Although some of the things I'm about to say may sound like complaints, they're actually the complete opposite. Reggies is unapologetically itself, and that's part of its charm. The moment you walk in and see someone dressed head to toe in black, you might start having second thoughts about whether you belong there. I know I did. But the farther you walk in, the more you realize that feeling is intentional. This place isn't trying to be for everyone, and that's exactly what makes it work. The red lighting, the loud music, and the mix of sports, rock videos, and the people around you somehow create a vibe that's difficult to describe the first time you experience it. It's chaotic, but in a way that feels authentic rather than forced. Full disclosure, I've been here before with friends. We usually end up on the rooftop having wings and drinks. This time, though, I stopped in by myself because I wanted something quick and easy. The waitress was friendly, easygoing, and genuinely personable. She got my order exactly right, and I found myself watching the England FIFA match while a rock video played on one screen and a baseball game played on another. Nothing about this place feels average, and that's what makes it memorable. The wings came out piping hot, and the fries were cooked perfectly. They were exactly what I was hoping for. The only reason I'm giving four stars instead of five has more to do with my own hangups than anything the restaurant did. Reggies knows exactly what it wants to be, and it does that exceptionally well. If you're looking for a place with personality, good food, and an atmosphere that refuses to blend in, it's absolutely worth checking out. read more

I will forever remember Reggies as the venue where my oldest kid saw his first concert (Novulent). I guess I should have done my due diligence and researched what this concert would entail before we visited. I did some research, but apparently not enough. I thought we'd be sitting at tables, calmly eating dinner, in front of a stage. LOL, no. This is a real club with mostly a standing-room only area, which sometimes turned into a mosh pit and stage diving area. Heck yeah! But also: Oh no, for an anxious parent of a young teen. Luckily, it was all good. The crowd at Reggies was stellar and everyone there was there for a good time. There is an upstairs area with a few tables that look out onto the stage. Then there's a big bench against the wall where you can sit and ponder why you brought your 15-year-old child to a venue where most people are drunk and/or flying high off the wacky tobaccy. Just kidding! I didn't regret my decision. Reggies is a cool place to experience some music. But just know that this place skews more toward young adults (21+), even for the all-ages shows. Reggies has a full menu of food available, which you can order from the bar. I was just in the mood for straight carbs and fat, so I ordered the tater tots as my dinner. You order the food at the bar, then wait like five or 10 minutes, then go and pick up your food at the bar. They'd prefer that you don't eat at the bar, though. You should take your food upstairs to one of the tables. They are very busy at the bar here, taking orders and dispensing drinks. What else should you know? Well, I believe that there's one restroom for both men and women. Reggies is also very strict about bringing in outside food and beverages, including water bottles. They also will not let you take alcoholic beverages outside, but you can go in and out as much as you want. read more

Such a great place to listen to some old school rock n roll. The space fits a good amount of people, it has an upstairs so you can get a good view of the stage if you get there early enough. They also have an outdoor area. They have a wide selection of beers and some seltzers. The red moody light really sets the ambiance. Seeing Slomosa on 04/25/26 was the 2nd time visiting this great venue and had I an awesome time, once again. The staff were all kind and took great care of us. Very loud that it was bars to talk. I got a chicken Parmesan chicken sandwich which was so dry and did not have enough sauce. My boyfriend got a burger that was just okay. The bun on the burger was a little stale. The nachos my friend ordered were mediocre. Don't bother to order the food here unless you're very hungry. This was my first visit to Reggies to watch the band "The Lost Year." Reggies is a traditional bar with a venue in the back. It's dark and loud as you would expect, even on a Sunday night. They have a full menu of bar foods and drinks - they even have a nice menu of non-alcoholic mixed drinks - very impressive. Our server was very good. There isn't a lot of wait staff so we saw them infrequently, but when we did see servers, they were great. Like most bar/venues, the acoustics could be a little better, but the fun is watching/listening to the bands play. So, except for a minor setback in the acoustics, we had a wonderful time. Our experience was a lot of fun and we'll be looking for other opportunities to visit in the future! read more

I was there last night on the rooftop I ordered the main stage burger and an old-fashioned. My waitress was in her mid 20s Caucasian long hair. She never gave me her name. She was extremely rude and very standoffish. My burger was burnt and old ,I did not like old-fashioned smh It taste like a strawberry daiquiri. The waitress then said to me that old-fashioned comes in various ways so I Ask her to explain she proceeded to say that she could not explain. I ordered something else she brought the drink back to the table and slammed it down. I have never experienced such poor customer service and the food was awful. Stopped by for a work happy hour at Reggie's. Wait staff downstairs and on the rooftop were all incredibly friendly and welcoming. Really created a relaxed environment. We sat on the rooftop and really appreciated the shade and fans going- made the experience much more enjoyable in the heat. The food was pretty straightforward, standard bar food. The prices for food and drinks were reasonable, especially so close to downtown. Overall, would recommend for happy hour or drinks with friends. Its difficult to hive Reggie's a rating any higher than a 2. The staff was incredibly rude and made the entire experience off putting. That man that we checked our tickets with at the front gave us a lot of grief for switching some names. It worked out in the end but it already started with a sour taste. The food was pretty good. We got some kind of loaded nachos if i remember correctly. Sound was good but the stage was small and difficult to see from our seats. Packed! Definitely felt like outsiders which could be a good thing or a bad thing depending on how you look at it. I'd come back for the right band, but I hope I don't have to. read more

Although I've never been to Reggie's to see any musical acts, my love and I have enjoyed a couple of unique experiences here over the summer. Reggie's has a fleet of old school buses that they use to take folks to various concerts and sports events around town. The promotion that piqued our interest was a $15 offer that gets you a free ticket to see a Chicago White Sox baseball game, a free bus ride to and from the stadium, and also a food buffet before and after the game. Say what?? We enjoyed this too-good-to-be-true offer twice, and we hope that they will somehow continue this deal in 2024. Reggie's has three levels, including a rooftop level that is quite loud and lively. The buffet is served on the lower and the upper levels. While the buffet can be a bit hit or miss, I really like the BBQ wings and the mac and cheese. One can also load up on hot dogs, fries, and even green beans. Wash it all down with a beer from its fine list of brews. Don't forget to check out the art on the wall with rock'n'roll references, as well as sports figures all with the first name of Reggie (can you name them all?). read more

Stopped for Nolen Entertainment (IG)'s Jazz&Jokes event a few times this summer. The wings are good, I suggest asking for them fried hard as the sauce makes them a little soft. Stayed at the rooftop which is covered and was less crowded. Tom was super chill and great with serving us. The wings and onion rings are really good and worth coming through for. We visited here three times in Sep '24 for three quite different occasions, and obviously love the place! It has a divey look, but it's busy and friendly with good food, good drinks, and clean entirely-graffitied restrooms. First, my nephew and I had to kill some time while a school of other relatives went sightseeing. We took the elevator to the deck, and fell in at the bar. As an ex-Chicagoan, i started us out with a Chicago Handshake: a shot of Jeppson's Malört with a can of Heileman's Old Style! Malört is like a bitter angry absinthe. Old Style is a dry light flavorful lager. The well-chilled beer reminded me that the liquor hadnt actually killed me, and it randomly came to mind that the 1902 lager and the 1920's wormwood could be a start to a great afternoon if only ... Yes! They have quite a list of oldies! While my nephew had some microbrew that tasted astonishingly like cheesecake, the terrific bartender helped me run the gamut! 1850 Stroh's! 1849 Schlitz! 1865 Hamm's! The bartender had to dig in the back of the fridge, and he did us well. The only one that didnt quite measure up was the Stroh's, which was like a weaker Miller Lite. Three days later, the family was staging another outing, and there was a blues jazz soul band on Reggie's front patio. We scooped up a table by the gate and had a great view and a great listen as the band played their creative smooth interpretations and inspired solos, as the punk and metal tourists boarded Reggie's buses to a music festival. They frequently run buses to local events! Very cool. The band even played a brief non-trite phrasing of a happy birthday melody for my nephew! A perfect day! While we enjoyed creative burgers, sandwiches, nuggets, and salads, I continued my tour with 1840 Pabst Blue Ribbon, 1884 Lone Star, and 1903 Miller High Life! Don't frown at my PBR, they brew very close to their original recipe. I had a great time on my old-time beer tour! Two days later, we were out of relatives, but out of our hotel too early. And guess who opens at 11am on a Monday? So my wife and I pulled into a dimly lit table at the open garage-door front of the place. I finished my visit with a 1909 Shiner Bock, and then we caught a ride-share out front to Midway Airport. From now on, Reggie's is my South Loop headquarters. read more

They have hands down the best wings ever!!! I believe they're .99cents each on Tuesday's. The bloody mary is to die for - lots of spice lots of pepper just how I like em. The service is always top notch and very friendly and helpful. Upstairs area has a pool table and another bar area. I remember they would have trivia nights where you can win free drinks. Visited last night with the husband for Jazz and Jokes presented by Nolen Entertainment. Tickets were affordable, parking was easy, and the venue was great, 2nd floor at Reggies. We arrived and had plenty of seating options, we ordered cocktails and nachos and got settled for the show. The jazz band was great, and the comedian was funny and entertaining. Can't wait for next months show. I did take away a star for the food. We had the pulled porked nachos, and they were just not good. Next time, we will get the wings. read more

Some friends and I were in the neighborhood to go to a nearby brewery but we clocked Reggie's while walking there from the train. It has a very cool vibe from the outside and their party bus passed us on our walk, and it solidified our desire to pop in. We didn't know what to expect at all when we arrived, but we picked one of the two front doors to walk into and it snaked us up and around to a rooftop bar area where seating was first-come, first-served. The rooftop was packed and the rock music and tiki torches setting the scene were great. The server was rightfully busy but there whenever we needed her. My partner and I both got super tasty Micheladas for a respectable $10 apiece and then we split Reggie's Veggie Burger and Hummus appetizer. The Hummus portion was huge and you could tell it was homemade with perfectly toasted pita bread and fresh veggies to dip. The showstopper was the Veggie Burger, though! It was made with shredded potatoes and black beans, perfectly spiced and served on a toasted sun-dried tomato bun with lettuce, tomato, onion, and honey Dijon. It was unlike any veggie burger I've ever had before and I will be going back and telling others about Reggie's just for that. We didn't stay for the show, but apparently there's always live music and a comedy club(?) also at the venue. 15/10 would recommend, and will be back to check out the rest of what Reggie's has to offer. read more
