Ragout
Doug K.

Came here for breakfast on a random Wednesday morning. We got a seat right away with plenty of open seats. There were a handful of folks working there but lots of open spots. We got two of their specials that day, which were a Mushroom Ragout and baguette French toast. Both were excellent, flavorful, and unique! They also have lots of diner staples and overall quite a large menu! It's a warm cozy vibe inside with a fireplace and diner-vibes with a big Cadillac inside! Pricing was reasonable for the portion size. A great spot to check out for class diner breakfast.

Smoked Salmon Hash

Delicious and filling brunch! Really enjoyed my Smoked Salmon Hash. Portion was super generous with potatoes, butternut squash, and lots of big smoked salmon pieces. Loved the addition of grilled leeks in there as well, great balance of sweet and savory. Their English Muffin was also very well-toasted and paired well with the marionberry jam. Got to try a bite of the French Toast and that was also tasty! Loved how custardy but not soggy it was. Their menu is diverse and overall well-executed. Service was nice. Pretty relaxed on a Sunday, surprisingly. The retro vibe waa fun and charming. Prices are steep though for brunches in town.

Ribeye special with egg whites

Stepped in for brunch today and had the ribeye special. This place is consistently delicious. I love the food here, I love the atmosphere, the staff is amazing. If you are looking for a great breakfast place this is your destination!

Cadillac inside the restaurant

Amazing food. I really wish I discovered this place before. My dad and I came in here and got some brunch. I had ordered the catfish with greens, cheese grits and scrambled eggs and my dad got the eggs benedict. The customer service was good and I really did like the whole setup they had. They have a Cadillac on display inside the restaurant I thought that was pretty cool. I would definitely come back again.

Love this little person and she enjoyed this place also!

I have personally visited this place quite a few times and it doesn't get old at all. The menu is very well balanced with every detailed in mind so you can find something of your liking. My personal favorite every time is the Cadillac Benedict super delicious The service is on point every time since the time you get it. The atmosphere is so cozy and family oriented. While you there don't forget the classic pic with the actual Cadi car is in the premises! If you're in the area and/or passing by checked them out! SYOY

Beanies with stunners as the decor

Attentive staff, immediately seated. Great coffee choices and extensive menu. Bright with large windows. Nice ambiance music not too loud, but yes I Danced. When finishing our meal, paying the bill, I mentioned it's my nephew's birthday brunch . Our server surprised us with a birthday sundae! Will definitely return

When you cannot wait 45 minutes to an hour and a half for the popular spots, you need to know about this option. I've been here several times and waited less than one minute at the door entrance. They have a good selection of cocktails and coffee creations as well as many delicious brunch items. The service is fast. The staff is very appreciated at this fun classic joint.

French Custard Toast

Since my last visit they never let me down. The food quality is absolutely delicious and full of flavor. I really enjoy this restaurant and the staff are always very welcoming and kind. They go above and beyond and are attentive while you enjoy your meal. Jennifer really made the experience perfect and I look forward to seeing everyone again. There is plenty of seating and the wait for your meal is not long. They are fast and quick and the portions are well worth the price point. I love the environment and how there are multiple seating options available, which range from tables, booths and to outdoor seating or the bar. Definitely recommend this place to anyone wanting quality breakfast food and excellent service. Can't wait to go back!

Marionberry Mimosa

Old school diners bring joy to my heart. This was another recommendation from a friend. To be honest, I've never been a fan of the car brand. Not that it's too related because I was here for food...But I will say that I appreciate the decor. If the goal is to bring people back into the past, then I think mission accomplished. Service was cool too. I learned a fun fact from my waitress. "All Marionberries are Blackberries but not all Blackberries are Marionberries." I don't really eat Blackberries on the regular but from what I'm told, they are sweeter and have more zing to them. I love sweet complexities. So if you love Mimosas, you definitely gotta check out the Marionberry Mimosa. The Chicken Fried Steak was super tasty too. I loved the gravy and I appreciated how crispy the steak was. Like most diners you get a ton of food for your money. I could be wrong but I think my meal came with Toast back you can substitute for French Toast too?!? It was at this point in the trip where I was really starting to get hype. Is all the food in Portland this good? Cadillac Cafe was the beginning to an amazing Portland food journey.

Smoked Salmon Hash Breakfast

Delicious breakfast, fun ambiance, and great service. What more could you ask for?! We just had a great breakfast at Cadillac Cafe. Cecil was our waiter and was awesome. Everything was yummy, and I really liked the flavor of the iced tea. It was kid friendly and a fun atmosphere! I would definitely come back next time I am in Portland.

We brought our grandson here before a show. The restaurant is close to the Memorial Coliseum/MODA Center so it was convenient for us to have a nice breakfast. That's exactly what we had. We had the pecan crusted French Toast, omelette, pancakes and fruit with a scrambled egg. Everything was delicious, fresh and warm. The restaurant itself is clean and nicely decorated. Our waitress was attentive.

Great Mixed Grill Omelette Breakfast

Having breakfast in Portland with an old friend, and he chose Cadillac Café on Broadway. This place brought back memories, as it was my old stomping grounds as a kid. I was delighted to learn that Cadillac Café has been a staple this neighborhood since 1989. The first thing that strikes you when you walk in is the great brand aesthetics and the cool vintage Cadillac on display. The staff quickly greeted us with coffee and menus, giving us plenty of time to catch up. Their breakfast selection is extensive, featuring big selection of omelettes, various breakfast platters, Benedicts, a mouth watering array of pancakes, and even a Monte Cristo offering. The combination of great food, friendly service, and a nostalgic atmosphere made for a perfect start to the day. Highly recommend!

We tried this place on a weekend for brunch. I really love the ambiance of this cafe, however, the service and food were very average. We ordered cappuccinos and they were out of oat milk, and the almond milk wasn't that great with coffee. We tried their banana bread which was really delicious. We ordered omlettes and egg benedict and both of them were very average. They should definitely work on their service because it's very delayed even though we see lot of people around. There was confusion in order because one person came to take order and she leaves and the second person comes in, it was very chaotic just to order. Overall, a decent place to try. The price was decent. Overall, I wouldn't be interested in going to this place again.

Ask the Community - Cadillac Cafe

Is there parking close?

Yes- plenty of on street parking.

Do they take reservations?

I don't believe so. But, they have a fairly large space and are real pro's and get people in and out (without you feeling rushed.) So the wait time shouldn't be too bad unless you hit it at a peak time.

Does Cadillac Cafe have Wifi?

Yes! Come see us!

Is there parking available?

Street parking is usually available on weekdays, you might have to cruise around in the evenings or weekends. No lot for restaurant.

Our server was very helpful in making my decision of the menu. Korean Mix plate was recomended as it was a top seller. I overall enjoyed the meal the portions were huge! So defintely come hungry or prepared for left overs. I will say the Chicken wasn't my favorite. It was bad but didn't wow me. The Kalbi (short ribs) were really tasting and very tender. If you like Garlic the korean style food is for you. Pupu Platter: It's a sampler platter is a great way to try a couple things. The Mochicko Chicken was pretty good. Never had it in strips but overall tasted good. The Kalua Pig Egg Rolls were not my favorite. I foudn the Kalua pig very bland. Hamburger Steak: This was pretty good. The gravy was on point and who doesn't love grilled onions? The only thing I had about the burgers was they were a little tough and a little over cooked. made it a bit like bricks.

They were clearly very busy, as these drinks take a bit more preparation than a pour and go. It is really fun to watch them make the drinks. They went out of their way to check in with me on something which was very appreciated. The shop is located on NE 28th, a very happening part of town. They don't have big signs out front so it might be easy to miss. It's a small store with 3-4 tables and a small couch. Their menu selection is small, but each drink is well curated and delicious. Yunomi offers a small work area with 3 tables and a countertop space, but if those tables are taken you are out of luck :(. So far, I have tried their banana hojicha, black sesame hojicha, double matcha, jasmine matcha, and oolong matcha. Of all the drinks, I recommend getting the double matcha- creamy, not too sweet, perfect taste of matcha in one drink. Yes, the cups are small, but for me the quality overrides the size (plus I am a sipper not a chugger so it works out). I'm not sure why Yunomi doesn't have the crowd or the rush as some other matcha places in the PDX area have, but I am not complaining because that means more delicious matcha and good street parking spots for me! Highly recommend visiting Yunomi for a sweet treat if you are in the area!
