The waitress was a bit brash and the parking was a pain, but overall my experience as good. The pizza was very good! Get pizza. The apps (mozzarella, calamari, arancini, house salad) were all average and good. The house salad was fantastic and the cheese garlic bread was amazing. The chicken parm was average, nothing special. The eggplant was the same and so was the stuffed shells. All good but not great. This is a great place for a large crowd as the restaurant is HUGE! The best pizza I've had in a good while. We came in town for the Hall of Fame induction ceremony and we found the gem of the city! Service was so good! The two ladies working our table made sure we tried the right items. Salad was so fresh and that house vinaigrette was so good! The garlic bread with cheese as an app was so good. We were planning to eat at a different restaurant this night, but they did not have dine in at this moment. So we were told about Red Rose and thought we'd give it a try. It is situated in the heart of Springfield. I called the day before to inquire about reservations. The said they do not take them, but as long as you get there before 6PM, you should have no problem getting a table. My 3 brothers and myself had an 8PM show in town. We arrived at the Red Rose at 545PM. The place was PACKED. We were put on 2 buzzers, one for the bar, the other for the main dining room. We had some drinks at a high top in the bar area while we waited for one of the 2 buzzers to go off. We were finally sat with the kindness of Camille, the hostess on the bar side! We were sat in what looked like "the back room" where you'd put the little kids soccer team with their families. We were running out of time, we were sat close to 7PM. So we had no choice, really. Our waitress, Andrea, was AWESOME!! We were asked if we wanted to start with drinks, and we actually put our entire order in the moment we sat down. Andrea had recommended pizza, as we would get our food faster. She was right!! So fast and sooo good!! The Red Rose reminded me a little like the bar on Cheers, but so much bigger. Enough about getting there, the drinks were great, beer while we waited, Cabernet while we enjoyed the food. This place is unbelievable. In early afternoon there is a waiting line. It's right next to the Springfield Casino. This place is unreal! When we got there, they said there was a wait. We put our name on the list. As we were waiting, we could see the people making the pizzas! Unbelievable how many pizzas they make a day! After a very short while we were seated. Bread is so good while waiting for our orders. Salad is so good. I order meatball parmigiana with spaghetti pasta it's so tasty, delicious and superb. My husband had personal pizza and finally we have chocolate mousse. Everything is good and delicious cannot say anything but I thank all the people who recommended it to us. Been hearing about this place since Nov 22 and I was finally in town for work and ventured here with a group. Pizza was excellent, had a nice crisp crust and plenty of flavor. We got two big pies, some with toppings and one plain. The plain was good but needed some life. The hamburger and pepperoni one was the winner for me. Next time in town, I will try the dinner menu. If driving down rt 91 from VT to NY and need a quick bite off the highway, I recommend ordering 30min before pickup. The pizza is pretty good for CT- sauce, cheese, crispiness all acceptable for a New Yorker. Acceptable but nothing too notable. The bathrooms are clean, so it's a good stop off 91 to break up the trip. The grandiose restaurant is packed. The bread and salad look underwhelming, so stick to a personal margarita pizza. A small is still pretty large with a doughier crust than a personal size. My husband liked the sausage and pepperoni pie he got. Finally got to try the infamous Red Rose in Springfield! I'll start off by saying that I 100% need to come back to try the pizza. Almost every table had a pie on their table and they looked GOOD. My boyfriend and I run a chicken parm Instagram account (@theparmpair) and we couldn't believe we haven't done a parm pair review in Western MA (where he grew up) yet. I got the chicken parm and he got the tortellini alfredo. Both were delicious, but I gotta say the tortellini was definitely the favorite. The chicken parm was delicious, but I personally prefer a thin and crispy cutlet. This was a thicker piece of chicken, but still delicious! This place gets packed but we didn't have to wait and we were able to fit in the parking lot. The service here is excellent. They definitely have no shortage of wait staff which is nice to see. I am in love with the house salad. It is so delicious with the Parmesan cheese and dressing. They give you a huge bowl to share and three adults (two men) couldn't even finish it. My son devoured the bread that came with the salad. It was really good bread. The pizza was good too. My 8 yr old got a small thin crust with mushrooms and enjoyed it. The adults split a traditional style crust (thicker) with sausage, pepperoni, mushrooms, onions and peppers. I said we should order a large and my husband laughed.
