I used these guys for years and was always pleased with their work and fair price. I had a recent poor experience. We had a kitchen faucet with the pull down hose with head that allows both flow and sprinkler setting. Over time the pressure diminished to the point it didn't have enough flow to even use the sprinkler option. We had reddi send out a guy to repair it as well as some other minor repairs not part of the kitchen. He came out. Unscrewed the head. Said the flow is fine. It's the head. He opened the head and showed me a screen the had some deposits on it. He says this is your problem the screen needs to be replaced. Then he tells me just go to Ace and get the part and do it myself. If that doesn't fix the problem buy a new faucet and Reddi would be happy to install it. I was not pleased. Fast forward to last week (Reddi was 4 months ago). I wanted a second opinion before replacing a 6 year old faucet. The plumber comes out and I tell him about my previous experience and the plumber suggested to replace the faucet. He first said that the faucet was too nice (expensive) to have to be replaced. He took the head off and saw the poor flow. He then went under the sink and worked on the input to the hose. 10 minutes later worked like new. No screen needing to be installed by me. No buy a new faucet. Unfortunately I have to post this because I was unable to work out a positive resolution with the business. On Sunday called Reddit Rooter based on all the positive reviews here to clear a toilet clog. I didn't call the big companies because I wanted to support local small businesses. A long story short, the tech was unable to clear it through the outside cleanout. I was told to call a different company and I was charged $91 for the service. I was back to square one at this point and $91 out. I found another local company also on Yelp and the tech came out within the hour and was able to clear the clog in less than 10 min. of arrival through the SAME outside service cleanout that Raddi Rooter tried without success. I tried to work out with the owner of Reddi Rooter to reduce the $91 fee because I feel the fee is high for not able to resolve the issue that another company was able to. I am not saying they should not charge me at all, but $91 is high when I was left to call another company to do the work. Sadly, they would not budge on the fee. read more

A nice local mom and pop business that answers the phone and sends the company owner. Two days before New Year we had a different company come out to unclog one toilet at the far side of the house. All they did was shove the clog further down the line, and on New Years Eve it took out every fixture in our house full of guests. We called Reddi Rooter on New Year's Day and the owner's wife picked up the phone and set an appointment for later that morning. The owner came a few hours later, snaked the entire house all the way to the street with a cutting blade and cleared the clog for good. Wonderful experience here. Called in for quote on 10/26/2020 (Sunday) 10am when most plumbers are closed. One of the owners (Leslie) answered and was nice, friendly and gave me a reasonable quote. Made some small talk with her about life and then Told me the fixed cost for keeping service under an hour and in rare cases it may go over an hour. Conrad (or Conner) Showed up about 2 hours later and he was nice and professional. He had to check/clear a sewer clog by removing our downstairs toilet because we could not find the outside pipe to the sewer. He fixed the issue and didnt mind me hovering over him and telling him how "I could do it but I dont wanna" =) Great experience - will use again. They have an after hours operator that can schedule next day service, which is a great relief as most of my problems seem to happen late at night! I called to have an outside faucet replaced and was told that Dan would be here at 12:00; at 12:30 no call and no Dan, then told it would be between 12 and 1:00. At 12:45 they called and said that Dan would be here in on half hour at 1:40 still no call and no Dan so I called and was told that that was what they were told, and they had no control over the timing. I find this reprehensible for a company and do not understand why they have no control or initial contact with their employees. I would not recommend this company to anyone as they apparently have no control of employees or concern for clients. TOTALLY UNRELIABLE. read more

Over the course of his visits he has snaked out the sewer, replaced garbage disposals as well as kitchen and bathroom faucets, replaced toilets and installed a hand held shower head. Dan can do anything. He is an exceptional plumber who can find solutions for anything a home owner can present him with. He has a relaxed disposition and has never appeared stressed by any project he is presented with. Then we worked and worked. I helped with emotional support and towels. After 2.5 hours the clog finally went down. Some guys might have quit and come Back the next day. We called around a variety of larger shops and got the standard response of " we can see you next week, and oh by the way, we can can commit to a time of between 08:00am and 3pm..." Ummmm, no thanks. So we ended up with Reddi Rooter, nice enough, turned up within 30 mins of scheduled time to fix a plumbing issue that has plagued us for months.... Two guys turned up, the owner of the business was the lead technician and resolved the issue . His assistant however, was not the sort you want to meet down a dark alley ... tattoos to the hilt, pierced ears (all fine by me), EXCEPT the smell was unbearable; he reeked of cigarette smoke and or alcohol... . You know the sort, breathing heavily, poor hygiene and just left a very bad smell in our home after he left. It is on that note that if you book with these guys, (the lead tech's wife answers the phone to schedule), I would insist that the assistant either cleans himself up and takes a good long hot shower before turning up, or ask that he stay outside your home!!! Week of February 11, 2019. This is my second review for Reddi Rooter. Dan and Derek have both been to my Pleasant Hill residence on multiple occasions over the years to clear my old terracotta sewer lines. They have also repaired my water main when broken by a heavy truck, as well as replacing the water service valve and installing a pressure reducer on my residence. Several months ago, they installed a water heater I had procured to replace the old 1960s era water heater that finally failed. All the work was done in a professional manner by Derek, and Reddi Rooter's price is always fair. A few days ago, I swapped out my electric stovetop for a new gas stovetop. I hired Reddi Rooter to run the gas line to my new install. Dan was on time. He crawled under the house and hooked things up. I paid Dan, and he departed. By the way... At the time Dan was here, the crawl area was dry. But, Things were about to get dicey. The next morning my sewer was backed up all over the front lawn. Time to call Redi Rooter to get Derek out. The same morning, my wife detected a hint of a gas odor in the kitchen. After Derek finished clearing my sewer, I asked him to check the gas line for a leak. He did, and he found nothing. I paid Derek for the sewer work and he was on his way. Later that that afternoon, I called PG&E to check the stovetop for a bad valve. They came out. They could not detect a fault with the stovetop. So, PG&E ran a pressure test on the gas service. They detected a minor gas leak. PG&E shut the gas off. I called Dan's office and they dispatched him out to look for the leak. Now, keep in mind that the torrential rains were now pounding the Bay Area. On Monday when Dan hooked up the gas, the crawl area was dry. Tuesday night, because the soil was now saturated, my crawl space was beginning to have standing water. This had never happened before. Dan came out and even though the crawl area was muddy and wet, Dan went under then reemerged a muddy mess. The fitting he had installed was defective. A new fitting was not to be had that time at night. It was near 8:00 P.M. Dan and I discussed strategy and we decided that he cap the line to the stovetop and restore the gas to the rest of the house so we would have heat and hot water. Dan's plan was to return the following day with a fresh fitting to. Dan called me the following day told me that he was to running late but he would be here. He explained he was committed to other clients. He assured me that he would be out, and after a 12 hour day, he was on my front porch at the door. This time, Dan was dressed in shoes, shirt, and bathing trunks. He was ready for action! He crawled under the house and he replaced the fitting. When Dan emerged, he was a total mess. He endured it all while keeping a pleasant demeanor. Having been in the trades myself, I know this kind of job is a royal pain and extremely frustrating. My heart and respect go out to Dan. He stepped up when lesser companies would have made excuses or would have blown off the unpleasant task of making things work. Just when I thought companies no longer excelled at customer service, Dan proved me wrong. Dan worked in horrid conditions in some of the foulest weather we have endured in the Bay Area for quite a while. He kept an amicable demeanor and he is the quintessential professional. Dan departed, after making sure there were no gas pressure leaks under the house and via readings at the meter. And, on top of it all... Dan did all the extra work under warranty and under guarantee without charging any additional fees as other lesser companies would. Old school work ethic and customer service! Thanks, Dan! Within minutes of my call, I received a return call from Derek, who referred me to a remediation company to first clean up the sewage, ARC Water Damage (they were great too!), before he could check out the problem. That night I called Reddi Rooter back to let them know that ARC would be done before 2 the next day. They immediately scheduled Derek to return to my home the next day at 2. Have been dealing with this company for 20 years or more. When I called on Saturday 12/29 saying I was a long-term customer, and my sewer line seemed to be backing up, tub wasn't draining, and toilet was leaking, the response I got was a cavalier and totally-unapologetic "We won't have anyone available until Tuesday." (1/1/19) Well, gee, thanks. Today two gents came out from another company, which has almost 400 5-star Yelp reviews. They were right on time (at the beginning of my appointment window!) got the sewer line cleaned out, gave me a photo of a sewer clean-out issue, and gave me some great maintenance advice. And told me that they couldn't snake out the tub (which now drains at an improved post-clean-out 80%), because the mechanism in the overflow (forget the name) had been bent backwards and broken. That was the work, last year, of Chuck from Reddi Rooter. The mechanism will have to be replaced, which will take 2-3 hours and cost me $500-700. Chuck's a very sweet man, but he's plumbing challenged. Reddi Rooter, you have lost a 2-decades-duration loyal customer, who will now warn people against using using you, via Nextdoor. Derek always did a great job of cleaning out the sewer line for me. Chuck, not so much. Plus the attitude you displayed when I called you a couple of days ago belongs in a sewer line. They were by far the most affordable company out of the top companies in the area and made short work of our clogged waste line in the house. I have an old house that has its fair share of defects and issues. I have old terracotta sewer pipes, which the local tree roots love. Subsequently, I need the lines cleared at least once a year - but more often, twice a year. I have used Reddi Rooter for well over a decade to do this work. Their response times are usually same day, while their fees are very reasonable. Two years ago, we decided to have a pressure reducer put in-line where the water enters the house. After regularly replacing clothes washer machines due to burst gaskets from the pressure and other plumbing fixtures ruined by the excessive pressure, I hired Reddi-Rooter to do the job. Dan came out on this job to assist his man. As it turns out, the plumbing in my house is a conglomeration of galvanized, copper and plastic pipe, cobbled together in metric and standard sizes, using anything from bailing wire, Testor's model glue, or duct-tape to hold it all together. I'm of the opinion that the old guy who built this place from '53-'57 probably imbibed a bit, by the looks of his work that I inherited when I bought this place years ago. But, I digress... Dan and crew got the pressure reducer installed along with a new gate valve. No longer does my shower induce bleeding as it's been transformed from power washer strength, to gentle shower strength. My family is very happy now. Fast forward to this weeks disaster. Last week the neighbors began knocking on the door to inform me I had water emanating up by the curb. Not a good thing, as this leak was about 200' from house to street. The leak was several feet, my side in, from the meter box. So, I knew EBMUD would heartily laugh as me if I asked them who's responsibility the repair would be. I knew the answer. My side of the meter, my problem. We suspected from the past pressure reducer installation that my water pipe could be a combination of different lengths of galvanized pipe spliced to plastic pipe. Within several hours of my phone call to Reddi-Rooter, Derek came out Sunday afternoon to look things over. He told me that it would be best to bring Dan out to get Dan's opinion. Derek said, "Water's on. Let's not mess with it to make it worse making it necessary to turn it off. That would be a big inconvenience to you." So, Dan and Derek came out today, a holiday, to look things over. Dan and I talked, he gave me a worse case scenario, and I liked his numbers. So, I told him to "Go For It!" It turns out my pipe is not all plastic from the house to the street. But, mostly plastic, with the last short length up by the meter box consisting of a nastily badly cobbled together splice to newer plastic pipe. Derek and Dan removed the last 3' section of old rusted and cracked galvanized, replacing it with new fittings and plastic, repairing the leak. Work done in about two hours and under Dan's estimate. I didn't even get hammered for an emergency service fee for the holiday! My wife is happy, I am happy, and I am happy to resoundingly recommend Reddi-Rooter to my family and friends. As a small business owner myself, I know Reddi-Rooter uses the same business model that I do. Take care of your customer and they will call you back. Reddi Rooter came by to clean out a clogged shower. The technician came out, spent 5 minutes cleaning out the catcher in the shower drain then charged over $100 for the job. He refused to snake the shower drain and a few weeks later the problem reoccurred. I would recommend using another company like CC Sewer and Drain or anyone else if possible. The receptionist was good and the technician came out quickly hence the 2 star rating. However the were unable to fix a problem that reoccurred shortly after they "fixed it". read more

They referred me to a company two months earlier for a complete sewer line. Their referral saved me about half of what other companies was going to charge. I called Reddi Rooter to fix a clogged sink. They were very quick to come out which was a plus (especially since another plumber I contacted more than 3 times NEVER called back). The service call was on the pricey side. (For the price they charged, I would have expected at least shoe covers for the repair guy. Just saying.) There also seemed to be a little bit of lack of communication between the repair guy and whoever dispatched him. Once he was finished with the job, he asked what I'd been quoted over the phone. I guess he wasn't told? There's a coupon you can print out from the website that can help bring the price down a little bit. You would be so grateful as I was to have Dan Thompson, Reddi Rooter's owner and plumber, take care of what ails your home plumbing. A plumber since 1973, Dan is an honest hardworking old school plumber. He knows way more than most plumbers today with their corporate logo polo shirts and paper booties. Dan won't try to sell you on getting some fancy camera photos of your plumbing or $10,000 repiping. He goes under the house and fixes it. And it stays fixed. We've had sooo many plumbers and so many disappointments over the past 30 years we've been in our home. Hooray for Dan. The sewage backups are finally over. He also fixed our wonky running toilets and they have stayed fixed which is more than I can say for Letts, CoCoCo and all the others we've paid to fix our toilets. I dig honesty and integrity and believe what goes around comes around. They fixed the problem so we thought. But within 24hrs, plumbing was acting up again. My in-laws recently moved into a remodeled home and master bath toilet wouldn't flush. Plunger didn't work. So I called Reddi Rooter based off of their Yelp reviews and they were close. Sure enough they came out within an hour and figured out the problem right away. The person they sent out was very professional and courteous through the whole process. I hate to give any business 1-star, but I couldn't justify anything better. I had a clogged sewer line and several neighbors all recommended a local guy named "John". I called "John", but he said he's not doing roof clean-outs anymore and recommended Reddi Rooter. Given how highly-recommended "John" came, I figured Reddi Rooter must be pretty good. I called and the receptionist was really nice. My clogged line wasn't an emergency (it drained slowly), so I scheduled the job for a few days later. Because they would have to use the clean-out line on the roof, the job would require two guys (OSHA rules) and cost an extra, one-time fee. There would be an extra fee for snaking more than 100 ft, if needed. Despite having two guys on the job, I would be charged an hourly rate for just one guy. I was also told these things rarely take more than 1 hour. On the day of the job, one plumber showed up ~30 minutes late and said his co-worker had called out sick so they wouldn't be able to do the job today. He then spent the next 30-minutes looking for a ground-based sewer clean-out after already having told them one doesn't exist. (The lack of shoe covers noted by another Yelper was also part of our experience.) We re-scheduled for the late-afternoon the next day. The team of two plumbers arrived for the job the next day, 45 minutes late. They did their job and the line was cleared... for 10 minutes. As they were loading their equipment into their trucks I told them the line is clogged again. They went back to work and cleaned it out. All in all, this took about 1 hour and 45 minutes. After they packed up and were ready to leave, one plumber tells me that because the job was more challenging than they had anticipated, they were going to change how they would bill me. Rather than the previous, over-the-phone quote I received (hourly rate for 1 plumber, extra fee for going up on the roof, etc), they were going to bill me at their time-and-material rate. This meant I was paying for each plumber's time that was onsite. It was explained to me that this was in part b/c one of the plumbers still had three other jobs to do and I had to compensate him for the time he spent at my house. The total bill (which, by the way, was not even itemized - just shows a total dollar figure) ended up being more expensive than what one would've expected based on the initial quote I was provided over the phone. After speaking with some neighbors who felt I had been treated less than fair, they encouraged me to call the owner of the business. So a few days later I did so. The nice receptionist said she'd have the owner call me back. A few hours later, I received a call from the owner. I happened to be at the airport about to board a plane, but I explained most of my experience with her and it was clear that she was becoming defensive. To be clear, my issue wasn't necessarily the cost of the job, rather the fact that after the job was done, they told me they were going to bill me by a completely different method than the one they explained to me when I made the decision to use them, and that this new method was less favorable. During the conversation, the owner asked if she could call me back. I told her I was about to board a plane, so she asked me to call he back when I was free. I told her her that her number came up as "unknown" on my phone, so I asked her to send me a text with a direct number where I could reach her. It's been five days since my conversation with the owner and I have still not heard from her, and I don't expect to either. Again, I feel bad giving a family-owned business 1-star. I feel especially bad given they don't have many reviews and those they do have are not endearing. However after my experience with the owner I've come to realize that the challenges I experienced with Reddi Rooter are indicative of the business's culture, which is disappointing and hence the rationalization for the single star. I proactively choose local, family-owned business when I am looking for similar services because I want to support my community, but this hasn't been a fond one. I hope that others are able to learn from my experience. read more

Unfortunately it happened again this week and Chuck came out, fixed it quickly, explained why it might have happened again(the way the pipes run through the house) and explained how to help prevent it. What began as a small drip in my shower turned into a broken shower wall and a broken diverter. On the first visit, it was determined that the entire stem would need to be replaced for both the hot and cold handles to resolve the drip. The diverter was never an issue, but since there are 3 handles in the shower it was decided that they would all be replaced with new parts. From the moment that the handles were replaced, the diverter quit working properly. I could go into detail, and provide dates but the bottom line is this....6 visits, and over $500 later the diverter was still not working properly and I now had a chrome plate in my shower to cover up the shower wall Chuck had broken on one of his attempts to repair the diverter. I had made repeated requests to the ladies in the office to speak with the owner / manager, and had requested they consider sending someone other than Chuck to resolve the ongoing diverter issue. NO LUCK!!!! This was causing an inconvenience on myself, and fellow homeowners having this issue go on for as long as it did. Finally, after the 6th visit, and diverter still failing I called in a different plumbing company. They charged me $150.00 to assess the situation. It was determined that the piece inside the wall that the diverter sits into was damaged and the entire unit inside the wall needed to be replaced. I then schedule the work and paid $1100 to have the diverter issue resolved for good. Chuck damaged my shower and this company had several chances to correct the situation. I made a couple of requests for a refund of my $500.00. I have yet to hear a response..... I WILL NEVER USE THIS COMPANY AGAIN AND SUGGEST YOU ALL BEWARE! read more

I called 13 other plumbers on here Friday night. Only one other got back to me, but wanted to charge $59 just to show up, during a 4 hour window. Reddi Rooter gave me an hour window. He called right when they said he would, and showed up 15 minutes later. Cleared my problem up in just a few minutes. It cost right around $140 to unclog my kitchen sink, which is right where I was expecting (actually, it was a bit cheaper than I was expecting). I think the only faster or cheaper alternative would be for me to have the snake and clear it myself, and I'm not that handy. read more

This is the place to go for your local concord plumbing needs and drain cleaning. Ask for Chuck. Last time he cleaned the drain, he ran the machine twice through to make sure it was clear. A friend tried to fix a leaking bathroom connection with no success. At 3:00 pm, I called Reddi Rooter and Chuck came out within an hour. Chuck fixed the problem in less than 1 hour at a reasonable price as can be for professional plumbers. They give a 10% discount for folks over 55 and for Angie's list members.
