I called 10 minutes prior arrival. The lady that answer the phone was whispering at the beginning. I asked if they have space for a foot massage for my friends and I. Her response is yes. Tell the receptionist know and she will have a therapist for you. The service is very good. I tried many foot massage places and this place really care about their customers. read more

I have been here many times and have always had great scalp massages that helped relieve my chronic headaches. The last person who did it was excellent, and my headache completely went away. This time, however, a male therapist performed the massage, and he was extremely aggressive. I repeatedly told him that the pressure was too much. He would ease up briefly, then go right back to using excessive force. While my headache did go away, I lost a significant amount of hair during and after the massage. It has now been a week, and I am still losing hair. My scalp and temples are still sore from what felt more like a "massacre massage" than a relaxing treatment. He pulled my hair far too hard, and I am losing gobs of hair as a result. Not only that, but my entire body tensed up from the aggressiveness of the massage. I ended up with what feels like a pinched nerve running from my neck down to beneath my shoulder blade. This experience was painful and upsetting. This therapist should not be using this level of force on clients. I am genuinely concerned that someone could end up seriously injured. What should have been a therapeutic experience became a physically painful one that I am still dealing with a week later. read more

The gentleman gives great pressure and i always almost fall asleep. Before I know it, my hour is over and I'm relaxed!

LA Sunshine Foot Spa - Just relaxing - Massage Near Me - Downey, California

This was my first time trying the establishment and did not disappoint. Fiona was very pleasant and courteous. She applied just the right pressure on the sensitive areas of the neck, back and shoulders. I will be returning soon and would recommend to anyone looking to relax. Five stars! read more

Bless the old ladies heart for her massage service but bruhhhhh her hands were as dry as plastic. The massage was so sad. The first half of the service, I was massaged over the blanket (bwahahahaha). Hysterical right. I guess she must have got her energy by the last half hour because than she decided to give me a proper massage without the blanket. She didn't apply oil until the last half hour of the service. Vibe for the service was creepy quiet & then they decided to turn the music on... I may have been the first customer of the day. read more

First time going to this massage parlor and won't be returning. My massage lady was a woman that must have been in her 80s and half asleep. She didn't really massage or focus on any major muscle group. She simply glided her hands across my body, my back and press down but didn't really massage. As she was massaging me, she kept falling asleep and I had to nudge her to wake her up and continue. The stones she put on my back, we're extremely hot, as well as dripping water that smelled like dirty rags. When she got to my feet, she would dig her thumb into my foot and keep it there, but wouldn't actually massage anything. Again, through all this, she was falling asleep. I left their feeling even more stress and tight from the anger and hopelessness. Will never be returning here again. Panda foot is better. read more

Leaving a one star review after receiving a massage should tell you everything.. what was supposed to be a relaxing massage turned into a painful massage.. overall it was a bad experience I left the place worse than how I went in. What was supposed to be a couples massage my wife and I ended up in separate rooms. Then without any warning or atleast asking me if it was okay the beginning of the massage started with my Masseuse walking on my back and massaging me with her feet. I honestly just went with it hoping it would feel good but it didn't. Then masseuse didn't even warn me before putting the extremely hot stones on my back.. Im NEVER going back and to top it off my wife's masseuse chased us demanding a tip which I had given my masseuse $20 for them to split it. Anyways save yourself the time money and pain and DO NOT COME HERE. read more

They're so kind. Efficient. Smells good inside but it's a small place. Nevertheless the price is well worth the price of admission. They worked my sorest spots to perfection. Will be back read more

The location is a hole in the wall. There's a 5.00 fee to use your credit card or ATM card. The elderly lady who was suppose to be massaging my feet kept dozing off. I will never return to this establishment. I have heel spurs and I paid 70.00 for a FOOT MASSAGE. The elderly lady focused on my legs and my feet were secondary. I cut the massage short because I didn't pay 70.00 to watch that lady sleep. With gas over 6.00 a gallon, this was suppose to be a treat however it was everything but. read more

One of the absolute best massages I have ever had thank you..Richard. I tipped a 20 on a 60 dollar massage well deserved for such a great job. I live in Washington but if I was here I would visit this place often. A bit hot inside a fan would be a great addition. read more

Went here last night with my partner horrible service I asked for a massage for one hour during my massage. The lady who was massaging me which I'm pretty sure she was the one in charge was literally doing the same thing over and over for the whole hour, meanwhile getting a massage She answered the phone three times right behind me talking to clients. Her phone rang four times she left the room at least five times save your money. I do not recommend a spot. There's plenty other massage places in Downey read more

First and last time trying this place! Came in for a 60 minute "couples massage" and to begin with, we were in separate rooms so not really a couples massage, and well thought it is what it is at least we are getting massages. My masseuse had no idea what she was doing. For approximately 35-40 minutes all she did was go up and down my back pressing down on my body and holding it for 40 seconds in each spot. I thought it was never going to be over. She then brought out hot stones which were extremely hot literally burning my back, thought it was just mine but my husband later told me his were extremely hot as well. She then proceeds to "massage my feet" which really seemed like she was just moving her thumb across my foot, my 6 year old niece does a better job. She has me face up and proceeds to massage my face right after she just touched my feet with her bare hands! Yes, I know it's my own feet but lady I just stepped on your dirty floor. I couldn't wait for this massage to be over, I almost asked her to cut it short but was holding on to hope that at least a part of it would be nice but it wasn't. Once we are done, my husband hands over $20(2 $10 bills) to his masseuse and asks her to give $10 to mine. Well as we are walking out, my masseuse is yelling "lady lady where's my tip?" Like wth first of all, your co worker has it and second of all, demanding a tip for your mediocre massage?! This place absolutely sucks! Save your money and time. read more

This place was just as I imagined. Little areas sectioned off for massages. I called ahead and I think there was a language barrier. When I arrived about 10 minutes later, a lady greeted me and pantomimed a phone call. I assumed she asked if i had just called. The lady showed me the price list and I made my selection. The prices were more than what I saw online. She took me to a section and she whispered many things to me. I finally had to tell her I did not understand. I have no idea what she was asking. Maybe about the height of the back of the chair. It was very difficult to communicate and luckily I didn't need anything. I just wish that I could under her better. The massage went great. My main complaint is the share space. One customer kept having his phone ring and we would just let it ring. One one occasion he answered the phone and had a full on conversation. Another male customer arrived about half way though my session and didn't know how to use his whisper voice. It would have been nice if these people were encouraged to not take phone calls and to keep their voice to a whisper. Overall, this place is close to home and pretty convenient. I'll likely go back. read more

LA Sunshine Foot Spa - Price list 4-26-21 - Massage Near Me - Downey, California

This place is really close to home and I just recently found it. All this time I've been driving 39 minutes away to a massage spa when there was this one just five minutes away. I got the 30 min full body and 30 min foot massage and it was very relaxing. I didn't have any issues. Not only was the massage great but the massage therapist, Helen, was gentle and smooth to relieve the tension in my neck area and back. She made me feel comfortable, and I'll be returning again. read more

In town for one night; after driving 4+ hours... saw this place close to our hotel thought it would feel good to get the muscles loosened up a bit after the drive...We got in a room as soon as we walked in and while I had a female therapist my wife had a male therapist. - non issues there - The problem is/was that neither one of them actually did a therapeutic massage it was so soft on the body that the body did not get any relief from an hour of this "MASSAGE". Came out of the room and BOTH of us were so DISAPPOINTED at the service!! No I will not recommend this establishment as i do not want other folks to have a negative experience specially when traveling. Thats all, Not sure how they have many positive reviews??.... read more

I called and made an appointment for 8:15 PM for a couples massage: We arrived at 8:10 and waited a while to be taken back. The rooms where partitioned by curtains. One lady came in and started to massage my partner at 8:30. I laid there a couple mins before realizing there was no one coming for me just yet so she flipped me over and I starred at the clock bc I wanted to make sure we both got our 60 mins by the time we got up from the bed. A man came in at approx 8:40 PM and started to massage me. His pressure was good but his movements were rushed as if he was in a hurry. The man told me he was done at 9:30. I asked my partner how it was he replied it was not good. That the lady that started the massage was usually the woman who answers the phone. Within 20 mins after starting he said someone else came in and finished the massage for the remainder of time. Since both massages were not as expected we brought this up to the lady in the front. She said the clocks were different in both the front desk and the room and we misunderstood. She also said that it was one person who did the massage and she was a doctor in a her country. All irrelevant. She refused to accept any fault and we paid full amount and walked out. Would not recommend! read more

DO NOT COME TO THIS PLACE!! THE BED SMELLS AND THEY DEMAND AND FORCE YOU TIP! 2nd time coming here and definitely my last! I did an hour massage- 30mins for back and 30mins for feet! You're required to pay first before the service btw. When I made the payment prior to my massage I didn't have cash so I decided to just include a few dollars tip to the service. The massage was not great. It wasn't a luxury experience and because I had already been there once I already knew to expect a very basic service because I didn't have time to drive further away. (P.S I didn't have any issues my first time but they seem to be GREEDY and ENTITLED now)! So after my massage, I used the restroom and was on my way out since I already paid. I was stopped at the door by this RUDE lady asking me if I tipped and I told her yes! She then started to DEMAND THAT I INCREASE MY TIP! I was appalled!! The entitlement and nerve of this woman! First of all, I have absolutely no problem tipping but this particular experience was NOT GREAT and I tip base on OVERALL SERVICE AND EXPERIENCE!! There's no privacy at all, you can hear and see people walking by, it's hard to get a peaceful relaxing experience! There's phones going off, people talking and it's just not a relaxing environment! The lady that was doing my massage was using so much force that my back started hurting. They give you a rough paper towel while you're face down on the bed which is very uncomfortable! Also, The bed STINKS! Literally SMELLS Like SWEAT and Old People. The bathroom is dirty (dusty and nasty buckets everywhere). I am so disappointed and upset that this lady demanded me to increase my tip when I didn't get great service. I gave her the tip she wanted but I will NEVER come back to this crappy place and I will gladly REPORT them for demanding TIPS! read more

The place looks very dumpy but figured I'd give it a try since it had a decent ratings. Told the lady that I didn't want my feet to be massaged, only body massage. She proceeded to massage my feet. Again I said no, and she kept going. The workers opened my curtain and started talking to my masseuse. It was super annoying. When someone walks in the door, loud chimes go off. I asked the lady about the hot stones and she had no clue what I was saying. Basically I don't think she understood English so there was a language barrier. When i went to pay, the lady who manages the front desk was offended that I gave a $7 dollar tip and a mediocre massage. She told me to pay $10 tip. I said that's a suggested tip and if my money wasn't good enough for them then I won't coming back. She told me good we don't force people to come back. I said ok and told her I'd be Yelp reviewing the place and she was mad! If you go to the restroom area it' looks like they are hoarding stuff. It was pretty gross. read more

I never leave bad reviews specially after coming here many times. They change the rule of having to pay before massage I said ok that's fine. I don't know if they were having a bad day or she was hurting but she was not doing a good job. she was just rubbing me down with her arm instead of hands I said can i get another girl this young girl came and started doing my massage very aggressively then turn me around to just go and get water to soak my feet I thought that was until the end anyways I told her if she could cover my eyes because it was so bright she said let me finish doing what I'm doing so unprofessional I once liked this place but never again lost a costumer. read more

For 30 bucks u get a good deal , and they honestly give it they're all when they are giving u a massage !

My friend recommended this place to me when I was feeling down and had some serious knots. She couldn't remember the name of the masseuse who worked on her, but she assured me that anyone here would be amazing. And she was right! Fiona worked her magic and broke up all my knots with just the right amount of pressure. I'll definitely be back and will be telling all my friends about this place. Plus, their prices are super reasonable and totally worth it for the amazing massage you'll receive. read more

LA Sunshine Foot Spa was so great today. I had so many knots, I could barely lift my arm. I left feeling swore... but in a good way. I was met with a smile at the front. I was able to get my massage right away. They asked about the pressure, checked in multiple times when I was forgetting to breathe, & I left feeling so much better! Thank you! read more

I called to schedule an appointment early morning, once I got there the lady looked towards the back like someone had came in and already took my appointment slot. She completely told me that they are booked and i'm not the person that called for 7pm hour massage. which then told me only for half hour. Definitely, not coming back to this place again. read more

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. Second time here , one thing I don't like is that they ask you to you pay before your massage. I had made an appointment for 3 people. Two of us went in and one waited 15min. They placed us in our rooms and to my luck I got a male. I usually get females but this time I said okay let's give it a shot. He didn't fluently speak English or something because I kept saying less pressure and it didn't change, then I felt him doing the same hand movements on my back for about 5minutes ( like sir idk what kind of massages you give) but this one just felt free handed and as if he did whatever came up to his mind. At this point I said to him, what was the massage appointment before 60 minutes ( I literally wanted to get up halfways my appointment) I know I had seen a 30 min one but anyways he said we're doing 60min. I said okay well I feel like you're doing the same movements over and over again. He also applied pressure with his elbow on my spine and it wasn't pleasant. As a birthday gift I took my sister in law and paid for her service. Upon paying (100$ for both me and her) I gave her exactly the amount and she counted and said NO TIP , I told her I'm not leaving a tip ,then she even asked "WHY NO TIP?" I told her idk if my sister in law liked hers but I didn't enjoy mine. My mom told me she had hot stones placed and o immediately asked the male why didn't he use hot stones on me ? He said " I told you to take off your bra" i was like no you didn't , i didn't hear him say that at all. My mom paid for hers and she gave him 60$ ( total for her was 50) then he looked at her saying TIP!? Like he was taking the remaining 10$ for tip assuming my mom was tipping them. It was as THIS moment when I realized I would never come back here. Before leaving this review , I read other 1 star reviews they have been left and I completely agree. On our way home I told my mom and SIL about my experience, they said they both had hot stones ( with bra ON) and oil and also massaged their feet , None of which I got( I only got lotion ) HA ! I felt like I deserved a refund, but leaving this review is way better to make people aware of this place. Don't come read more

Very mediocre massage. Usually I'm pleasantly surprised by this little foot massage places but not here. Massage was rough and vigorous not relaxing. I had to ask for lotion to be used. My therapists technique was more of a pressing on my whole body than a kneading my muscles. Went with a friend who felt the same way. read more

Treated my mom out to a massage today. I also was on the lookout to try a new spot, so I stumbled across this place on yelp and I can say I'm very happy we came here. Such a great massage, and being that it has been a while since I've gotten one, what a great way to break my spell than to come here... The hot stones caught me off guard because ive never had them on my back before but it felt really great and soothing. Great customer service and the ambiance is nice. Will definitely be coming back. read more

My friend referred me here because I had huge knots and I was sad she didn't remember the women's name that did her massage. She did say don't worry anyone you go with is good and boy was she right. Fiona gave me an amazing massage with breaking all the knots I had to the best of what I could handle. I will definitely be back and refer anyone who needs a massage. Btw they're price range is NOT even close to the being expensive & so we'll worth the massage you'll receive. read more

If you get lucky and get the elderly lady she does a good job. I live 2 min away so it was convenient for me and i really want it to love it specially for the fact that you get a free massage after going 10 times. However the massages suck! The only one that does a good job in my opinion are the couple that own the place. Last time i came the receptionist did my massage it wa shard to relax because she was answering phones while massaging me and talking to other staff. I rather go back to my usual place in Westminister, even if i have to drive 30 min but the massages there are always consistent and price is only 15$ for whole body. read more

I realllllly hate to write this review but I'm not sure where to start ... I went for a massage last night and I took a friend for the first time , I actually have taken several over the years as I've been coming here for yearsssss I'm talking it's been like 3 owners so far ..anyways where can I even start I got joy .. I really didn't even wanna write this but my service was unbelievably poor.. for starters she massaged my feet before my back ... never in the history of me getting massages have they done this ... 2nd it was toooo too loud I understand the bar next door but when I asked if they could close the door bc there was a man outside on the phone she just told him to leave .. still leaving the door open I'm like ok ... thennnn she threw the towel on me !!! I'm like wooooah she just smiled I was so confused what it was for but it was for my back .. why would u throw the towel on my belly like that tho , handed it to me or placed it or maybe throw it on a chair but the way that towel was thrown on me I'm like Wtf ??? ... I'm saying I been coming here with you guys wayyyyy too long I'm sure I know how this is supposed to work ... and to top it off the massage was toooo tooo rough I told ms joy SEVERAL times she was beating me up and she didn't care idk if she assumed me being bigger I needed all that pressure but it was the contrary ! The massage was horrible i wanted to cry in the midst of it I could not wait to tell someone or write this review I'm extremely unsatisfied with this massage I could've had my MAN do this type of massage for free!... she left my knots everywhere!! I have a delicate back so I could feel this lady had nooo intentions behind this massage what do ever there was absolutely NO technique once again the type of massage my man could've just done at home. !!!! She literally was everywhereeeeee with it on my back I'm talking. Rubbing my shoulderrrrr then she rubbing my lower back then back in the same spot leaving my other sides soreeee it was just reallly bad I wanted to cry damn near I should've walked out mid service but you guys CHARGE before anyways .... I still tipped obviously but I would love for someone to reach out and FIX THIS !!!! People get massages to relaxxxxx I literally left that place more stressed then I came in !!! I'm so disappointed in the service ms joy needs to do better .. some of us can actually feel intention behind these massages ... nothing ZEN about this experience whatsoever.. I can go on and on but I would like to save some grace and room for improvement... I'm a long time customer it's been months I was so excited to treat myself to this and I left utterly disappointed.. fix it and address her please ... my friend said hers was great .. and yes they started on her back first ... just like anywhere else .. why would she do my feet first ??? It was alll backwards... Update: I believe boss lady is not around and there are new people in this place .. they are extremely unprofessional. I just got blocked for trying to speak to a manager ! The lady explained I called several times but why would she tell me the first time she is 40 mins away and then she never show up ? It hasn't been several times I'm just rightfully trying to speak to the person in charge .. I understand things happen so I tried to leave a callback number and she did not want to take it down she kept asking me what was the message for but I'm sure I was speaking to the same lady I had a complaint about any way ... she knows she's wrong so she ended up blocking my number .. this is a place of business and these ladies are running it carelessly bc the main lady is not around and I'm not happy about this experience at all I just want someone to fix it ! read more

Nice looking place but that's about it for me. When I asked for Package A I just wanted my feet, calves and knees done. Then he's just staring at me and keeps pointing to the package A. I asked do you understand what I am asking and then walks away and comes back with an older woman and I tell her the same thing and she has to explain it to him. He started of with my feet in the wooden bucket and kept pushing my legs apart as he was massaging the calves which in return is pushing my legs into the wooden bucket and hurting for 15 minutes. Then the same repetitive motion on each leg. This was not very effective massage. Then I went to pay and gave him my debt card and he's giving a dirty look and says here and I says there nothing on the screen. That's for tip and I said no tip there I was going to give cash. It seems he did not know how to work the merchant machine because he had to run to the back again. I pulled out $5.00 and then he grabbed the $5.00 and I said I need change he gave the $5.00 back and said leave. I was going to leave 20% tip but he has a bad attitude, does not know how to massage and he also had a weird smell on him as well. read more

The worse foot massage I have ever gotten. Lady applied too much pressure when she asked if I wanted softer I said yes. She continued applying the same pressure and kept saying "it's ok it's ok" it was far from ok. I grimaced and try to get away from her hands when she did something painful. She just laughed and continued doing what she was doing. When it was all over she asked for a tip. Told her it was the worse massage ever and walked out.
