Came here for the Emerald City pop up and happy hour. Honestly, I might just be too old for the Sunday night/weekend crowd. I felt like it was too loud and the music was not my jam. For an event pop up, I thought maybe they would play some wicked music (even remixed) but it sort of felt like it was an afterthought. Even the "decorated" side of the bar was empty and not being served at that bar. I walked over to take pictures of that side but I wasn't sure I was supposed to lol. When we got there, we had to ask about the happy hour because it wasn't mentioned. When we got the okay, we ordered drinks and pizza. I'm really disappointed with my experience at this restaurant. When the waitress brought our bill, she didn't mention that an 18% gratuity was already included. The only tip options shown were 3%, 5%, and 7%, which seemed unusually low, so I added a custom tip and ended up leaving almost 20%. When my friend paid and asked about it, the waitress casually mentioned that 18% had already been included. That felt misleading and honestly very frustrating. If gratuity is automatically added, staff should clearly communicate that to avoid confusion and double tipping. Because of this lack of transparency, I'm giving this place a 3. We stopped by for their Wicked themed menu. However, we weren't too impressed by the venue or decor. Although music was playing, it wasn't Wicked theme. We thought it was a missed opportunity to capitalize on the theme they were promoting. After a few drinks, we left since the music was a bit loud. If Jack Skellington and Sally ever opened a bar together, it would 100% be Tree House Chicago. From the cobwebs to the glowing skeletons hanging from the ceiling, this place nailed the spooky-chic vibe -- equal parts eerie and electric. Themed cocktails? Oh, they don't play. My drink looked like it was straight out of a Tim Burton dream -- one came in a glass box with fairy lights and a spider (because why not?), and another was bright green with a gummy worm hanging off the rim. Terrible place! We decided to check out this night club Saturday night for my birthday and regretted. I asked the bouncer outside about it and he seemed arrogant and said we have 500 people upstairs do want to go or not! We paid $80 for cover charge and ladies get no discount. There was probably a little over 200 people upstairs lol. Music was bad, DJ was terrible and ambience was not good at all! We left 5 minutes after arriving there and I kindly asked the ladies if I can get a refund and they laugh and said no. DO NOT RECOMMEND...waste of $80 dollars. read more

This place is very cute especially for this holiday or seasonal pop ups. I went to their Valentine one this year and Halloween Town one as well. It wasn't really crowded at around 9pm on a Friday but after a couple of hours it did. You can reserve a table online or head over to the bar. We walked in and got seated at a table. There is a lot of cute background you can take pictures with and very cute. We got their mocktails and it was pretty good and refreshing. My husband and I went here to watch the Bears versus Packers playoff game, and it exceeded my expectations. This wouldn't have been our first choice, but I'm glad we ended up there. There was room for us to sit at the bar shortly before the game started, the drinks were reasonably priced, as was the food. We got buckets of beer and a pizza and cheese curds. All good. The bartender who served us was very friendly and helpful as well. They still had Christmas decorations up, which was fun to see. read more

Lots of fun holiday decor and themed festive drinks! Food is above average bar food fare. Drinks are novelty and on the sweeter side. I enjoyed one of the mocktails. We were surprised by the waffle fry seasoning which had a BBQ taste. They do autogratuity for large groups and add a 3% staff fee too. The tree house is a fun place. The staff is friendly, the decor fits the theme perfectly and the food is decent bar/finger foods. The drinks are strong but they are tasty. Some nights have entertainment. Unfortunately the night I went did not. I gave three stars because for a Saturday night, it would of been nice to get a themed experience and the menu could have a bit more options on it. It is a small menu. Went for their Emerald City pop-up, which was Wicked themed. They played regular pop and hip hop rather than the Wicked sound track. They were definitely busy! Vibes were immaculate, you can tell they put so much effort with the giant clear balloons, and the space was decked out into green and pink. They have trendy photo ops at the back! The pot o gold chicken nuggets came crispy and quite tender chunks with lots of waffle fries underneath. I wish there were more nuggets and less fries, but it's fine. Pop-u-lar pizza was a classic pepperoni pizza with no frills. $20 "we can't all come and go by bubbles" nonalcoholic drink, was a yummy pink lemonade base with a rock sugar candy wand. The emerald city drink was priced at $65 and easily shareable by 4-5 people, pretty yum! read more

I love how TreeHouse went all out with their decor for Spooky Season this year. If you're a fan of The Nightmare Before Christmas you're going to love this pop up! They even have food and drinks that are so cute to go along with their theme! The food was phenomenal, my drink was a little weak but it was still a vibe! Went to Chicago for a mini girls trip and stumbled upon this place. We were intrigued by the Alice and wonderland theme and it did not disappoint!! You can tell the amount of effort and hard work that went into this pop up. It was perfectly executed. We ended up going with the patron tower margaritas, we ordered the strawberry, passionfruit, blueberry, and mango. They were delicious!! What truly sold us and caused for the five starts was our waitress Gabby!! She was so sweet and helpful. Truly the best, this was our first night of our trip and we could not stop thinking about her and talking about her for the rest of it! Two things to note: upstairs is a nightclub called the tunnel we also had a blast up there, again totally unplanned. We walked in thinking we would walk right out after a drink or two at the bar and didn't end up leaving until hours later. Although the menu says that 20% is automatically taken from your bill for tip, this is untrue. They no longer do that so your total DOES NOT include a tip. What went well?! Everything! This spot continuously changes it's themes but Wonderland has to be one of the best by far. The decor throughout makes it so fun. The staff were friendly and made great food and drink recommendations. I took so many pictures! Lbs! The chicken was delicious, the sliders were so good and I even enjoyed the pizza! What I thought was so nice (even though I don't watch the show lol) they played Love Island on the big screen and you knew it was on because 80% of the customers eyes were glued to the TVs! I was so excited to attend their love Island watch party during my Chicago visit. This bar was so cute and unique. I attended during the Alice in Wonderland pop-up installation. I sat at the bar and the service was really slow, but understandable as the place was pretty packed. However, I do feel the bartenders could have acknowledged me at least once within the 20 minutes of me sitting there. However, when I was interacting with the bartenders, they were very nice. So honestly, I just think they get distracted when it gets busy so understand understandable. I ordered the house white wine, which was a Sauvignon Blanc that was pretty good and I also got the spinach dip which came with flatbread pieces and colorful carrots. That were surprisingly such a nice and refreshing add-on. The dip was really good! Overall, this was such a cute and fun time. A lot of people came out with their friends, and everyone was having so much fun. The towers also looked really cute and overall all of the food smelled and looked good for the most part. read more

Came here all the way from Vegas for the Wicked pop-up. I enjoyed the decor and my stroll through the Emerald City. However, when we got there, the guy at the door didn't want to honor our 9 PM reservation. After my friend explained that we had a reservation, she asked to speak to the manager. The manager let us in only to end up letting more people in after that. Not sure why this went down the way it did, but it definitely left a bad taste in my mouth. I got the Somewhere Over The Rainbow drink and it was basically a frozen margarita, which I love. I wanted to try the Glinda Bubble Prosecco, but apparently they were either out of it or didn't have the supplies to create the bubble. Disappointing. We didn't get any food since it was so late and I had already eaten. But like I said, I still enjoyed myself since I'm a big Wicked fan, but their customer service needs work. read more

This restaurant looks straight out of Alice in Wonderland, which is the theme that they were going for. I was here on a solo trip and I felt so comfortable when coming here the bartender was nice and explained the restaurant and even took time to look up different recommendations for me to try after leaving as well. The drink was pretty strong but perfect. The garlic Parmesan wings were delicious. The establishment was very clean with a decent price menu and photo ops everywhere. Our waitress was super sweet and very apologetic when our order got mixed up a few times, which I appreciated. However, the mix-ups did become a bit frustrating, and I was also charged full price for one of my drinks--even though it was clearly during happy hour (my reservation was at 4:15, and happy hour runs from 4-6). Despite that, I'd still go back because the overall vibe was solid and the staff was kind. That said, Tree House definitely owes me a drink next time for that overcharge! read more

My friend and stopped in for a drink before dinner on a Friday night. It wasn't very busy but we were there early, like 6p. The decor here is pretty awesome. It was over the top (in a good way!) decorated for Halloween and super fun. We sat at the bar and were helped immediately. The decor is giving Glinda- I especially LOVED the pink women's restrooms with Wicked quotes applied to the mirrors. It was a nice touch. I asked about bottle service days prior to my trip and was put on a reservation list for 10pm and when I showed up guys at the door checked my id to tell me oh place closes in 30 minutes. We were told by a manager or guy we have a spot upstairs to celebrate my birthday we get up there to sit down at a section and there was NO ONE to serve us not one drink or anyone coming up to offer us anything. We went to one bar to ask for service she sent us to another side bar and she says she will send someone then no one shows. At the end of the day we got up to leave security I guess asked we were leaving and we said no one served us and he said oh why didn't yall tell me .. sir how were we suppose to know and took our bottle service coins somewhere else. We LOVED this place! From the music, to the food, to the service. They played EDM and husband and I were dancing in our seats with every bite lol. It is loud so keep that in mind. Our server was great. Very attentive and we never felt like we had to locate her. 100% recommend. As for the food... delicious. The pizza was really good. One of the better pizzas I've had in a while for not being a pizza or Italian place. The fried chicken sandwich was amazing and very filling. It came with TWO chicken patties. Took one off to share with my husband since I was not THAT hungry. But so worth the price! For drinks we tried the Mixed Feelings and the Juniper Kiss. Both good. The first one was sweeter. I couldn't help but notice the beautiful colors and decor of this place. My favorite part was the swings which my niece, nephew and I thoroughly enjoyed.
