After looking over my 2009 Ford Edge, w/155,000 miles, I was told my driver side, front and back swaybar links were broken. I was quoted for front & rear swaybar links to be replaced. I was told that they would use good parts, not underpar. Quote $978.82. I took my car from the shop as I did not trust this quote, even as a woman, I know when something sounds high. Especially when I was told it could be done and ready by end of day. I was given a quote from a recommended shop, over the phone, without giving the quote from Aasby's, of parts and labor of "$360.00". I had my car back within a two hour period. I was told by the service mgr. of BBT, that he has many stories of Springfield auto shops charging prices that the dealerships charge and more. I will never go back to Aasby's even though 18 years ago I did go there. They lost my trust. read more

Mon son-in-law was turned away with his 1995 Oldsmobile Cutlass when the Aasby man said he would not touch it because he assumed too much "DIY" was done to it. Too much Do-It-Yourself. Do oil changes count? Changing filters? Just what exactly are we ALLOWED to do at home that you are okay with? The only thing that we will "do oursel" is to never darken their door again. read more

I called Aasby Auto as the air conditioning on my car wasn't working. Sarah was awesome and got me in the next morning. Even better they were able to fix it in 2 hours and the bill was less than the estimate. Works great now. Kyle and the whole staff is so friendly, it instills confidence. I will definitely come back to Aasby Automotive. For several reasons: their prices, clean waiting room, but most importantly their customer service. As a woman I am always on alert for being scammed or taken advantage of when getting my car worked on. I went in specifically to get my oil changed and brake pads replaced. I did my research before coming to Aasby so I knew what the going rate was for these parts and services, and they gave me rates that came in less than the comparable shops. After looking at my car they were straight forward with me and didn't try to "upsell" or talk me into more auto work. I felt confident that they did a great job and 100% know they didn't try and take advantage of me because I was a woman. I was also very pleased with the friendly staff. The owner thanked me for coming in and the service managers were very approachable. On my first visit they treated me like I was a loyal customer that has been there a 100 times. They will exceed your expectations in customer service. The waiting area is very clean which I appreciate after being to many shops that are greasy and unpleasant. My daughter lives in Springfield and of course has an old Honda with a billion miles on it. My daughter works full-time and goes to nursing school. Anytime there is something going on with her car she goes to Aasby. She doesn't know a thing about vehicles, but as a father I can tell you that Aasby's absolutely without a doubt has taken care of her car and have gone above and beyond what we call customer service today. I highly recommend them. They treated me and my vehicle with professional excellence. My 2001 Taurus experienced some transmission problems. Being a pretty good mechanic in my younger years, I had a good idea what the main problem was. Because Aasby does not perform transmission rebuilds they sent the car to a shop that did the work. The results were exactly as I suspected. There was going to be a delay in the transmission repair because of an issue at the transmission shop (beyond their control). Sarah notified me immediately of the situation. I asked if she could also schedule in a spark plug and wire replacement (not an easy task on this particular engine), she made that happen, as well as an oil change that I asked for. They even washed and detailed the car before I picked it up. I'm very impressed! I will most assuredly return for needed services on my other vehicles. read more

I went to this location to have my annual car inspection.They would not pass my inspection because they said I "have a loose bolt" He said they could fix it right there in the shop and would "only charge around $30 for getting his arm up there just right to tighten it." I think this technician thought I was stupid because I am a woman. I went right down the road to a local trusted service center and had my inspection passed with no hitch. I told the technician at the other location what had happened and he advised they were trying to scam me. DO NOT TAKE YOUR BUSINESS TO THIS LOCATION!! If I could rate a zero I would read more

I can sum up this entire company with a single sentence: A money grubbing, poorly ran, ignorantly priced one stop scam shop. First off, the company will overcharge you a ridiculous amount for ANY service or product. If you decide to use them, I recommend you do this: After they tell you the problem (which, by the way, you're gonna pay around $100 for them to just look at it) go ahead and call up any other auto shop in Springfield. Ask them for a quota. They will most likely charge HALF of what "Aasby Automotive" charges. Furthermore, because I am a woman, this company seemed to think I knew absolutely nothing about my car or what a typical repair should cost. So they will MOST DEFINITELY take advantage of whatever situation you're in. I wouldn't be surprised if they were the type of company to make things up about your vehicle's status just so they can charge you more. Overall, I highly recommend you go to literally any auto service besides this one. You can most definitely find better. read more
