This was my first time using a moving company and I had heard horror story after horror story but after reading the Yelp reviews decided to go with this company (thanks Yelpers~!) They were on time, worked quickly and efficiently and were super courteous. I was really surprised by how professional the two gentlemen were since they looked like college kids. They barely let me lift a finger. IF using the 10% cash discount, I would suggest taking out more cash than you anticipate (don't forget tip!). As well, make sure to box up everything since they are wary about things moving around in the truck. They will however wrap ALL of your artwork and mirrors and shrink wrap anything that needs it. I've used them twice now and would recommend them to friends and family. Our home was no easy job. Tri level 6 bedroom home with stairs at every entrance and these guys handled everything like pros. The crew was polite, clean, and professional. I never heard cussing or horseplay. They move quick and I never felt like they were milking the clock. In fact they were unloading the trucks so fast I hardly had time to direct placement of furniture. We did have a dresser drawer damaged and although our contract stated their not responsible for damage to press board, Daniel did good by honoring our claim anyways. We found Reliable Delivery on Angies List where their ratings are off the charts. They efficiently gave us a quote, and set up a move date for us. We had gradually moved our non-furniture stuff to our new house in Encinitas over a two week period, so the movers just needed to get our big, heavy stuff from our downtown apartment to our new house. The movers showed up promptly at the 8 AM start time and got to work. Movers were timely, fast and successfully moved all of our furniture to our new house. The movers finished an hour faster than their original estimate. I was surprised at how efficient the entire operation was, and couldn't have asked for a better experience. In a sea of stressful things that go into buying a house, it was nice that Reliable Delivery was able to keep our moving experience as stress free and easy as possible. Great pricing, and would recommend highly to anyone moving around the San Diego area. It should be noted that you should try and pay with cash. There is a hefty credit card surcharge, and using a credit card makes your job ineligible for any of the offered discounts you can find. read more

I used RD last week for my move across town. The movers were right on time, had a fantastic attitude, and moved my stuff quickly - in the rain, no less! All of my stuff arrived at my new place in-tact and undamaged. They wouldn't move electronics that weren't in boxes, per company policy. Unfortunately for me, I didn't have any boxes big enough for the stuff, so that meant I had to schlep it myself. Overall though, I was very happy with the service. They were great! This is untill it came time to pay... I found RD on Yelp, and part of the draw, in addition to the great reviews, was the 10% discount. They offer a 10% Yelp discount, 15% Active Duty Military discount, and a 10% cash discount, none of which could be combined - which is reasonable. But what I didn't know was that the Yelp discount IS the cash discount. So when I didn't have cash (I wanted to charge on my Amazon card and get those points!), I was denied the discount. Nowhere in my contract did it say the Yelp and cash discount were the same. I even called the owner on the spot, who was not in any way sympathetic or apologetic. Basically, he made me feel like it was my fault for not knowing the cash and Yelp discount were the same since, "none of his other customers was confused by the language." I was shocked! To add insult to injury, there is a credit card processing fee! Had I known that, I would have happily paid cash. If you decide to go with Reliable Delivery, make sure you understand exactly what you're getting in to, and use cash. I will not be using them again, nor will I be reccommending them to anyone else. While the movers themselves were awesome, the owner's lack of clear communication and poor customer service ruined the experience for me. read more

What a great team! After sending an inquiry, Daniel was quick to respond with a quote and was eager to help. We quickly arranged the move, and it was no issue that I gave only 4 days heads up (yes, I am one of 'those' procrastinators). On the day of my move, they called to give me a more accurate time, which really helped with planning, and were there right when they said they would and started right away! I was worried with being on the third floor with no elevator, but they handled it perfect, no harm done to any of the furniture. Once we arrived at my new home, we did a walk thru to show where everything goes, and they got to work! They got everything done in great timing and kept to business the whole time! I was extremely worried at first with moving. It's always more stressful to find good movers at a good price, especially on more difficult moves from multiple level apartments or condos. I also have large furniture (large sectional couch, 5x5' dining table with bar stool chairs, large glass entertainment system, 48" TV with no box, etc) but you would never of guessed that it was an issue, they wrapped everything up and made sure it was packed correctly to cause no damage. But Reliable Delivery came through with shining colors! Josh, Chris and Nate were professional, fast, and made the move easy. I have never actually been upset enough to write a bad review before. I own my own business and I know how even with the best intentions, sometimes things go awry. But my experience with Reliable Movers - its been bad from the first moment, and since I used Yelp reviews to choose them, I feel obligated to let people know how it went. I spoke to the owner, Dan, on the phone in the afternoon on Friday and explained that we were in a bind and really needed to move our business from a downtown location to a new spot in Point Loma - and that it had to be done this weekend. I know that's super short notice and so I appreciated that he was able to promise me a crew on Saturday. I asked him if he wanted to look at our shop to estimate properly, but he said to send a form (very simple, just asked how many square feet and what general type of stuff). We packed and boxed everything we could and expected it to be a fairly simple job. He quoted me $130 over the phone for 3 guys and 1 truck. Then he sent me an email saying it would actually be $150, though I had actually expected it to be cheaper since the yelp ad promised a discount for mentioning yelp. And my big mistake happened right here. He said it was more expensive because they were going to send 2 trucks and 1 more dude. I should have asked: "What size truck?" - but I didn't. I assumed they would send a big box truck. So I said, I think 1 truck could do it (thinking 24 foot). So a wee little 16 foot truck shows up an hour late. And at 6pm, the head guy tells me they're leaving - can they get paid? But the job isn't done! And of course, now Dan is not available. Apparently he is in Miami. So my move is half complete and the movers are gone. And the quote of $1000 for the whole job ended up costing me $875 for half the job, instead. Now its Saturday night and too late to hire other movers - most of them don't even work on Sunday unless you arrange it in advance. So I am completely screwed. I guess I'll go rent a U-haul (if they're still open) and move the rest myself, because, like I explained to UNreliable Movers, I have to have this done this weekend so my business is up and operational Monday. These guys are great!!! Chris, Cody, and John showed up at my house right on time, I gave them a quick walkthrough of everything that was going, and they immediately got to work...they had everything (bed, couches, dressers, tables, mirrors, clothes, 20-25 big boxes, etc) wrapped and loaded into the truck in under 45 minutes! They fit everything in the truck like a Tetris game and treated every piece of furniture with care. They even wrapped and carried out my huge heavy dressers full of clothes...I didnt think it was possible to move them without unloading all my clothes first....amazing. When we got to my new apartment, they unloaded everything quickly and put everything where I wanted it, including dealing with my OCD and re-arranging my bedroom furniture 3 or 4 times until I was happy with it! I will seriously never move without movers ever again...so worth the $$ Make sure you: -have everything packed and ready to go before they show up because they are super fast -label boxes so that they know what room to put them in -request wardrobe boxes (they're free, and so freaking amazing for transporting your entire closet without having to take anything off hangers) -have CASH to pay them so you get the 10% discount So great...thanks again guys! Thomas and Javier did a great job moving my small apartment. You always worry about letting complete strangers into your home to have access to all your belongings, but they were professional, friendly, and hard workers. They took a lot of care not to damage my apartment or my cheap furniture. They didn't just dump everything in the living room and leave, they took care to put everything in approximately the right place. I didn't hire them to help me pack or unpack, so I can't comment on that. The only thing that was annoying is that I thought I was going to get their advertised $360 flat rate, but it ended up being $540 because it took longer than 3 hours and they had to travel more than 15 minutes. I have a 500 sqft 1 bedroom with not much furniture, everything packed up neatly in boxes, and I was only moving 30 minutes away. So be aware, you are not likely going to get the $360 rate they offer unless you have a studio, and you are moving to another apartment in the same building or just down the street. I'm not super upset about it, since the service was very good. read more

We have used Reliable Delivery many times for moving family members, but this past weekend was the first time we've used them for our own home. We had an incredible amount of crap to move... 4 bedrooms and tons of artwork. The guys showed up on time (even though they had to drive from SD to LA early on a Saturday morning), and when they jumped out of their trucks they were ready to go. The guys spent almost 7 hours working non-stop to empty our house. Everyone had a great attitude, they were super-friendly, and they handled our belongings as if they were their own. We were insanely stressed about the move, but once the Reliable Delivery guys rolled up their sleeves and dug in, we realized we were in more than capable hands. I was scheduled to move in to a new place on a Tuesday. The day before my move date the landlord says that the place fell through. :( I was incredibly frustrated because I had movers ready to go and had already put down a deposit. I called Reliable Delivery and they were incredibly kind. They gave me another week. I was able to find a place within two days and they rescheduled my delivery without me losing my deposit. Basically a double move again..... showed up to move us out of our rental house & then went to our storage unit to load everything from there and brought all to our our new home. They quoted me the most reasonable price of anyone. Additionally, I have coveted furniture that I love and did not want my new husband to hurt himself or the furniture. I was very happy with the service. In the past I used a well-known major international service that my employer paid for when I moved from Canada, and these guys were much better. Josh was helpful in answering my questions ahead of time. I appreciated that they were flexible to complete however much packing I had left to do the morning of my move (it was only a one-bedroom apartment move). My movers were Alan and Nick. They arrived on time, well organized and professional. I did end up packing up almost everything myself ahead of time, which was fortunate because they were quite slow with packing what little there was left. They protected my furniture really well, and were careful with boxes I had labelled as fragile. They also disassembled and reassembled any furniture that required it. The high reviews here for Reliable Delivery led me to choose them for a recent move--things went very well. Whenever I need movers I always assume I'm going to wind up with ex-cons at the place smashing my things around (it has actually happened with other companies). Wasn't the case with Reliable Delivery. These guys seemed professional and trustworthy. They were right on time and finished the job in an hour less than they originally estimated. We had to move a 3-bedroom 1100sq ft house, make a stop at a nearby second address for a few more things, and move it all 14 miles away and they got it done in 5 1/2 hours. We don't have a massive amount of stuff--but this was pretty efficient work. Price-wise they were fair--I paid about $650 for the whole move. I didn't shop this move that thoroughly but we had stairs at a new address and they were careful with everything--so I didn't see any reason to have an issue with the price I was charged. Would definitely use them again. The only negative I had with them was that I had some trouble reaching them. I booked them originally via email--but later had some additional questions--so I sent a second email. This didn't get replied to within a reasonable period of time, so I called to see if I could get answers that way. Calls pretty much seem to send you 24/7 to voicemail. I had to wait a considerable amount of time for a callback--but they did eventually get back to me. Fortunately nothing I was inquiring about was urgent and they showed up dead on time on move-day (which is really the key thing) so I didn't hold it against them. read more

The positives- 1. They are reliably there. They call ahead and let you know when they will arrive. 2. They have manpower and big trucks. Good for large jobs. 3. They work hard. Never slacking off. 4. They take care of the stuff to make sure nothing is damaged. Only negative was that they ended up not getting done so they scheduled another day. So that additional day they showed up with a smaller truck and only two guys and still did not get done. So I had to hire someone to finish the job and move three pick up truck loads. And hardly anything was assembled in the new house. Parts of the bed were still at the old house so we could not get the bed installed. We had to figure out hardware and stuff...which is easier when you are the one that took it apart... but we were not. I get that they ran out of time. Still, that part sucked after paying $2500 for the two days and then having to hire someone else to finish. And each day means more fees for stairs and trucks and fuel. Today was our second time using Reliable Delivery for our move and we will definitely use them for all of our future moves because they are literally the best! We just bought our first home so today's move was a big deal for us. Our three movers arrived a few minutes early which is always great and they finished almost exactly in the time that was quoted. They took such good care of the floor, walls, and of course our furniture. They also make sure everything is placed where you need it so you're not moving after you've moved. They even took the time to reassemble our bed and a few other peices of furniture. HORRIBLE!! Do not use this moving company. Their workers don't know how to pick up mattresses properly. I was in my master bedroom when 1 mover came in to move the mattress. He grabbed the mattress on the side and jerked it up so fast and only by himself. No other worker was in the room to help him move a KING size mattress. Once he jerked the mattress up it immediately crashed to the ground creating a very loud boom. The other worker rushed over from the other bedroom and proceeded to then help him move the mattress. It was then at that time I noticed the large 4ft hole/rip exposing the mattress inside. The worker said he would see what he could do to fix it, but clearly there was nothing he could. I contacted Josh over and over explaining on the damage he tells me he can't process a claim because his worker didn't do anything wrong. But I personally watched him yank the mattress up by himself and rip at the same time due to the in-proper pickup of the mattress. So Josh finally says the owner approved to process a claim. So a month later I get a check for 70$ for the damage to my mattress. What does 70$ buy you. Be aware if you use them for moving services. I DONT WANT ANYONE ELSE TO HAVE TO DEAL WITH ALL THE PROBLEMS I DID WHEN I HIRED RELIABLE DELIVERY TO MOVE MY FURNITURE. read more

They completed a move in roughly 2 hours from downtown to Lemon Grove which was pretty incredible. Everything was in working order and no scratches or dents. Found Reliable Delivery on yelp when I was investigating moving companies in the San Diego area. The movers were great! I had 2 movers on a Sunday morning, 9AM. They were very efficient and fast. They were also careful with all furniture...no damage throughout the move. My only complaint was the truck to move our stuff was not big enough and could not fit all of our stuff. All of our big furniture was moved, although I had to go back with my pickup later to finish the move myself. That was the company's fault, not the movers. Would definitely recommend this company. Lies. Workers did not ask me to do a walk through of the apartment before they left. Most importantly, I could care less how long it took the workers to move everything - as long as they moved everything, I would pay for every minute that they worked. If I was to count time to the minute, your company owes me three minutes worth of money because you did not stay till 5pm. Yes, I had bags. Yes, I had open and unsealed boxes. So what if it would take longer? I would pay for it as long as it got the work done. Daniel, I don't think you understand why I wrote a bad review - don't try to twist the truth, or use bad reviews to further advertise your company by saying "one hour minimum M-F so customers who are prepared can save money on moving day!". It is because I paid someone to help me move, but I ended up having to move things myself. How do you explain your workers rushing out of my apartment when they knew they had boxes sitting in my car? This is not about packing properly, it is about how I was more than willing to pay for someone to help me move so I don't have to lift a finger. It is about your company's workers NOT COMPLETING THEIR JOB. The move was not complete and your workers left. It is not about saving money, it is about getting the job DONE. Your workers did not do that. Please reflect upon that and stop trying to pull water out of a dry well. read more

Reliable Delivery was fantastic! They were very quick and made sure that everything was unscratched and safe. They moved very quickly, even though we had a lot of extra things they were happy to accommodate and moved it inside their truck. The reason why I would give them a 4 was because of the pricing. I had thought I would be paying around 200-300 but the final amount was around 400-500. I contacted Josh at Reliable Delivery to set up a move and was pleasantly surprised how smooth the process was - I provided him with a list of items to move and also requested a refrigerator swap between the old and new home, which Josh accommodated. On moving day the refrigerator crew arrived 20 minutes early and removed the refrigerator from the new home and transported it to the old home. The main crew arrived right on time and went to work immediately. They wrapped all items in plastic and were careful not to damage the items or the walls during the move. They also moved a few items that I had neglected to put on my initial inventory. Arriving at the new home, they had to haul all items up a very steep and long driveway. This crew of Gary (team leader), Colin, Thomas, Kevin and Davin worked non-stop until the job was done. All of the team was personable and a pleasure to work with. Things went well, I was still moving all of my non-boxed items like clothes and personal things, they did everything else. They took my bed down, and put it back up in my new place-it took about 2.5 hours for them to move me from a floor apt, to a 2nd story apt. just up the street. At the recommendation of my girlfriend, we planned to use reliable delivery to move her out of her apartment and into a new one. We were on vacation at the time and getting in touch with them was an issue. Phone calls, text messages, and email went for five days without a response. We were trying to get details on our move which needed to be worked out. We were hesitant to send a contract with a credit card number on it before agreeing to a move time. They finally responded after we emailed in the form with cc number. They couldn't fit us in during the times we requested and everything was coordinated via email/text message vice the phone. This added delay to our known move timeline. Finally, I received a call from Daniel at 10 AM saying he could move the next morning at 8 AM. We had nothing packed but basically they were booked solid. But, because we were in a pinch we agreed. We spent the whole night packing and boxing everything and finally finished up around 11 PM which wasn't too bad. The actual move went super smooth and was professional, however I'm only giving them three stars due to the difficulty we encountered trying to establish communications. I recommend that Daniel hire a receptionist or coordinator to assist in answering the phone and scheduling appointments. read more
