Can we talk about this GEM! Seriously we enjoyed this spot immensely. Its small. It's on a corner. Good luck on parking! (Neighbors okay with you street parking) Sat at the counter. Everyone checked on us. Everyone. The vibe and energy was so good. Literally a melting pot if staff and customers. I had the Korean breakfast. He had the steak. They actually seasoned the streak. Everything cooked right there and up front. Owner seemed to know everyone. She made her rounds and helped all over. They mentioned they didn't have GF breads but some of their stuff is naturally Gf. I would love to go back

Excellent service, and cute decor- like stepping back in time with the decor from wallpaper and chandeliers. Love that it's unique. The bulgogi plate was amazing - and the kimchi is top notch. Love how the owners are working wherever they needed to help fill in / they care not only about their staff but also the customer service.

We were enthusiastically greeted when we walked inside and taken to a table immediately. We got water and coffee right after sitting down. Service was top notch. Food brought hot and fresh to the table. We'd ordered several dishes to try, so there was hardly enough room for it on the small table we had, but we figured it out! Everything was delicious and unique. I'm not sure of what the names of the meals were, but we liked everything. For someone who needs low carb options, there were several items I could have. We ended up taking some of it home to eat later, but made a good dent in it. The restaurant isn't huge, but they use all the space. A little cramped, but it kind of adds to the charm. Decor was fun and creative. Everyone was super friendly and efficient.

This is a place that serves your normally American breakfast and a little of Korean dishes. I ate the Bulgogi which was very tasty and the flavors exploded in my mouth. The service was great. They had seat both inside and outside.

Was here January 15. This is the biggest pancake I've ever had in my life and it's not even the biggest size they gave. The apples that it came with were awesome. I also got sausage and fried eggs and also hash browns (forgot to take a picture). The hash browns could use more seasoning even after I added a nice amount of salt and pepper. The eggs and sausage were great. The decor of the restaurant is unique and gives it a nice personal, homey touch. Service was quick and friendly. Solid 5/5.

Home. That's a word I rarely use to describe restaurants but Cameo Cafe is def it. This spot was literally a warm welcome after a quick tour of the Grotto nearby (highly recommend!). I'll jump into about the food in a bit but first! All the staff was extremely friendly and warm-- service is top notch. Beyond that, it really felt like family. Sue herself was there helping people feel welcomed, checking up on customers, and helping her staff all at the same time! Her staff also as well emulated that-- their warm genuineness really permeated the room. On top of that, there was live music that made it come together. Perfect for a family or morning brunch with your date to settle into the day. I ordered the NY steak with eggs and toast. Extremely generous with the portions and tasted great. Get the house toast! It's a must. Plus with the egg yolk with Sue Gee's spicy sauce is *chef's kiss*. Also, I'm typically a salt and pepper steak kinda guy-- but enjoying the steak with a bit of the SG spicy sauce was bomb. Definitely coming back!

What can I say other than...utterly fantastic. We were told that we have to come to the Cameo Cafe because it is a Portland landmark serving Korean American fusion. While I think the Korean American fusion part is a bit overstated (they have Korean food and they have American food, but not many "fused" ideas), my experience here was extraordinary, so much so we came two mornings in a row...even though we had other breakfast obligations. I tried the Hot Link Omelette with hash brown and the Bin-Dae-Dduk. The Hot Link Omelette was good, but I wish the hot links had a little more hot bite to them, but other than within the sausage was spicier, it was delicious. However, I ordered the Bin-Dae-Dduk both times. It was exquisite...and don't tell my mom, but it was better than hers when she makes it. It was perfectly crispy, thin, and flavored! The other wonderful part of the visits was the service. We were cared for wonderfully each time and that alone makes me want to get back there as soon as possible.

What a wonderful breakfast spot! Thisbe place looks like a time capsule from the 80s and I'm here for it. The coffee was hot and fresh. Our server kept it coming the entire meal. Not too strong but still solid. They have half and half on the table. The portion size is large! You could also easily split a meal. They have the standard breakfast food items as well as a few unique Korean additions. I had the kimchi omelette on both my visits. The house sauce on the table provides a great kick on the potatoes. We bought a bottle of it to take home. We also bought the seasoning salt. The jam is also homemade and quite good. It has a little spiced flavor that we couldn't get enough of. The price is fair for what you get but it isn't cheap. Highly recommended for sure!

    Fun things to see, everywhere.

I've driven by the Cameo countless times, but it's always been a bit too far from my home to have made the trip there at meal time. Fortunately my wife paid a visit with friends and decided that she needed to return with me in tow. The menu is mostly breakfast classics, with numerous Korean options adding interest. We tried the Bulgogi Salad, and the Bugogi beef with veggies. Each had the expected Bulgogi flavors, and thankfully came with hot sauce on the side, letting us decide how much heat to add to the mix. Service was amazingly attentive - with staff that appears to be dedicated to ice water and coffee refills, and we got to watch another person visiting all the tables with a basket of packaged jams and jellies, making sure everything was fully stocked. The decorations took me back to the 1980s - fancy wallpaper, plum colored accents, and delightful chandeliers with additional tchochkes gilding the lilly. From the looks of the meals arriving at nearby tables, I'm looking forward to exploring more of the menu, perhaps something involving pancakes...

This will now be my go to breakfast spot. Everything about this place is excellent. The service and food is so amazing. Your coffee cup never goes empty and it tastes great. The Korean American fusion is makes for great flavors. My favorite is the fusion pancake, it's savory and filling. Definitely recommend getting the bacon it is top tier. The whole restaurant feels homey and welcoming. Can't wait to come again.

I've seen a few TikTok's on this place so I decided to give it a try. The decor here reminds me Alice in Wonderland, it's kind of whimsical and weird. The server was great she was fast and friendly. I had a pancake which it was ok 7out of 10. I tried that homemade berry syrup there and I didn't care for it too much 2.5 out of 10. I also got the country fried steak meal and it was overloaded with gravy. The gravy was not very good in my opinion, it was made with water and didn't have a country gravy flavor. The chicken fried steak was weird, I can't really explain exactly what was wrong about it but it it was the flavor and then it didn't seem to have been battered like traditional chicken fried steak. I give the chicken fried steak 2 out of 10. The has browns were good though. The price here was the most expensive breakfast I have ever had. This is just my opinion I still hope that you give this place a try to get your own opinion! Ciao baby

Wake up ! Wake up ! It's 6:30 am . I'm having breakfast , and you're waiting for your "Booji " breakfast spot to open at 8:00 . I'm done and parked in your parking spot at the beach or trailhead. Typical breakfast menu . I had steak and eggs , and it was fantastic . I was the only one there. This breakfast started my day . Why wait ??

How have I been living in Portland and not known that Sandy Jug Tavern is serving up one of the best burgers in town? We swung by on a very busy Christmas Eve and were immediately hit with that perfect, cozy tavern glow. If you haven't been, the vibe is pure "Old Portland"--historic, unpretentious, and effortlessly cool. We managed to snag a spot near the bar, which was the perfect vantage point to watch the holiday chaos while sipping on our Christmas Old Fashioneds. Our trio went all in: a Juicy Lucy, a Chopped Cheese, and a BLT. I tried to play it safe and go the "healthy" route with the BLT--which was fresh and crisp--but the Juicy Lucy absolutely stole the show! As a group of self-proclaimed burger connoisseurs, we were floored. We're talking a thick, hand-pressed patty stuffed with molten American cheese that literally oozes with every bite. PRO TIP: Exercise some holiday restraint and let it sit for a minute so you don't incinerate your tongue on that delicious cheese lava! Not to be outdone, the Chopped Cheese was a gritty, glorious masterpiece--the perfect NYC-style love child of a cheeseburger and a Philly cheesesteak. Between the historic "Jug" setting, the friendly holiday service, and the cheese-stuffed heaven on a plate, our bellies left very, very happy. This isn't just a meal; it's a PDX rite of passage.
