Stopped in for breakfast, and the vibe here is old country, meets eclectic art, and amazing food. Service was great, I had the huevos rancheros and it was delicious, so good. Egg was perfectly cooked, the sauces was yummy, and the crispy tortilla shell was perfect.

Was here tonight for a private wedding event and this place didn't disappoint. The staff were friendly and very attentive to our needs. The food was Amazing and I left very full. They serve many dishes and some were gluten free. The drinks were just as good. Can't wait to come back

Went to meet my boyfriend here and I was pleasantly surprised. It was delicious. I got the veggie burger. The ranch dressing was great! I'd definitely go back!

Yummy! First time in for brunch with the sisters and enjoyed! Our server was super friendly and brought us some complimentary Fritters (both the Blueberry and corn) both of which were yummy. I think the corn was my favorite. It had a bit of jalapeño and cheese. We ordered the blueberry French toast which was thick and yummy. I ordered the fresh mozzarella sandwich. It was good although I didnt ask for bacon and it was made with it. Not a big deal as I do eat meat and was good with it, but minor miss there. Fries were just ok, a tad dry. The space is semi small inside, although they do have outdoor seating out front. Indoor seating is a tad loud as well but tolerable. Overall enjoyed the food and service. Would return!

I never realized Redwood's breakfast game was so strong but after this last go-round, consider me converted. Everything from the warm, cozy vibe inside (actually, way more lounge-y than cottage-y but Im totally cool with that) to the right-there but never pushy server, to the above-par coffee was a real treat. I ordered the Veggie Hash and while the portion felt a bit on the small side (maybe I should get the potato pancakes instead of the corn tortillas as a side next time), the goods hit where it counts. Lovely over-medium eggs over a bunch of Yukon gold potatoes with some kale, shrooms and onions made for a nice hearty start to the day. Like others have observed here, seasoning was definitely lacking, but I got no problem using a salt shaker when push comes to shove. All in all a pleasant experience.

the Brussels sprouts were so good! The flavor was lemony and the fried aspect made it crunchy. The drinks were good. The beer was 4/10 because it was a bit bitter. But the Guavarita was amazing! So sweet! The food was good! The waffles were great. The hashbrowns were thin and crispy so I loved that, the BLT was regular, nothing crazy but not bad. We had outside seating and the area is crowded but there was a heater next to us.

Came here this weekend for a delicious brunch. Lots of gluten free and vegetarian/vegan options. Was a bit of a wait but was worth it. Everyone enjoyed their food. Cute interior. Very popular, and limited seating. I got the chilaquiles and a side of hash browns. Could taste the butter in the hash browns, highly recommend. Chilaquiles were delicious and fresh. Had a mango pineapple mimosa. When I couldn't taste the mango they brought me more puree to add to my drink. My friends got pineapple mango margaritas. One friend got the special which was a corn waffle with salsa and an egg on top, she said it was interesting and good. Can't remember when my other friend got but she did get the blue berry fritters with lemon curd and they came out pipping hot.

Pleasant Montavilla pub. Nice spot for a late breakfast or early lunch. Dan went for the fried oatmeal waffles (waffles, eggs, and bacon), while I chose the chicken sandwich, which was served on a tasty brioche bun and came with fries and a few slices of dill pickle and some pickled cauliflower. Decent sandwich, surprisingly not very spicy -- the menu calls it Spice, Spice, Baby (Tori's Fried Chicken Sandwich). Guess the billing made me expect a bit more punch. Attractive ambiance. Attentive wait staff. Fast and efficent service.

If Portland was to have yet another nickname to it would be "brunch city." Despite being so popular I usually don't share the enthusiasm with the rest. I think the main reason is typically no matter where you to go brunch, it is relatively the same menu, avocado toast, eggs benedict, omelets, etc, and while some places might be their own twist on this dishes they still don't excite me. However, upon briefly looking at the menu here, I saw numerous dishes that piqued my interest We started with the corn fritters as an appetizer, and they were a delightful surprise! The sweet ones with blueberry and lemon curd were a perfect balance of flavors, and the savory corn and cheddar with buffalo sauce was incredibly satisfying. For our mains, my husband had the trout hash, and I opted for the veggie hash. Both were incredibly flavorful and filling, and I even got two decent meals out of mine! My mom went the YOLO route, and had a lemon cheesecake with berry compote. Our server had to keep a watchful eye on us, as every time my mom turned her back we would steal bites. Our server was fantastic - attentive, friendly, and had a great sense of humor. If you're looking for a brunch spot that stands out from the crowd, the place is definitely worth a visit!

I wish I had found this place sooner! Just saying the food is delicious is an understatement! I will definitely be back to eat here! The staff is friendly and attentive! Indoor and outdoor seating, nice and clean! I definitely recommend everyone eat here!

    Portland is wonderful!

His place just gets better and better, this is the best French place in town in my opinion. I haven't been in here for a long time because life has been hard, and I still got a big hug from the owner, she still remembered my favorite dish, I love this restaurant deeply. Great lunch options, and if you get on their email list they'll let you know when they have dinner pop-ups which are also incredible. Lots of vegetarian options. But excellent bacon, hash browns and other deliciousness. It's on the side of town that is closest to Mount Hood and the gorge. It's not too crowded. Super friendly, but still special, perfect for a mother's/Father's Day, date brunch, or a birthday. Love this place!

Though I've only just discovered this fantastic business, I can tell it has morphed into its current state through constant community engagement. This is the cafe the neighborhood wants! It's a meeting space, it's where you go for Sunday breakfast, it's the place to listen to music or play Star Trek Trivia! With inviting indoor and outdoor spaces, Covert is filled with dusty old books, quirky art, pop-cultural knickknacks, musical instruments and so much more. There's something for everyone here! In the past week I've been to two events in this space. I attended a Montavilla East Tabor Business Association networking event a few days ago, and also had breakfast and listened to live music this morning. The staff were friendly and accommodating both times, and I felt like I was being invited to a neighbor's garden party rather than a local bar. Covert is that kind of community. I plan to return for more delicious breakfasts, and for their monthly Murder Podcast series that records live in the venue. In fact, look for Covert Cafe videos online. They produce really high quality content from the events that take place in their space. Yet another way these amazing folks help serve the community.

To be painfully truthful I do hate writing sort of meh reviews especially for establishments that are locally owned but there are a couple of things that unfortunately left a bad taste in my mouth. To start off entering the bar was elegant, it feels high class. The ambiance was dark, intimate and again elegant. We stopped by before heading out to some clubs for the evening for some food and drinks. The drinks were delicious and refreshing. They really do take care of their cocktails. The server was pleasant and attentive, although it was a slower night. However when it came to the food it was disappointing to say the least, for a place when you first walk in that looks classy and upscale, you would expect the food to be somewhat decent. We ordered the dumplings and brisket fried rice. To be short the dumplings were chewy and felt undercooked in terms of steam dumplings. The brisket fried rice was overly salty and the brisket was not at all tender; in fact when I tried to share with it my wife I could not tear it apart with a fork or with even my hands, it felt fatty and chewy. Again, the vibes and general area of the bar was immaculate, I appreciated eating by a candlelight and enjoying some drinks, but when it came to the food I felt underwhelmed. I do wish the best for the place however.
