Sadly it will be my last time here. They have new owners and most services have gone $10 more. If the message was like the previous staff I would of been happy with but they only have two older ladies working there. They have more rooms and made some minor changes to the place. They ask for payment in advance, which understand with mediocre service. My $50 back massage consisted of 45 minutes over a rough blanket that felt like rug burns. Massage was "meh"/ average to below average. First concern was privacy. Second, massage therapists were periodically chatting with each other in a different language. It was distracting. They also just lift your back/shirt to massage the back. It was uncomfortable. Any massage that uses any techniques that involves the nails is a big-no. Mixture of the strongest and worst massage I have ever gotten. Went in and requested a combo C massage. They started me off in the chair, I noticed immediately that the masseuse was a lot stronger than the typical, which I was happy about. They moved me to a couch/chair, and the water for my feet was cold. I noted that my masseuse seemed to be in a rush. While the strength level was appreciated, it seemed more like he didn't know his own strength and was distracted, pausing at multiple points to greet new arrivals. There were points when my skin felt like it was being ripped and even torn from how carelessly quickly he was working. When he began work on my back with his elbow, I had to stop him and tell him he was hurting me. He laughed. Then, seeing I was serious, he asked if I needed it softer. I told him that softer was fine, so long as he focused while he worked so close to my spine. It legitimately felt like he was on my spine! The rest of the massage was blah. No strength anymore. Just going through the paces ASAP. Afterwards, I told the masseuse that while he may be strong, he really needs to be deliberate about the massage and put his strength where it needs to go, not just hurry and hurt a client. He just said sorry... Turns out this guy was the owner... I let him know that if I had any pain in the next week or two I would be contacting him. read more

I decided to start leaving reviews for massage places since my boyfriend and I have been frequenting them every weekend. This place by far is probably the worst one I've been to. We did choose massage A where we like more of our feet to get worked on. My masseuse wasn't that great, he would yawn pretty frequently every few minutes and his technique wasn't good. He would randomly stop like he was taking breaks and leave his hand on whatever body part. I didn't enjoy it at all but my boyfriend did fall asleep during his massage and I did hear him snore, so hey it may have just been my lucky day. Zero stars review.DO NOT COME HERE to the Relax foot Spa in Downey on Telegraph road. It is under new ownership/management by Angela. Employees are demanding 30% tip from the total cost of massage from its customers. The business does not have anything posted stating this is a requirement. Customer pays for massage first cash or card, and nothing is mentioned regarding a tip charge of 30% after massage. When the customer is done, there is an expectation to pay 30% tip, and if not paid, the massage staff member named Peer starts yelling very aggressively that she wants a 30% tip cash for giving a massage. Very unprofessional, aggressive behavior, and demeanor. If that is the 30 % tip is the expectation, it must be clearly posted and mentioned at the time of service. In other massage locations, they have a suggested tip fee for services listed and posted. At the time of payment, other massage locations also ask if you want to charge the tip on your card or pay for the tip up front via venmo or zelle since many customers do not carry cash due to safety reasons. Yelling, screaming, aggressive demeanor, and tone are what you will get as a customer if you do not have cash to pay 30% tip at this location. I have reported this business to the Better Business Bureau to help amend the poor practices. An elderly lady was the poor customer affected in this incident. Go somewhere else. read more

I was forced to take my 2 year old at the last minute, but didn't think it would be a big deal!! WRONG!! My son was misbehaving, (which isn't their fault, of course) but I can tell that One tall guy was getting irritated!! Really great place for foot massage. The store is hidden and hard to see when you drive on Telegraph Road. I didn't know about this place until I searched on yelp. Food massage cost 25 dollars but if you pay in cash, it only cost 20 dollars. Person who did massage for me really put me into sleep. Made me and my muscles so comfortable that I put everything behind me and fall a sleep. Atmosphere is not fancy or modern but great place to get fantastic massage. I don't know how I feel about this place. I went in last week for a massage because I wanted to loosen up before taking my state exam the following day. The language barrier was a bit awkward. I was trying to ask if I needed an appointment and three employees just stared at me. Finally, I just pointed to "A" on their menu, and the lady told me "B" would be better. I thought, "Why not?" and went ahead with "B." Honestly, the massage felt really good in the moment. She used a lot of pressure on my back, and I felt myself dozing off a few times. That warrants my three stars. The issues I have with this place happened after my massage. When I went to pay the employee, I handed her two $20's for a $30 massage. I did plan on giving her the full $40, but she expected it, which is what bothered me. With the two bills in her hand she said, "It's okay?" and I just said, "Yeah." When I got to my car, though, I looked at the time and noticed that from the time I stepped foot in the parlor to the time I got back to my car, it had only been an hour. I paid $10 more for "B," which should have provided me with a 1-hour 10-minute massage. I think I actually got a 55-minute massage! I felt ripped off, but I just decided to let it go. To top it off, I didn't feel much different in my problem areas than I did before I had gone in. :/ I feel like I should try this place out again, but I'm afraid of losing money. read more

For one of the foot spa-type places, I thought this was pretty great. I've been to about three of these places (this one, one in SGV and one in Hollywood) and this one was the second best. The location is in a strip mall and it's not the quietest I've ever experienced, but that's not quite their fault. I went without an appointment and someone saw me right away. It's the typical communal layout with the recliners that turn into lay-flat beds. I went for the $20 massage---you do end up getting a good amount of time on your shoulders, neck, and back. I'm pretty glad I decided not to upgrade to a more expensive massage. I got a guy whose name I can't remember and the only thing that was out of the ordinary was when he unhooked my bra strap as I lay face-down, but he did make sure to ask me first and of course it was just to give a better back massage. I made sure to leave at least a $10 tip. For $30, I walked out of there insanely relaxed and with that weird massage endorphin feeling, so it was well worth it for me especially since it's just a stone throw's from my house. read more

You haven't relaxed until you've have a lady walk on your back like she means it, or have the owner find all the little places that need some serious work. I'd say this is actually 4 1/2 stars, because you really can't beat the one hour foot soak/massage plus shoulder/neck/head/back massage for $20 + tip. (And every few weeks there is a $5 off coupon in the local paper.) Each person working here has their own unique routine, and even the women have their own special techniques that compensate for not being as physically strong - for people who like strong massages, like I do. There are only a few small areas for improvement, such as switching up the background tunes. Some of the instrumental tracks are innocuous enough, but if you're there to catch the portion that goes from Pachelbel's Canon to My Heart Will Go On to a Christmas hymn to some pop song you just can't place - that's a tad bit distracting. Overall, best place of its kind in the area - more professional than Happy Foot, and we have a consistently good experience when we go every couple of weeks. Make an appointment and enjoy! read more

I have been coming here for a couple years now. It is honestly a hit or miss. It's right down the street from my house so that's always a plus. But the last few times I have been here it hasn't been that great. I got a guy several times who I'm pretty sure was falling asleep. He would stop then I would kinda cough or move and he would start massaging again. Not to mention his hands reaked of cigarette smoke. When I have gotten the ladies. Which I started to ask for. They do a better job. Using their knees getting all the kinks out. Lately the men do try to hassle you into getting the 30 dollar massage. I get "a" which is 20 bucks. For a full body massage at 35 bucks, this is as good as it gets. This includes hot stones too! Yay! My first time, I thought it was a torture type of massage. I had to tell the guy, "easy pressure" then he replied "soft?" Yes, soft! But he still steamrolled the knots out of my back with his forearm. The last two times I got the small lady that basically did some yoga poses on my back, but it felt soooooo good! I had a spastic type of knot on my mid back and she took care of me and kneaded it out. I walked out feeling like a rag doll, in a good way. I do like foo foo fancy, but this place does a great job. I don't care if I'm behind a curtain with only my panties on and a thin blanket.
