Men's Sahara Shade Hoodie, by REI Co-op.
Quinn N.

+ Pleasant ambience for some outdoor gear shopping. + Nicely located in the beautiful shopping plaza Tustin Market Place. + Polite, helpful staff. - But unfortunately, the staff are not fully cognizant of their store's deals. See the attached photo mentioning 20% off for any REI Co-op brand item just for subscribing to texts. One associate thought it was for credit card sign-up, another thought it was only for 15% off. + Thankfully they were patient and open-minded to hear me out. - Almost everything here's exorbitant! . Even with all available discounts. + But I bought a really cool, thin, moisture-wicking, stretchy hoodie. Feels very comfortable. Must be good for jogging, hiking, and playing pickleball. So cool!

Kacie was the best! She guided my partner and I on backpacking pack fits and helped us decide on what pack to buy. Very nice and friendly, definitely felt like we were in good hands since she had a lot of great tips and knowledge to share. Thanks Kacie!

Gary in the shoe department is the goat. He made some fantastic recommendations and shared his wealth of knowledge on shoelace tying. Quality trail runners like Altra are expensive but worth it, as my last pair survived for 6 years! Will definitely make this my REI of choice.

This review is for Darren in the bicycle department! Actually, all the guys in the bicycle department were amazing and knowledgeable, but Darren was the lucky guy to help us pick out a bicycle. He was honest and open about the different types of bikes, effortlessly brought it down and helped us, and was informative about the perks and benefits. He is a great team player and we got a new bike! Yay!

Are backpacks rented out at this location?

They sure are! Call the store to get the latest update on inventory.

How big is Tustin REI store?

I regard it as a "big" store, but that is, of course, relative. It's about half to three quarters the size of a regular largish big city supermarket. I don't work there and don't know the exact square footage. If you compare it to other outdoor…

Is this an outlet?

No, it is not. It is a regular REI store. Check REI.com for full details on services.

Good selection of running shoes?

Yes, absolutely. And in general the people who work here with the shoes, really know their shoes. They'll be able to field a lot of different questions as they all use their own products.

Is the garage sale still happening at 8 a.m. today, 3/13/2020?

No, it was canceled.

Is there have Arctery?

Yes, they do have Arc'teryx products.

A Thank You to Trek Bike…read more I want to share how much I appreciate the care and integrity Trek bike has shown with my Parlee bike. From the moment I brought my bike in, it was clear these folks actually know what they're doing--and more importantly, they respect their customers enough to be straight with them. What stood out most is how transparent they were. No upsells, no unnecessary work pitched just to pad the bill. They took time to understand what my bike needed and gave me honest advice. That kind of straightforwardness is rare and it made a real difference in how much I trust them. But here's what really impressed me: they caught a factory recall on my Shimano crank power meter and offered to replace it without charging me a dime. Most shops would've either missed it or found a way to bill me for the service. Not Trek. They went out of their way to make sure I was taken care of, no cost to me. That's the kind of thing that tells you a lot about a business. Special thanks to Caleb--he was instrumental in taking care of my bike and making sure everything was handled right. Bryce was equally knowledgeable and friendly throughout the process too. The whole team is genuinely skilled and personable. It makes the whole experience easier--you're not second-guessing whether they understand what they're talking about. You just know they do. I'm grateful to have a shop I can trust with my bike, and people like Caleb and Bryce who actually care about doing the work right. Trek bike has earned my confidence, and I won't hesitate to bring them my business again.

On August 11, Dorothy informed me that the bike was built and essentially ready to go, except that they were waiting on one part from Orbea/Avinox that I was told Brian had personally ordered. More than a month later, on September 14 at approximately 1:00 PM, I received a text from Raul telling me that my bike was completely finished and ready for pickup. Unfortunately, when I arrived, there was absolutely no proper delivery or setup process for a high-end e-bike of this complexity. Nobody walked me through the Avinox system or helped me sync and set up the bike with my phone, even though the Orbea Wild with the Avinox system must be properly connected and configured before use. Nobody adjusted the suspension for my weight, and there was no indication that the bike had received a proper final setup, safety inspection, or test ride. When I attempted to ride the bike for the first time, I discovered numerous problems that should have been identified before I was ever told the bike was finished and ready for pickup. The front fork had only approximately 50 PSI in it, while the HSC, LSC, and rebound settings were turned to their highest settings. The rear shock also had the rebound and LSC turned all the way to maximum. The RockShox hose clamp that secures the front brake line was missing. The front fender I had ordered was also missing, despite the bike having sat at The Path for approximately six weeks. Even more concerning, the rear derailleur was not functioning properly. Not all gears could be used, and the drivetrain was extremely noisy. None of the batteries on the bike were charged above approximately 30%. Most seriously, the brakes did not appear to have been properly bled. The brake levers could be pulled almost completely to the handlebars. Delivering a new e-MTB to a customer in that condition raises a serious safety concern. What makes this situation even more frustrating is the reason I was given for the six-week delay. Brian and Dorothy repeatedly told me they were waiting for a specific part. Eventually, I sourced the required part directly from TRP myself. I ordered it and had it delivered to my home within two days. I then personally brought the part to The Path on September 13 so the build could finally be completed. Based on that experience, I have serious concerns about whether the part I was repeatedly told had been ordered was actually ordered or actively being pursued. Had I not located and purchased the part myself, I have no reason to believe my bike would have been completed when it was. This was not an inexpensive bicycle or a simple build. A 2027 Orbea Wild equipped with the Avinox system is a sophisticated, high-performance e-MTB, and I expected a professional build, proper suspension setup, functioning drivetrain, properly bled brakes, charged batteries, installation of the parts I ordered, a complete Avinox setup, and a final safety inspection before the bike was handed over to me. Instead, after waiting more than six weeks, I was told the bike was "finished" and "ready for pickup" when it clearly was not properly set up, inspected, or prepared to be ridden. For a shop with The Path's reputation and experience, this level of service and quality control is unacceptable. My biggest concern is not simply the delays or missing parts--it is that I was handed a brand-new e-bike with multiple setup problems and potentially serious safety issues and was told it was complete. I expected far better communication, accountability, workmanship, and attention to safety from The Path Bike Shop. All I hope for is for my bike to be fixed accordingly.

OC Bike Garage is a Lifesaver!…read more I recently bought a Tesway X9 dual motor e-bike and spent two frustrating hours assembling it, only to discover a major issue: the Shimano gear shifter, a part essential to the bike's entire functionality was completely broken and inoperable right out of the box. Feeling defeated, I called OC Bike Garage, and Chris answered. He immediately understood the situation and asked me to email him a few pictures. He explained that Shimano has a great warranty and he could likely fix it, especially if they had the specific part in stock. Cory emailed me saying if I can bring it in they might even be able to get it turned around the same way as they have a Shimano that's comparable but just a different material (chrome). Long story short, I rode the bike down to the shop. Even though I didn't have an appointment, the incredible team there got me in! Cory helped me when I arrived, and they found a slightly different, compatible shifter to replace the broken one. Within just a couple of hours, the fix was done! The service didn't stop there. Since the broken shifter was the last step of assembly, I hadn't had a chance to adjust anything else. Bill went above and beyond and even helped me adjust my brake handles to ensure a perfect fit before I rode off. The entire crew at OC Bike Garage is awesome! They turned a major disappointment into a fantastic experience with their quick, professional service and genuine willingness to help a new customer. If you need any work done on your bike, especially an e-bike, this is the place to go. Great shop, amazing rates, and a great group of people! Highly recommend!
