but either way, it gave the store a swanky vibe that I never felt in an H&M. After depositing my clothes in the bin by the register, the cashier gave me a coupon, painlessly. I don't know bout you but I always need socks. Never athletic socks, socks. So that makes me a sock snob shopping at H&M with a coupon, ham I am--going. So, I found the socks and before I started picking them out I noticed that my coupon had expired--months ago. So that made me anxious thinking about if they would accept it and if I could get this three for whatever dealio. Everything worked out well my friend. I with three pairs of socks, satisfied with my experience at H&M. I am raiting this 3 Stars because I can't give 4 Stars to H&M, I am sure my socks will wither away before my eyes and the expired coupon was chimbo. *Hennes & Mauritz. @When in doubt, Destiny's Child.

However, this was out of hand! I was trying to return a tie that frizzed up on me after wearing it for one time as well as a few other items I purchased with the tie. Service was terrible from the first salesman I interacted with; and when I told them I was doing a return, he pointed to someone in dressing room some distance away and said he's the manager you need to talk to him. I didn't notice him having on any store credentials; name tag, badge, etc; I wasn't even sure if he was the right person because As the guy approached me, He barely acknowledged me and kind of walked off without engaging... at first I thought that I must've gotten a customer that was not the manager (esp since the first salesman just pointed to someone), but he eventually turned around at one of the registers and beckoned for me to come. As I pulled out the tie and tried to explain, he started to cut me off before I could get my second sentence out; I got pretty irate, as it took me raising my voice and asking him to wait until I finish so I can explain the tie frizzed after only wearing it once and it was defective. He then started making up policies asking where is the tag, were is the box (cut me off before I could even say it didn't come with a box), implying they don't take back items which were worn. However the tie had a big Jos A Bank tag on it. I reviewed the policy to see if I misread, as I reviewed it before coming to the store. The policy was clear, I had 90 days and if I'm not satisfied I can return the item as long as I had a receipt, which confirmed it purchased these items in much less than 90 days. I think he really wanted to argue because the minute I said anything he didn't like such as to read the store policy online, he started taking over me. He promised to show me the store policy before I leave and after the transaction was over looked me in my face and said he didn't have it although he refused to take the tie back and made a smart comment when I requested that he take the other items which I did have the tag. He said his name was Riad refused to provide a last name or initial. But recommended that I call the manager and customer service which I did but after almost 10min on hold I hung up. Yelpers - I am curious has anyone else had a problem returning defective items to Jos A Bank? I see the store usually responds to these, so before you respond, please speak to your manager Riad (?) and help me to understand what was it about me that made him act that way and he really didn't have much to go off besides my appearance? My time has been wasted now, but I am very curious as to what stimulated his reaction? Does the store make up policies on certain people and what's that criteria.

I've been a devoted consignment-store shopper from Dallas to Boston to SoCal. While I found several great shops in Alexandria that day, none checked all the boxes quite like Vida Style did. First off, it has something for every budget and size. There's a $10 rack AND couture items that can cost $400-$1k+. My regular shopping budget is closer to $100, and I've never left here empty handed. The first time I visited, I was on the hunt for a muumuu for a theme party by the same name and had no problem finding the perfect item below my price point. Today, I was on the hunt for "holiday cocktail" wear and found not only a festive, sparkly A-line skirt but also a beautiful DKNY cocktail dress just my size--and walked out having spent LESS than $115 total! The hardest part will be deciding which to wear to this weekend's party. What else sets Vida Style apart is that, unlike other neighborhood shops, there's PLENTY of inventory without sensory overload. Having worked in retail, I like seeing racks that are organized (size and color!) AND easy to peruse in a reasonable amount of time (I mean, if you have a street meter running, you don't want to be in there all day, right?). Other nearby shops might have lovely items, but they're SO crammed on the rack that I just give up porque no vale la pena. Then there's the Vida Style staff. As others have pointed out, they're AMAZING. They treat you like a human being and don't judge if you're just buying a $10 skirt for your cousin's wedding (guilty). They treat you like family and if they give you a compliment, it's genuine. Also, if you can't get there for whatever reason, they have a serious e-commerce presence. They're super active on Instagram, where they showcase new arrivals and rare finds, which is great for folks who love fashion but might not live close enough to just pop in. Lastly, I was pleasantly surprised to find a robust selection of blazers and suit jackets right in the center of the shop. Other stores have reduced their jacket inventory post-pandemic, but not here. Why was I not surprised that TWO attorneys were shopping here at lunchtime today? They really have it all. From shoes to purses to scarves, shirts, sunglasses, jackets, formal wear, and even menswear, Vida Style has it all. I really can't recommended it enough. Please shop local and check them out!

There may have been a stray XXL, but I don't really recall. So I'm not sure it's plus size friendly in the long run.
