Thought this place was kinda cool. But after the 30 mile drive to have to come back because the sales associate didn't take off the sensor tag. For the $15 dollars in gas I had to use to get back and get it removed the manager Yolanda was only able to offer me 5% discount for their fault in causing me an inconvenience... note that's $2.50-$3 off a pair of shoes for the $15 in gas I had to use to get back here. That's not even enough to cover taxes.... I'm sorry but that's not right. Originally liked this store due to the size of the selection. However customer service was really poor. Appeared to have 3 employees clustered together doing slippers while I was forced to wait for someone to help get some shoes in the back. There were maybe 4 other customers in the store but the employees remained clustered and not manning the floor. The employees seemed to be young and inexperienced. Worst customer service experience in my life. My wife and I went to buy some tennis shoes. After looking around, I saw Hoka brand, though pricey I tried them on and WOW ! Most comfortable tennis shoes I ever tried. Wore them twice when the right shoe began hurting on the right side of my foot. Bought the wife a pair took some Nikes(my fav) spent 407.89 on three pairs of shoes. Couldn't find the darn receipt. The Iliana says to me, print your bank statement, bring it back, and I'll refund you the money. $154.34 Then I'm told by Vanessa I now have to call customer service, which they don't answer, left a message called twice more as I was in the store thinking we could resolve this quickly. NOT SO MUCH. Rafael calls me back and says they will exchange only in store as I have no receipt and I had worn them. When I asked for his supervisor, I was told he was it, that's it, take it or leave it, and hung up. Typically, we get around three to four pairs each year. $ 600.00 plus to this chain. Not anymore ! Shoes were possibly counterfeit and no one seemed concerned!!! I bought a pair of Converse for my son in August. One of the shoes completely fell apart 45 days later. Shoe City would not take a return over 30 days so I mailed to shoes directly to the manufacturer, Nike. I followed the instructions exactly from the Converse website. Converse mailed me back a letter, picture attached, that said they were not manufactured by them or Nike. Read between the lines: COUNTERFEIT! I took the shoes, with the letter, to Shoe City. The clerk said they couldn't do anything after 30 days from purchase and to call customer service the following day. I spoke with a customer service agent the next morning who, again, said he couldn't anything. He also pointed out that the shoes had been worn. Yes, they had been worn. And they were dirty. That's what happens with shoes. But good shoes aren't supposed to disintegrate in less than two months! One shoe is still in great condition, the other one completely separated from the sole. But more concerning is that these shoes could be counterfeit and no one from Shoe City seems concerned. I have the shoes, the letter from Nike, and the receipt. I just want new shoes for my son that aren't going to fall apart after a month. This has never happened before, and since I won't be returning to Shoe City, it will hopefully never happen again. read more

Huge store, but they never have any sizes. I'm not an odd size and couldn't find shoes unless I wanted out of season or ugly shoes that obviously nobody wanted. When I asked if they had the size I was looking for, the guy told me we have all sizes between 7-12. Every style i picked out he didnt have. I went with my daughter and grandson looking for some casual, everyday shoes. When I first walked in all three employees were talking to each other and didn't even greet us. Recently came to this location to buy school shoes for my daughter. Yes it is difficult times for everyone, but it should always be a time for respect. Not everyone has a car, not everyone can afford a car or many things for that matter. When I first walked in through the door of this location with my wife and daughter I was carrying our reusable bag we always carry that has our extra necessities like masks, sanitizer, napkins, things like that. There was a woman at the door whom I guess was acting as security or as a watch person of some sort. I was carrying the bag over my shoulder. There are benches inside the store where you can sit and wait for whoever you are with while they are looking at the shoes. So this woman comes up to me and says that I can leave my bag at the front. I looked at the woman and asked her what did she say. She repeated it again and I looked at her and said why would I leave my bag with someone I do not know nor trust? That this did not happen before when I have come to the store. She then said to me that this is supposedly some new policy that they have and that I have to leave the bag. I decided to go and wait outside for my family even though I should not have to do so. I will not say my race because it should be irrelevant but I know the woman treated me this way specifically because of my race. Not because I was carrying a bag. I could have simply pulled out my amex card which i was fortunate enough to get, and tell her I could buy any shoe in the store that I wanted but I decided not to make a scene because she wasn't worth the time. I have a concern with the store that has a return policy but will not honor the return anyways. I specifically checked with the cashier about taking my purchase home to make sure that I could wear them after a certain amount of time to make sure that they fit OK and they feel right for me because I have a disability. I was assured that as long as I wear them in the home that I would be able to return them with my receipt in a timely manner. When I brought my purchase back for a return I was told there was nothing they could do because the shoes were worn however they did not look worn or damaged I was sure of that so they gave me the number to customer service because only they could authorize it. The customer service person reiterated that the shoes were worn and there are no returns, there was nothing they could do and she literally hung up on me. How is that okay?? That's not customer service! That's anger issues! How could that help me and my situation, they did not even offer store credit? Bottom line... I ordered a pair of shoes that were the wrong size. Since my daughter needed them right away, I went ahead and order the next size before I returned the incorrect shoes. I called Shoe City and explained the situation asking for a label to return the incorrect pair. I was informed that they do not provide return shipping labels. Since they are located in CA it is going to cost more than the shoes to ship them back. I just want to make everyone aware that they only offer free shipping but, not free shipping for returns. I walk in, they greet me, ask if I need help, I tell them I'm just looking. THEY FOLLOW ME. Every. Single. Time. I'm shopping with my kid, we're looking around, I'm aware you're there if I need help but seriously "fixing shoes" on the same isle as us EVERY TIME. The store is huge and there are 4 of us in there. I'm sure they can find somewhere else to spy on us from. It is so obvious and uncomfortable, the only reason I didn't say something and walk out was because my kid was so stoked to get new shoes and he wouldn't understand. Make yourself available, let me know where you'll be if I need help and go away. But instead they stand at the end of the isles as if they are security.
