The owner Joe, really is a great guy which is why he is mentioned in every review. He's got a good little staff of employees who are always very helpful and kind. Need a movie recommendation? Give Joe several titles you've enjoyed in the past and he will come up with something you've never even heard of! You won't ever want (or need!) to use Redbox again after you see the selection this little shop has... There are several monthly plans you can subscribe to (we have 2 out at a time, about $25 per month). Only wanna rent family movies? There's a plan for you too, $4.99 per month. Oh and I mention the selection of video games? Yeah, it's extensive too! I hate to mention it, but I have to.... There's an epic xxx section complete with Girls Gone Wild and all the parodies. You're welcome. Pretty much every hit show that's ever been on television is there and when you rent a series, you get the whole series not just one or two discs at a time. Joe also takes requests and custom orders, so if you dont see something, ask! Don't feel like going out? Oh well they also deliver! (This is subject to availability of staff) You'll always be in the loop with the text alerts too. New releases and specials pretty frequently. I came in and was directed to a separate counter for selling products. The nice, helpful staffer took my name and number and told me they would call me in 10-20 minutes. I expected them to look it over while I was present, but asking me to wait a while looking over the selections was fine. I went to run an errand and received a call sooner than expected. They were able to use some CDs and offered me $12 cash OR $15 store credit. I chose cash. It was a nice exchange. The 2nd time I came I was not so lucky but it's fine. There were quite a few people there both times. I did not get any pics inside, but the new location is quite convenient, just a walk-in on Wabash. I have not purchased anything, but in addition to music, they have posters and pins.

I originally stopped in because it was recommended by Pinwheel Records, and I'm really glad I did. The shop has an incredible selection and the staff was extremely knowledgeable. Drew especially was fantastic to talk with. I asked about local Chicago music and he immediately had great recommendations and insight into the scene. One of the coolest things about the shop is that 606 has its own label, and I was able to pick up a limited release of Balance: A Compilation Without Boundaries -- featuring artists with parallels to the city of Chicago, experimenting sonically & balanced with music.  You can tell this place genuinely cares about music discovery and supporting artists. Definitely worth a stop if you're digging around Chicago for records beyond the usual mainstream finds. I was traveling and like Pinwheel, 606 was also able to ship my purchases home for me. Shops like this proved to me the Chicago music scene is extremely vibrant!

My boyfriend and I go up to the front and kindly ask if we could listen to a record and the ignorant employee with the gray hair stated only if we wanted to buy that record. He repeated this ignorant statement three times to us. How will I know if I want to buy it if I haven't heard it? It is no longer the 90s we have streaming nowadays I could've just looked this up on my phone but to be respectful I opted for the record player. The employee said I'd have to give him my drivers license in exchange for the needle. I did so, I listened to the record it did not please me. I took the needle off went back up to the front and retrieve my license. We then continued to look around for other records but that experience totally threw me off to the point where I didn't want to listen to anything else because of how rude the workers were. My boyfriend has been going there for years and encountering that was shocking. I suspect it's due to prejudice! Fortunately we love music and we did buy the records we came in there looking for. But I would never go back here again!

I was there well over an hour and spent over $500 in used and new vinyl. I felt that the prices were fair based on rarity and quality of the records. There were some new 12" records that were priced bit higher than I would like so I passed on them. The young man that checked me out found me a big box for my selections so that I could easily mail them to myself. My only criticism is that there were major stacks of vinyl behind the counter that hadn't been put out for sale yet. I had a fear of missing out there! I will definitely be back on my next visit to Chicago. This place is a staple for Hyde Park.

It's chaotic, but in a way that feels authentic rather than forced. Full disclosure, I've been here before with friends. We usually end up on the rooftop having wings and drinks. This time, though, I stopped in by myself because I wanted something quick and easy. The waitress was friendly, easygoing, and genuinely personable. She got my order exactly right, and I found myself watching the England FIFA match while a rock video played on one screen and a baseball game played on another. Nothing about this place feels average, and that's what makes it memorable. The wings came out piping hot, and the fries were cooked perfectly. They were exactly what I was hoping for. The only reason I'm giving four stars instead of five has more to do with my own hangups than anything the restaurant did. Reggies knows exactly what it wants to be, and it does that exceptionally well. My friends and I took the Reggie's concert bus after spending about 3.5 hours inside of the bar/restaurant. While in the restaurant service wasn't the best BUT they had only one waiter on staff so it's at no fault to the people working. Food and drinks were pretty good albeit overpriced. The problem wasn't with this... it was the bus. After arriving incredibly early we were placed on a bus that was incredibly late. While in the bus we got stuck in major traffic right outside the venue and the show had already started. Drinks were served in the bus and after sitting in traffic for what felt like ages people had to use the restroom. Well, after some begging about 15 individuals got off the bus to use a nearby porta potty. This is when the driver took the chance to gun it and fly by traffic (again we were already extremely late and still don't know why he didn't do this sooner) and leave all of those individuals stranded pretty far from the venue. That being said. we missed about half the concert because we were waiting for our friends who were stranded to arrive. Why didn't we go in? A phone was also left behind in the process with no help from the driver (the bartender? again she was great!). A new ticket also had to be purchased because of this. And if that isn't bad enough, coming back he refused to let my friends he left behind back on the bus (one of my friends did say "that wasn't very nice to leave us like that sir" which clearly triggered him). Thankfully another bus let us on with sympathy from both the driver and the bartender who could not believe how terribly he treated people and had heard similar stories from from several other passengers. Please do better Reggie's! I wanted to keep coming back but after that I NEVER want to run into that employee again.

Great little corner shop with a well organized selection and really welcoming. I stopped in twice during the week, Scott helped me one day and Kim the other. Both were super friendly and knowledgeable. They even suggested other record stores within walking distance, which made for a fun afternoon digging through stacks. I ended up grabbing a handful of records throughout the week, including a couple Record Store Day releases I had missed out on back home. Since I was traveling, they were also kind enough to ship my purchases for me, which made things incredibly easy. Really appreciated the recommendations on some local International Anthem label releases I wasn't familiar with. You can tell the staff genuinely loves music and helping people discover new stuff. Looking forward to stopping back in next time I'm in Chicago.
