Just go. Seriously. The prices and food are both awesome. I highly recommend the Schoel. The jalepeno cheddar... SO GOOD. The service is also excellent and the owners really take pride in customer satisfaction. The one and only downside is that they're only open for lunch. Don't be detracted by long lines -- they're always busy and it moves super fast. We frequently will call our order in and pay for it over the phone to just go grab it as well. Like I said, just go. Out of towner that stopped in on my way to New Orleans. Cutesy kitschy decor, you place your order with the cashier and pick up it up down the counter. Gumbo was surprisingly bland. The roast beef and jalepeno cheddar sandwich was delightful. Cashier wasn't particularly friendly, but that's ok -- they were busy. I did expect a little bit more after spending almost 15 dollars for a sandwich, soup, and drink. Tackiest part of the decor, in my opinion: the Trump sign behind the register, so just an FYI if you're the type to boycott/support businesses based on their politics. Love this place. As someone else pointed out, no this isn't a. "5-star restaurant", but it gets a 5-star review for its category. Amazing sandwiches. I haven't had one I didn't like. I can not believe I found this gem. It is not in the best area but everything I have had was awesome. You can tell they make all of there own sauces, dressing, everything. It is all very fresh and they are only open for lunch. But good news is you can buy many of there items in pints to take home with you. read more

Obviously Regina's is a crowd favorite. I will say though that the sandwiches are the way to go vs the salad's. Regina's was the first place we went to when we moved to Mobile and I'm pretty sure we had it for lunch 3 more times that week. Food is great! Favorite is Tom Turkey and must try the Mississippi Mud! The restaurant can be a little noisy so if you are meeting someone to have a private and quiet conversation I would suggest sitting outside or taking the food to go. The dining area also has limited seating and it does get a little busy during the lunch hour. They do have a to-go window if you call in order ahead of time. I would also recommend any of their salads...they are huge and loaded with lots of extras! All of the meats and cheeses are premium. First time been here. Looked great on Yelp. Outside seating looked real cute. Walked in right before the lunch locals crowd in. A lot to choose from on the menu. All the sandwiches looked delicious. After I order the Tom Turkey sandwich I saw some salads that looked amazing!! Next time I'll get the salad! The sandwich and pasta salad was excellent. The disappointment came when she asked what I wanted to drink. I said I'd like a coffee she asked the woman next to her if there was coffee made the woman said no. That was it haha! No! Then she said ...we have tea! Lol so we sat outside a few minutes later the same woman poked her head out the door and screamed my name. She said your food is ready! Umm so who comes out to yell your name but don't have your food in the hand? I'm noticing as a brand new transplant from California, Mobile's customer service at establishments is wretched! This was no exception. The only way I walked away satisfied was because of the pleasant bus boy. He was a kind black man and once I told him I was hoping for coffee he made certain to make some. We were visiting in the area and took a chance on this place as we were just driving around trying to find a lunch spot (that had a lot of cars out front!). Great place! Very fresh food and delicious sandwiches. Tons of various locals in here (the real test!). Efficient, if not utterly friendly, women at the order counter. My husband and I stopped in as recommend by Yelp for lunch during a road trip. We were not disappointed ! Fresh, friendly , awesome, delicious , I could go on and on. We ordered Roasted Red Pepper Bisque, which was perfectly served. Next the Tom Turkey sandwich and mix of turkey cheese honey mustard, grilled perfectly. We also had awesome potato salad. So delicious. For dessert we enjoyed a chocolate brownie with marshmallow yummy-ness ! The restaurant has a comfy, homey feel and it set the stage for a feel good meal.Owners on sight and along with their staff we felt like family. I've eaten here several times. Never had a bad meal, but Monday, the cream of artichoke soup was amazing! I wish I'd gotten a bowl instead of a cup!! The salads are always fresh and delicious. One thing though, (and it is not a fault), I wish they would re-publish the monthly specials list. If I could get one faxed to my office, it would save several of us a lot of fretting over lunch.
