Went to Hyde Park Records to unload some of my vinyl albums. Due to my basement flooded so I needed the room for so remodeling. What an excellent place this is. Very friendly staff, they're very knowledgeable about their music. So if you have vinyl records you need to part with I definitely recommend them, they're very fare on pricing.

Great place! My teenaged son was in heaven. If you're a vinyl connoisseur and near Chicago, this is a must!

store owner (rudest man on earth)

PLEASE DO NOT SHOP HERE (unless they change owners) this man is extremely rude, and a horrible person. im at a loss of words from my experience at this store. i was kicked out for browsing the store. i was nothing but polite and respectful to the owner, and he snatched something out of my hands that was not labeled (do not touch) or (not for sale) and kicked me out. i asked a coworker (who turned out to be his son) if he owned the place and he reluctantly said yes. the owner said "haha you can't escalate it" i told the owner that i was a regular customer, and that my family was as well, and he replied i don't care. and put his hands on me in an attempt to remove me from the store. mind you this was all because i looked at a book that was not for sale, yet it was not labeled. please do not support this establishment.

Have tons of old school records and cd's. Takes you back when you were younger when music had sooooo much more meaningful lyrics

We ventured to Bridgeport and we were lucky to find them open. I love finding stores like this because you have the opportunity to dig for the gems. The staff at Let's Boogie has been working dilligently to get the store more organized, and the items priced. There is stuff everywhere, from vintage vinyl, CD'S, tapes, DVDS and even VHS. They are still actively buying and getting new sealed albums also. I found a bunch of stuff I didn't know I was looking, and a few I left behind because I was over my budget. Prices are comparable to what you would find on Discogs but you may be able to work something out with the owner. Enjoy!! I know I did, and will definitely hit this spot again when I'm back in Chicago.

My fiancé and I strolled in one afternoon and so happy we did. Let's Boogie has a great selection of rock, jazz, blues, new wave, house and dance records. We picked a bunch at reasonable prices too. When we were ready to check out, we met Jason who runs the store. He showed us old family photos of the store through the years. This is definitely a Bridgeport staple so it's great to see a new generation of customers coming though. I'll definitely make it a Saturday tradition to visit Let's Boogie!

The Good: I would pay just to chat with the owners. These guys are a fountain of knowledge when it comes to music, especially Chicago-based music. If anyone can ever pull together the funds to open a Chicago Music Museum, these are the first people you want to talk to. The Bad: The shop needs a deep cleaning. A lot of the music is unaccessible and will take unpacking and "digging" to find what you want. The music that is accessible, for the most part, is not protected by plastic and most items are in "good" to "poor" condition. You will be hard pressed to find any pristine items here. And, unfortunately, prices do not reflect the condition. All items seem to be priced at the high end of the scale. Conclusion: A record shop worth visiting... yes, it is worth the drive if you are not from the area. You will find records you've never seen before, and may never see again, but be prepared to pay higher than online prices.

The workers were really nice and chatted with us while we looked around. Both my husband and I enjoy vinyl so we really enjoyed looking around. My husband picked out a few things, and commented he wants to try to come out here with his dad because he loves the music sold here. If you're looking for a solid place to buy music and love oldies, I'd recommend checking this poace out when you're in the area.
