    Zuppa Di Clams. Outstanding.
    Rob S.

This was a place I have longingly admired and wanted to try since arriving in Amherst to go to college in 1994. Well, 32 years after arriving in Western Mass, I finally had my chance. Love the iconic feel. The place is clean and updated, but the walls hang on to the 60+ years of history. Love the menu. Has enough to please anyone, but not a page-turner. They know what they stand for. Love the service. Fantastic. Real. Authentic. Local. Ordered the world famous house salad, the zuppq di clams, and a small pizza (which is not small). Salad and clams - FANTASTIC. Worth the drive from Watertown CT. Pizza... fresh. Hot. Made with care...but as a NJ native who now lives on the outskirts of New Haven... definitely not my style. Too think. Too much cheese. Not their fault. It was executed well. Not my preference. So happy I tried it. The memory will linger and come out, I'm sure, when I wax poetic of living in the 413.

Great food. Great vibe. Great service. Pizza is the best in the state. Can't go wrong with anything you order.

Just when you think you have good Italian in Florida, you go to the Northeastern US and realize how far off they are down south. This family owned restaurant in the shadows of the MGM Springfield was excellent in so many ways. First, great service... gotta love a welcoming staff and friendly wait-staff. They were prompt and explained things and were patient as we tried to decide what we wanted. Second was that salad! OMFG how can a salad be that good AF? It was fresh and cold and properly dressed and tossed and had enough olives that we weren't fighting over them! Take that Olive Garden! Third were the meatballs! I'm a fan of tender balls that aren't too dense and these were perfectly done. So moist and in a delicious sauce for dipping... Fourth was the bread! They brought out like 10 slices for 3 people. WTF people? So friggin generous with portions. And butter!!! Not that pretentious oil with herbs and vinegar! Churn baby Churn all over that delicious bread! Finally, that pizza... oh boy oh boy oh boy! So crispy and garlicky and delicious and crispy. We did the Margherita which wasn't the traditional style, but who cares. I'd go back in a heartbeat! Excellent Italian! Just check which day's they're open so you don't miss out! And if you're staying at the MGM, this may be closer to your room than a restaurant at the property.

What can I say... I'm a millennial who loves nostalgia. So when it came time to meet up with a dear friend back home, where else would we meet but Red Rose? We've both celebrated many a special occasion here in the 90s and this time was no different. I was extremely happy to see that absolutely nothing had changed. That kind of reliability is exactly what you want from your favorite restaurant back home. You basically want to leave it in a time capsule and walk back in after 30 years to find it right as you had left it. The place was bustling per usual. The server was fantastic. The wine was great. The house salad and house dressing were so good they made me want to scarf down vegetables. But the meatball grinder... THE MEATBALL GRINDER!!! (I now live in a place where we call them subs, but nothing compares to a good grinder.) It was culinary perfection: the bread was golden and crispy on the outside and soft and warm on the inside. The perfect balance of bread, sauce, cheese, and meatball. And the flavor of the meatball itself was perfectly seasoned and balanced. I'm already 100 miles away and I'm still thinking about it and will be for days... weeks... MONTHS! Until next time

We've been multiple times because it's such a staple and truly everything is good. Of course the pizza is their mainstay but I love their pasta dishes as well and think they're very well done. Salads and appetizers are always delicious as well. You will have to wait and fight your way in most of the time because it is just that popular of course, but they have buzzers and are always super well staffed. Overall very nostalgic feeling within and if you're lucky enough to be seated in the original main dining room be sure to take in the chandeliers and all the other decor

Red Rose continues to be the diamond in the rough of Springfield. Delicious sauce, tender veal, and literally the best tasting meatballs of the west!!! Amazing service, friendly staff. Dont ever change!

Every dish was ahhhhmazing! The Zuppa di Clams with marina sauce 10 of 10! Fresh complimentary bread awesome! Salad so fresh! Calamari crunchy and melted in my mouth! Manicotti stuffed shells 10 of 10! Chicken Cacciatore, perfection! It was packed but we were seated right away. Our server Jodi was the BEST. Family friendly restaurant. I cannot wait to return to try other dishes.

    Logistics reunion luncheon

Recently attended a Logistics Reunion luncheon w 12 other people. We get together twice yearly, always at the Red Rose. Communal salads, communal pizzas, communal pitchers or you can order off the menu. RR has been a fixture in downtown Springfield for decades. Consistently good food, always really good service, fair prices. One thing that kinda rankles me. They serve bread / rolls room temperature when they have so many pizza ovens. Why? It's the little things that keep them from rating a 5 (especially when most other comparable Italian restaurants put warm bread on the table). 4 stars

Homey, original, from scratch. Was planning on having pizza but the waiter convinced me to order pasta. Pasta with clams I believe. It was good. Ambience fine.

Great pizza with mushrooms and peppers Small size but still big 8slices

I'm from New York and visited my friend in the area and lunch was her choice and came to Red Rose. It was a Great choice. Famous with their pizza and it was completely different from my favorite NY thin crust pizza but medium thickness but great pizza. Their dough was tasty and baked right, sauce was just right taste and amount as well as the cheese. It came out slight charred which was actually perfect and therefore bottom was crispy. I order small but it was 15-16" size, means usually Large at most pizza places. I also had lunch menu pasta with shrimp, this was another hit. I need to try other menus that mean I may need to come weekly. I important things is that you better watch when you get check. I've gotten check from other table and didn't find the mistake until I got home. I paid mistakenly too much but the price was still cheaper than New York. Still watch out!!!!!

Some restaurants serve food. Others tell a story…read more At bNapoli Italian, Chef Momo Camara does both. I've been a fan of Chef Momo since his days at Harbor View Hotel on Martha's Vineyard, where his talent was already impossible to ignore. Yes, he's the chef who cooked for President Obama twice, but what impresses me most isn't the celebrity connection. It's his commitment to seasonality, sustainability, and the people behind the food. Chef Momo doesn't just buy ingredients--he builds relationships. He visits local farms, works directly with producers, and supports local businesses throughout Western Massachusetts. That philosophy is the heart and soul of bNapoli. This time, my favorite dish was the Hamachi Crudo. Thin slices of yellowtail, cured with salt, sugar, and citrus zest, floated in an orange acqua pazza so vibrant it tasted like sunshine meeting the sea. Clean, delicate, and beautifully balanced. The squid tonnarelli was equally memorable. Tender squid folded into house-made pasta with a lemon tomato sugo simmered for three hours, enriched with lobster stock, Calabrian chilies, crab, and shrimp. Rich, comforting, and deeply satisfying. My daughter's favorite showcased Chef Momo's creativity at its finest. Using a pâte à choux-based dough, he achieved a texture that seemed to defy gravity--ethereally light, impossibly pillowy, and delicate enough to disappear on the tongue. Paired with sweet roasted corn, asparagus, lemon crema, and crispy basil, the dish tasted like summer distilled into a single plate. As an Asian female chef, I couldn't help but reflect on how underrepresented chefs of color remain in fine dining. Some of the most talented chefs I've met throughout my career deserve greater recognition, and Chef Momo is certainly one of them. His food speaks for itself--thoughtful, elegant, technically precise, and deeply rooted in community. If representation matters to you, if supporting local farms matters to you, if celebrating extraordinary culinary talent matters to you, don't just talk about it. Show up. Make a reservation. Support Chef Momo. Western Massachusetts is lucky to have him.
