Yes! I love it! The sushi is fresh, on point and amazing! I'm a huge sushi brat. I just moved to area and I have been going to many sushi places to find my "place"! Some of the places I have been to I can't even bring myself to try their raw fish. If your fish doesn't look fresh. I can't graduate from the boring cooked fish. I came here today and got the lunch sushi special. I can eat anything from here! It's fresh, it's great tasting and now one of my top places in CLT. I also got some various fish from the menu, the tuna, yellow tail, salmon are super delicious and my favorite place to get squid! The service was attentive. We went to Red Sake tonight for my husbands birthday. It's in Robinson Farms (located in the old Hawthorns Pizza location). Delicious sushi! Great atmosphere and a diverse menu including traditional Asian dishes, variety of saki and cocktails, and awesome owners and staff. It's only been open for a week and for a new restaurant it ran smoothly and you would never know it was their "Soft Opening"! Highly recommend! read more

The sushi was very fresh. The roll flavorful and they didn't skimp on ingredients. I got the poke bowl and really enjoyed it. There could've been a little bit more protein in it. But I can't complain, the flavor was great and it was plenty of food. I brought General Tso's chicken home to my son and he loved it. It was a large portion for an $8 lunch special! I will definitely return. And I hope it's just because of coronavirus that the service was slow. I have a feeling the one waiter they had was doing a lot more than just waiting tables. read more

I teetered back and forth with giving this a 4 or 5. Truthfully, it was a 4.5. It was excellent! But there was something missing for that 5 star status. I would definitely come back again and I enjoyed what I ordered. The service was good (not fantastic) and the restaurant had a nice theme to it. I loved the area it was in. The menu had a wide variety of Asian fusion and sushi. The sushi/sashimi was pricier because they used fish that was not the ordinary sushi restaurant fish. I had the sashimi dinner. It came with 8 fish and 16 pieces of fish. It did not come with a side is steamed rice or a soup or salad. I ordered the Tom kha and it was one of the best Tom kha's I have ever had. I would order this again in a heartbeat. I added their homemade chili oil to it and it was perfect. The sashimi was great. It was high quality but for the $40 price tag I would have rather had the sashimi plate at Prime sushi up the road. The sushi rolls looked amazing as did the appetizers and the Asian food. I think I would try some different things next time and definitely get the soup again. read more

If you live in Ballantyne and want great sushi this is your spot. It's not fancy, but it's amazing!! I've tried most of the rolls and love them. The fish is always fresh and the service is always good. I always get nigiri or sashimi and have never been disappointed. Try the salmon belly. YUM! Have to admit. First of all the sushi was amazing! Top notch and fresh. The sake flights were also very good and the server made some great suggestions. The duck, however, was grossly over cooked and super dry. The sauce was very flavorful but even that couldn't cut the sawdust texture of the meat. I was the only customer on a Saturday morning but service was still pretty slow and, aside from the sake recommendations, not very attentive. She was very nice just not attentive. I might give it another go for the sushi and sake but overall at the price point vs the main course and service it is a pass for now. read more

I'll start with this: this wasn't our 1st time here, and certainly won't be our last. We frequent Red Sake, whether it be for date night, just to get out of the house and prove we can still move and shake about, or ordering in/picking up. At this point, we've tried a large portion of the sushi menu and are starting to narrow down some favorites, which is why I thought it imperative to share now. So, let's start there: the item that keeps us coming back- the salmon belly truffle (under seasonal/special). We've had both nigiri and sashimi; both work perfectly on your tastebuds. Now, onto my newly recognized item on the menu that'll keep me coming back: the yellowtail scallion roll. It's not chopped yellowtail like a lot of spicy rolls are these days, it just a chunk of yellowtail hugged in a bit of rice with an outer coat of seaweed snuggling it. It's not too much rice. Not overpowering. It's just very fresh and almost "clean" tasting, like refreshing. I ended up ordering another one for "desert" after our meal! Hubby had the spicy scallop roll, which he said was very good, as well. Next, the signature rolls: We had the Yamagata and Kyoto. Simply put: Outstanding! These both are must try rolls, seriously! Their miso soup game is also always spot on, and nice (big) size portion. When we've dined in, their servers have always been very nice and extremely friendly. Don't forget about this place when you're craving the sush... I see you, "Sushi Friday" people... order Red Sake and enjoy your meal! read more

I am definitely a sushi critic. Especially after living in Okinawa for almost 6 years. Red Sake has now become my favorite sushi restaurant in the Queen City! The food was exceptional. The sashimi and sushi was fresh. Their menu choices were excellent. But I have to highlight the service by our waitress Sadie. She was very knowledgeable about the menu more importantly asked what we liked in particular and made exceptional recommendations. The only thing I would recommend for the restaurant is to carry Charashi on the menu. Prices were a little above what I expected but it was overall worth it. read more

Laughably bad. Overpriced menu and awful tasting food. Not to mention terrible service. The waiter placed my sushi down while walking didn't give chopsticks nor any holder for the soy sauce. Just so rude. Didn't check on our table but checked on other people's with no issues. I'd like to add that the "house tempura" which you would think is shrimp tempura is actually a blind mystery box of things that should never be tempura. And no where on the menu does it mention that. You get a fried broccoli, a fried green bean, a fried yam, and a fried shrimp. Notice how I said "a" because u only get one of each. Absolutely disgusting. I wish I had been informed. Next up the sushi, it was very much bland and didn't taste fresh. It tasted like gas station quality. What really made me scratch my head was when I saw our same server giving laughs and smiles to the white table right in-front of ours while we didn't even receive a hello or a smile or anything. Our server Phat was wonderful! He was very fast and efficient, but still takes time to get to know his customers. He's kind and hardworking and always takes care of us.
