This is the feedback I sent Reliable Subaru today. Absolutely not going back. Today was lacking. I had an appointment and when I arrived it was pure chaos. I liked that those who worked elsewhere were helping (Kristina). Excellent teamwork by her. But maybe a line for appointments and those without to decrease chaos. The driver home was very friendly and kind so he was a positive. I never heard anything about my car regarding things that needed attention or if it was doing well. Nothing at all from my service tech. Charging the 3% credit card fee is absolutely ridiculous for a large company. Eat the cost and keep people happy. No wonder people drive to Fayetteville for servicing their Subarus. When I had my key I walked out to get in my WHITE SUBARU (in a Subaru lot) and hit the key fob. Not seeing my car I went back in and asked where it was parked only to be told they didn't know and to walk around hitting the button. I have a broken leg. That's legendary service right there. One gentleman did come out as I found my car. I asked him why it wasn't washed today and he said because it rained. It hadn't rained for 2 hours at that point. Wash the car. Go above the standard a tiny bit. Will not be back. Their response: Jessica, I understand your frustration with the chaos, lack of communication from Casey Kelley, the credit card fee, and the car wash issue with your SUBA OUT. read more

I would not recommend going to this dealership unless you see online that they have the exact car you want. They are sales focused and will try to add onto your sale, and they will try to get you to finance through them. I was pre approved by a local credit union and they asked if I would finance through them if they could match the rate. I said yes, and they placed 4 hard inquiries on my credit report all to get me approved for the same rate, at the same credit union I had just gone to that morning. Experienced very poor service today. After setting a 10:30 appointment to have a bearing replaced in a wheel, I waited over 3 1/2 hours to find out my car never made it into the service center. I've always loved my Subaru, which is why this experience was such a letdown. I brought my car into Reliable Subaru for concerns with the CVT. Instead of help, I left with less power and a car that was running worse than when I dropped it off. A few days later, it started sputtering, misfiring, and hesitating. I ended up taking it to a trusted independent mechanic, who found the problem right away: a loose vacuum line. Something that basic should have been caught during the $179 diagnostic I paid Reliable Subaru for. Either they completely missed it or it happened while the car was in their care, and they didn't catch it or say anything. I brought my car in because I wanted to do things right and work with the dealership. What I got was wasted time, wasted money, and zero resolution. If you care about your Subaru, do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. read more

I bought my 2022 Subaru Outback from Reliable. I had my car in for the 60,000 service. Total cost was over $800!! which included a plug replacement. Two days later the misfire on plug #2. It cost me another $150 for another dealer to fix the problem. Last time they will see me. I'll drive four hours to Subaru of Little Rock for servicing next time. Follow up: I took our car to another Subaru dealership and was told that the reason my stuff wasn't working is because they didn't plug in our lights and they left a pump disconnected. Great techs you have over there. Oh and apparently my tire has had a hole in it for a while and this was not told to me. My new and good Subaru place has reported them for this negligence. Photos of my service notes from the good Subaru place below. "Reliable" Subaru sent me off their lot with a loose battery, a tail light not plugged in, and a tire with holes in it. Excited to hear from Robert who would rather speak to my husband because Robert is sexist. My husband and I bought a used Subaru. Great car, lovely experience with sales. And that's where it stops. Service hung up on me because I asked a follow up question (and not rudely, I manage a customer service department, it was to ask when they had open times). Asked to speak to a manager and haven't heard back. Three. Weeks. So, all of those extended warranties I bought? I guess they're worthless because the service department doesn't want to help you. What's super sad is we love our car, but I can't fathom buying a vehicle from a place that won't even let me ask when they have available appointments. Worst customer service ever and honestly not worth the $26k dropped. Honestly tempted to report them to the bank I got my loan from because they're not holding up their end of the deal on all of the money we spent to ensure our car would be good. 0/10 recommend. read more

The most dishonest, disrespectful people I have ever dealt with. AVOID at ALL COSTS. Purchased a certified preowned Subaru Outback with platinum additional warranty in 2019. Car had had multiple issues covered by warranty/recall. I was left without a vehicle at 40w pregnant due to faulty breaks and they couldn't give me a loaner because every single car on their fleet was recalled. In February of this year my car had a lane assist malfunction (despite the feature being disabled) and almost killed my two kids and I on the highway. I've since learned this is a known issue with this year/model and there is a class action lawsuit currently underway. No more plaintiffs are being accepted because it's happened to so many. I immediately had it towed to Reliable. First they said no issues, then they called back and left a voicemail saying they recreated the issue on the highway and lane assist was malfunctioning. They said they reset it but couldn't confidently say the vehicle was safe. I started an investigation with Subaru of America and the dealership stonewalled me. They refused to document anything that happened or acknowledge all that they'd admitted in the voicemails left by Pheonix in service. Previous to the stonewalling, the Service Manager Danny said "In my 8 years here, I've only seen that happen 4-5 times" in reference to the lane assist malfunction. Not exactly comforting. Its been 5 months of not having a vehicle I paid 30k for just 3 years ago. Not only have they been unhelpful, they've straight up lied (despite documentation) and been entirely disrespectful. I've attempted for months to get ahold of a GM or anyone who can actually help or offer suggestions. I finally was contacted by a customer service rep about a month ago. She talked to the sales manager Paul and they offered 13k last Friday and told me to come in next week. I went in today and the sales manager acted like he had no idea what I was talking about. Apparently he had fired the customer service rep who relayed his offer to me as soon and we got off the phone. He said he would still buy the car and after an hour of paperwork he handed us a copy of the check for 1k less than the agreement. We asked him to honor the original agreement and he refused. He literally yelled at my 60 yo mother who was with me when she asked what time they closed. The level of conspiracy it requires to cover their asses is impressive. They're extremely defensive and ready to flip on a dime after telling something to your face and will fire people who are honest and want to help. Now I'm left with a 30k death trap that was "certified" preowned from "Reliable" and I cannot drive nor sell it in good conscience. When I've consulted with other Subaru dealerships in the area they've made statements like "oh another victim of Reliable" because they've made such a trash reputation for themselves. Lazy and incompetent. Brought a 2009 Forrester that quit on the highway. Probably an alternator problem, but I don't know yet because the psychics over at "reliable" subaru guessed it needed a whole new engine. I asked for specifics and "Kelly" said she would get me the codes from the diagnostic. Then she said changed her mind and told me they didn't pull any codes, and that their "foreman" determined it was "catastrophic engine failure" by "the sounds it was making." I said, oh, you got it to start. She said no, it was the sounds being made while trying to start it. When I wanted specific parts/problems described to me, Kelly said the foreman would have to "look at it" at a rate of $179/hr to find that out. Amazing! He knows the engine needs replacing but to really know-know by doing his job and providing real information it would take a few hundred bucks. Gee, I wonder if his investigation would result in a simpler fix. These people are crooked. Car repair is already a headache. Don't let these clowns make it worse. I will not buy another vehicle from Reliable Subaru. Two weeks after purchasing a used outback I starting getting check engine warnings. Took the car in to their service department and was told it wasn't their problem. No offer to help with cost of repairs. I could have bought a car from an individual if I wanted that kind of response. She worked with me during the purchase of my 2021 Subaru Crosstrek, and helped make what many people see as a confrontational transaction so very comfortable. Thanks Debi!! Five stars for you! The bad - a few weeks ago, the Eyesight feature (which controls lane departure warnings, lane centering, collision avoidance, cruise control, and a few other safety features) stopped working, so I took my Crosstrek back to the Reliable Subaru service center. The ugly - My first encounter with the service department was less than a month after I took delivery on my Crosstrek. One Friday evening in October, I observed that one of my tires was low, and surmised that I must have picked up a nail somewhere. I was heading from SW Missouri to Arkansas Saturday morning, and figured I could stop by Reliable Subaru for a quick fix. My home is about an hour away from the dealership, so I figured if I called ahead, they would be able to get me in and out pretty quickly. When I called, I was told that they would most likely not be able to get me in. I contacted the sales manager, who had also helped me with my transaction a month prior, and asked if he could pull any strings to get me in and out quickly... He told me to just bring the car in, and he would get me on my way as quickly as possible. When I arrived at the dealership, I was told that I would have to wait 3 to 4 hours to get a tire repaired. I left and continued on my trip to Arkansas, driving on the temporary spare. When I left Arkansas a few days later, I called the service department again to ask about getting the tire repaired on my way back through Springfield, and to inquire about the benefits of having Reliable Subaru repair the tire. Why would I not simply take the tire to any tire repair shop? The girl I spoke with told me that they would check the tread depths on all of my tires at the time of repair. The tires had less than 3,000 mi on them... I was most certainly not concerned with tread depths. I wound up taking the tire to Discount Tire on South Glenstone in Springfield for repair. While this is not a review for Discount Tire, I will nonetheless highly recommend them for your tire service needs. About a month before I purchased the Crosstrek, I had purchased four tires for my Toyota Camry, which I traded at the time of the Crosstrek purchase... So I no longer owned the vehicle that Discount Tire had installed four new tires onto. Nonetheless, they repaired my Crosstrek tire at no cost. The funny thing is, less than a week later, I received a brochure in the mail touting Reliable Subaru's Express service, to get you in and out quickly, which included tire rotations, which would most certainly take longer than a tire repair. When I returned to the service center two weeks ago to have the Eyesight feature checked out, I was informed that a speed control cable had been chewed through, most likely by a squirrel or other rodent in the wooded area where I live. When I was presented with an estimate, I felt I was being held up at gunpoint... It was going to cost $550 to replace the cable. Enter Discount Tire, stage right. I asked a service manager at Discount Tire if he might recommend an honest, reputable mechanic who might be able to do some work for me. He recommended Bohannon Auto service on East Bennett Street in Springfield. The Bohannon quote for repair was a LOT less, and included .8 hours of labor. The quote I had received from Reliable Subaru did not include a breakdown for parts and labor. When I returned to the service department and requested that information, their quote included two hours of labor at $155 per hour. I seem to recall that mechanics and service departments use a universal guide (i.e., Chilton) for determining how much labor is involved in replacing or repairing a part. Assuming this is the case, I surmised that Reliable Subaru service department was ripping me off. For the love of God - if you have any options whatsoever, do not take your car to Reliable Subaru service center unless you don't care how much you have to pay. 0 stars. read more

Tried to buy a car here, but had nothing but problems. They refused to be transparent in their finance dealings and have horrible customer service. It shouldn't take 5 days and multiple phone calls for someone to return an email. (Which was never returned) Sales Manager was rude and refused to discuss anything without running my credit. (Which is over 800) Other Subaru dealerships had no issue answering finance or payment questions without running credit. Apparently Reliable has something to hide, now I understand the 2-Star rating. Mike and Bryon did their best, but I guess salaries are so good, the Sales Managers don't need your business. Buyer beware! read more

Disappointing customer service. I've got my new car here for oil change and windshield replacement. I knew it would be several hours. They no longer have loaner cars due to low inventory. Ok, understood. But they've done away with complimentary Uber service. So unless I choose to spend $20 (one way) to get to the mall to waste time, I'm stuck here. They have no shuttle van. If it's going to be more than 2 hours, it would be nice to have a ride. I've spent a small fortune at this place and have been a loyal customer. I'm my opinion, this is a bad policy and I plan to go elsewhere for my next car service. read more

I bought my 2020 Outback from Olathe Subaru in Olathe KS and moved to Arkansas last September. About a month ago my check engine light came on and I called Reliable Subaru and they told me to take it to O'Reilly Auto Parts and have them todo a diagnostic on it which I did but nothing showed up. I scheduled an appointment at Reliable Subaru for June 18. Thankfully I called 2 days prior to confirm my appointment and was told they only do oil changes on Saturdays. Thank Goodness I called because if I would have driven 2 hours and was told there were no mechanics there I would not have been a happy person to deal with. I ended up taking it yesterday and based on the reviews I was Skeptical but I did get right in, everyone was pleasant and the issue was found, fixed under warranty and my oil change was done and I had a great experience. Only 4 stars due to their website for Service NEEDS TO STATE OIL CHANGES ONLY ON SATURDAY. A service member admitted the same thing. It needs to be clear read more

I see why the reviews are bad. I wish I could change that, but can't. :(. I had an appointment at 12:40. I arrived on time. Was greeted by someone who took my updated address and clarified why I was here - MO state inspection. Said it would take about 40 minutes. 40 minutes later the service person comes in and asks why I am here. Really? Nothing had been done. When I indicate my irritation that service person does not offer any apologies or offer to make it right. Instead he acts like I should be perfectly happy with them not knowing and not being timely. Why are appointments made if you don't keep them? Very poor service person. I do not recommend at all. On a positive note - the waiting area is quite nice. Addendum - done at 2:10 for a 12:40 appt for an inspection. They didn't charge me. That was a small consolation for my time. Still no apologies. read more

Goodness..where to begin..? I was contacted almost immediately after sending an "I'm interested in this vehicle!" email. That was probably the highlight of my experience. The sales rep I was working with was sweet but clearly very green. When I spoke to her on the phone, I told her exactly what I was looking for and what kind of cars I wanted to test drive. I get there and she had nothing prepared. No information sheet, no car keys in hand, she didn't even have an idea as to what I was looking for. She knew next to nothing about any of the vehicles, including where they were. The whole dealership was so unorganized in every department that we ventured through. We spent most of our time just trying to find the vehicles that I was asking about. She was not forthcoming with any information; we had to pry it out of her. The first thing I told her was that my price range was completely dependent upon what they valued my trade in as but I told her my limit on my loan amount. I was very clear that the first thing I wanted to do was get my car appraised. She agreed and they got started. While they were going through the works, we decided to test drive a couple cars. We came back and went into the messy glass cubicles and her manager came in to greet us. The first thing this man does is LEAN OVER ME to shake hands with my boyfriend. He then straightens up, looks at me with an outstretched hand and says "and you are..?" I promptly corrected his gesture by stating my name and informing him that I am the one buying the vehicle today, not my boyfriend. Come to find out, they appraised my car and tried to get me to sign on a credit check without running the car fax on my car. I even told them in the very beginning that my car had been in a bad accident and was repaired through the dealership. I left that day without a Subaru and I'm happier for it. I bought another Subaru, at a different dealership where I felt respected and my wants and needs were clearly heard and understood. There were so many more events that took place that further hurt the reputation of this dealership in my eyes but for the sake of my energy, I will stop there. I found their website online, and tried to order a mirror for my car. 12 days later, no mirror. I figured it would be best to call them, so I called the phone number on the website, which was an 800 number. Who would have thought the 800 number on their website would send me to company trying to sell me dish tv service! All laughing aside, I finally got through to "Reliable" Subaru. In speaking with their parts department, they informed me that their website did not communicate with the parts department, and this happens frequently. They said they would be able to fulfill my original order, but it would be over a week (now two weeks past my original order) before it arrived. I asked if they would be willing to expedite shipping based on the multiple issues I encountered. After a brief hold, I was informed they would not do this, and I should probably cancel my order., Not a problem! I would not do any business here what so ever. read more

The latest chapter from the UN-Reliable Service department: I met my 85 year old Mom at lunchtime yesterday and found that her tire light was on. Checking, I found the right front tire was at 22 lb while the others were at 32. Clearly a nail or something going on with the right front tire. We called Subaru who told us to bring it right over. (Original tires, car only 15,000 miles, bought the car from them.) After 25 minutes we were told that it was fixed! The tires were all just a pound low and so they aired them up and made the light go out. Had they actually checked for a nail? No. Well, the bays were all full and there wasn't anyone that could actually check the tire for a nail unless we wanted to wait for at least an hour, and anyway the tire light would come back on if it was, indeed, a nail. So my 85 year old mother drove away with a nail still in her tire. Thanks, guys. Next time we'll find someone who cares. read more

Let me tell you why customer service means nothing to this dealership. If I could rate this place a zero, I would. My husband and I just recently moved to the area and contacted Reliable Subaru to purchase a new vehicle. Because we live about 45 minutes away from Springfield, and were going to be traveling with our 5 month old baby, we made several phone calls to set up the deal prior to arriving. We filled out apps, gave all information on our trade, etc. since it was IMPERATIVE that we not spend too long at the dealership. I mean, for all intents and purposes, we were basically stating that we are coming in to trade, sign and drive. Couldn't be easier than that, right? I'll save you all the awful headaches we had but the short story is that our salesperson was like Jekyl and Hyde. Over the phone, he was insanely nice and assured us that our payments would be exactly where we needed to be. He "understood" we had a baby and wanted to make this as seamless as possible. We have bought so many cars that you'd think we would've known better and not have been so quick to believe him. We get there and no one greets us, no one offers us even a bottled water, nothing. This dealership was awful. No service whatsoever. We were trading in a BEAUTIFUL barely driven Lexus ES 350. At Lexus in Florida, you get a manicure while you wait... Again, shaking my head that these two aren't even comparable. I know that. Apples and oranges, clearly. We spent nearly 4 hours going through more vehicles, since now that our salesperson got us in the door, the one we wanted and discussed "wasn't available". Could've saved us a trip with a phone call, but deceivingly chose to lure us there with hopes of a smooth process. Once we selected a similar, even more base model, car, he goes back to get our financing info and NOW says he can't get us anywhere near what we needed to pay. No other conversation. No apologies. Just a blank stare after he said this. My husband very kindly says that he wished he wouldn't have wasted our time, hoping he might have even a slight of sympathy for our young child (he didn't), and says we are leaving. Not in that "we are just pretending to leave to see if you'll drop prices-leaving"-- actually walking out the door because we can't believe we spent half a day in this place for nothing. He says "Man, I gave up a sale, too", implying that we had somehow caused him to lose it. Then, just shakes our hands and says bye. That's it. Not even a small apology for our wasted day. So, I stop at a desk to get the manager's card. The girl there offers her own cell phone number and asks me to text her on the ride home since I told her we were in a hurry to get the baby home. I communicated with her through text for about 5 minutes, she promised to have a manager contact us, and just as suspected, we never heard anything again. From anyone. This place was a disaster and based on a previous review, I'm in complete agreement that customer service is not a priority for them. Stay away. read more

I recently had an issue with my Subaru Outback overheating. My car had to be towed to here for service. Zack at the front desk and the service crew did a fantastic job fixing my car and working with my warranty service. The total bill was much less than I expected and the car runs fantastic now. Everyone there are very nice and courteous. I had my white husky and wife with me when the car broke down and all of the staff made us feel comfortable during a stressful situation, since we live an hour away, and needed a rental car. Me and my wife work at the hospitals we get off late, so the only time we have to look at cars is after they're closed, which we've done multiple times before until today. Only this time chased away because we parked accross the street, to be harassed by the security guard pulling in our brand new Jeep, still in hospital scrubs to be told were suspicious for not parking in the lot. At first my experience at Reliable was going rather smoothly. I had been trying to find a vehicle to replace my Jeep Wrangler and well...that's a bit difficult to do when this vehicle is already what I want/need. I'm trying to cutdown on costs, that's it. Darrin was extremely helpful and although I could tell he was really pushing hard for a sale, he was very genuine and helpful. At the end, when negotiations were happening, some old man walks in. This old grumpy manager told me that my jeep wouldn't sell for this particular price even at an auction, and that he thought I was "a serious customer. Test driving vehicle and showing them to your wife, you're just wasting our time". After raising his voice and being rude and insulting he says he's gonna print me something off. Like if I wanted to continue working with him. Reliable will not give you the best deal and they will only try these terribly insulting bully tactics. Don't waste your time at this place. read more

They overcharged us $500 for our new Subaru, they admit it, and won't give it back. We placed an order for a new car in early June. At that time they asked for a credit card authorization for a $500 deposit, if they needed it, to secure the car for us. We agreed. The next day they charged our credit card $500. The car arrived in late July and we paid for it with a check. When we got home I noticed that the $500 deposit wasn't listed/credited on the invoice, so we mistakenly wrote a check for $500 too much. We immediately called the salesman, who originally said that we must be mistaken; that they don't actually charge our card. We provided details of the transaction and he called back to say they mistakenly DID charge our card, but that they couldn't just credit our card. They would have to send us a check, and said it would be in the mailed envelope that would have our title. That took 2 weeks to arrive, but there was no check! That was a Friday afternoon. Another call to the salesman who said they couldn't do anything about it because all the finance people had left for the day. They would mail out a check on Monday. Saturday morning I wrote an email to the salesman expressing my displeasure (again), and asking if they were doing this on purpose. Were they assuming we wouldn't have caught the $500 overcharge? Were they assuming we wouldn't remember they were to send us a check? Are they assuming we won't be looking in the mail for a check next week? I never received a response to the email, but my wife got a call that day from a manager apologizing (for the first time) for mistakenly charging our card. He said he would personally send out a FedEx'ed check that day (Saturday), and that if we wanted to drive to the dealership (2 hours round trip) he'd give us some "swag" (I assume that means a keychain). It's now the Wednesday after that weekend. We've received nothing from Reliable Subaru. I have received mail from a company that sent there's on Monday, so I know I should have received something by now. And as for the FedEx promise? Another empty one. Our next course of action will be to take them to small claims court. Let's see if they ignore that. read more

This is specifically for the service department. Service managers make excuses and blame other departments when requested work does not get done. For the hourly labor rates they charge I expect good communication and good service. For an authorized Subaru shop I expect exemplary service. This service department is definitely not a Subaru standard. Most recently, when my car was in for service they overlooked filling windshield washer fluid and did not reset the computerized maintenance reminders. read more
