I had an extremely disappointing experience at this Red Wing Boots location, largely due to the manager, Christina. From the moment I asked about certain boots, her attitude was condescending and dismissive. She made me feel as though I couldn't afford the boots I was interested in, as if pulling them for me was a waste of her time. No customer should ever be made to feel that way. It was also very clear she was in a rush to close the store before posted closing hours, which showed in how abruptly she interacted with me. On top of that, she was openly rude and disrespectful to her own staff in front of customers, which was uncomfortable and unprofessional to witness. When I asked questions about different boot options, her responses felt rushed, annoyed, and borderline insulting. That said, I want to give credit where it's due. Hector, one of the sales associates, was the complete opposite. When I returned to pick up my boots from cleaning, he treated me like family--professional, patient, and genuinely appreciative of my business. He's the only reason I returned and ended up purchasing additional sweaters. His customer service was exactly what you'd expect from a brand like Red Wing. Unfortunately, poor management overshadows good employees. If Christina is more focused on hitting sales numbers than treating existing customers with basic respect, that may explain why those numbers aren't being met. I won't be returning to this location because of her behavior--but I hope Hector gets the recognition he deserves. read more

I'd give zero stars if I could, brought my boots in for a cleaning on a Monday and got them back on Saturday. Pretty much had my boots all week & I got them back looking exactly the same with conditioner caked on them. I called them Friday and they said they just got "washed" and they needed conditioning and would be ready Saturday. As expensive as red wing is you'd think that they'd show some quality & care for their customers. read more

Stopped by to purchase my boyfriend some work boots because the set he has are two years old and although they're still good they look like they've been run over by a train. But aside from how they look These boots are so durable and the quality is so good.. totally worth the price! Overall good experience, just one incident that had occurred. Had to buy some steel toe boots through my work with a boot voucher. I made it clear I only had $150 that my work was paying for, and at the time I didn't have the extra money to spend on more expensive boots. Female understood that, so I Did the foot scan as well and thought it was cool. I pick out my boots that were as close as $150. She then says I'm gonna thrown in some insoles for you, I'm very grateful, THINKING THEY'RE FREE. They definitely weren't, they were $60 and I asked to remove them from my bill and she refused saying I needed them but also refused saying I'll thrown them in for you. So I paid for them just cuz they were closing soon and probably won't come back for red wings. read more

Saw all the negative reviews and went to this store anyway because it's closest to me. It was unexpectedly busy for a Tuesday afternoon, so I had to wait my turn. No problem. There were two staff on hand, one lady and one fella. I listened to them help the folks before me, and they were very attentive and informative, never rushing the customers. They focused on finding out the customers' jobs so that they could point out appropriate shoes, and were sure to have them go through the foot scanner. (Very cool tool by the way -- it takes a 3D scan of your foot and measures your arches, width, etc., then compares them against the wider male/female population. It's free and quick, worth doing even if you're not planning to purchase Red Wings. Taught me a lot of things I'd never noticed about my own feet.) When it was my turn, the fella was patient with all my questions and concerns about finding a good fit for my weirdly sized feet. He let me stew in a couple pairs of boots and walk around in them to my heart's content, no pressure. He was also very helpful about offering strategies to help with the break-in process (these being heritage style Iron Rangers, infamous for being a tough break-in). I didn't walk in intending to purchase anything, but I was so comfortable with the experience of being there and loved the boots so much that I ended up literally walking out with a pair. Overall, I had a great experience. The staff had a friendly but attentive vibe, and I would have no hesitation going back if I needed to. read more

Service was terrible. From the phone call in store I'm not sure why I even went. Well because I wanted boots but I should've just gone somewhere else after the phone call i made to the lady. I refuse to pay 300 for a pair of boots when the lady treats you like you are there to clean up after her or you are there bothering her. Christina & Jose were very quick to greet me and offer assistance. I came in with a work voucher and she was accommodating and showed me what was available in store and online. She let me take my time to try on and did the foot analysis to recommend some inserts. Did NOT pressure me to buy them nor to make a decision. I finally decided on a pair and made the purchase. This is my go to Red Wing Store. I used to go to the one in Norwalk however after the exceptional service I received I will be bringing my business to this one. Christina was extremely thorough and patient in helping me find my true shoe size. We spent well over an hour trying on different shoes, sizes, styles and fits and she was jovial and friendly the entire time. She is very well educated on not only the inventory this particular store carries but also on the different brands. She made the process fun and stress free. She found me the shoe style that best suits my specific needs and ordered it for delivery to store. She knows how the shoe vouchers work so that was definitely a plus. She even graciously gave me some tips so I would get the most bang for the buck. I received a prompt and friendly phone call from Jose when my boots arrived. Even the pick up process was fun! Christina educated me on how to best care for my boots and showed me which products work best. She even told me about the free monthly boot maintenance they offer. I understand the whole covid-19 going on right now but there is absolutely no excuse for terrible customer service if you you work in retail and don't know the product you're selling at least offer advice on where to get information not just make the customer feel stupid this is was a horrible experience considering I had to wait outside for 15 minutes before I could even go inside and the girl inside made me feel like I had to rush and didn't have any interest in answering my questions I will drive to another Red Wing location and NEVER return to this one! PS I have one recommendation if you are going to go to the store know exactly what you want immediately have your credit card ready and don't ask any questions and you should be fine and make sure you have a hazmat suit on because they are extremely to the book with the rules which that part is understandable ! read more

Honestly the worst customer service at this Red Wing Shoe Store , the one in Norwalk is no better. I came in to exchange a size on some boots I purchased. Both of the workers are looking at the boots like I had worn them before, which I'd never have. So they start questioning me asking why I return/exchange my boots. He said in the system it shows I had exchanged boots in 2015. Like really 2015? Years ago! I've bought plenty of boots ,some as gifts. Why question me? We walked into this particular Red Wing store for the first time and was disappointed. There was 3 employees standing and talking to each other when one of the employees finally asked if we needed assistance. I showed the employee a picture of the boot I was looking for. He said we don't carry them and he doesn't know anything about them. He said he can order them but it will take 2 weeks to get them. I think It was his "I can't believe I have to help someone" attitude that turned us off. He checked the other Red Wing stores to see who carried them and was nice enough to print out the locations. He handed us the print out and said I don't even know the hours of the other locations so I can't help you. Upon entering we received a snobbish hello from both the man and lady working the store. I showed a picture of the boots I was looking for only to get a rude, yeah we don't carry those. I asked about another pair on display and got a response of, those are steel toe and aren't the same, as if I wasn't aware of that. Accompanied my partner to the store on Sunday to purchase boots for work. He works for a national company that issues POs to pay for the boots. He found a great pair of boots that fit perfectly. However, when he went to the counter to finalize his purchase, the two young ladies at the register were unable to help him because he "needs a paper voucher" so that they can process his purchase. In all fairness, one of the young ladies did make a phone call to verify this was indeed correct. My partner asked if he could put the boots on hold and he would pick them the following day (Monday). Monday rolls around and my partner makes another attempt to purchase the boots. He has verified the information he needs to provide to Red Wing with his work company. He has also called Red Wing corporate to verify and was assured that he had the information he needed to complete the purchase. When he arrives at the store, the manager explains that he cannot take the information provided and, because it is after hours, he is unable to call corporate to verify the information. My partner leaves his card with the manager and the manager, in turn, assures my partner that he will call Red Wing corporate's national number to verify and get back to him. Well, it is now Tuesday and my partner never received a call from the manager. So, my partner calls the store to see if he can go pick up the boots. The store manager tells my partner that he cannot accept his PO because there is no assurance that he will get paid. He tells my partner to, get this, try another Red Wing store. WTF? What a joke. This place is an absolute JOKE. My husband (Edison Worker) has spent HUNDREDS of dollars here because the boots are amazing quality. The employees here are HORRIBLE and have the most disgusting attitudes I have ever encountered in any retail store. Particularly the young lady with red hair who works the front desk (Shes always there). I recently found out that she's family related to the owner therefore she has this entitled attitude and thinks shes running the show. What a shame, she represents the Red Wing Company. She has given me and husband attitude every time we've come in. I even went the extra mile to complain to corporate MONTHS AGO but apparently shes STILL WORKING THERE even after the bad reviews. Its obvious from other yelp reviews, that SHE IS A PROBLEM. I definitely recommend this place be under a different management. Until something is done about this employee my husband and I will not be spending money here and will drive the distance to another location with better custom service. I have also stopped recommending this location to friends and family. In the long run, this place will lose alot of business because of horrible custom service. read more

My husband normally buys his work boots from Red Wing. The workers who helped us at this particular store were okay. Parking is plenty at this plaza. We recently bought a pair of expensive work boots thinking it would withstand all the beating his industrial job goes through, but he came home with a 1-inch tear on the leather of the steel toe area within less of a month from purchase. Ridiculous for a $$$ boot. Either the quality of Red Wing has gotten lower or we got a bad shoe. He had no choice but to add an epoxy layer to his boots to protect the leather from tearing more. It cost us even more money and now the boots don't look as nice, but whatever. Having lifetime cleanings is always a plus when owning Red Wing shoes. Not sure if we will be purchasing from Red Wing again. It's a shame because my husband has been a loyal customer for so many years and owned many boots that held up much longer than these new ones. read more

Staff welcomed me in, asked how they can help, Asked me to stand on their feet measuring computer so that I'd get an accurate measurement. I took my boots for free cleaning and polish and they looked like all they did was take dirt off nothing else. Very disappointed with this location. Came here because its walking distance from my house. Yeah they put new laces but no polish and nothing to make me want to return. Idk how you can be a boot store an not stock all the sizes an make people wait because they're on a back order. They answered all my questions and gave me very good knowledge and features of the shoes i was interested in!
