We went to the radio room as a celebration. And it truly was a celebratory thing between the fun drinks, loud music, and the passive amount of garlic on just about everything we ordered. It was very fun. The service was quick even though they were busy and although they gave us the wrong side to go with the BLT, which was delicious they very quickly came out with the correct side without any trouble. Completely fun atmosphere and for the BLT alone, I will totally be back.

I am staying at the Cascada and was told try Radio Room by the receptionist. This spot is a vibe. Great food selection on the Happy Hour menu! I had a super tasty and refreshing Spicy Sunday (N/A).

Radio Room -- Portland, OR Every now and then The Açaí Guy must step away from the bowl and investigate... other forms of nourishment. Enter Radio Room. First impression walking in: imagine an old-school diner and a Portland hipster café had a baby. That's the vibe. Retro bar, warm lighting, cool crowd, and the kind of place where you could either grab a quick bite or accidentally stay for three hours. Now here's the weird part. The prices. I checked the menu twice. Then I checked it again. Because everything felt... suspiciously cheap. In a good way. Like you've discovered a pricing loophole that the rest of Portland hasn't noticed yet. Menu is refreshingly simple too. One page. No 17-section manifesto about locally sourced radishes. Just food. Ordered the Chicken Parm Sandwich and a margarita. The sandwich? Ridiculous. Tender chicken, perfectly sauced, soft bread holding everything together like a true team captain. This thing was a full meal disguised as a sandwich. Easily one of the better chicken parms I've run into. The margarita? Dangerous. Way too easy to drink. The kind where you casually order another before realizing you might need a bowl tomorrow to restore balance. Sat at the bar and the service was excellent -- smiles, conversation, and good recommendations. Always a good sign when the staff actually seem like they enjoy the place too. Would I come back? Absolutely. Rating 4.4 / 5 Açaí Berries Breakdown * Taste: 4.5/5 * Value: 5/5 (seriously... check the prices) * Vibes: 4.6/5 * Service: 5/5 * Margarita Danger Level: High Current Status: Portland Hidden Gem Lesson Learned: Sometimes the best bowls... are sandwiches. Recovery Plan: Açaí tomorrow. -- The Açaí Guy

We had a good experience at Radio Room. From the moment we walked in, the staff was warm and welcoming. The service was smooth and efficient--our server was knowledgeable about the menu and offered helpful recommendations. The food took a while to come out and everything looked great. Everything was good for the most part, but the shrimp in the shrimp in grits didn't taste fresh. The Mac and cheese was bland so our friend ordered a side of tomato soup to dump into it to give it some flavor. The ambiance was relaxed yet stylish for an old school vibe. There was a live DJ spinning vinyl records which was pretty cool. Our server was nice and when she noticed the shrimp wasn't touched on the shrimp and grits, she asked if everything was okay. We informed her it tasted old and she apologized and offered to take half price off the bill, which was really kind of her to do! Will definitely come back and try other menu times.

First time here. Service was great, place was busy and they seem short handed but everyone was smiling and helping. The good was amazing. Had the bacon Benedict, the house potatoes seasoning is delicious and my poached eggs were cook to perfection. Oh and the sauce had just the right amount of kick.

I came here with my family today, we just got drinks and happy hour foods. Honestly very glad we only got happy hour foods since they were cheaper, because had any of the food we tried been full price, it would've been an even greater disappointment. I got the chicken sandwich, bread was horrible, chicken overly salty and just tasted bad. Didn't even eat half of it, left it on the plate. Chicken wings took forever to come out which is understandable but they were so crispy, borderline burnt even, tough to chew. The birria tacos aside from the tiny portion size, not a great taste, the consome was super bland and runny, the tacos with the pineapple salsa just taste strange. The service was alright, the server was nice and all, it was impressive she took all our orders and remembered who got what, and didn't need to write any of it down. However, she just didn't check on us enough, never asked how the food even was (I would've been honest about it) and just overall the service was so-so. The saving grace here is the drinks, just based on assumption because I personally didn't try any of them. They have a good happy hour for the drinks, I believe starting at $9 for a decent selection. In saying all that I definitely wouldn't return here, the food was just overall not worth it, even at happy hour prices. Probably just stick to drinks here for happy hour if you're interested, but just know there are other places with better food out there.

Found this place and so glad we walked in! Like stepping back into the 1950s. Adorable ambience. Great service. We did not have time to stay for a bite to eat, but their menu looked amazing. We ordered drinks which were truly wonderful. A drink called the Nordic Negroni. It was really wonderful, made with aquavit. If you like licorice, this is the drink for you. Parking on a weekend nights on Alberta Street is always a bit chancy. Give yourself extra time to find off street parking.

The egg Benedict - not good. The scramble sandwich- I had to drench it in hot sauce. The potato had good crunch and no flavor. Salt, pepper, and ketchup, nothing helped :( THE VIBES THO!!! 10/10 I would just go back cause it's cool inside. Maybe the cocktails are better but the food is icky. Service was okay. Nothing special.

    Classic Breakfast was on point

Definitely a great place for food and beverages. Would give it 5 stars, but they only had beef and pork options. More restaurants need to offer turkey or chicken for breakfast for more healthy fare. However, everything from the French toast, to burger, to classic breakfast was on point. Great location, great staff, great patio, and welcoming ambiance. Don't miss this neighborhood gem.

I had some kind of negative impression of this restaurant and bar for apparently no reason whatsoever because my recent visit made me fall in love! The restaurant area is diner-like and the bar feels a little dark and divey, but in all the right ways. I'll be back for the vibes. My spouse and I popped in for a quick pre-dinner drink. I feel like getting small plates and a bevy or two isn't always appreciated by servers, but the staff was welcoming and attentive. The snack we got was delicious and I would order it again anytime. Full bar with a soda gun is so appreciated when I have a hard time finding no-sugar + non-alcohol beverages in so many establishments. I look forward to accepting my friends' invitations to come here from now on!

Love the atmosphere here, it has such a cozy 70s retro vibe! It was my first time here, and I ordered the Eggs Benedict with potatoes and a glass of orange juice. The portion size was perfect, and the Eggs Benedict was cooked beautifully o.o The tomato paired perfectly with the runny yolk and their delicious sauce. The potatoes were flavorful with just the right amount of crunch. Service was fast and attentive. I'll definitely be coming back to try more from the menu!

This place is a gem. The vibes here are amazing. The place is so cool and quirky and kind of made me smile the whole time I was there. There are a couple of bar counters, lots of cool seating with retro tables and booths and an outside space with heaters and small fire pits. So good! I had a few happy hour cocktails and a huge basket of the most delicious French fries! I didn't have anything else but my sense is it would be good. This is a great place. I wish I could transport it to Philly.

I always have a great food and drink experience here. I love that they have happy hour daily, an outdoor seating area and a rooftop! Their appetizers here have always been good (I've never had an actual dinner or meal here) and their drinks even more phenomenal. Never gah a bad drink here! They have great options for happy hour too! I tried the birria tacos as they seem to be a newer item on the menu and I liked them, but definitely could use a bit more spice and flavor in the meat. Sadly, my friend had a taco that was ALL FAT and thankfully I saw it so she could remove it. Kind of gross lol But other than that, great experience!

The only thing not pictured is our wagu braised with sweet potato. That was phenomenal. It pulled apart and melted in your mouth with every bite. We ended with two very different deserts, the strawberry mochi and whipped crem brûlée type desert. Both were tasty. Price range for all plus three alcoholic drinks was $165 not including tip. We were full and happy. Great service as always and it was full, busy house tonight inside the place. I wouldn't change anything other than trying some new things next time to add!

To speak about Teardrop Lounge, I should probably start with this:…read more Ladies and gentlemen, I present my favorite cocktail bar. Not the best -- I'm not arrogant enough to claim that. I haven't been to every cocktail bar in Portland, and saying something is the best usually says more about your lack of experience than your conviction. But favorite? That I can stand behind. And I want to get that out of the way early, because of the amount of praise I'm about to pour on this place -- fully earned, completely intentional. The biggest crime here is that I only discovered it two weeks ago, after living in Portland for a year. It had been recommended to me countless times, and I ignored it. A mistake. A painful one. But now that I've found it, I don't plan on making that mistake again. I'm not typically an Old Fashioned drinker. In fact, I usually hate them. But somewhere between curiosity and too many episodes of Mad Men, I decided to try one anyway -- fully expecting to confirm my bias. Instead, it completely flipped me. Bright, almost citrus-forward in a way that felt unusual but entirely intentional. Balanced, smooth, just enough burn to remind you what you're drinking without overwhelming it. It was the first time I actually understood the appeal. I'm pretty sure I grew a few chest hairs that night. That alone would've been impressive. But it didn't stop there. The space is beautiful -- clean, intentional, but not cold. The staff are excellent: personable, engaged, and most importantly, authentic. Not scripted, not performative. The kind of people you actually want to talk to, and hopefully, eventually be on a first-name basis with. Now, all of that gets it close to a perfect score. But what pushes it over the edge -- what makes this place stick -- is the White Russian. One of the first drinks I ever had. My dad's drink. Not because of The Big Lebowski -- that came later -- but because it's just always been his thing. And at some point, it became mine too. Typically, when bars try to "elevate" a White Russian, they ruin it. They overthink it. Swap ingredients, tweak ratios, add unnecessary flair. And more often than not, it ends in disappointment. Teardrop does the opposite. They respect it -- but refine it. The coffee liqueur actually tastes like coffee. The heavy cream is properly integrated, not just dumped on top. The vodka -- whatever they're using -- is clean, present, and perfectly measured. There's a subtle complexity to it without losing what makes the drink what it is. It's the best White Russian I've ever had. No hesitation. I've gone back twice just to make sure it wasn't a fluke. It wasn't. If someone asked me what my death row drink would be -- this specific cocktail, from this specific bar, is in the conversation. Easily. Teardrop Lounge doesn't just make great cocktails. It reminds you why cocktails matter in the first place. And that's why it's my favorite.

We came to Teardrop Cocktail Lounge while visiting Portland and were genuinely impressed…read more The cocktails were excellent -- thoughtful, well-balanced, and clearly made by people who know what they're doing. One of the best parts was how approachable the bartenders were. We asked for custom drinks based on our preferences, and both came out perfectly tailored. Creative without being weird, and strong without being sloppy. What really stood out was the price point. For the quality of cocktails, the prices felt very reasonable compared to similar craft cocktail bars in other cities. The vibe was also great -- relaxed, cozy, and not pretentious. It felt like a place where you could come for a special drink experience without feeling like you had to "perform" or order off a rigid menu. We liked it so much we actually came back a second time during our trip. Highly recommend if you're into well-crafted cocktails, friendly bartenders, and a laid-back but elevated atmosphere.
